..a pilot from Justin's team had a close call,

writing off one of the company's three choppers.

For them not to be killed in something like this is... It's just sheer luck.

The terrible news cut their trip short,

and it showed at their weighing.

Now they're chasing a new lead

in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

So, what did you actually see that got you super excited?

Well, it's a creek that cuts through a hill and then intercepts the course.

And I'm thinking that if we can check in the creek for gold,

it might have eroded out of that, could be well worth the look.

But we've just got to fly this ridge.

into an abandoned house in an old ghost town.

They took up hunting gold full-time with Kat learning from scratch...

..but when their 70-year-old tractor broke down,

their operation came grinding to a halt.

This is what you're in for. Tough times don't last.

But we've got a massive excavator.

It didn't cost us anything but favours

so I'm pretty excited.

We'll grab the detectors and we'll get going.

This digger could be the key of us getting some big gold,

some good gold. Look at it go.

We've been earning a living moving very, very small amounts of dirt.

This machine moves massive amounts of dirt.

So we should be able, in theory,

to get a lot more gold a lot more quickly.

We've got to find some good pay-dirt.

So we're digging down over the overburden,

looking for the nuggets that are trapped in the clays underneath.

And hopefully we find a good little nuggety patch

that's worth putting through that wash plant.

Brett's just dug out this nice little ditch,

which didn't take long with the new digger.

So I'm looking to see if there's any good pay-dirt.

Yeah, we've been through a lot and we lost the house

and we had to move out to Gwalia, the ghost town.

I promised Kat a better life, so...
