When I landed in China,

Sparrow was busy responding to a breaking news story

from the island Hainan in the south of the country.

On May 8th, head teacher of Hainan elementary school

discovered that 6 girls did not show up for class

After contacting the parents and searched all night without discovery

Report was made with local authorities

Authorities discovered them around WanNing and Hainan

After investigation, on the night of May 8th

two suspects brought the girls to a hotel

Suspect Chen is the principal of a elementary school in Hainan

Suspect Fung is an employee with WanNing City Dept. of Housing Management

The ages of the six girls range from 11 to 14

by the principal and the government official,

the police said that there wasn't enough evidence

to convict them of rape.

the girl's parents released this photo.

They claimed she was still bleeding

four days after the incident.

That's when the story began to change.

In our country, the highest penalty for rape is death.

and sex with minor is a minimum of five years imprisonment

up to 15 years.

If the rape victim is a child prostitute.

The offender will only receive five to 15 years imprisonment.
