This report aspires to find the hidden truth of today's society,

focusing on a bizarre crime, which was pronounced unsuitable for TV.

Today, we live surrounded by an overwhelming amount of information.

A society where information is excessive

due to the development of ever-growing multimedia.

From global affairs to people's private lives - no information is unattainable.

However, hidden due to various reasons, exists top-secret information

buried in the shadows never coming into light for common people to see.

We have investigated underground information, challenged taboos

and pushed the boundaries.

In this first episode, we report on the 1995 disappearance

of a popular adult video actress and mysteries surrounding the incident.

We endeavoured in a long-term investigation, expanded over a year,

in order to ascertain a rumour...

In this industry, there was one actress

whose popularity continued for a year and a half.

However, in May 1995, a year and a half after her debut...

... she was working on her ninth film,

and suddenly disappeared.

Her home, her agency, her friends and acquaintances...

... never saw the sight of her again.

Did she simply dissolve into thin air?

Or was she involved in some kind of incident?

And now, in 1997, two years since her disappearance...

... there is a shocking rumour...

... circulating the industry.

This is Mr. Kozo Okuda, an adult video researcher.

A freelance writer whose work appears in magazines.

He's an adult video expert whose career spans over twenty years.

Furthermore, he has a special interest in Mai Tsurumi's disappearance.

We decided to talk to him.

Well, she was not particularly beautiful.

She had an inherent talent commonly seen in television celebrities

I believe that to be the secret to her popularity.

What were your thoughts on Mai Tsurumi's disappearance at the time?

Well, I wasn't that surprised as many AV girls tend to be capricious.

It's common for their agencies to lose contact with them.

I assumed they just lost contact with her.

But I was surprised when I heard about the incident with the parcel...

... the video production company that Mai Tsurumi worked for

received a strange video from an anonymous sender.

The person who told me about it said it was a snuff video of Mai Tsurumi.

A snuff video?

Yes, a video capturing an actual murder.

It's talked about around the world.

Whether they exist or not has yet to be confirmed.

It's a sort of urban legend.

So, you're saying that Mai Tsurumi's murder was on this video?

I personally haven't seen the video, so I can't really say.

But it's said to have been realistic and raw.

I asked people who had actually seen it...

... and they all say that it had to have been real.

The footage was similar to a scene from the last video she was in, The Bleeding.

People thought that it might have been the work of a fanatic fan.

This is the production company that Mai Tsurumi worked for.

filed for bankruptcy this February.

But during our search to find the truth

we've managed to find the company's employee directory.

We've succeeded in contacting one of the employees on the list.

... we were scheduled to film with her.

I heard you realised she was missing when she didn't show up to the shoot.

All the staff panicked.

She couldn't be contacted at home or through her manager.

And we were shocked when watched the video.

Tsurumi was nowhere to be found.

What could be the meaning of Mr. S's testimony?

After this, Mr. S describes what the video contained.

However, there is no proof the video exists,

and because Mai Tsurumi is still reported as missing,

I cannot disclose Mr. S's testimony.

What I can say is that I find Mr. S's testimony hard to believe.

I cannot believe that such a horrific thing occurred in front of the camera.

Here is what Mr. S said at the end of the interview.

I don't have the tape in my possession.

I handed it over to the police.

Since then, I haven't heard anything about the case.

Mai Tsurumi had no relatives.

So there hasn't been a search request.

It's not like her body has been found.

I don't think even the police can determine whether the tape is real.

We continued our investigation in order to support Mr. S's testimony.

Towards the end, the letter describes the abduction and murder of Tsurumi.

It is described in acute detail.

"We started to investigate the fake Mai."

"We decided to break it and get rid of it."

The letter goes on to describe the horrifying details of Tsurumi's murder.

Some of the footage you are about to see does not comply with the General Image Ethics Department.

However, our company JVD has decided to show this not out of curiosity -

- but out of the obligation of the media that we hold as a production company.

And also taking in the consideration the viewer's right to know.

So we decided to present it to you.

What upset me was not only the cruelty of the footage but

rather it was the anger I felt towards the killers that made me throw up.

We analysed the footage in order to find the place where Tsurumi was murdered.

By following their path, we hoped to finally solve the case.

In our month long investigation, we determined only one specific location.

Due to the long investigation, we had used up our budget.
