Welcome back in this tutorial we will learn about Reap and slot.

So let's begin click on start, I can equal design, part design.

So for Reap, actually we have to create one path and one section.

So at first we will click on sketch and we will take this vertical plane and we will create

one path.

So by clicking on profile, skip, press skip to come out and delete it and exit while

pinch.

So this is the path and we will need one section also.

So that section for that we will create one plane.

So click on this plane and click on this line and click at this point.

So it will create a plane passing through that point and perpendicular to normal to this

line.

Okay.

Now on this plane we will create one sketch, click on this plane.

Suppose I want to create one circle and select the center point, control the same point

and click on constant defined in dialogs, coincidences.

Okay.

Exit workbench.

Now I want to create a rib by using this section and this path.

So click on rib.

The rib is actually in other software is called as sweep.

And in Katia it is called as rib.

It is a sweep and rib is same.

So profile we will select this circle and for center curve we will select this curve and

click on preview.

So in this way it has created a rib with the help of circle and that curve.

And if you want to make it thick, if you want to use some thickness and make it hollow

we can click on this thick profile.

Then click on preview.

If you see here it has become a turn into a pipe actually.

It become hollow and become a pipe.

And you can give the thickness on one side.

Suppose it is inside by one.

If you want to use some more thickness outside also suppose I want to give thickness of

to click on preview.

So it will take one as the inside and two as the outside.

So in this way you can control the thickness on both side of the sketch.

And if you want the sketch to be at the center of your thickness then click on this neutral

fiber.

Clicking on this neutral fiber actually whatever thickness you give here that will be given

half inside and half of the thickness will be inside and outside.

So in this way you can create a thick profile.

And for this merge repaint actually we will have to create one more object.

So it will merge with that.

Suppose we will just cancel it and suppose we will have to change the profile also.

Suppose we will take a different profile.

We will delete this profile and this plane also.

And we will edit this curve and suppose I put one vertical line here.

Then I will fillet it.

Okay now this is my curve.

Then I will create one section on this horizontal plane.

It is normal to this one.

So I will take this plane and click on sketch and I will create circle from this center.

Exit.

So this is my section and path and one more 3D object I will need for reference.

So suppose I will create one plane parallel to this horizontal plane on the bottom side.

And I will create one sketch here on this.

And suppose I will create one rectangle.

Exit and I will pat this shape on the reverse side.

Now if I use the rib then profile is this circle and center curve.

This is the center curve.

And if now I click on this merge rips end.

So it will automatically extend it up to the next surface.

So that is the use of merge rips end.

If you see the preview it has extended up to next surface.

If you remove this tick so it will keep the gap it will maintain that gap as it is.

And if you click on it it will merge the ends.

So that is the use of merge rips end.

Okay.

Then suppose we will increase thickness of this pad.

Suppose we will make it 50.

As so metric.

Then next is rib actually adds the material and slot will remove the material.

So it is opposite of rib.

It will cut the material actually.

So for that suppose again we will create some profile here.

Click on sketch, click on this surface.

And suppose we will create one profile again.

Suppose I want some cut like this.

One cut is there escape.

Then there is fillet is there.

It is it.

Now again I will have to create one plane.

So create plane click on this line and click on this end point.

Okay.

Then click on sketch and create one sketch on this plane.

Suppose I want some rectangular shape.

I want to cut it.

So again I will just take this center control this point and I will make it click on

constant dependent dialogue box coincidence.

Okay.

And reduce the size.

Okay.

Exit workbench.

Now I want to cut this shape.

So for that I will use slot.

Click on slot.

Then profile is this shape rectangle.

Then center curve.

This is the center curve and preview.

Then this way it will cut from the main object.

And here also much slot, slot end is there.

So it will automatically extend up to the end end.

So this merge you can use in slot also.

So it will automatically extend up to the end.

Click on okay.

So in this way this cut is created.

In this way you can use but slot and rip commands.
