The black horse Is a restaurant/tavern.

Some of the activity includes

Glasses being thrown Off the bar.

Around the fireplace, customers Have actually seen elizabeth,

A young girl who was murdered And suspected trapped there.

Also we have will.

Sits in the corner, guarding The inn with his two dogs.

So we just got to get In there and see what's Really going on here.

In the most haunted village In the country.

10 times a day, I'll have people Come in here and say,

"Is this place haunted?"

So it would be great To actually discover something

That has got some evidence Behind it.

Robb: what can you tell us about The history of this pub?

Savidge: it started off life As a farmhouse.

The original part dates back To the 13th century.

Probably the last 200, 300 Years, it's been a pub.

Can you show us where some Of this activity happened?

Over in this corner Over here,

It's said that The old bailiff, will--

He's reputed to sit there With two red setter dogs

And watch over the place, As a bailiff would do.

can you describe What a bailiff is?

a person that collects money, Taxes, or collects rent.

Will is someone you wouldn't Want to mess with.

He gets a bit annoyed when He sees things he doesn't like.

Did anything else happen In this area?

The bar's had a few things Happen over the years.

Buchanan: I've seen The poltergeist throw things.

I haven't seen the ghost itself.

One of the previous landlords Put a cigarette in the ashtray

On the edge of the bar.

It flew out and landed Two or three feet away.

I've never seen a cigarette

launch itself Out of an ashtray before.

The glasses have smashed On the floor.

They kind of just fall.

I've been behind the bar,

And you do have this cold, This sensation that happened.

It is said that there's A little girl

We're going to be using it Tonight as an alarm

To pick up activity entering Or leaving the room.

Coming right in From under the door.

It's gonna reach Right up there.

Yeah. You can follow it right up The cracks of the door.

So, I don't think We completely debunked it,

But we're on the right path For it.

Where we had reports that this Guy named will used to sit.

There's nothing that should be Giving off a magnetic pulse.

The real question is-- Why is it going off right now?

barry: what we are trying to do Is to monitor the emf meter.

It's believed the ghost Or spirit

Have a chance to appear Within the magnetic field.

Evp stands for "Electronic voice phenomenon,"

And what that means is When you do a recording

And you find a noise or sound That we did not hear

With our own ears at the time Of the recording,

At that point, we start to think That there's a possibility

That we're making contact With a spirit.

It does give a more Creepier sense.

The fireplace was The original farmhouse,

And they built all this Around it.

This has only been a pub For like about 200 years.

barry: me and brian were sitting At the bar in the black horse.

everything was fine. We were just settling down.

And suddenly, the atmosphere In the place had changed.

he wouldn't tell me What was going on at first.

It felt like these fingers Come in from behind,

Down onto my shoulders

And start pressing down Into the shoulders.

That was a very filthy thing To try and do.

I'm starting to get angry.

When you lifted up,

I had that chill that I get When energy rises.

And I think we saw him. It was a shadow.

Like it was trying To manifest itself.

Donna: barry and brian Had an incredible experience

In the barroom, So robb said,

"How about we send out A couple females

"And see if there really is a Spirit of the bailiff out there,

see how he responds to you."

is this energy malicious?

Where there's been reports Of an apparition,

possibly of a 7-year-old girl That was murdered.

Right away, That emf meter was going off.

And, barry, You had an experience as well.

Suddenly, the heavy hands Went down onto the shoulders.

I wasn't amused.

Brian: We called him "Will,"

And he seemed to respond To "Will."

I was hoping we'd get evidence That would back that up.

We didn't get anything On the dvr.

What we did get, though,

Was we had one Of our minidv cameras

Set up to cover The emf detector.

We asked a question, The emf detector would go nuts.

I started talking to it,

Deliberately just saying "Hi" To it.

So you were initiating Communication.

Will, is this you?

This is a pretty good spike. It goes all the way up to two.

That's a big spike.

Andy: it almost shows some kind Of consciousness.

That'sreally cool.

So, do we have Anything else?

A very well-timed, Well-placed evp.

Barry: this is immediately After the hands

were put on And pressed into the chair.

I stood up and confronted This particular thing,

And then I asked, "Are you playing games?"

The reason I really like it Is it's not only answering you,

It sounds like two people Having a conversation.

That, to me, might point To an intelligent haunt.

When we talk about An intelligent haunting,

We're talking about a spirit That knows that we are present

And is capable of interacting With us.

So, did we catch anything By that fireplace?

No. Nothing.

So, do we have Anything else?

That would be it.

As far as history, How'd we do?

The research turned up Rather well.

I met with jackie, The town historian.

I asked her About will the bailiff,

And she said she wasn't sure If his first name was will,

But she gave me a last name That she thinks could be him.

andy: Good to see you again.

we came in. You told us your stories.

We learned about will In the front room.

We learned about the young girl In the room behind us

And all this Possible activity.

What we do with that information Is we come in,

We use all our equipment--

Digital voice recorders, Cameras,

Still cameras, Emf detectors--

Because what we try and do Is disprove all the stories.

If we can't disprove it--

That's the question, Isn't it? Yeah. Exactly.

The theory of a cold spot.

How we approached this, Rob and I teamed up,

And we started off in the front Room there with the bar

With a thermal-imaging Camera.

Right at the front door,

We actually can see where drafts Would be coming through.

We noticed that there was A little bit of blue

That was coming in From under the door.

At that point, We were satisfied

That that's an alternative Possibility

For maybe someone Feeling a cold spot.

Makes sense, really.

Is that definitely what happens Every time?

No. But it was a possible Explanation,

And that's what We're looking for.

Did you get in touch With will?

Did you speak to him At all?

'cause I've heard a lot About will.

Barry was sitting near The bar.

He's having a conversation,

Trying to get will To communicate with him,

And he feels two hands On his shoulders

Pushing him back down.

We had this little guy-- An emf detector.

And it's almost like A motion sensor.

If anything that has An electromagnetic field

Passes by it, It goes off.

One of the theories That's out there

Is, as a ghost Manifests itself,

It actually gives off a Different electromagnetic field.

It wasn't just an alarm For us.

It actually almost became a tool Of communication.

We set this meter up, And we set a camera up.

So, at this point, Brian was asking questions.

They started having A little back and forth.

They were trying to just have A casual conversation

With "Will," you know, in hopes Of possibly getting the meter

Or some other kind-- Communication.

Yeah. Exactly.

Brian: could you give us a sign

of your presence?

And there it is. Boom. There it goes.

He's noticing something's up.

will, is this you?

And there it is. Boom. Up it goes to the two.

Now it goes back down When the question's done.

You get a response, Don't you? Absolutely.

When donna and shannon Went in there,

Again, it was The same situation.

I spent a fair amount of The time trying to figure out

Other ways This could happen.

Could the equipment Have gotten too close?

Is there some sort of Odd electric field

That could be Hitting this,

Other than A paranormal activity?

I couldn't find anything.

Impressive evidence, right?

I always want to see more.

I want to be positive

That something that we cannot Explain is going on.

Well, at the time, We didn't know

That we had captured Something

That would be pretty difficult To explain,

And we'd like to get Your impression on that now.

That's fair enough.

This is an evp-- Electronic voice phenomena.

Here's what happened In this situation.

Barry asked whatever presence Is in that room,

"Are you playing games With me?"

After he says, "Playing games," This is the response we got.

playing games? Perhaps.

Definitely a reaction there Of some sort, isn't there?

What's your take On the evidence?

As far as physical evidence Goes, phenomenal,

But do you believe That was will?

Well, you've seen the evidence We have.

We were communicating With something,

And there's really no way

We can realistically associate That activity with a name.

That's fair enough.

That wasn't the only thing That you asked of us.

We had donna, who is a member Of our team, go out,

And she found out Some interesting stuff.

There was never any record

Of any kind of death Of a young girl.

We did find a last name

That possibly might go With will-- homewood.

Really?

That's one of the biggest Families in the village,

And they're very Well-respected.

With this kind of evidence,

With what happened to us And all six

Of our investigators Last night,

We can say that in our opinion, This location is haunted.

Absolutely.

Well, I know that anyway.

I have hard evidence To back it up now."

And the oldest part of the house Was built in 1406.

It's been around For a while.

when we first moved in here,

I was kind of quite cynical About the whole ghost thing.

but having been here And experienced things,

I'm a bit more open to it now Than I was.

moody: the farm has been A huge part of village life.

people have got married here. They've been christened here.

they've died here.

if you think about the number Of residents that has been here,

that's an awful lot of deaths In this very house.

okay. So, this is Our canterbury suite.

this is one of Our guest bedrooms.

and what kind of reports of Activity do you have in here?

well, we had a guest That stayed in here

That said she could see orbs Floating around in the ceiling

As she was lying In the bed.

And there's also been reports Of noises-- knocking noises.

Okay. So, where are we Off to next?

We're gonna go To the farmhouse

And have a look At some things there.

Well, this is where, When we first moved in,

We heard The ghost speaking,

And we distinctly heard a voice Saying, "I will, I will."

And when we then Looked into it,

We discovered that there was A farmer that lived here

In the 18th century Who actually shot himself

In the dairy Out the back there.

And the last words that he said To his wife were, "I will."

Okay.

Poile: I know that previous Occupants of the house

Would walk into the room,

And you could see that somebody Had lain on the bed,

but the room hadn't been used, Or the bed hadn't been used

since it was made that morning.

Any theory On who it would have been?

Yeah. We believe That it's the same guy

That you can hear downstairs Saying, "I will, I will,"

And the guy that shot himself In the dairy.

Right. That same connection. Okay, good.

Well, we're gonna go Outside now.

If you look Just down there,

You can see Where the trees start.

That's screaming woods.

It's actually called The dering woods,

But most people refer to it As the screaming woods

Because of the noise That it makes.

You go there in the middle Of the night,

And there's a strange, eerie, Creaking sound.

So it kind of unsettles people.

Peek: I'm excited to have A proper investigation--

A scientific investigation

Into all these sightings And experiences.

And I'd really love it if they Could get to the bottom

Of some of these mysteries.

Robb: so, how'd we do?

Camera one, dining room. Camera two is the kitchen.

Camera three-- that's the Bedroom, looking at the ceiling.

camera four is the upstairs In the farmhouse.

and camera five Is the stairway.

so we're ready to get started. Lights out.

one of the things that robb And I decided to do tonight

was to try to debunk the orbs In this room.

So if you want to start shining It through there,

See what kind of reflections We get.

One of the first things That I noticed

When we pulled up to the hotel

Is that a small road basically Borders this room.

What we decided to do Was to create a light source

And shine a light in.

Okay. I don't think that's it,

But I got A different idea.

Try it again.

Okay. Move it past There quickly.

Yeah. It could be.

So with The curtains closed,

It's diffusing the light Just enough?

Yeah. You figure that we got The road back there.

Somebody walking by With a flashlight

Hits it the right way,

It's gonna look like a streak Of light going through here.

While I can't completely say That we debunked the phenomenon,

I can offer An alternative explanation,

And that's what We're always looking for.

the story is that people Get lost in the woods,

and you can hear them screaming.

Robb: I'd say 20 seconds walking Into the screaming woods,

We hear what sounds like A scream from way back,

Deeper into the woods.

So, within about 30 seconds,

This place lives up To its name, huh?

Andy: we proceeded to walk Further into the woods,

And we continuously heard The screams in the distance.

Some people believe that people Have gone missing here,

And their loved ones Are still out here

Screaming and looking For them.

Robb: get to a part That's kind of open.

We figured this would be A good point to stop

And use some of Our equipment out here.

So, you want to do An evp session.

So, we started asking A few questions.

If there's any restless Spirits here,

it went from left to the right In a matter of seconds,

and it was loud, and it was big.

I couldn't see it.

I could hear it, But I couldn't see it.

I think we need to go forward And veer around to the right.

Coming up to some kind Of clearing.

We've got the thermal camera.

We have now found another use For the thermal.

Not only can we use it

For paranormal investigation And debunking,

But now we can rescue teammates Out in the woods.

And we heard What sounded like a scream.

But then shannon and donna Came to us,

And they had A similar experience

With the footsteps And the running in the woods,

But on a much larger scale.

So now I'm really excited

To look and see exactly What happened out there.

Brian: pluckley village Is supposed to be

One of the most haunted villages In europe.

I want to review the evidence

And get to the bottom Of all this stuff.

Remember what We're looking for.

Got to figure out what That stuff was in the woods.

brian: Shannon heard something while She was analyzing the audio.

she thinks it might be screaming In the woods.

she's pretty excited about it,

but we're gonna take A closer listen to it.

andy: we have personal Experiences.

what was it-- maybe 30 seconds Into walking into the woods,

we heard our first scream?

and in our situation,

we did hear what we thought

were footsteps Walking towards us.

did we get any evidence From screaming woods?

picked up quite a bit Of screaming.

when we were on our way out Of the woods,

we heard a wretched scream.

[ ghostly moan ] Oh!

what was that?

at first, I thought It was an animal,

but then I kept listening, And it sounded too consistent.

[ ghostly moan ]

Oh!

I couldn't think of what else It could be.

I might have an answer For that.

So, has there been any activity Since we left?

no, there hasn't. You might have Taken them all with you.

Here's what we try and do--

We come in, We listen to your stories,

We take notes On what activity

You've described In certain areas,

Bring out our equipment,

And what we initially Try and do

Is disprove the stories You're telling us.

And if we're unable To disprove it,

Then we're possibly left With something paranormal.

In the canterbury room,

We went to look for the orb Activity that had been reported.

So we walked by With a flashlight

Outside by the window.

And then the light Comes through,

You get these interesting, Odd-looking lights

That seem to shine and dance On the ceiling.

We could very easily see

Where it would look like Orb activity.

One of the other areas That we looked at

Was the unusual sounds Coming from the barn.

One of the pieces of equipment That we use

Is a thermal-imaging camera

That shows everything In heat signatures.

When we were going Through there,

One thing that we did notice

Was there were rats Hanging around in there,

Crawling up the sides Of the barn and everything.

Without a doubt,

It was making some very Interesting sounds.

You had reported to us That you had heard "I will."

We set up A wireless microphone

With the hopes of picking up Some sort of voice.

But when we went through All of the sound,

There was nothing there.

But we did find something very Interesting under the stairs.

We have a device that we can use To measure magnetic fields.

Extremely high Electromagnetic fields

Can make people think they have Heard something,

Even seen something, Smelled something.

So the possibility exists

That the high emf caused you To believe you heard a voice.

So, what do you think About that idea?

Yeah, I can understand How you're saying

That it's the emf thing That is making people

Think they're hearing.

Yeah, I can see that.

We're not saying that that Is the only explanation,

But we're saying that that Is a viable one.

It's a possible.

Right. Exactly.

One of the other areas That you had told us about

Was the screaming woods.

As soon as we moved Into the woods,

We heard "The scream."

So, okay, we stopped

Because we said we should get A good thermal,

See if we can't pick up Heat signatures

Of the kind of animal that would Have caused the noise.

Well, at that point,

We heard what we thought Was footsteps approaching.

Here's the trick, though--

We had the thermal camera With us

That should pick up Any animal

Because of the heat the body Is giving off.

So we weren't able To pick that up.

The next thing you know,

We heard it about five feet To our right.

All of this time, we're going Back and forth with the thermal,

Trying to figure out what kind Of animal is causing the noise.

Are we positive that we heard An animal? No.

Given the fact that we were Using the thermal

The entire time And we've got nothing,

It seems like something odd Is really going on here.

Our investigators Shannon and donna--

They heard the screams In the woods.

[ beep ]

[ ghostly moan ] Oh!

What our team did is research

To look at what types of animals Might be in this area.

Let me play this one for you, First of all.

This is actually a recording Of a vixen, a female fox.

[ growls ]

Now we can compare that To what the girls captured.

[ ghostly moan ]

That's a noise I've heard a lot.

Okay. Youhave heard that.

When barry and brian went out, They picked up this.

My gut feeling's That way, but--

Now, that sounded very similar To a bird.

To me, there's a difference Between paranormal,

Meaning like a ghost Or a spirit,

And something That's unexplained.

The screaming woods is Unexplained phenomena.

Does that make it paranormal? Not to me.

And I understand what You're saying about the woods

And the noises and the animal Noises and things,

But do you think that there's Ghosts here at elvey farm

Based on what you've seen, What you've experienced?

Basing it on What we have to do,

The evidence we were able To collect,

We weren't able to get Any hard evidence of Paranormal activity.

Okay.

I feel that, Particularly in elvey farm,

That there isnot Paranormal activity here.

I'm disappointed That you weren't able

To find anything out About the things in the farm.

We had one case that lived up To that reputation

And two that didn't.

All in all, It was definitely worth it.
