-It's beautiful really.
Makes me feel special that
they've chosen to live here with us.
-They're a menace!
I'm not comfortable with them running around
where my children are.
-The six-legged spider giraffe that abducted me
could see into the future.
So I've known this day was coming for a while.
And I gotta say, couldn't be happier!
One week ago,
our New Year's partay was put on pause
when myth became reality,
and the infamous Nian landed in the citay,
looking for more than a dance partner.
Now that we have proof
these magical creatures totes live among us,
many people are questioning if they're friend or frenemy.
I'm Bryan Wu, and with the help of our city's
self-proclaimed creature brigade,
we're going to get a sneak peek
into the world of these creachies
and take a journey behind the magic.
Prepare to get Wu'ed!
So, Yi, keep it one hundo with me.
How were you able to tame that beast
and stop him from eating everyone in the city?
-Actually, fun fact, Nian is an herbivore,
so there was no chance of that happening.
Unless you're a couch potato.
-Ha-ha! That spud was a dud.
Now, since Nian, no other creach-creach has been spotted,
but a lot of people still don't feel safe
knowing there could be others lurking around.
Care to clap back?
-When it comes to creatures, there's nothing to be afraid of.
They're completely harmless.
-Except when they rampage through the city, right?
-Well, rampage is a little dramatic.
It was more like an impassioned flailing.
-And if peeps stumble upon another one
in the middle of an epic flail,
they just call you?
-Yep. That's why we launched RingRing Creature Ping.
It's an app that allows people
to alert us to creature sightings.
-And then you hit it with the ol' raz-daz to send it away?
If it worked like that,
don't you think I'd use it on you?
-Totally heard that!
Now, why don't you give us a little demo
of how you handled it on New Year's?
-It's not something I just do. And I play the violin.
-I know, but the violin is so Wu-Womp,
and I need something with a little more "Whoo-hoo!
Whoo! Bryan! Bryan!"
Yeah! Pa-pa-pa-pa-pow!
- Ai!Yi, why is your friend so loud and insecure?
You should use your mouth to convince yourself
that you're worth it.
-Sorry, Nai Nai.
-Aah! Hold up. You're Sword Granny?
Nai Nai, do you have any experience with magic
or play a supes lame instrument?
-First of all, I'm not your nai nai.
And, second, soups heal the soul
which you don't have.
-Um... Yeah... Is... Oh, sorry.
Is it time for... for my interview yet?
I'm just dying to tell the world how proud I am of my daughter.
Mom. Stop.
-Oh, I always knew Yi was special,
but I had no idea just how special.
You've got a little something on your... Oh, wait, I got it.
I need to find my Wu factor.
Yo, thanks for hooking me up
with this exclusive backstage look
- into the world of creachies. - Of course!
When my bestie sends me a textie
asking me to be a guestie on his vloggie...
That did not work.
I just have to say yaaas!
-I want to welcome to the show my best friend, Jin!
How goes it, Jin-VP?
-Just thriving and surviving, Bry-guy!
-So, Jin, since we're such good friends,
can you be honest with me?
Are you also gifted with the magic touch?
Well, I have been known to work my magic.
But no. No, I... I'm going to medical school,
which ultimately lends itself to my creature helping.
It's sort of the best of both worlds.
-You know what's not the best? This snooze news.
Wu-Womp!
Shook!
I'm supes jazzed about our next guest.
He is technically #grounded
because his mom found out
he'd been partaying with creachies.
For his privacy, his face and voice have been altered.
Welcome to the show, mystery guest!
What should we call you?
Just Peng is fine.
Oops!
-This can't be how you all spend your free time.
You're... You're the creature brigade!
Where's the action, the drama, the creachies?
-Well, the creatures are mostly in my fairy tale book.
That's how I learned about them.
Ask me anything! I'm... I'm great at pop quizzes.
-Weird flex, but okay.
I just think it'd be better for the video if I saw one IRL.
Maybe we can take a trip to visit Nian?
-Actually, Nian is up...
-Set! He was upset.
-And that's why he attacked the city!
Ooh, what if we do a fun reenactment of that?
-Well, that wasn't really his fault.
He was just mad because
I accidentally destroyed his cave.
-Exactly. If anything,
Peng is way more destructive than Nian.
Normally, Nian is super chill.
-It came from the roof.
-Is it a creature? Can I see it?
-Uh... No way. No way. Sorry, the roof is off limits.
You stay here and read. There will be a test later.
I also love giving pop quizzes, so...
-Uh-oh. It's okay. It's okay.
-I'm just saying, you were a little rude to Bryan
which puts me at a very high risk
of getting a second Wu-Womp!
You know what happened to the last person
who got two Wu-Womps in one day?
- No. - No one does!
They're completely erased from social media.
Is that what you want for me, Yi?
-I feel like you want me to say no,
but really, I think getting off social media
would be good for you.
And what I want
is to help creatures.
-That's what this video will do!
Plus, he's helping spread the word
about RingRing Creature Ping.
-Yeah! His post is how I found out about it.
-Peng, you were there when I developed it
with Duchess and Mr. Burnish.
-Yeah, and you named the app.
-Huh? Ohhh, right.
-Look, I know he said
this was all to help with creature awareness,
but it feels like he's just trying
to get Nian on camera.
Or catch me using magic on camera.
-That can't be that bad.
I mean, all those people saw you do it on New Year's.
-No, Peng, that's worse!
We want everyone to stay focused on helping creatures
and not making them spectacles
or distracting people with my magic.
As a completely separate issue, I have no idea how I did it.
I didn't even have Everest's strings.
I just feel like every time
I think I have a handle on my magic,
I go back to square one.
-Don't worry, Yi. We figured it out before.
We can do it again. Together.
Hit the deck!
-It's okay, Nian. We know it's tight up here,
but Mr. Burnish will be done with your cave remodel soon.
And until then, we just wanna keep you safe.
- What the... - Cool, a drone!
-Is it recording us?
It's recording Nian! We have to get it down.
It's worth a shot.
-Ugh. Ah! Why are you attacking me? I'm an ally.
I don't even eat my vegetables!
Yi, what are you doing?
A nimbus cloud? Oh, no, my hair cannot get wet!
-I'm still getting the hang of this.
Nice work, Nian!
-Where do you think it came from?
-Aww! My drone!
Not cool, bro!
Whoa!
Uh... I mean, the magic dragon doing magic part was money,
but you didn't have to blow it up!
Wanna make it up to me with a selfie? Huh?
-I told you the roof was off limits!
-Bryan Wu is beyond limits!
Yi, no one's gonna care about creah-awares
unless they get to see some!
I'm trying to help!
-Not anymore. You're done filming us.
-Whhhyyyy? I just found my Wu factor!
-Looks like we got our first hit on the app!
Someone just sent us the location
of a creature they spotted in the city.
-It's our first ping, Peng!
Huh. Ping-Peng.
-You guys should go check it out.
-Again, the roof is off limits. Leave!
But yeah, we should probably go check it out, guys.
-Peng is prepped to answer that ping!
Peng-Ping. There's something there,
just gotta find it.
-Yeah, I'll come too!
I can live-stream the whole adventure.
-Are you crazy?
You're not coming anywhere near another creature!
I meant what I said. You're done.
Hey!
-Nice going, Yi. You just kicked out
my best friend who was doing us a favor.
He's not going to help us now.
-We've been helping creatures on our own for months.
We'll be fine without Bryan.
Is that another creature alert?
-No, it's Mr. Burnish.
He texted "Emergency at cave. Need Nian a syrup."
"Sorry. Autocorrect. Need Nian ASAP."
-Everest, can you take Nian back to his cave
while we track down this new creature?
Boys! Great to see you!
Duchess and I wanted to surprise you.
We've been binge-watching home redecorating shows
and got inspired to give this place a complete remodel.
And even though we were on a stalag-tight schedule,
we've come up with something we think you stalag-might love.
Yeah. You were right, Duchess. Should've workshopped that.
Anywho, follow me!
We still have work to do. The kitchen's a mess.
I can't decide between subway tiles
or above-ground tiles.
And there's either a slight echo
or you have a ghost
with an uncanny skill for impressions.
Nevertheless, when we are done, this cave will be our home.
Ah, yes,
this is the reason I called you all down here.
Which of these do you think
would really make the accent wall pop?
Midnight Milk or Daydream Napkin?
Hmm? Hmm? Hmm-hmm?
Ah.
Did not take into consideration that you may be color-blind.
-Why is it always the sewer?
Just once, can't a creature go to a nice day spa
or a make-your-own-pottery place?
I mean, who doesn't love hand-painted pottery?
-Ugh, why isn't this working?
I can't even do basic stuff I did before!
-Okay. Okay. Let's go back to the beginning.
Start with what we know.
You were always able to do magic with Everest's fur.
-Right. And then, on New Year's,
I did magic without Everest's fur.
-Huh? Yeah, no, I guess we don't know that much.
Creature's on the move again.
It looks like it's burrowing into the ground.
Oh, wait. I had it upside-down.
It's going up!
There's got to be something muy interesante up here.
Whoa!
-You'd think being around for a few thousand years,
he'd have picked up some sensible design aesthetics.
Okay, Nian, if I can find where you live,
I can hopefully get you angry enough
to go beast mode again.
That will definitely make the people go, "Wooo,"
and possibly, "Aaahhh."
-Jin, my boy, I need to call an emergency meeting
of our Informal, But Requiring Formal Attire,
For Fashions.
I need your opinion on some throw pillows.
I told you, these pillows are not for throwing.
The throw pillows are over there. Ugh.
Please hurry. You see what I'm working with.
-Gotcha.
-What kinda creature can move this fast through the city?
- I don't know. - I'm not getting
anything on the glasses.
-Well, according to this,
it's at the top of the building,
and it hasn't moved in a while.
-No problem.
I can use my rocket sneaks and carry you both up.
-No way! Being carried like a baby once
was already too embarrassing.
Man, Duchess wouldn't even look at me after.
Oh, I got it!
I use my magic to grow this shrub into a tree,
and then we can climb it and get to the creature.
Trust me, this will work.
I can't believe that didn't work.
-Maybe your magic is based on your proximity to Everest.
He was nearby when you stopped Nian,
and earlier on the roof.
-That makes sense.
When I had Everest's fur,
I guess a piece of him was near me at all times.
Suddenly, I feel so alone.
Aah! Oooohhhh!
Uh, hey, watch it!
-Sorry, I'm... I'm getting an alert.
It says I'm attempting to log in from another location.
- Well, are you? - No, Peng, I'm right here.
-Right. Like, no one's ever heard of an evil twin.
-Maybe it's just a glitch?
-Good thing Mr. Burnish didn't hear you say that!
He'd get his knickers in a twist.
I mean, totally freak out.
I may be spending too much time with him.
We absolutely need a mid-century chair here.
But our budget won't allow it, so I suppose a late...
That was a supes difficult journey to get here.
And I'm so out of selfie shape.
Sick place you got here!
Oh, I'm sorry. You can't record in here.
I sort of promised exclusive filming rights
to a certain number-one-ranked home remodeling channel.
-It's okay, man! I'm friends with Jin!
You might recognize me from my viral videos.
"Move It or Wu-se It," "I'm Feeling Wu-sie,"
"Knock Knock. Wu's There?"
Never mind.
I'm... I'm helping film some stuff for the crew!
You know, capture the magic.
Is there any way to get some better lighting in here?
Oops!
Totes my bad!
-A fireplace! That's what this place is missing.
And better ceiling support.
Duchess, are you writing this down?
Hurry, this way!
Uh-oh!
Guys, I'm not seeing anything.
-Hey, Mr. Burnish, not really a good time.
We're on our first Ping app mission
and can't find the creature.
Is... Is everything going okay with Nian's cave?
Well, my dear, we are on fire.
-Oh, awesome!
Okay, well, we'll come down a little later to check it out.
Oh, darn. What I meant to say was...
...the cave is on fire!
What?
Well, while you've been searching,
we've come across a creature of our own.
Very loud. Blond spikes on his head.
Duchess thinks it's some kind of human-porcupine hybrid!
- Argh! - Bryan. He set us up!
-He must've hacked the app.
That's why we haven't been able to find this "creature."
-He just sent us on a wild goose chase
so he could track down Nian's cave.
-We didn't find any wild geese either. He's a monster!
- We have to help them. - We'll never make it there fast enough.
-You know the drill. Hop on.
-It's not that bad, it's not that bad, it's not that bad.
It's not... It's not that bad!
- Everest! - Oh, no!
-Mr. Burnish? Are you guys okay?
-I don't think the creatures are taking too well to the heat.
We have to get them out.
-You have to clear some of the debris.
Maybe a little magic might do it.
-I knew it! This was his plan all along.
- Yi! - Right.
-If we're right, you should be close enough to Everest
to use his magic to knock the debris loose.
-Come on, Yi. You can do this.
Do you feel anything?
-Why isn't it working?
-Yi, maybe you do have your own magic.
On New Year's, you were able to calm Nian down
because you connected with him emotionally.
-You do always say your magic is tied to your emotions.
-What if my magic is my emotions?
-Exactly! You never needed Everest's fur to do magic.
It just gave you a boost.
-That's great except I don't have
any of Everest's fur with me.
-Do you think your magic would work
with a piece of any creature?
-There's only one way to find out.
Let's save our friends.
- Oh-ho! - It worked!
- Mr. Burnish! - We're here.
- Nian, wake up! - Come on, Nian!
Let's get out of here.
-Well done, children. That was a close one!
Now I know how it feels
to be the last meat skewer forgotten on the grill
because the dinner host was telling
an impeccable dad joke.
A tea kettle and a teapot...
Oh, but it's a really good one.
-I'm so happy you're okay.
-Ha-ha! Now that's what I call a Wu!
Uh, let's go again,
but this time, we can dial back some of the chit-chat
and get straight to the action.
-You are unbelievable! How could you...
-Yi, wait. I've got this.
Bry-guy... I... I mean, Bryan.
I cannot believe you manipulated us like that!
-Ah-ah-ah! Easy, Jin.
You're supes close to getting your second Wu-Womp of the day.
-I don't care if you give me ten Wu-Womps.
You broke into our fort, put our friends in danger,
and most importantly, you made me walk through the sewer!
Most importantly?
-Okay, okay, fine. Maybe it's not the most important,
but it's up there!
I thought we were friends.
-I don't need friends!
I have followers,
and they are going to love the sick vid I throw togets
with all the dope creach footage I got today.
Sorry, Jin, you just go Wu'ed!
-It's creature!
Would it kill you to finish the whole word?
Sorry, Nian.
Looks like you'll be staying on the roof a little longer.
Not to worry,
I'm happy to rebuild the cave... again.
And maybe Nian can help me this time,
so it's just how he likes it.
No bells, no whistles, no color.
But maybe just a little shiplap? Mmm?
That's not a "no."
Okay, are you ready?
-I... think so.
- Peng, are her eyes closed? - No idea.
-Why not?
Ugh! Peng, you're not supposed to be blindfolded too!
-I didn't wanna feel left out!
Fine. Just take them off. Come on.
Ta-da!
-Whoa!
Wait, isn't this just my same violin?
-Yep, but I restrung it with Everest's fur,
and Mr. Burnish helped me fashion one of Nian's scales
into a peg tuner.
So now you'll be able to do
a little bit of each of their magic on your own.
-Thank you, Jin.
-Just make sure you practice.
- And make sure I'm far away. - You got it.
And thank you both for helping me figure out
the magic stuff earlier, although I kinda wish
I didn't figure it out on camera.
I'm starting to think things were easier
when we were helping creatures in secret.
-But I thought we were supposed to be helping people
learn more about creatures.
-And we will.
You said it yourself, Yi. We don't need Bryan.
We can spread creature awareness all on our own!
-Yeah, but as soon as Bryan drops that video,
the only thing anyone will wanna talk about is me doing magic.
-Don't worry. I still have one more surprise for you.
I got rid of all the footage he had
of any creature or you doing magic.
-You hacked his page?
-Seemed fair considering he hacked us first.
-Wait, then what's that video?
-Help! I'm lost! Ow!
How do I get out of here?
Ow! Why is my GPS not working?
Aah!
My phoooonne!
-Looks like he just got Wu'ed!
