so I noticed that you're now

getting into

Visual arts.

Yeah,
I think a little bit about that

Well, it kind of came about

because
after the year-long strike

the writers and acting strike.

i Was really kind of

You know bored and sad

and depressed that

whole year not

being able to work

Yeah,

and so I needed to find a way

to be creative

That didn't depend on
Hollywood.

And so I started,

you know dabbling

with collage art

and really fell in love with it

I've always loved art

I've always loved art

and

Everybody's gone to museums

and galleries

and enjoyed art, but

it's been really fun kind

of exploring that for myself

What inspires you?

Oh

Everything

I mean nature inspires you?

D.R. Inspires me

my family

my friends

Art in general

like watching

movies and TV

shows and going

to museums that

all inspires me

Yeah for me.

I mean I'm into

visual arts.

I paint myself.

I have to listen to

music any music

Do you listen to

I do usually when

I'm doing art? I

like to listen to

soundtracks

of films

You know that

they're usually

very dramatic

Or I listen to

classical music

and then

sometimes I

just let my

Spotify do its

thing and say

like play moody

music play artsy

music and I'll

just play some

random stuff

Wow. Yeah

One of the things

that I noticed is

that you have

told me that

Opportunities

come in different

ways and I know

that even your

acting career

came in and an

opportunity with

writing, right?

Yeah, well, I had

been acting for a

while and

about ten years

maybe and then I

started

writing and

really enjoyed

writing wrote my

first pilot and

it was that pilot

that actually got

me a job in a

writers

room and I

Wrote in this

writers room for

our TV show

called

perfect harmony

okay on NBC and

it was because of

that job that I

got my current

team and

My new agents and

my new manager

are what helped

me get better

auditions

because sometimes

you need that,

you know

representation

with a name to

get the better

auditions and

then that led to

Hold on my nose

is right

It is cold guys

My nose first, um

So being in a

writer's room

actually is what

led to having a

better agent

Which would lead

to having better

auditions and

funny enough

I wasn't gonna

take that writing

job because I was

afraid of not

having auditions,

you know being in

a writer's room

for nine months

and not being

able to act and

in turn the

writers room is

what got

me one of my

biggest

acting jobs

Writing what's the

difference as far

as happening to

your writing and

Acting how does

that feel

you use it?

I know that you

mentioned they

saw you hear

soundtrack and

you do your

visual art. Hmm,

but in writing

Do you think

acting when

you're writing?

um, I think

actors make good

writers because

we're so used to

Dialogue right?

No and we're

constantly

reading scripts

So I'm always

encouraging my

actor friends to

write because I

think you'd be

surprised

How naturally it

comes to a

lot of actors?

Um, so when I

write I'm usually

thinking of the

character and how

they would say

something and

sometimes I even

place like

Famous actors or

friends of mine

into these roles

so that it

becomes easier to

write their

dialogue

In being from New

York in LA how

does that feel

like that

transition going

from LA to

New York?

I'm always a New

Yorker. I'm a

born and raised

New Yorker and

even though I

spent about 15

years in

Los Angeles

You know, New

York is always

home. Yeah, and I

love LA though.

I'm not gonna

lie. I'm not one

of those

New Yorkers

Okay, it's LA. I

love LA. Um, I

think it's a

great city

But it's really

nice to be back

in New York, even

though it's

freezing

right now

It is really cold

I don't know if

we acted like

we're not cold,

but I do want to

and it's nice to

creative where I

don't feel like

it's like I

Tired to explain

like with acting

and writing

You know acting

is like you have

to book the job

for the writing

you have to sell

the show

But with art for

me at least right

now. It's just

like I'm just

making art and

we'll see

what happens
