I finally had a nervous breakdown.

It felt like the
creature was getting closer,

like it was going to come
out of my dream and get me.

I was going to kill myself.

I just wanted it to be over.

And that's when it came to you?

My father must have made me a
thousand dream catchers growing up.

But the one the devil
made me really worked.

What happened after the nightmare stopped?

And the chief said that he would do this.

telling somebody this story.

So, the chief agreed to do this,

and the quipuat kept the
tradition so well Even

after the rains came
and the salmon returned,

that the chief of the cicada
returned to the tribe after the

long sleep and said that he
would give them a special gift.

Every 17 sleeps, that means
every 17 cycles of 17 years,

the cicadas would guide a great spirit to
the tribe to become one of their children.

That great spirit
would become their leader.

And lead them from the
dark times into better ones.

The chief of the Cicada kept his promise.

A great leader has always been born to
the Quipua people when the time came.
