This is the Little Missouri River,

and we were honored to deliver four
cannon and gunpowder to Fort Wilson,

a small garrison right in the
middle of the Hunkpapasoo Indian Nation.

As far as we knew, we were
at peace with the Indians.

Thought I'd come aboard the
Enterprise for just the one trip.

But my friend Captain Holden asked
me if I'd make one more for him.

Joshua, what are you doing to the map?

The river made a new dog
like a couple of miles back.

mate on the river if I didn't know you'd

be selling those charts to other
pilots the minute we got back to Natchez.

Well, a man has to look out

Captain, I think I hear some shooting.

Indians? They're attacking Fort Wilson.

We're going to give them
a taste of grape shot.

tightening up the last few months

on discipline with us and the Indians.

a post with any of that going on.

The girls were daughters
of sub-chiefs of the Sioux.
