(birds chirp)
(Abby speaks Spanish)
Your turn, babe.
- Oh no, they, they got that part.
- No, you should do it.
(Shane groans)
(bright music)
(cursor clicks)
(bell dings)
(deep eerie music)
(camera clicking)
Hey y'all, it's Abby and Shane just uh, just got--
- Wait. Can we take it back?
- [Both] Hey guys.
- You go, babe.
- No, you go.
- You sure? - Mm-hmm.
- [Both] It's Abby and Shane.
- Well done. We're at the new house.
We bought it sight unseen.
We have no idea what we're getting ourselves into.
- Yeah, there could be stuff in there,
there could not be stuff in there.
- Let show 'em. Can we show? I don't kno
Can you, can they see it?
You can't really see it, I guess.
- [Abby] Can you see it?
- [Shane] A little bit, yes. (laughs)
Watch your step, babe.
Be careful, I'll try to light it
for you, as we go. - I got it. I got it.
- All right.
- The keys. - Here we go.
- Are you ready?
- [Shane] I'm as ready as I'm gonna be.
Let's see what we got.
- Darkness.
- [Shane] Darkness.
- Oh my god. - Oh we got,
here's some furniture that's covered in-
- There's a lotta furniture left behind.
- [Shane] Sight unseen, you never know
what you're gonna get, but--
- I know. - Looks like we made out
pretty well.
- Oh, it looks so cute. Even in the dark
I think I wanna sleep out here.
- [Shane] Yeah, that's, I mean, that's fine, we can--
- Oh, my god.
Well, I hope you guys like it too, because we're stuck here.
We bought this house.
- [Shane] This is absolutely awesome.
There's so much potential-- - Well, let me get
some of your reaction.
- This is so much, this is so much my potential
and opportunity here.
We gotta get the power set up, y'all.
(Abby laughs)
We can set it up here.
We could probably just, what do you think, put the--
- Oh yeah, we could put the sleeping bags down.
- [Shane] Set that down.
- I haven't slept in a sleeping bag in so long.
- I know, right?
One. - One, two, three.
(Shane laughs)
Oh, come on. (laughs)
Well, we're here.
- We made it.
Night one-- - Night one.
- In the books.
- I'm really excited.
- It's awesome. I think we did really good on this.
- Yeah, I'm so excited to see the house in the morning.
- Yeah. I love you, I'm glad we did this
- Mm. I love you too.
- Night y'all. See you in the morning.
This is amazing.
- This is our home. - Look at the home, babe.
This is our home.
- I'm so excited.
- This is where we live now.
Oh. Okay, that's weird.
- [Abby] Wow.
- All that, all that, all that greenery.
Like we didn't see any of that when we came in last night.
- We have a fireplace.
(both laugh)
Look how cute.
- Let's see what we got. Let me see what we got over here.
Look at all this. We got nice little, it's a chandelier.
You think that's one you could swing from, babe?
What do you think?
- I, I don't think so. - Not so much?
- I think it would break. - No? Not a little bit.
All right guys, I think she-- - I have so many ideas.
I don't know where to begin.
- So many ideas. Wow.
Dah, dah-dah-dah. - I think this is the bedroom,
where the magic happens.
- [Shane] Where the magic happens.
- (laughs) Whoa. - And it's, pink.
Is that pink? - I don't know what it is,
but it has to go. - (laughs) You don't love it?
- I don't love it.
- [Shane] No?
What is this weird, like, like a weird design?
Babe, look at this weird design like all around the top.
This is gotta be super old.
But yeah, we're gonna have to do a ton of work in here.
We might even have to re-drywall, re-spackle or something.
Definitely paint this whole thing.
What is it? What do you got?
What is it, babe?
- (laughs) I'm just so happy. - Come here.
- [Shane] We got a house.
- [Abby] We have a house, yes.
Oh my god. (laughs)
Is it? - Oh my gosh. Wow.
- Do you think we have enough room for a pool?
- [Shane] Maybe a little pool?
We got a plane overhead. (plane buzzes)
- What? It's so cute.
- [Shane] Thanks, babe.
- Oh. - Oh look,
you could put a garden up here to the left.
Grow some veggies, maybe some tomatoes.
- Cute. - Is that lime or lemon tree?
A lemon tree. That's amazing.
- We have limes and lemons?
Look at, hold on. Look at this.
- Is that a little baby?
- It's so tiny.
- Well then look at this one, this looks like,
I think that's an avocado tree.
- Is it? - Have some avocados.
- [Abby] Oh my god, wait.
- [Shane] We could do so much--
- You just reminded me.
- [Shane] I just reminded you.
- Yes. Last night, he was sleep talking.
You were sleep talking.
- [Shane] What?
- [Abby] I've never heard you do that before.
- What did I say?
- I, I'm not sure.
It was mostly like mumbling.
- That's so crazy. - It was kinda funny
and weird, I was laughing.
(both laugh)
I wish I would've gotten it on camera.
- Yeah. Yeah. - Maybe some other time.
- That's too weird, yeah.
Here we go, Just get it set up.
(camera clicking) (Abby laughs)
Are we good? - I'm sure we have
a lot of options.
So, some of the tiles are kind of broken and beat up,
a lotta wear and tear.
Um, and, I was thinking of replacing the
And luckily I was snooping around the garage
and I found extra tiles.
So, this is gonna be my first time...
Hey. Hey. (laughs)
Okay. Hello.
- Hello. What are we doing?
- Well, I was telling our viewers that I found extra tiles.
You know, we were talking about replacing some of these
and-- - Yeah.
- It was gonna be hard to find like, exact ones,
'cause you know, it's old house,
but I found these in the garage.
- Well, that's super lucky.
That way we can extend it or put it wherever you--
- Oh my gosh, yeah. - Add it to the spot.
- Yeah. Isn't this awesome?
- That's amazing.
- Yeah so, I'm gonna need your help because I have never--
- Of course that's what we do. - Done this.
- Yeah.
- I got you, babe.
Hey guys, it's Shane.
And, we're talking about termites, unfortunately.
If you take a look here,
we definitely got some issues along this board here.
Probably, there's probably more on either side.
We're gonna have to rip these up and just take a look
and see how bad it is.
And from there, from there we'll figure out
just what type of treatment we're gonna do.
We'll probably just start with a localized treatment.
Have them spray, an exterminator, here,
and then unfortunately, probably have to go
underneath the house as well.
Keep that, I hope, if that doesn't fix it--
(picture clatters) we got...
(dog barks)
Well, that was weird.
So much for those nails they uh, they left us. Huh?
Anyways, back to termites.
- [Abby] Shane!
- Abby?
- [Abby] Shane!
- What, what is it? What?
- Shane! - What, what, what, what?
- [Abby] There's a spider.
- [Shane] Oh my gosh.
- [Abby] There's a spider.
- [Shane] Do you want me to kill it?
- [Abby] Yeah, I don't know.
I don't, I don't want it in here.
(dog barks)
(conversation continues indistinctly)
- [Shane] I got it. See, I got it.
It's gone, it's gone. It is gone, it is gone.
(camera thuds) (Abby sighs)
- [Abby] Yeah.
- I didn't leave you like this.
Hmm?
- Shane?
(door creaks)
Babe?
What are you doing?
Is he sleepwalking?
Babe?
What are you doing?
Shane? Hello?
Babe, can you hear me?
Shane?
Babe?
What? Okay, no, what, what are you doing
(door creaks) What? No, no.
(door clatters)
Babe? Shane?
Hello?
(door chain lock clatters)
So, I decided to replace the kitchen drawer cabinet handles,
and I made a few of them to test them ou
see if I like the shape and the weight and the designs.
And, I do.
Yeah, they kinda remind me of like, kinda like Greece. Hey.
- Those look good.
- Thanks. Yeah, you like them?
- Yeah, they came out great.
- Yeah, I think I'm gonna go through and make some more.
- Awesome. - Yeah.
- I think, I mean, the way that they came out,
that finish on there.
- (gasps) Wait. You did something funny last night.
He did something funny.
- I did something funny? What did--
- Kind of freaky funny.
- Freaky funny?
- Babe. - Now we're talking.
- Babe, you were-- - Do tell.
- You were sleepwalking last night.
- What?
- Sleepwalking.
- I don't, I don't. No way.
- And I found you.
I found you over there at the window, just staring.
- Stop.
- Staring outside.
- Whatever. She's lying.
She's making up stories-- - No.
- For her, for her tubers. For you guys.
- No. - For entertainment purposes.
- I have proof.
- You have proof? - I have proof.
- Show me.
- Get ready to get your, your bloomers--
- Whatever. - Blown off you.
- I don't know what I'm about to watch,
but there's no way-- - I'm gonna show you--
- There's no way I was sleepwalking.
- What this loony tune did.
- All right, let's do it.
Let's get into it. - Okay, let's see.
- See what you created.
Shane? What are you doing?
Um.
(Shane laughs)
Yeah.
Babe, can you hear me? Yeah, yeah, you're just--
- What am I doing?
- You're just staring out the window.
Shane.
- That is so...
- Yeah. You look, you look kooky.
- Wow.
- Oh, that's my
favorite phrase. - Well, that's fun and freaky.
- All right, Let's go take a look at the, at the garden.
- Smells good.
(Abby laughs)
- [Abby] Aren't they so adorable.
- Yeah, nice and even, y'all.
- [Abby] Yeah, get your hands dirty.
- Gotta do it. Just wanna make sure we take advantage.
Oh yeah.
Do you guys know how much all the soil
on the entire planet weighs?
- [Abby] No.
- Nobody knows that. That was funny.
- [Abby] That was silly.
(door creaking)
Shane?
Babe?
(door creaking)
Shane?
(door creaking)
Babe, do you hear that?
Shane?
(door creaking)
Shane?
(door creaking)
Shane?
Shane. Shane, wake up.
What are you doing?
Are you okay?
- Mm-hmm.
Uh, hey guy (clears throat), hey guys, Shane here.
Uh, we got a crawlspace. Didn't know it when we bought it.
We're gonna take a look, see what we got
Check this out, y'all.
(whistles) Can you say hoarders?
Oh my gosh. Look at all this crap.
Wow, look how far back it goes there, y'all.
Holy cow. Wow.
Oh it's some sort of like old gardening equipment, I guess.
Abs is gonna put me to work with that, for sure.
Look at all this crap, y'all.
Wow, we have our work cut out for us,
but lots of potential in here, y'all.
See what we can do. You never know.
- [Abby] Babe? Is that you?
Babe?
Babe, are you okay?
Shane?
(Shane grumbles indistinctly)
What?
- I'm not sure.
- [Abby] Babe, what are you saying?
- I'm not sure.
- Babe? Babe, you're scaring me.
Shane.
Shane.
Shane, you're scaring me. Shane.
Babe. (gasps)
Wake up. Get off me.
(microphone static crackles)
- [Shane] What happened?
- [Abby] I don't know. You were sleepwalking again.
- [Shane] Oh my god. I'm, I'm sorry, babe. Are you okay?
- [Abby] No.
(static crackles)
- Be sure this is working.
And as I mentioned, we will record all of our sessions.
Okay. That's good, this one's all set.
Okay. Abby, Shane, it's nice to meet you
I'm Diane. I'm here to onboard your case
And together we can evaluate next steps.
- Great.
- Did you watch the videos?
- I did.
Well, I need more information,
but what I'm seeing here is likely parasomnia.
- [Shane] What the hell is that?
- Sleepwalking.
It can occur usually in the end rem cycle of sleep.
It could be triggered by a dream, a sound from outside,
or even movement from your sleeping partner.
How long has this been going on?
- Mm, wasn't it two weeks?
- I mean, ever since we moved into the new house.
- Oh, wow. First home?
- [Abby] Yeah.
- Congratulations. That makes sense.
Big life changes can be incident trigger
New job, new living situation, any sort of unique stressor.
- Mm. Oh, I actually slept walked as a kid.
- Mm.
- When my dad died.
But it, I wasn't weird.
I mean, it did, I don't think it lasted very long.
You have to ask my mom, I guess.
- Well, parasomnias are much more common in children.
We tend to outgrow them as adults.
So, I would like to escalate this
to an official sleep study, immediately.
- So what does that mean?
What, you're gonna be,
hook me up to electrodes and all that?
- Well, we would set up infrared cameras around your home
and we would record your sleepwalking
in the middle of the night.
- Seriously?
- Mm-hmm. The data would be invaluable.
- Great. Camera in the bedroom.
- But, I'm gonna be honest, this is a rare case.
- All right. - We need more information.
- Hey guys, I have to keep it down.
It's late, but I had an idea.
I can't go to bed yet, so I think
I'm gonna tackle this little,
I think secondary drainage stop, to like prevent overflow.
It's been taped up since we moved--
(object booms distantly)
Um, it's been taped up since we moved in
So I think I'm gonna take off this tape
and check out what underneath.
(object booms distantly)
Hold on a second.
(camera whirs)
What is that sound?
Oh god. Babe?
(floor creaks softly)
Babe?
(Shane snores lightly)
Oh, okay.
(sighs) Okay, so um, Shane did it again.
He, he slept on the floor.
(chuckles) Let's go wake him up.
Oh, god. Hey, Shane?
Babe, wake up. (laughs)
Um, you slept on the floor again.
- No I didn't.
- [Abby] Yes you did.
- Oh, god.
- [Abby] I thought you were just having a couple of beers
and coming back to bed.
- Yeah, me too. I'm probably gonna be sore tomorrow.
- [Abby] Oh my gosh. Come on, come on, let's get up.
We got a lotta work to do today.
- Hey y'all, so, the sleep institute sent us the cameras
for our sleep study, uh, to catch me sleepwalking,
or not sleepwalking.
Should be not too bad to install.
We'll pick a few different places.
So yeah, we'll get these bad boys thrown up
and catch the craziness that uh, that I'm doing.
Let's check it out.
Oh, Shane, you moron.
Hey babe, can you please bring me the Allen wrench
that's on the counter?
- [Abby] Yeah, coming.
- Thank you.
(Shane laughs)
(Shane groans)
I'm a moron.
Thank you babe. Thank you, thank you.
(camera whirs)
(Shane groans)
Good. Camera one, good to go.
All right, let the healing begin.
- That's really gonna be on all night?
- Hey, that's what you agreed to.
- I know, but-- - It's okay babe.
We can, we'll cut out whatever you aren't happy with.
- I know we record ourselves a lot,
but never while we sleep.
- I know.
(crickets chirp)
(siren wails distantly)
(static crackles)
(crickets chirp)
(object clatters)
(hands and knees scrape)
(Shane inhales)
(Shane exhales sharply)
What time you gotta get there?
Oh, I don't know, I don't think
you need to be there that early.
I mean, the traffic's terrible, but you know me.
Always early.
No, why?
(hands bang)
(laughs) That was so great. Oh my god.
Miss going out there.
This is bullshit.
(chair scrapes)
I told you never to come back here.
I will bury you. Do you understand me?
(chair scrapes and bangs)
(door creaks)
(static crackles)
- Oh my....
(Abby laughs)
- I have like, burns on my knees where,
I didn't know where they came from.
- (sighs) Shane, this is, you don't remember any of this?
- Nothing.
- Nothing. - Nothing.
Are you kid...
- Why are you climbing on the table?
- I don't know, babe.
- You're doing weird stuff. Weird, creepy things.
- This is why we did the study, I guess.
So I can watch this footage and see how much of an idiot I.
(crickets chirp softly)
(soft haunting music)
(feet shuffle)
(door clicks open and shut)
(crickets chirp)
- Shane?
Shane?
Shane.
(crickets chirp)
(Abby sighs)
Shane.
(crickets chirp)
Shane?
Shane.
(crickets chirp) (siren blares distantly)
Shane?
Babe.
Babe, are you in here?
Shane?
Oh my god.
Oh my god, he's in the alleyway.
Shane.
Shane.
Shane. Come here.
Come. What are you doing out here?
Come on, come on.
It's too cold.
- Hey y'all, Shane here.
We are messing with this in-wall furnace
that seemed to keep kicking out.
So we're gonna look in here
and see why that keeps happening.
The pilot light's definitely out.
Let me, well we're definitely getting a draft within there.
We'll have to go downstairs and see what we gotta do
to fill that or cover that up.
And then we can relight, relight this.
(laughs) Excuse me.
Oh, sorry, I uh (laughs), I lost my train of thought.
I'm exhausted. I, Abby found me in the alley last night.
That is where my adventures took me ther
So I am running on fumes.
Anyways, not your concern. Back to the furnace.
Let's go down to the basement
and figure out where this issue is and take care of it.
(object bangs) (Shane startles)
- Babe. Are you okay?
(sighs) Is that dirt?
- Yeah, I think so.
- (exhales sharply) Where did that come from?
- You know, how should I know, babe?
- Oh, there's so much of it.
- Hm. Let's check the cameras.
I mean, I...
God. I'm sorry, babe.
- It's fine, we'll look at the cameras.
Hey, babe? - Yeah.
- [Abby] Can you come in here for a sec?
- Of course.
- [Abby] Here.
- So this is the uh, this is the cause, huh?
Oh my god.
- Yeah, I think-- - Have you watched this?
- [Abby] Yeah, I watched it.
- What am I doing?
- [Abby] I don't know.
You're just, digging? - Moving dirt around.
- [Abby] You don't remember any of this?
- Nothing. What is going on?
Look how like, violent I am moving that dirt.
- [Abby] And you don't remember any of this?
- No. No, I don't.
(crickets buzz)
- Shane, you're going to hurt yourself.
- I'm not, I haven't hurt you. I'm not being aggressive.
Doc, tell her this is not a big deal.
- You're not concerned about walking outta the house,
breaking things?
- Well then do something. I mean, you're the specialist.
- [Diane] I think it's time to just consider medication.
- No. What?
- [Abby] Just hear, hear her out.
- The right sleep aid can limit movement
Mild relaxants that keep your body
from reacting to your dreams.
- No thanks, Nurse Ratched.
All right, no, I'm not taking drugs. I'm out.
(door clicks open)
- I'm sorry.
You okay? (door clicks shut)
- All right, guys, Abs was talking about this pull and drop,
she called it, and that we may need to replace it.
Shouldn't be anything that is too difficult
to just cut from a new piece.
Just another thing though that we are gonna add to the list,
once we can--
(object bangs loudly)
Did y'all hear that?
Must've just been me.
(object bangs loudly)
Abby?
Hey Abs, did you hear that?
(object bangs loudly)
All right guys, so it seems like that sound
was probably just like a critter,
or some sort of animal or something,
but I don't see anything at the moment.
What's that?
Look at that. Can y'all see that?
What is that?
Huh? Let's check this out.
What?
That is crazy.
Let's take it upstairs.
(lid thuds)
(crickets chirp)
(door creaks)
Bury Eleanor, bury Eleanor,
bury Eleanor.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on Earth as it is in heaven.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Deliver us from evil. Deliver us from evil.
Deliver us from evil. Deliver us from evil.
Wait, wait for it. Wait for it, watch.
Hold on.
- [Abby] Mm-hmm.
- [Shane] Hold on.
There, right there. What was that?
- I don't know.
- [Shane] What am I, telekinesis?
- Babe, ever heard of a draft? It was probably a draft.
- [Shane] A draft?
- We-- - Opens, opens doors?
- We sleep with the windows open like, all the time.
- Babe. - Because we like
the fresh air and we wanna let that in.
- [Shane] All right, give me a break.
What about all the stuff in the basement
Something is going on in this house.
- Oh my god. That's just old stuff.
Found in an old house. - In this creepy box?
With like-- - It's a,
it's an old house, babe.
Come on.
Can I eat my lunch in peace, please?
- Yeah.
Hey, Dr. Reeves, sitting here just sorta
going over everything that's been happening.
Um, still sleepwalking. (laughs)
It's been ridiculous.
I mean, it's just, it's, it's been unbelievable.
I mean, I'm, I'm, I'm mouthing strange words
in a voice that's not even my own.
I think there was some, some Bible verse
I don't even, I haven't, I don't go to church.
Like, Abby's getting just completely fed up
with everything that's happening,
and quite honestly, I mean, so am I.
I don't know what this is doing, if anything at all.
I mean, it seems like you're just sorta documenting
my craziness, but then I, I don't even know
if you're getting any of this or you're not getting
any of this-- (object bangs)
And then like, shit like that's happenin
(crickets buzz)
(static crackles)
(hammer banging) (glass shatters)
- (gasps) Oh my god!
Shane!
- [Shane] What? What?
- [Abby] You broke my ceramics.
- [Shane] No I, did I?
- [Abby] Yes.
- [Shane] What?
- Look.
- I'm so sorry. (Abby gasps)
I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- No.
Um, things aren't easy.
He's breaking things.
He broke some of my ceramics that I worked really hard on.
I looked at some of the footage
and he was just staring at me for hours.
I'm scared. I'm so scared.
I, I'm scared to go to bed and I--
- Sorry, uh, made some tea if you would like some.
- Oh. Thanks, babe.
Oh.
(sighs) Oh, god.
(knocking at door)
- [Ryan] Gonna let us in?
- Hey! - Hi!
- Come on in. - Hi.
- [Abby] Welcome.
- What's up dude? Ah! - Oh my gosh.
You have a house.
- Hi. - Congratulations.
- Congratulations. - Wow.
You guys are adults.
- [Shane] I'm amazing. We got champagne, thank you.
- Yeah. - We have a house.
- [Shane] Not bad, right?
- This is awesome.
- I want one of these.
- Yeah, me too. Me too.
Daddy just needs a job. - Oh look at that right there.
(knocking) There's nothing under it?
- [Shane] No, if it's up to Abs though,
we're gonna put in a,
a real one. - You could put like,
isn't it cool, how it's like kind of a curve?
- Yes. There's a lotta cute arches around here.
- Yeah. - Super.
- A lotta arches, a lotta corners, with cameras? What the?
- Because I've been sleepwalking.
- Uh, okay. What?
- I don't recall sleepwalking
since I was, uh-- - Thanks, babe.
- You're welcome.
- [Shane] Abs doesn't like this conversation already.
- Babe, you want tea too?
- Yes, please. - Okay.
- What? You're making it sound like it's a big deal, like--
- Yeah, I don't get it.
- It's uh-- - Okay.
- [Shane] You know, it's, it's, apparently it's gotten
pretty intense, and uh--
- So you wanna like, watch yourself the next day,
like bumbling around the house?
- I am a part of, thank you, a part of a sleep study.
- Give me the camera. - Yeah.
- I wanna hear more about this.
- Okay, wait, (stammers) I have so many questions.
- [Shane] Yes. Yep.
- Do you remember when you sleepwalk?
- Nothing. Not a thing.
- Wow.
- Yeah, we, we sort of went that directi
'cause uh, Abby was finding me in unique places and,
and doing interesting things.
- Like the kitchen cupboard? - Like what?
- What do you mean, unique places?
- Finding him like staring out the windo
or at the foot of the bed.
Lotta weird things-- - Creepy?
- Yeah, sure, creepy, um--
- [Ryan] Yeah, I mean, Shane's always had that vibe
so it doesn't sound--
- Stop it. Quit teasing. - Ugh!
- It's not that big of a deal.
It's just a study for a few weeks.
We'll get some money.
Yeah. - Yeah. Yes.
- So are we, like-- - Is it fine, Shane?
Like? (laughs)
- Why don't, but like, why don't we talk to them
about the other stuff that's going on?
There's some-- - Wait wait, wait, wait, wait.
What other stuff?
- Babe? - I mean, look--
- This isn't all me here. - God.
- I snore.
Like, we all got night stuff. - Horribly. Snores horribly.
- Dude, there's, there's doors that are opening.
We have the footage. We can literally show them the footage.
There's doors opening and closing by themselves--
- They're not, it's an old house.
You know, old doors-- - Sounds like you guys have
a ghost. - Ooh.
- Oh my god.
It's an old house. We sometimes sleep with the windows open.
It's, you know, it gets drafty
in here, like-- - That's your problem,
ghosts come in windows.
- There's things going on here. That's all I'm gonna say.
There's things that are, that are unexplainable.
We could show 'em, like I, we could show 'em the footage.
- No, that's not to show-- - Let's show 'em the footage.
No, that's not to show. Just, I (scoffs)
Who's hungry? (all talking)
Let's bring out lunch. - Let's have lunch.
- Listen, there's no ghost. Okay?
It's just, it's an old house. He's stressed out.
This isn't easy, what we're doing.
- Totally, totally. - Yeah, yeah, yep.
I know-- - Well?
(ice clinking)
- (sighs) Well, here I am, ghosty ghost. Huh?
Casper? (laughs)
What, what, you can only mess with me when I'm sleeping?
Hmm?
Not an easy target right now. Is that the deal?
There you go again. See that?
Is that you talking to me right now?
Is that what's happening?
(crickets buzz)
Come on, I'm waiting. This is what you want.
Here I am.
No? No, huh-uh.
- [Abby] Shane, there is no ghost. Come to bed.
(door slams)
- She said there's no ghost, and that I should go to bed.
I think there is a ghost.
Maybe another night.
(crickets chirp)
(soft eerie music)
(Shane startles)
- What was that?
(crickets chirp)
(static crackles)
Okay, so I think I figured out
what I wanna do with the kitchen, finall
Um, there's a fridge here. I'll show you guys.
I'm thinking of putting it where you guys are,
moving the dishwasher here.
And then I wanna extend some counter spa
I have right here-- - Hey, babe, look.
You gotta check this out, I got proof.
I, you have to look at this.
- Okay, babe, can we talk about this later?
I'm doing a video. - Hey, we can,
we can do this in a sec.
We can finish in a sec--
- Okay. Listen-- - You have to.
Babe, this shovel fell over by itself.
I'm not crazy. Okay?
We, just, look at--
- Let's look at it later.
Okay, let's do, we gotta do this video.
You haven't been very helpful over the past few weeks.
And we gotta, we're so behind on putting out videos.
- Fine.
(Abby groans)
(crickets buzz)
(high-pitched camera whirring)
(door creaks)
(metal clanging distantly)
- Shane?
Shane.
(sheets rustle)
(Abby sighs)
(metal clangs distantly)
(door creaks)
Shane?
Shane?
(soft eerie music)
Shane?
Shane?
(soft eerie music)
Babe.
(door creaks)
Shane.
(tea kettle whistles)
I found Shane outside.
I, I don't know what he's doing.
(shovel scrapes)
(crickets chirp)
Shane.
(crickets chirp)
Shane, baby, let's go back inside.
(crickets chirp) (Shane mutters softly)
Shane?
(Shane mutters softly)
Shane.
(Shane mutters softly)
What?
Shane, baby.
(dramatic scary music)
Come on, let's go back inside.
Put the shovel down.
(deep eerie music)
Come on. Just, please, you're scaring me
(shovel thuds)
(crickets buzzing)
Well, he's going back inside.
Um, I don't know if he'll remember this tomorrow morning.
Shane.
You okay, babe?
(Abby sighs)
(door creaks)
Let's get you to bed.
(classical opera music on stereo)
(stereo clicks)
(Abby sighs)
- So, Mr. Manning, Ms. Eastman,
can I call you Shane and Abby?
- Mm-hmm. - Yeah.
- Great. You can call me Alan.
Dr. Mercer's a, a little formal.
- Thank you.
- So, I've spoken to Diane, she's filled me in.
I've looked at your case history.
I know parasomnia can be extremely stressful,
on both people.
Abby, I understand that, you know, this is hard on you too.
And so, while the therapy is focused on Shane,
um, I want you to feel involved.
We're a team here. Okay, gang?
All right, so Shane um, there's no real clinical evidence
about why people sleepwalk, why they have parasomnia.
And from my anecdotal evidence,
this is not clinical evidence, but anecdotally,
from the patients that I've treated,
I've found that it usually is a result
of sort of a suppressed childhood trauma
And so I know about your dad, Shane,
but why don't you give me the CliffsNotes version,
in your own words, about what happened with your dad.
- I mean, yeah, so I, I did sleepwalk as a kid,
and it started happening
after my father passed away from cancer.
- [Alan] And how long did he have the cancer?
- (sighs) I mean, it came on pretty quickly.
I think it was probably only a, a, a few months
after we found out.
- Okay.
- I was really young.
I don't, I don't remember specifically.
- [Alan] Well, that's a very traumatic experience
for someone that young.
- Yeah. - So that makes sense.
- But again, I slept walked, and then I went what,
decades without.
- Sure, but moving into a new house is obviously stressful
and you've been posting a lot on your socials, okay?
That's a lot of stress for any young couple to go through.
And in my mind,
that is probably what's triggering the parasomnia.
Explain to me, Abby, how are you feeling about all this,
and how is it affecting your relationshi
- I mean, it, it hasn't been easy.
(sighs) I am afraid to go to sleep at night.
I don't know what's, what I'm gonna wake up to.
I don't know if Shane is next to me all night long.
I keep waking up to weird sounds and weird noises.
- Yes. 'Cause there's things going on in the house.
- Yeah, that you're causing.
- I see you--
- There's something going on in our hous
That's the obvious answer.
- Okay, well-- - It isn't an obvious answer.
- I don't-- - You sound insane.
- How do you explain the stuff that's going on?
- It's you. Do you not see that?
- It's me? - You're the one--
- It's me walking and closing the door when nobody's in,
nobody's near the door. - Okay, who,
when I walk to the-- - It's me putting on
record player, when clearly nobody is near the record--
- Okay, here's-- - Who's always there?
- Let me jump in here for a second.
- This is just, this is all in me?
Who is talking to me?
How does this work?
Do you, do you want me to start? Uh, hello?
Are you in the room?
This is ridiculous.
(chair scrapes)
(deep haunting music)
(Ouija board clatters)
(crickets chirp)
Here it is, y'all. I have proof.
Check this out.
Look at this, scratched out.
You got J, you got O-H-N, in blood.
I don't know what other word that makes.
Clearly, somebody's trying to talk to me whose name is John.
Dr. Reeves, Dr. Mercer, here you go.
You got me talking to all these people
and the answer is right in front of us.
Please, anybody give me a different a suggestion
to what this could be.
What could this, what could this possibly be,
that, that it's not somebody trying to talk to me?
- What the hell are you doing? - This is clear...
Check this. Look at this, look.
- What is that?
- That is proof, is what that is.
- Babe--
- Proof of what? - J-O-H-N. John.
Scratched out in-- - Please, get that out
of my house.
Get that out of my house!
- Look at this. This is proof.
- Proof of what?
That you did this? - Proof...
You think I did this?
- I know you did it. Who else is gonna do it?
- We have physical proof that somebody
is trying to speak to me, and clearly his name is John.
- Show me the video of this person doing this
since we have all these cameras up.
- It's not, it's not--
- Who did it? - I could show you video
of this thing flying off the table.
- Oh my god.
- But it didn't catch it, of course.
(static crackling drowns out Shane speaking)
But, I could show you it flying off the dining--
(door clicks) (bird caws)
I mean, I, hmm.
Anybody know a psychic or a medium?
I need some help. I need some answers in this house.
So, yes, I'm reaching out to you all
to help a brother out.
I don't know where else to turn.
So, here I am, talking to you y'all.
Appreciate anything you could do.
(camera beeps)
- Hey guys, so, I think today I am gonna start
tackling the fireplace.
It's faux, it's fake, which is okay
'cause we're thinking we could still put
an electric fireplace with a plugin.
I will have to look into perhaps some health hazards
because I think it's still blows out lik
some sort of smoke. (broom clatters)
Hmm.
- Hey, babe. - Yeah?
- So I called the real, called the realtor,
and I asked to see if, you know, John and Eleanor
used to live here-- - Oh my god.
- And as it turns-- - Shane, Shane! Shut up.
If there's a ghost in this house, I don't care.
I don't care. I don't wanna fuck with it
I think you're fucked in the head.
I think you're fucked in the head,
and that's what maybe what we need to deal with.
(Abby sighs)
(Abby sighs)
Babe?
- Hmm?
- I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.
- It's okay.
- You know I love you, right?
- Yeah. I'm sorry too.
(crickets buzzing)
Hey y'all, Shane here with my buddy Ryan, electrician.
Gonna take a look at the uh, at the box back here
and see how screwed we are on this purchase.
- I can already tell by-- - Tell me what's up.
Tell me what's up.
- Looking at the outside of this thing is, it's trash.
- [Shane] Oh, come on.
- Dude, look at, these fuses are like from the 40s.
- [Shane] That's why I called you.
- Like the 1840s.
What you gotta call like, a time traveler to fix this.
- Yeah. - Look at your,
look man, you're pulling way too much power for the house.
- So what do I gotta do?
- [Ryan] Well, you gotta hire me to fix this,
'cause I need a job. - I thought that's what
I was doing today, but apparently not.
- Well, that's part of what you're doing today.
The other part is what's like,
what's like the real deal with this sleepwalking stuff?
- [Shane] Dude, it's gotten, it's gotten crazy.
Like it's only gotten more intense.
The other night, I'm messing around with
stay with me here, right?
- I'm here.
- [Shane] I'm messing around with an Ouija board,
right and-- - You're messing around
with a, what?
- Let me, let me finish the story, dog.
I'm messing around with the Ouija board, right?
And this thing spells out the name John.
Right. It spells-- - Very normal name.
- It is an extremely normal name.
It also though happens to be,
something to do with this place.
I'm telling you. Right?
I, I'm, I'm saying things about the 1940
I'm saying the name Eleanor, which doesn't make any sense.
I'm talking about the Japanese.
Like, all this stuff makes zero sense. It's happening.
You can't tell Madison.
You definitely cannot say anything to Abby.
You can check this shit out
and figure out what is going on with me.
Something is going on.
- [Ryan] Part of it's the power, no joke
But like, this other stuff I got--
- You're not wrong. Obviously, yes, yes.
- The power'll go out-- - Dude, I'm out here
in the middle of the night digging in the garden.
- What? - Digging, right over here
with a shovel, outta nowhere.
- [Ryan] Planting stuff, or?
- Nothing, just digging, moving dirt around.
- [Ryan] At least be productive about it
- Hey man, thanks.
Have I ever been this crazy about anything like this?
Anything supernatural? Anything?
- No. - No. This is legit.
Something is happening to me.
I'm going to get to the bottom of it.
The next logical step is, sounds crazy, is a medium.
- [Ryan] Are your followers watching this right now?
- No, we can cut all this out.
- You guys, we are back with another episode
of Maddie and Abby, chickin' and chattin
And all the viewers want to know,
Abby, how does it feel to be a homeowner
- Um, it's great. It's great.
Um, it's a lot to do, a lot of responsibility.
It's much harder than I thought it was gonna be.
- What's going on with you?
All you've ever talked about since I've known you
is owning a house, owning a house, owning a house.
- Just this, all this stuff with, with Shane.
It's just like so freaking hard.
Like, I feel like he's just forgotten like, about us,
about like, about me and him
and like what we're supposed to do,
and like what we said we were gonna set out to do
with this house.
And, I don't know what to do.
We have the sleep specialist, we have the therapist.
We're recording every single moment of our lives now.
- Do you think it's helping?
- I don't know. I, I can't tell anymore.
There's some days that it seems like everything is fine
and then it starts again.
- Right.
- They recommended maybe he can take some sleeping pills.
I'm for it, but he doesn't wanna take it
I don't know, he's just so convinced tha
it's something else.
I'm scared to go to sleep.
- Really?
- I feel like half the time I'm in dange
- You know you can always come stay with Ryan and I.
Always.
- I know, yeah, I know but, it's this--
- I know you don't want to do that.
But, if it anything gets bad-- - This is our baby.
This is our baby, and I don't know, I feel like I can't,
you know, I can't leave her, I don't kno
- You're okay.
Things are hard sometimes, you know, but
- Yeah.
- You love each other. You'll work it ou
(static buzzes)
(crickets chirp)
(static buzzes) (soft deep eerie music)
- Leave me alone.
Shane.
What are you, what are you doing?
(water sprays) (Shane groans)
(crickets buzzing)
(static crackles)
I finally ordered some wallpaper to accent this wall.
Could that be it? Is it here already?
Hey.
- Hi there, um, I'm Gabriel. I'm here for Shane.
- [Abby] Oh uh, he's not here right now.
- Oh, well he asked me to come and look at the house
for the energy of the space.
- Oh, you're a medium. Sorry, I'm doing a video.
Uh, come in. He should be here soon.
- Beautiful home you have here.
- Yeah uh, we just moved in and we're still in progress
of getting everything ready.
Do you wanna wait for him to get here or
- I don't necessarily have to wait for him.
I can feel the energy of the space,
and get an idea-- - Okay, sure.
- Of what I'm picking up.
If you don't mind, I brought my crystals
- Okay.
- That helps me ground myself.
Really nice energy here.
- Sorry, can you say that again?
(both chuckle)
- I'm getting the sense that there's a lotta warmth here.
- Wow. - Yeah.
Very homey here.
A lotta love in here.
- Wow that's-- - Which is very nice.
I'm not picking up anything at all.
It's really quite, quite um, wonderful here.
Tell your husband he has nothing to worry about.
- I will. - Because your home
is grounded on a lot of love.
- [Abby] Oh hey, babe. This is your friend.
- Medium? - Yeah.
Gabriel. - How you doin'? Shane.
- Uh, I'm, crystals, uh.
- Oh, of course.
- [Abby] Gabriel, please tell him
what you were just telling me.
- Yes, please tell me what you were just telling uh, Abs.
- Um, the energy in the house is good, but there's,
there's something around you.
Your aura is-- - Wait, wait--
- Completely-- - Hold, hold that thought.
Let me, let me just, let me just grab this here.
Can you, can you just expand on that? What was that?
- There's something on you that is not human.
You have-- - Are you hearing this, Abs?
Are you, are you?
- Uh, the energy around you is, it's just not good.
- Gabriel. (sighs)
- I knew it, I knew it. I'm not crazy, I'm not crazy.
I told you, Abs, babe. I told you.
Something is going on with me.
There's thing, there's something here, as we speak.
- You, you're being so selfish.
- [Shane] I'm being selfish?
He's an expert, babe.
He just said literally there is something attached to me.
- You bring-- - Babe, I'm trying
to fix the problem. - You bring a medium?
Into my house??
- [Shane] Look, I'm sorry. Okay?
I mean, what else do you need to see
to understand what I'm going through?
This is not in my head.
(bird caws)
(crickets buzzing)
(object thuds repeatedly)
- Babe?
Shane?
(knife thuds repeatedly)
Babe, what are you doing?
(knife thuds repeatedly)
Babe?
(knife thuds repeatedly)
Shane.
Shane, what are you doing?
Babe?
(knife thuds repeatedly)
Shane.
(knife thuds repeatedly)
(Abby gasps)
Babe, what're you doing?
- [Shane] Sanctify yourself.
(Abby crying)
Drink the blood of the lamb.
(scary music)
(Abby crying)
Drink.
Drink.
(Abby coughs and gasps)
(Abby whimpers)
Abby?
Abby!
(deep scary music)
(soft tense buzzing)
- You're going to inhale through your nose,
exhale through your mouth,
almost as if you're entering a meditative state.
And I will guide you through the hypnosis. Okay?
Okay, Shane. So just focus on that middle dot there, okay?
If your eyes wanna close, they can.
Breathe in.
Exhale out through your mouth.
Try to relax your body a little bit. Goo
Now, Shane,
tell me the circumstances surrounding your father's death.
- He shot my dad.
- Who shot him?
- We were coming home from the basketball game.
A man carjacked my dad.
I was in the backseat.
He shot my dad, and threw him outta the car
and took off with me still in the car.
I think he must've got to a red light or a stop sign,
and he realized I was in the backseat.
I had a, my pocket knife. I guess I lunged at him and
he started laughing at me.
- What happened next, Shane?
- I opened the door, and I ran,
and I let...
- It's okay.
- And I let my dad die on the street.
- You didn't let your dad die.
- He shot him.
- The murderer killed your father, Shane
You did nothing wrong.
- And I just ran. - This is not your fault.
- I just ran.
- Shane, you were a little boy. You were supposed to run.
You did nothing wrong. (Shane cries)
Okay, Shane, I'm going to count to three
and when I say the word three again,
you're going to take a deep inhale and exhale
and come out of your hypnotic state.
Okay, Shane?
One,
two,
three.
- Babe. - I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. (cries)
- Why'd you keep that from me?
- I don't know, I'm sorry, I just,
well there's never really a good time
to tell somebody your dad got murdered.
I know, I-- - Babe.
- I should have told you.
- I'm the last person that's gonna judge you.
- I know that.
And, we got to the root of the problem.
So that's-- - I hope so.
- Whatever we gotta do.
I will stop my ghost adventures.
And that is how you put a water heater in the,
in the house.
So we now (claps) can have hot water tonight when we shower.
Yay. - Yeah.
- Awesome. - It's been rough.
Cold showers, not my thing.
- Not anymore. Till next time.
(Abby laughs) Oh my god.
Can that be the last one we do?
- Yeah, yeah.
I think that's fine. - Please. Thank you.
- Um. - Oh.
- Are you hungry?
- You know me. - Okay.
- I'm always hungry.
- Should I order something?
- Please.
- Okay. (object bangs)
- Did you hear that?
- Yeah, I did.
- What did that sound like to you?
- I don't know.
- Sounded like the water heater.
Okay, guys, don't see anything leaking. All looks good.
Look at what, what is,
what is that?
(camera thuds)
This can't...
This is mine.
(camera clatters)
This is my knife. (breathes shakily)
- Okay, so?
- From that night.
- What night?
- The carjacking but, that's not possibl
I wanna sell this house.
- No, this is our house. We're not going anywhere.
- What more do you need to see?
- I'm sorry. I love you but it's, it's all in your head.
We can't just pick up and go. We can't sell this house.
- I don't know what else you need to see
We need to get outta this house, now.
(camera whirring)
(deep tense music)
(static crackles)
- Looks like we won't be able to afford our kitchen remodel,
like I thought.
I called several contractors
and they're way, way out of our budget.
(knocking at door)
- Hi, I am sorry to disturb you.
I thought it was important that I come
and let you know that I did some researc
and looked into-- - Gabriel I--
- The history of this house.
And, there's something I think you should know,
and you should tell your husband,
that I found out that the owner of this house, John,
murdered his wife-- - I, okay, I'm sorry,
I'm sorry. - And there's potential--
- I'm gonna have you-- - They never found the body--
- Please, please, I, I just don't believe in this stuff.
Please stop putting this information out there
and putting it in my husband's head.
He doesn't need this. Okay, he's on medication.
- Okay. - And we're,
we're working on it.
- I understand. - Thank you for stopping by.
- Okay. - I appreciate your concern.
Thank you. - Just, please let me know.
- [TV Announcer] US took two in the book
as the Thunder leads buzzer to buzzer.
- [Man On TV] Does Sal know that you used to date Dwayne?
- [Woman On TV] (laughs) That was--
(loud upbeat music on TV) (person yells on TV)
- [Woman On TV] Well, it's eight o'clock
and it's still light.
- [Man On TV] A lotta good the extra day
- [TV Reporter] After several tech companies
slashed their outlook, stalled economy
at close of business yesterday.
Around 9:20 AM Eastern time, the two-year note
rose 1.75 points, 99--
(loud hard rock music on TV)
- [Man On TV] Look, there comes one of them now.
They're coming to get you, Barbara.
- [Woman On TV] Stop it. You're ignorant
(screams) No!
No. Johnny, help me, help!
(intense scary music on TV)
(door creaks)
(intense suspenseful music on TV)
(soft suspenseful music)
(Shane yells indistinctly)
- Shane.
(Shane yells indistinctly)
Shane!
(Shane yells indistinctly)
Shane! Shane, wake up!
Shane! (crying)
(Abby gasping)
Are you awake?
- [Shane] Yes.
- Shane. (breathes heavily)
(bold music in distance)
So, I can't decide on what color to repaint the bedroom.
And I was thinking maybe you guys can help with that.
You guys can send some suggestions,
some color suggestions. - Hey babe, did you check
the footage from last night?
- Um, no. Why?
I haven't seen it yet. - Because there's
nothing there, it's gone.
- Oh, that's weird. Maybe ran outta battery?
- Ah!
- Oh my god, it's okay. It's okay.
You've been doing so great.
House is coming along.
- Mm-hmm. (clears throat)
- It's okay. I'm sure there's nothing on there.
You know?
'Cause you've been taking your pills and...
- Yeah, yeah. - Yeah.
- Okay.
- Okay, I think we figured out the placement
of these cute little flowers.
What do you think, babe?
- Uh, oh, yeah. No, they look great.
- You okay? - Mm-hmm.
- You sure? - Mm-hmm.
- I'm proud of you. You're doing great.
- Thanks.
- Okay, well we're gonna start digging now.
(soft eerie buzzing)
(alarm blares loudly)
(Shane and yell frantically)
(door slams)
- (crying) Shane! Shane!
Shane. (cries)
Shane.
(deep ominous music) (Abby gasping)
Shane!
Shane?
Shane?
(static crackles)
(Abby panting)
Shane?
Shane? (panting)
(Abby breathes heavily)
Shane?
Shane?
Shane?
(dramatic swoosh)
