- So last week, Abhora and
Kendra were in the bottom

and I'm so glad that
Abhora's gonna go home.

Abhora do you think went home?

- I'm really torn, I don't know.

- So, Kendra's look
I was getting sci-fi

but like from just
the look alone,

I wasn't getting the
horror part of it.

- She was doing a whore-or.

- But it's clear
that Kendra like

just like for this
challenge specifically,

like just was not
prepared on the same level

as everybody else was.

And you know what,
she never lost hope.

She never got a bad attitude.

She was like, I'm
gonna go out there

even though I don't

swords, prepare your spells,

and answer the call to adventure

for this week's
"Dungeons and Drag Queens

Level Two: The
Underdark" challenge.

(contestants squealing)

- For this floorshow,

we're going to teleport
your drag characters

to a realm of sword and sorcery.

And you must create a fantasy
look inspired by wizards,

barbarians, warlocks, and elves.

And then model your looks live

on location at the
renaissance faire village.

(contestants cheering)

- Yes.

- As a second part
to your challenge,

you'll be split
up into two teams

and will to memorize

and act out a live action
role playing adventure

in our underdark maze.

- The what?

(Swanthula laughing)

- Since you failed
your saving throws,

you will not be able to
choose your own class

or race for this adventure.

(dramatic music)

Instead as your dungeon masters,

we will be rolling
our own 20 sided die

and will determine

which race and class
your characters will be.

And you must base your look

on whatever fate
chooses for you.

Now let's begin.

- Abhora: dark elf druid.

- Druid?

- Victoria: elf priestess.

Koco: elf barbarian.

Erika: gnome rogue.

Astrud:

human bard.

(contestants jeering)

- Why?

- Evah: human paladin.

- ...okay.

- HoSo: dark elf ranger.

- Dark elf! Fuck yeah!

- Melissa: human barbarian.

- How exciting.

Now, before you begin
smithing your armor

and memorizing
your incantations,

there is still the detail
of what you have to do

for this week's Fright Feat.

- For this Fright Feat,

you will be engaging
in a good old-fashioned

"tug of gore" competition.

You'll be split into two teams,

taken to a special location,

and be placed on either side
of a gigantic pit of gore.

Your teams will then be
handed either end of a rope

and your group must
use their strength

to pull the other group forward
and into the pit of gore.

Whichever team
pulls the other in,

will win the Fright Feat

and will have the ability
to choose which script

their team will have to act out
in the role-playing segment.

And believe us, these scripts
were not created equal.

- Your dungeon masters
have chosen teams

based on what we felt would be
the most unfair and dramatic.

(Swanthula laughs)

So what are you waiting for?

haste for the pit of gore

where your adventure awaits.

But remember, if you prove to
be a noob and wipe your team,

you'll be yanked, face melted

and corpse camped
from all of eternity.

week is not "Tug of War"

but "Tug of Gore"

where we have to pull the other
team into a moat of blood.

murky mud water,

flying around it.

fuck they put in this water,

but it's not gonna
be me gettin' in it.

We're pretty balanced.

script and the "cursed" script.

The quest script is regular

and then the cursed script
is cursed and backwards.

- I will say I think
that the cursed script

is actually more interesting.

- I'm down to go with
whatever you guys want

because we're a team here
and I'm a team player.

- [Erika] Victoria, what
do you think darling?

- I'm thinking the
quest script as well.

Mostly 'cause --
- It's safe.

- I feel like
we'll trip up less.

- Okay, is that a
concern for you?

- Yes, more so 'cause the
tongue twisting and just--

- The quest script
seems a lot easier

and I think we could
pull it off a lot easier.

- The same thing too, my
English is my second language

so I think I'm gonna have a
hard time getting those words.

- Then I think this, I
think the better strategy

is for us is to pick
the quest script.

- Yeah.

- I actually wanted
the cursed script

'cause I find in
situations like these

the more challenging dialogue
has a lot more energy.

- In the end we chose
the quest script

because we really just wanted

to make the best strategic
choice for our team.

- Does anybody actually
know how to play D&D?

- I've never played
Dungeons and Dragons,

but I know Astrud
is gonna be the one

to be like "I know, I
know about that game",

I already see it coming.

- So the basic setup is
you've got a dungeon master

and you've got a party, right?

So everybody has to
build a character sheet.

And you so many classes
that choose from

and each of those classes has
different specializations.

Like for example,

the rogue can go into either

like an assassin style archetype

or they can be an
arcane trickster.

So you have these dice, right?

You've got a D20,
you've got D12.

I'm a bard for example
and I fuckin' love bards.

I feel like everybody
gets a lot of opportunity

to take their character
where they want.

Like say I'm walking
into a tavern

and I want to woo the bar staff

so they give me a
free drink, right?

D&D is the originator,
it is the like...

I just think it's
such a wonderful way

to bond with your friends.

Here's the hard thing about D&D.

So I've been in
multiple D&D campaigns.

It's really difficult to get
people to commit to a campaign.

It gives me
everything that I want

out of a social experience.

10 year long campaign,
that's the dream.

And that is why I love D&D.

- Just shut the fuck up!!!

See this is what
I'm talkin' about.

- Well I might not know
everything there is to know

about Dungeons and Dragons,

but what I do know
is how to act.

And I feel like before we
go into an acting challenge,

we should probably get
a little warmed up.

- It's a performance
competition.

- As a trained thespian,

since I won my acting
challenge on my season,

I feel like it is
my professional duty
to warm everyone up.

- What the fuck is a
thespian? Theatre lesbian?

I don't fucking know.

- Keep those plates balanced.

Just like that,
fierce, fun, and fresh

good way to stay in shape.

- Okay and this is for diction.

You want to be
able to understand

what your partners are
saying in the scene.

- Astrud knows a lot about
Dungeons and Dragons.

she's trying to lead,

she wants to be the
dungeon master so bad

and I'm just gonna
give it to her.

It's a hard role to
play the dungeon master,

a lot of pressure.

- I'm going to be throwing you
a ball of a certain weight.

So if I toss Koco

at some of this stuff.

this is like an
acting challenge.

But I also know that some
of us are taking this

a little more
seriously than others.

- And then she learns
later in her life

that she actually
is part of royalty.

So she gets taken back
into the royal family

but is still like
a swash-buckling
like, fucking slut.

- I know that we've got
a fuckin' badass group

regardless if we won
the Fright Feat or not.

- The first readthrough
with my team was great.

Like we were finding our pace

and we were gettin' it together.

continue with this challenge.

class is gnome rogue

and I'm going for a deep gnome

because my character
is a mining thief,

I thought that it would
be cool to use a pickax

to sort of like turn
what's a, you know,

a useful tool into something

that can be really
murderous and dark.

So I'm just basically
accentuating the blood stains

on the pickax here
with some red stones

just to give that
little bit of sparkle.

- My race and class is
black and questionable.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

My race and class
is barbarian elf.

I am using bamboo skewers to
create a edgy stabby pointy

"fuck around and find
out" kind of look.

My character is
based off of a lot of

the stronger, badder bitches
of the video game realm.

Some people like to kill,

I like to overkill so every
inch of this can hurt me

and probably somebody else too.

That's the goal.

Making things outta
scraps is important to me

because it keeps you on your
toes, it keeps you guessing.

A person that can find scrap
on the street and make it art

is a person that can take
what life throws at them

and roll with the punches
and make the best of it.

- So my race and class
is dark elf ranger.

I think dark elf is such like

a mystical and interesting race.

So I am personally really
fucking glad with this choice.

I currently am painting this
armor piece that I made.

To make the texture on top
really gross and stone-like,

I used liquid latex and
these magical incantations

that I'm carving into are
written in Korean, actually

I always like to
incorporate Korean into like

such western themes like D&D,

I think it's gonna turn
out really interesting.

- So for D&D, I was
assigned human paladin.

My paladin in particular

is based around a
lot of the knights

that you see whether
they're in video games

or any sort of like pop culture.

And I'm going for a very clean,

gorgeous silhouette that's
big, bulky but very like me.

I am currently
sculpting foam clay.

Right now, I'm working
on this jewel setting

on one of my shoulder
pieces and yeah,

I'm just like carving into
it so I can paint it later.

wanna walk towards it.

- [Evah] I'm feeling
so fucking overwhelmed

right now, this is so hard
for me to like catch up,

even with myself.

- [Crew Member] It gets easier.

- I totally believe that too.
- It does.

- I totally believe that.
- This is the hardest episode.

So during the acting challenge

I started to feel
how hot it was.

I just started becoming
super overwhelmed.

I got really anxious
and I started to panic.

- [Abhora] Evah's
having a moment.

- [HoSo] Like what
kind of moment?

- [Abhora] She's
frustrated with herself.

- There's just a
number of things

like just claustrophobia,
heat, like the costume.

- [HoSo] Damn,
they're filming Evah,

this is gonna be a thing.

- [Abhora] You good, diva? Yeah?

- It was just a lot all at
once. That's that's all.

I'm not having a moment.

- Totally understand Evah's
situation with the heat.

I was right there with her.

Unfortunately, we both
handled the stress

a little bit differently.

- It was just a lot all
at once, that's all.

- C'mon, Evah.

(paper rustling)

God damn, they're filming it.

- I think Evah just
got into her head.

She made this a very important
challenge for herself

and she forgot to have fun.

- I'm not talking--

I got hit in the head.

I fucking bled.

I kept going, the
scene must go on.

- [Crew Member] You okay?

- I am bleeding.

I just got scratched a
little bit, I'm fine.

- I think you were
too hard on yourself

and I think that's why you
were choking up so much.

- But that's like,
but that's what I do.

There are moments where
my perfectionism kicks in,

my inner saboteur kicks in,
you know and all that bullshit.

But at the time--

- You just gotta let go
and let the scene flow.

- That is very easier

- So the adventure
has come to an end.

Some of our characters have
very few hit points left

but it's time to pass
out the treasures.

- Oh my God.

- Why don't we
start with the team

who got the cursed script?

- Who did better, ironically.

- Absolutely. This would be
HoSo, Koco, Abhora, and Evah.

- I thought they played
very well off of each other.

- I thought Evah's floorshow
and her look were great.

I thought it got overshadowed
negatively by her attitude

during the acting challenge.

And of all the
monsters in the castle,

it was Abhora who was trying
to bring Evah's morale up,

which was nice to see.

- Part of being on "Dragula"

is to do these
crazy things, right?

That's what we're
testing them on.

We put them in these
crazy circumstances

outside in the heat,
under a waterfall,

roll 'em down the beach,
through the desert,

whatever and we want to see
if they can still perform.

That's part of the competition.

So to me it seems strange
to go on location like that

and complain the whole time.

- HoSo took that ax to the head

and was bleeding from the eye

and did the last couple of
takes without one complaint.

And that says a lot.

- I thought HoSo
nailed the challenge.

She didn't give
us standard HoSo.

- [Swanthula] That's true.

- [Dracmorda] She gave
us a full character.

- And I thought
Koco was phenomenal.

Her look was spot on and
the acting was fantastic.

- They really
embodied a barbarian.

- A really body
ody ody barbarian.

- But they didn't go like
classic kind of barbarian

like I felt like it was more
like Amazonian barbarian.

- Which was fun.

- Yeah.

- So let's talk about the team
that chose the quest script.

- Unfortunately they
kind of felt flat.

They were all
forgetting their lines.

Victoria being the
worst of them all.

- Every take, Victoria
missed the line.

- Well waiting here
would only...wait...
I'm so sorry, line?

As well, I completely
flipped that... line?

Can I do that one more time?

- [Crew Member] Yeah sure.

- My god, I'm so sorry.

- I don't think Victoria could
remember any of the lines.

I will say I think
Melissa did a good job.

- She looked incredible.

She was giving us
Melissa Befierce

times a thousand
and it was great.

I think if Melissa
had gotten on a team

in a different group,

she could have really excelled

and placed very high
in this challenge.

- Yeah, unfortunately
she was with that group

and I think that is
going to probably

land her in the bottom.

- So let's move over to Astrud.

I think the look
was clearly a bard

but we weren't breaking
any new grounds here.

And the director told
me something kind
of interesting too

that Astrud would sort of

be a little bit
difficult to work with

and try to give direction
to the director.

No one likes that on set.

- We are watching everything
while you're here.

We're looking to crown a winner

who is not only a
great drag artist

but someone that can go on set

and perform in front of a camera

and not whine about it.

Let's talk about Erika.

Erika is not having fun.

Erica seems very angry

and off-centered the
whole season to me.

- I agree, and you know what?

That could translate
to some looks

but you can't be a
pissed off gnome.

- Just walking
around the ren faire,

grumping around
like a grumpy gnome.

- I feel like they're
so focused on winning

and so focused on
the competition

that they're losing
sight of the fun

and the experience and the now.

- It's not the Erika that
I remember from season two,

Erika in season
two was very fun.

This time she just seems pissed.

- I thought Erika gave energy
during the acting challenge,

however it was the look
that was her undoing.

- The truth is I love
everyone that we cast

and I don't wanna give any
of them negative critiques.

It's very hard.

It'd be different if
we didn't know them

but you know, gonna see
'em again after this, so.

(Dracmorda giggles)

- As always, I wanna remind you

Role playing is art

as it relates to a six-sided die

and the challenges that
we have put before you.

- Now you were given a group
acting challenge on location.

Of course we will take

your individual looks
into consideration,

but tonight you will first
be judged as a group.

The band of adventurers
who performed the best

in our dungeons and drag
queens campaign is...

Abhora, Evah, HoSo, and Koco.

- I'm so fucking gagged
right now, honestly.

- Despite the circumstances,
our team made it work.

We communicated with each other,

we supported each other

through like a really
tough environment

and I thought we deserved it.

- This week, I
really did my best

to uplift everyone's spirits

and I really hope that
that's what brought us

through to the victory.

- Abhora and Evah... you
made your saving throws

and you are safe.

And the two heroes of the
group are HoSo and Koco.

And we'd like to talk about why.

- Let's start with HoSo.

- I am absolutely
obsessed with this look.

- Hey.

- It's honestly
beyond drag for me.

I could see you in a movie,

I could see you in so
many different spaces.

So kudos to you.

- Thank you so much.

- I too have been
sliced on the forehead

during the shooting
of a horror film.

- Oh my God.

- But I committed,

I played the scene that is
exactly the take they used

and you did the same and that
is very impressive to me.

- You knocked it out
the park with this look.

I'm especially in love with
this little top knot hairdo.

- Oh it's so good,
I love it too.

- I was really
impressed with you

in the acting challenge as well.

You became a different
person completely

and it was fantastic.

- I'm really glad
you liked my top knot

because last time I wore
a top knot on "Dragula",

I was in the bottom for it, so.

- Well, it was a little smaller.

(HoSo chuckling)

- You were the deadliest
dark elf in the woods.

I really appreciated a
lot of the runic details

that you brought to the armor
'cause it wasn't just dark

but there was also some
magic kind of imbued into it.

It set my imagination
aflame and it impressed me.

- Thank you so much.

- Moving on to Koco.

- Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

The way that I screamed
when I saw this look,

I cannot even tell you.

Even the weaponry is
probably something

you could use in real life

and actually maim somebody with.

- Oh, it did, I bled.
- It did.

Sorry, girl.

- And honestly, if we
were in a D&D campaign,

you would more than likely be
one of my favorite characters.

- I genuinely appreciated
that you went for the comedy.

That's not the obvious choice
in a horror fantasy world.

So bravo for making that
choice and taking that risk.

- Koco, I love the look.

The savage barbarian brought
to life with proportions

that we've grown to expect
only from Koco Caine.

All of the details of the look

combined with that risk on the
performance, for me sold it.

I thought you were incredible.

but look whose team won
the acting challenge.

- Now, let's talk about
our not so fortunate

band of adventurers, Melissa.

- This is a drag competition.

We're not expecting you to
take to an acting challenge

and deliver lines like
an award-winning actor.

However, you were spirited and
you were excited to be there.

There was a vitality
and your energy

and attitude was correct.

- Melissa, I think
your floorshow

was really strong this week.

You jumped in that creek,
you were ferocious.

I think it was great.

Also in the acting challenge,
you memorized the script

and you delivered
it with passion.

You did a great job.

- Thank you, thank you.

- When you're doing a line of
dialogue or a physical action,

especially something violent,

you have to commit
all the way through.

You had such good energy,

I wanted to see that carry
through to the end of the line,

the end of the sword swing.

And you were so goddamn close

and honestly so
enjoyable to watch

that I honestly didn't even
care, but things to think about.

- Gotcha, thank you.
- Yeah.

- Should we do a line of
dialogue after the show?

- I mean if you want,
I'm sober now though.

- Had it not been for my team,
I would've been on the top.

- Moving on to Victoria.

- I didn't really understand
who this character was.

Is she regal? Is she enslaved?

Inbuing a little bit more
of that characterization,

would that taken
you over the edge.

- Fair enough,

- Victoria, this look
is definitely giving

high elf realness, you
did a great job with it.

You're showing us a lot
of variety this season,

which I appreciate.

Obviously you fumbled your line,

that was a problem but
the look was great.

- Thank you so much.

- I'm the actor so I'm
always gonna be this bitch

but like I saw you thinking

as opposed to just
trusting and diving in.

Bringing that sort of confidence
back is kind of important,

especially in a fantasy
horror like this.

- This may sound harsh
but I do believe it fully,

you were a liability
to your team

because almost every take
you didn't have your line.

- Wait, I'm so sorry, line?

- It became frustrating
for me watching

and I'm sure it was frustrating
for the rest of the team.

- Yeah, understandable.

- Our team definitely
did struggle

but not as much as Victoria

struggled with the lines.

- Line?

- Let's talk about Erika.

- Honestly, I was
just really conflicted

because I really do
love a playful character

but I think some of
the costume elements

kind of took me
out of the fantasy.

So when I see the boots that
remind me of hot topic boots

and the glove that remind
me of biker gloves,

those sort of things
take me out of it

I think a little bit.

- I didn't actually quite mind

that maybe it wasn't like
a perfect like rendering

of a fantasy character

because you had a point
of view and an opinion.

I do wish you kind of
brought that point of view

more to life in
your performance.

I felt a little bit like
you were limiting yourself.

- Thank you.

- I feel like the look just
wasn't up to the standard

that the other competitors
are bringing tonight.

Some of the imperfections

in the makeup and
stuff behind your ear

were showing up on camera,

which is something you
have to look out for

when you're filming.

But I think you had a
lot of fun details in it.

- Outside of judging,
just between me and you

as people right now,

I want you to take a deep
breath in and a deep breath out

because I feel like you
have been hard at work

and hard on yourself.

Like smile, have fun.

You're a fucking gnome
with gems all over you.

I hope you can find the
joy in this experience

'cause when you look
back you won't say,

"uw I wish I stressed more".

I hope I can impart
that onto you

because I've looked back on
myself in previous seasons

and said those exact same
things to me five years ago.

- Yeah I could be
having more fun

but then what if that
causes me to be complacent?

What would be fun for
me is to win a challenge

or to like do well
and actually feel like

this experience was
a little different.

- I just feel like Erika's
being too laser-focused

I want her to snap out
of it to be honest.

I want her to have fun.

- And last but
not least, Astrud.

- I'm a little biased, when
I play D&D I play the bard.

- Oh.

- I think as far as
character wise goes,

your character was the one

I was most wanting
to get invested in.

I think that you held the group
down in a lot of great ways.

- I can unashamedly say

that this is probably my
favorite look of the bunch.

I buy it, I just do.

Your attitude sits well in
what you're wearing, so bravo.

- I also can appreciate the
authenticity of the fabrics,

the shape, the antiquity
that this instrument.

I mean what is that?

- So this is a dulcimer,

it's from the lute
family of instruments,

but I actually re-tuned it

to sound a little
bit more medieval

because traditionally it's
from the Appalachian region.

So it has that sort of
like folk sound to it.

But I changed it to like a dark,

like almost like
a Phrygian mode.

(relaxing dulcimer music)

- I knew I heard Phrygian mode.

(Astrud laughs)

I know that when I hear it.

Were we breaking ground
when it comes to bards?

In my mind, probably not, but
I think overall it was solid.

- Thank you.

I feel like I really
nailed this challenge.

Like I even played
a real fucking lute.

I think the only reason I'm
not in the top right now

is because of my team,
probably, possibly.

- I did get some info
from the director

that he felt you were sort of
pushing back on him at time.

- Oh.

- The words were trying
to direct the director.

never really a good thing.

- Yeah, I have a little bit of

an abrasive personality
sometimes on accident,

but I definitely never
met to take control

in any kind of way.

- Melissa, you rose
to the challenge

and had it not
been for your team,

- I've been just
playing this game

as hard as I fucking

- I haven't reached the goal

This experience
has been amazing,

but I just spent so
much time focusing

that I just wasn't
being as present

as maybe I could have been.

a lesson learned.
