This is a simple utility that allows you to make a rough machine translation of a subtitles file from one language to another. So if you have a copy of a film but the only subtitles you can find for it are in Spanish, you can run the subtitles file through this page to make a copy that should be good enough for you at least to follow the plot of the film.
You will need a plain text format subtitles file. This will usually have the extension .srt. If it's .sub, .idx, or .ssa it won't be any good. To check it's the right sort, open the file in a text editor and see if it looks something like this inside:
Select the file on your local PC using the gadget below, make your language choices from the drop-down lists, and press the Translate button to get your new file.
Below are some sample subtitle files found online. Right click and choose Save as... to save them to your PC, then you can upload them to test the translator.
Pension Paura (Italy,1977) subtitles in: Portuguese | English
Borsalino and Co (1974) subtitles in: Serbian (tick the Windows box for this one) | English
