Drop it!!

I want to be moved into protection immediately.

I don't think so. I want her in H Block by lunchtime.

! -He was obsessed with you.

He had a shrine to you all over the wall.

I have done some messed up shit. I swear, I do love you.

You are the single biggest mistake I have ever made.

You are not a man, you are a puppet with Ferguson's hand so far up your arse

you will never be free of her.

I'm gonna get out and you're gonna come with me.

Get me out of here!

-I'm not a miracle worker. -You find a way.

While she's still breathing, she is never gonna stop.

To get justice, sometimes you need to cross a line.

Get back! Everyone, get back!

-We can't go back. -We have to. They'll be a count.

-Shit! -OK, go. I'll be right behind you.

-Oi, Novak! Stop right there. -Oh, fuck!

I think I've discovered an escape plan.

Soon as lockdown's lifted, we've gotta move.

I'm sorry but I had to lie to you.

-I think I've found a way to protect you. -Oh, shit!

To get you out. So get going.

Run like hell and clear your name. I need to do something else.

I made a deal, to share my escape plan.

No!

Get me out of here!

Noooo!

A Corrections spokesperson confirmed

that two prisoners escaped via a prison industries workshop,

established by regional manager, Derek Channing,

who has been unavailable for comment since the incident.

Sources say Doyle and Ferguson would have needed staff assistance

to orchestrate such an escape.

The prison remains in lockdown, as investigators question staff and inmates

to establish if the two had assistance

and what their plans were on the outside.

48 hours later, police remain on the hunt for the Wentworth escapees.

Earlier, a Corrections spokesperson confirmed investigations into that escape

reflect on the integrity of the prison security itself.

This week's escape, though, certainly does.

Police have already questioned around 100 inmates and staff and intend to continue.

With both inmates still on the loose,

the prison and the department are under pressure. Now the Governor,

Derek Channing...

..and replaced by the former Governor, Vera Bennett.

She now faces the tough task of trying to bring stability...

Move back.

Move back, please. Just move back, please!

Name?

Rita. Rita Connors.

Date of birth?

November 15, '71.

Next of kin?

Nuh.

Can I keep my jacket?

While you're on remand, yep.

You'll need to lose the patches, though.

-Yes.

And the cops are back. They wanna speak to you again.

It'll have to wait. What triggered the alarm?

-J Block set fire to some mattresses.

-It's OK, it's out. -Slot them, slot the lot of them.

The slot's full. We could separate the troublemakers, put them in other blocks.

-Get onto it. Shut the fuck up!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Hey! Can you let us out of here?

Cos it's not our fault they fuckin' escaped, eh?

-Just let us out. -Mr Stewart, I need to talk to you.

Hey, no one's tellin' us nothin', either! How's Sonia

Mr Stewart!

-Just keep moving, Connors. -We want the tellies back on as well!

Oh, come on! We're not fucking animals!

The women are losing it. I need to speak to the Governor.

-Your cell's over there. -You can't keep us cooped up like this.

-It's a violation of our rights. Welcome to prison.

Oi!

You got a name?

-Rita.

-Conquerors. -You wanna be careful wearing that.

Someone in here might want to take it for themselves.

They can try.

I'm Kaz. I'm in charge around here. Remember that, we got no problems.

You guys suck!

I am not making any statements.

-Don't call this number again.

I don't know, but they know Channing's been fired.

Sorry to keep you waiting. Um, I'll check on those transfers.

I thought you'd already talked to all the women.

We're following a new lead.

We think Doyle and Ferguson had help from your side of the bars.

We have a suspect we'd like to talk to you about.

Right, and who's that?

Visitors centre records show that Bridget Westfall

visited Doyle three times in the ten days prior to her escape.

Ms Westfall resigned some weeks before, so why was she visiting Doyle?

You'd have to ask Ms Westfall that.

-If you're withholding any information-- -I can't be certain,

but it is possible that Doyle formed some kind of emotional attachment.

Was it reciprocated?

-I don't know.

I told you to hold my calls!

Someone helped the prisoners escape, Ms Bennett. We need to establish who it was.

The sooner we recapture the escapees,

the sooner your prison returns to normal.

Yeah.

-Haven't got time for this, Mitchell. -Get off me! Nuh.

-Move it, Mitchell! Come on! -Not going anywhere.

Nuh, I had nothin' to do with it! Not going nowhere.

-Let go.

-I'm not going anywhere.

Nothing you need to worry about. Last chance, Mitchell. Let's go.

Treat us like animals and we'll act like one!

Oh, shut the fuck up!

-Let's go, Mitchell. You need to lift the lockdown!

Ms Miles?

Ms Miles, I need to talk to Officer Stewart.

I'll pop a note in his diary.

-Trouble.

Cell 16. Play nice.

What?

Wasn't my fault. Bitches trashed my unit.

Hey, hey, hey! Hey, 16, not 15.

That's Franky's cell. You don't go in there, OK? She's my best mate.

-Yeah.

She's a legend. I hope she gives those pigs a run for their money.

Hey, love?

I haven't seen you around. Are you a newbie?

Nah, I've been over in J Block for three months.

-Got six left.

-For being black.

Nah, for resisting arrest. But that's not my fault either.

-I'm seeing a pattern. -Believe it or not, Sugar Tits.

Oh, that's all we need. More attitude.

Floor it! Go, go, go, go, go!

Both Doyle and Ferguson are considered dangerous and may be armed.

The potential collusion between Doyle and Ferguson

has come as a surprise to Wentworth's staff and prisoners alike,

given the apparent conflict between the pair, which reportedly...

Andrew! Let's go!

Down here!

One member of Wentworth's correctional staff, who wished to remain unnamed,

said he thought it was unlikely the pair would be on the run together.

And now a look at the weather.

It's looking windy with showers.

Forecast for Melbourne, partly cloudy, slight chance of showers, mainly...

Fuck!

How'd it go with the police? They got any leads?

Why the hell are you still here?

I want to make things right.

If you want the deputyship back, you can forget it.

If it was up to me, you'd be queuing at the job centre.

I want to make things right with us.

Are you that deluded?

I love you.

Just give me a chance to prove it.

I will prove that you helped Ferguson escape

and when I do, that evidence you think you have on me is hearsay.

It'll be my word against yours.

OK, come through, but make it quick.

I've got a call with the Board in five minutes. It's the lockdown. The women are going crazy.

They are this close to losing it.

Most of them have never been near the workshop and they don't understand

why they're being punished for someone else's breakout.

We've established Jenkins distracted an officer. Maybe others were involved too.

The escape worked because no one knew about it.

They're being denied their basic rights here. They need fresh air.

They need to eat together. They need TVs on. They need to work.

The women respect you, Ms Bennett.

But if you leave them cooped up for much longer, you're gonna lose them.

Wait outside, please.

-Well, J Block are still going nuts.

Now D Block are kicking off, and we've moved people around.

It could be a good circuit breaker to get things settled.

Alright. I'll lift the lockdown, you implement it.

-But TV privileges stay suspended. -Sure.

-Thanks for helping. -Oh, works for me.

Last thing I need is a riot.

Late nights? You look like crap.

Oh, knackered. Double shifts, the cops in and out, interviewing everyone.

They got any leads?

-I don't think so. -I don't get it.

Why would Franky leave with Ferguson? Where would they go? It doesn't add up.

Sooner or later they'll find Ferguson.

And she'll be back.

Hey.

Jesus, mate, you look shithouse.

Vera's gunning for me. She thinks I helped Ferguson.

-So put her off the scent.

I dunno. Use that fucked-up brain of yours.

Mate, this is your problem too.

I've done my bit, OK? And I feel sick about it.

But I did it for Vera and the women, alright?

You're not my responsibility. You're on your own. You got that!

Attention, compound. Attention, compound.

Lockdown is now lifted. I repeat, lockdown is now lifted.

Halle-fucking-lujah!

Want some air

Yeah.

Whoo! About time.

-Yes! -Oh, you're the best!

-Oh, my God! -Good on ya, Kaz.

-Cheers, Kaz. -You're a bloody legend!

-Onya, Kaz! -You're welcome. Nice to see ya.

Hey, Ms College.

-No.

Like anything?

-As far as I know, she's pretty crook. -Oh. Just, like, tell me something.

Sorry, love.

Hey.

What the hell are you doin' here?

I just wanna talk.

I never wanna talk to you again.

-It's better if nobody knows about us.

They ain't gonna hear it from me.

Oh, Wazza!

-Hey. -Hey.

You two know what Franky was up to?

No, not a clue.

Franky takes Ferguson with her.

How the fuck does that work?

Dunno. Maybe she didn't have a choice.

Hey.

Franky gave me this before she left.

I've been hanging on it and looking at it, thinking about her.

Where do you reckon she is right now?

Bermuda

Broadmeadows?

No, she's got a job to do.

She won't be going anywhere until it's done.

..Over the shooting murder of TV personality Mike Pennisi,

while Ms Ferguson was said to be behind the murder of former inmate Bea Smith.

Serious questions are being asked about the security measures

at Wentworth Correctional Centre following a number of high-profile incidents

over recent years.

Intensive lobbying by...

Jesus!

Gidge, what the fuck happened?

-No. Oh, fuck!

-It's nothing. I...I was rushing.

Franky, what the hell were you thinking?

Look, I gotta keep moving. I was gonna ask you for a ride, but--

-Iman's place.

On, Franky, this is crazy.

We've been over this. If there was any evidence, they would have found it.

She's not a suspect. It's just me.

I'm gonna go down for murder if I don't do something.

We are gonna get another lawyer, OK? This is not the way to do it!

It's not gonna make a difference! I need evidence!

And I'm not gonna find it sitting in a prison cell.

I wish you'd told me you were planning this.

You would have talked me out of it.

-I don't know. I never saw her.

Is it--

Ms Westfall, it's the police!

Yeah, hi.

I'm Detective Collins, this is Detective Hydari.

We have some questions about the nature of your relationship

with Francesca Doyle.

-Oh, I can answer questions here. -We'd also like a look round.

Why is that?

We know you visited Doyle a number of times recently. You care to explain why?

Because she needed psychological support.

Well, none of your other ex-clients needed to see you. Why did she?

Well, I can't discuss her personal situation.

We're hunting an escaped criminal. We have no time for confidentially bullshit.

It'd be better if you could just let us in, Ms Westfall. Otherwise we might think you've got something to hide.

-We could get one.

-Oh, good, then you can get one. -Ms Westfall--

Look, I'm not going to stand here and be spoken to like this.

I need to rest. So if you feel you need to search my house, then get a warrant.

Otherwise, don't waste my time.

Oh!

Franky.

Oh, for fuck's sake!

You were close with Doyle?

I think you knew what she was planning.

Now I'm not expecting you to lag. That is not why you're here.

I have reason to believe an officer was involved.

What can you tell me about that?

You've protected an officer before, over contraband. Did the same officer

help Doyle and Ferguson escape?

Novak...

This is a very serious situation. If you help me,

I will advocate on your behalf. I will see if I can get your sentence reduced.

Just tell me what you know.

I don't know anything.

Attention, compound. Attention, compound.

All women to report to work duties.

Novak!

Where have you been? I've been looking for you!

What did the Governor want?

She thinks an officer was involved in the escape.

-Nothing.

OK, good.

-Wait! -Oi!

I want to know what happened.

I need to know that that...

bitch is gone for good.

The job's done. You just need to keep quiet.

I want details. Did she suffer?

-I wanna know that she suffered.

I wanna hear about every last fucking scream.

This conversation's over. Ferguson's dead, OK? End of.

Oh, Ms Miles. Ms Miles.

I still haven't heard nothin' about Sonia. Like, can you find out for us?

-Sit down, Jenkins. -No, just fuckin' tell me something!

-Sit down. -Sit down.

Sit... I'll fuckin' sit down.

Hey...

Sonia wouldn't be dead or nothin', would she, like?

-Yeah, course they would.

-You don't look very worried. -Just eat your lunch, love.

I'm not hungry.

Alright, I'm missing Franky, too, alright?

Well, maybe she could come visit in disguise.

Hey, Juice! How was hospital? They glue your tongue back on?

Sorry, what? Was that like sign language?

Cos I can speak that, yeah.

Hey, Sugar Tits.

Yep, that's me. Sweet and sour.

So, um, what's J Block like?

Oh, it's deadly. We plait each other's hair and have all-night orgies.

Oh, yeah, we have orgies too.

Liz goes off.

-Like shit.

That's what happens when you burn your mattress, ya dumb arse.

You want a fuckin' fist in your mouth?

I've got a big mouth. You wouldn't even touch the sides, mate.

My fuckin' property, you got that?

-Whatever. -Leave her alone.

Why are you protecting her? You fucking her?

-Don't be stupid. -Look at my girlfriend again,

I'll cut your throat.

Here's a newsflash, babe.

I'm not interested in you or your drug-fucked mum.

-Hey, fight! -Hey, hey!

We're good, we're good.

I don't care how you do things in J Block.

When you're with us, you show each other some respect. You got it?

I'm comin' for you, dog.

You touch her, you answer to me. Now get your food or get the fuck out.

Sit down.

You alright?

Fuck off!

-Uh, just lookin' for someone.

Who?

That young Koori girl. -They said she was in this unit.

-No.

Newbie. Connected with the mob. That's what we do.

Oh, yeah, right. Well, not sneaking around other people's cells is what we do, OK?

Got it.

Couldn't give a rat's arse about your girlfriend, Spike.

You think you're so fuckin' funny.

With your wisecracks and your smart-arse comments.

Mints aren't cuttin' it for ya, mate?

-Monte Carlos. Love 'em. -Yeah, nearly out.

You know if you split 'em, it's kind of like you get twice the amount?

-Piss off, Spike. -Nah.

Nah, I don't think so.

Don't do this.

Not so fuckin' funny anymore, are ya?

Hello, hello.

-Rita, Connors.

-Liz and Allie. -She's lookin' for the black chick.

Oh, Ruby? I think she's in the showers.

Great. Thanks.

Fuck me, it works.

Eh?

Thanks!

Hey, this isn't a racetrack!

Oh, shit!

She's breathing. Sit on the bed.

Why the hell did you do that?

I don't know.

-I can't remember.

What the fuck's that supposed to mean?

I think my hand's broken.

Give me a look?

Knuckle's dislocated. Look at me.

-Wiggle your toes.

-Ooh, fuck!

-Shh! Shh, shh, shh!

Shhh!

Shhh!

Need to get some ice on that.

I don't need your help.

They find out it was you, they'll charge ya.

That nine-month stretch of yours will turn into bloody years.

They say you're called Connors now.

Rita Connors.

Lots of things have changed.

So what you in for?

Armed robbery.

What, so you're a bikie now?

Yeah.

I made some pretty dumb choices.

Done a lot of things I regret.

Attention compound...

-They found her. -Oh, fuck! I'm rostered on in the laundry.

-They're gonna see my hands, Rita. -Code Purple in the shower block.

Stretch it out. Don't say a word to anyone, OK?

OK. Go.

Fuck off!

Go away. Nothin' to see here.

Coming through, coming through.

-Out the way.

You tell me. Better still, tell the Governor.

Fucking animals. Oi!

-Nah!

Don't you bullshit to me.

I couldn't give a shit about the crazy bitch.

Aaaagh!

Fuck!

Uhh! Fuck!

Aaagh!

Shit! Fuck!

Oh!

Mmm, this is a coincidence.

-Your hand matches her face. -I told you, I fell down the stairs.

-I was supposed to finish ten minutes ago.

-Uh, traffic.

Oh, yeah, whatever. Let's just go through this handover, OK?

Gotta make it quick.

Got my shift in 20.

-Supermarket. It's the best.

I need to know something, about Vera.

She's a cunt. Next question.

How'd she get you to take the rap for Bea Smith?

She said my swipe card was used to let Smith into no man's land,

which is fuckin' bullshit.

She changed the records.

-Yeah, yeah, yeah, loads.

That's why I'm wearing a pink vest and working nightshift in Frankston.

What about the backup logs?

Did she change those too?

Why are you so interested in what happened to me?

Vera's trying to shaft me too.

Oi!

No contact, Connors.

I've missed you, babe.

Sprained it.

-Yeah, on someone's face. -I'm fine.

Honest.

Sit down.

-I'm so sorry.

It was an easy job. A smash and grab. I get the gear and you...

you went back for the cash. I mean, it's a cleaner's, not a fuckin' bank.

-I wasn't thinking. -I would've come back for you.

But the cops tailed me for 30k.

-Dunno.

-Court won't be for a month or two. -Oh, Jesus--

-Worried.

Turf war's hotting up.

Do the Butchers know we knocked off their gear?

They'll work it out.

Jesus, Reet, why did you have to be so careless?

I miss you.

Thank you, Tanya.

Hey, Liz, can you please take over?

-Yeah.

Who taught you how to fold, Stevie Wonder?

Edges gotta be crisp, like this.

It's hotel laundry. Who gives a shit?

If you're gonna do something, you do it right. That's what my dad always said.

OK, Mary Poppins.

OK, ladies, listen up!

Some good news from the hospital. Sonia's off the critical list.

Oh!

So that means she's gonna be OK, doesn't it?

Well, doctors reckon that she was poisoned

with liquid nicotine and that's why she collapsed.

What?

I'll find out who did that and there'll be repercussions.

Same with Spike Baxter. She was attacked in the showers today.

Oh, shit!

My rules are pretty straightforward,

but some people can't seem to get them through their thick heads.

Anyone who commits an act of violence against another prisoner

will pay the price.

And I mean, they will fuckin' pay.

Things have changed around here.

Spread the word.

-Sonia was poisoned. -Yeah, I heard.

-Dunno.

But when I find them, I'm gonna break their fuckin' neck.

-Aagh! -Fuck you!

New inmates for the work unit. You can show 'em the ropes.

Are you well enough to work?

I asked 'em to let me out. I need to do something.

But first you're going to tell me who did that to your face.

-I fell in the shower. -Try again.

Was it her?

Clearly, you two had issues in J Block.

Was it?!!

It was me.

She's fuckin' racist.

She'll tell ya.

I did it.

Yeah.

OK.

You're new. Maybe you didn't know the rules.

But I'm gonna make an example of you. Girls.

Not the steam press.

Put her hand under here.

Everybody, watch and learn.

Aagh! Fuck!

Hmm!

Come on!

Shit!

Oh!

Aagh!

Uhh!

-Well, that was stupid. -You're welcome.

-I don't need you to protect me. -Shouldn't be in here, Roo.

You're a smart, young, beautiful black woman

-with a whole future ahead of you. -I had a future.

-I know and I'm sorry. -Apologies mean jack shit.

They don't change anything.

I had to leave to take the heat off you more.

I ran to the other side of the bloody country.

But I never forgot about ya.

You were with me the whole way, every step.

Then I heard you were in here and I had to see you.

So I got myself arrested.

-I put myself in Wentworth to be with you.

-Normal people just fuckin' visit! -You wouldn't have seen me.

I know I let you down, Roo, but I swear, it won't happen again.

No, you can't put that shit onto me. I don't even want you here.

-Well, tough, cos here I am. -You stay the fuck away from me.

As far as I'm concerned, my sister's dead.

Police, open up!

We know you're in there!

You got five seconds or we're coming in!

We don't want anyone getting hurt.

Open up! This is your last chance or we're coming in.

-Don't move! Don't move! Aagh!

Put your hands where I can see them!

You've got the wrong guy! I haven't done anything! This is harassment!

Jesus!

Come on, Rhys, trafficking drugs.

You're not obliged to say or do anything.

I haven't done anything! Fuckin' hell!

This is harassment! Let me go!

-Police want to talk to you.

Well... What?

-Oh, is this about Franky again-- -No.

They want to ask you some questions about Sonia Stevens.

Don't try and bullshit your way out of this, OK? It's on CCTV.

-You giving Sonia the tea.

They know she was poisoned.

Wasn't me.

-It's on CCTV. -Nah, I never poisoned no one.

Well, you can tell that to the cops. Come on, let's go.

What the hell are you doing? What's on that stick?

-Hand it over now. -No.

Fine. You are fired.

And I'm calling in the CSDS to go through your personal property.

-You don't want to do that. -No, I might not have the evidence yet

that you helped Ferguson, but I'm willing to test your word against mine.

I've got evidence of my own.

These backups prove you let Bea Smith into no man's land.

And show you falsified records to frame Officer Murphy.

It's all there in black and white.

Could end your career. Might even get you locked up.

That's my insurance.
