So I came up with this sweet-ass piece that I'm pumped at.

And when you feel like it's in your grasp, it's crazy.

It's a lot of pressure.

I really wanted to .

my last tattoo to be me, so.

My plan here is to do something that you don't normally see in this competition.

Taking my own route and doing my style is a huge risk here.

In 12 hours, I could definitely cover from here to here.

It's kind of like just putting your heart out there and hoping that it's accepted.

This is the biggest elimination tattoo we've ever done.

My god, that's beautiful.

It's going to have some tails.

But I'm just going to freehand them.

This is huge.

It curves right around your elbow.

It fits perfectly.

Nobody wants to be this close to the finale and pack it up now.

I don't mean you could ask what's been doing better.

Doing a 12 hour tattoo like this is not an amateur level thing.

And just your understanding of how to approach something on this scale is a totally different

animal.

We are so much farther than anybody else.

I'm choosing to do more of a Japanese-style frog flying a koi fish kite.

I'm going to bust my ass and make sure that every inch of this tattoo is absolutely flawless.

Josh is definitely going to be the hardest person to beat for me.

He's not only fat, but he's also a great illustrator.

I took my canvas totally into consideration.

She's a beautiful lady, so I gave her a beautiful feminine bird carrying one of my lotus flowers.

It's going to have, like, black shading in it.

It better be.

That bird looks great, but I don't want to end up looking like a dirty bird.

Aside from tattooing and technical application, I think this is a big battle of artistry.

Technical application should not be an issue unless someone really drops the ball, which I

don't assume so at this point.

My biggest card here is artistry.

To put real emotion into something is an extremely hard thing to do.

But that's what I'm going to pull off here.

Is that highlight under her chin going to be colored?

That was me wiping stuff into it.

So I already made a mistake there.

Always wipe away.

So I start wiping the canvas's skin off.

And I don't know if I'm being too abrasive or wiping too many times.

But now I notice that there's a couple of small areas of trauma towards the bottom of her

arm.

Man, my heart is racing, and it's making me really panic.

I've put so much heart into this tattoo.

I hate to think that a couple of spots of trauma are going to be what hold me from making

it to the finale.

This is a lot harder style than I thought it was.

I have an incredible fiance back home.

We recently had a daughter.

So being where I'm at now is a really big deal.

But it's not just a big deal to me.

They shot, and it got to me.

Let's get to it and take a look at your 12-hour tattoos.

Let's start with Jason.

This girl came out beautiful.

I lean more towards the emotional side of art.

I like to portray something that people want to ask what's going on.

You as an artist really shine here.

It's well illustrated.

I love the way the top of the head breaks, and you have that light blue glow.

That's a really nice complementary color to the gray in the face.

And it also shows through the same almost the same color in her eyes.

Really cool play, really nice artistic look on this.

But to try to saturate that light of a color in a one session tattoo is a tough call.

Anytime you have needles that are close together and soft skin, it's just begging for the

skin to come up in the middle of those needles.

And that's what happens here.

You get an overworked effect very, very quickly.

One.

I really like this tattoo, man.

It definitely has a vibrant look.

It definitely has a cool, illustrative layout to it.

I love the black, rich ends of these wings, cohesive all the way around.

They flow really nice with the back of the lady's arm, and then the positioning of the front

wing.

The way it comes down and rides her bicep is really nice.

It's pretty perfect.

The attention to detail in this thing is top notch.

Your blacks are saturated.

You have some really cool techniques in your gray shading and show a lot of different textures

and different effects from the skin to the hair to the feathers.

You pretty much bring the traditional Japanese into the modern era with your own style on

All of the color application on this tattoo is beautiful.

But what I like is that you do some of this color application solid wall to wall.

We are now going to critique your six-hour tattoos.

Josh, you're in the finale.

Let's take a look at your tattoo anyway.

You were assigned a fine line, black and gray, realistic clipper ship.

The majority of your line work is pretty straight and tight, and it definitely looks like

this thing is blowing in the wind.

This tattoo came out super clean, really legible, probably better than any other ship we've

seen done in this room.

Moving along, two spots in the finale remain.

Three artists stand.

Rolly.

Part of this challenge was to challenge you to draw something, and .

They gave you something that's hard to draw.

The anatomy is pretty jacked.

Both arms, both shoulders are weird.

The neck connecting to the shoulders, totally crazy.

And then the head is huge.

That nose and where the center of the lips fall are smeared sideways.

You highlighted this really oversized cheek where it looks like she got rocked.

This one really got away from me.

One.

The look of it's beautiful.

The texture that you get in the muzzle, that's the toughest trick of all.

And you shine.

The eye that's on the right actually looks like it comes down lower than the other eye.

And we don't see a pupil on that eye.

In the real photo, you can't see it because it's so close to the line.

I would have took some liberties there to make the eyes more definitive.

It kills it for me.

Jason.

The turn on the spine, that part of the fish, you do pretty well.

But the ear is pushed way too far up into the furrowed brows of the dragon.

Your fins are up too high.

Your black and gray in all of the scales, not nice.

Way too grainy.

All of the black in the scales, equally nervous.

Two eyes nervous.

On the 12-hour tattoo, Rolly pulls off some amazing stuff.

That face is beautiful.

The shading is great.

Beautiful eyes.

But out of the six-hour tattoos, Rolly's obviously has the drawing issues.

I really love Jason's 12-hour tattoo.

I'm not psyched on the dragon koi.

Technical problems in both of Jason's tattoos.

But I look at the face on this surrealistic take on a woman that Jason did, and it is pretty

damn near perfect and flawless.

The face is the best face of any face we're looking at, but there's skin trauma.

I dropped the ball.

I wouldn't even begin to deny that I dropped the ball.

I know for a fact that I can apply any touch that I will.

Really, I got to say, man, you dropped the ball pretty big on the pinup girl.

This is a big notch out of your arsenal that you had such trouble just doing something that

is probably one of the most commonly used themes of tattoo history for 100 years.

We've debated this all season.

Artistry versus technique.

Rolly has always applied a fantastic tattoo.

Jason's already proven to have great technical application in this competition.

But that application doesn't just lie in the ink and the skin.

There's something important in the formation of the tattoo from the drawing table.

But this is a tattoo competition.

It is.

The koi fish all the way through is technically a mess.

For me, it is a matter of principle.

Skin drama, I'm not having it.

Based on what has impressed me the most out of these four tattoos, in terms of beauty and

evoking emotion, my vote's for Jason.

really, really torn, because, Jason, you do have something that a lot of people don't have

as far as your creativity and your passion for art.

But technical problems are a big miss.

My vote is for Rolly.

Jason, man, everything that you've overcome, coming from where you had nobody to rely on,

and you put all of that in me.

It shakes me to my core, and it inspires me.

Finalists, for your final challenge, you will each be assigned a master canvas and will have

24 hours to tattoo a full-color chest piece.

What?

You can tattoo in any style, but to win the title, you must tattoo not one, but three iconic

creatures locked in a battle to the death.

A battle royale.

With an eagle, a snake, and a dragon, it'll take a true master to flawlessly capture this

epic fight for survival.

Typically, this is a compositional nightmare.

The eagle and the snake and the dragon have to stand apart, all be clearly legible, a lot

of anatomy, a lot of dimension, a lot of proportion issues.

Every little mistake is going to be a nail in your coffin.

How creative you decide to get, that is all in your court.

I'm going to be the dragon, and I'm going to up.

The biggest, strongest, loudest, meanest.

I'm here to win it.

Coaches, you've been leading your teams every step of the way.

for advantages in your own fight for $100,000.

To prove that you're the best of the best, you will also receive a master canvas and must

go head to head in the most brutal test yet, a 24-hour head tattoo.

A head tattoo.

I've done many of them.

They hurt.

This is insanity.

The head is really difficult.

You're basically tattooing a spear.

Delay any flat design out on the head is really tough.

The style and subject are completely up to you.

To be honest, I'm a little scared.

I tattooed two heads, and it kind of worked out.

At the finale, kind of is not going to cut it.

With 24 hours, you should be able to really trick this thing out, make sure everything is

bulletproof.

But that's not all.

In addition to your master canvas, you must also face off at the finale.

with a final six-hour tattoo.

What is going on here?

The entire competition, you've been fighting for control in the master face-off.

And now it's time to call your shots.

For each artist that you've coached to the top three, you will get to call one shot.

Style, subject, or placement.

I want to call the shot on either style or subject.

Those will be the advantages that I can trip up the other coaches with the most.

Based on the order that the artist from your team made it into the finale, you will each draw

a skull.

The skull you pick will determine which shot you get to call for the master face-off.

All three of these advantages, if played right, can do just as equal damage.

DJ, your artists are in the first spot in the finale.

That means you get first pick.

I'm going to choose one of my favorite things to draw, full-bodied snake.

DJ already did a snake in the first Masters Challenge, and he lost.

And he's going to lose again.

One of my biggest things in creating my art is flow.

And I feel very nice, big, open area to do it is a thigh.
