This is a Christmas story, though it doesn't really start out like most
Christmas stories.

For one, it's not Christmas or even winter.

It's summer I read it's winter down in Australia during the summer here in
the States,

which means it'll it'll be their summer when we visit this winter.

A warm summer. I'm getting way ahead of myself. Sorry.

I should probably start again.

My name is Andy. And this fan has taken my folks and me

and some other people to a resort near Pismo Beach,

which is on the coast between Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

And our driver Mike said he knows every back road in the area.

And that's Mike.

At least he thought he knew every background

because we drove through this really super strange patch of fog.

And when we finally came out of it, Mike was totally lost.

So when we all saw the first house we'd seen in like an hour,

we stopped even though I knew it wasn't the resort we were supposed to be
going to

there's nothing that makes people have action crankier than being stuck in
a slow moving van

and that's how the story began.
