Somehow, I knew it
was about maman.

GRAND-MERE: He had tried
to keep the truth from me,

but he realized he could not.

knew she hadn't survived.

gifting me hope when I had none.

Papa and I stayed
with the Beaumiers

for a short while,

until he found work at
a hospital in Paris,

the city that would
become my new home.

I became an artist.

pain that I have known.

grandson last night,

and I realized something.

I realized

I do not want to
fly away anymore.

You see, my life was not normal.

Hatred is not normal.

Cruelty is not normal.

My bad.
