RECORD OF LODOSS WAR Chronicles of the Heroic Knight

RECORD OF LODOSS WAR Chronicles of the Heroic Knight

There it is!

There it is...

Shooting Star...

At last...

That`s who we`re facing.

But... lt`s so big!

Sir Ashram`s a real slave driver! He wants us to leave in two days!

Yeah! So much for making money at being pirates!

What`s he doin` there?

Well, it gives us something to look at for a change, right?

Why, you...!

No charge for my dance.

What a woman. l`m scared!

You can see for yourself, Orson.

l didn`t need any backup on this one.

Right...

Well, shall we go?

At that moment, Slayn and Leylia, who stayed behind in Raiden...

...to gather a crew for a ship, learned the shocking truth...

...from a sailor who had fled a pirate attack.

Wh- What?! ls that true?!

Yeah. l saw it with my own eyes.

That pirate ship is a Marmo military ship.

They had a huge coat of arms flying from the mast.

Marmo... Could it be Ashram?

Dear, what should we do?

All we CAN do: believe in our friends and wait.

Relief forces from Flaim should arrive here in a few days.

Parn and the others as well, so...

But l still have a bad feeling about this.

Parn...

Deed...

Be careful, Parn.

Now is the time!

The time to attack the fire dragon Shooting Star has come!

Prepare to attack!

Keep as much space between each company as possible!

Don`t underestimate the dragon`s flames!

Let`s show that thing what we`re really made of!

Yes, sir!

Deed! l`ll leave any magical support to you.

Right.

Not yet. Let him get in range.

l hear you! But with this much firepower...

...even a dragon has no chance!

Let`s see if we can pierce his heart on the first attack!

The wind... lt`s stopping?

What`s wrong, Deed?

Here it comes!

What?!

You okay, Deed?!

Yeah!

Damn it! Here it comes again!

You`re shooting too soon!

Wait for him to get closer before you fire!

l`ll draw him in!

While l do that, Deed can summon the spirits!

Parn!

Cover Parn! Hee-yaa!

King Kashue! Parn!

Over here!

Shoot! Shoot! Show that beast the honor of Flaim!

Damn you...!

Hurry up, Deed!

Here should do...

"l summon thee, lkuul, great king of the wind!"

"Make the wind become your sword..."

"...and strike the demon dragon with your whirlwind!"

A wind spirit!

Damn you... You monster!

You pathetic humans DARE to wound my body!

l shall attack your cities!

A hundred humans shall die for each scale of mine you have scratched!

l shall kill every last one of you!

Parn!

l`m... l`m all right... But...

lf our army had had even one sorcerer in it...

We`ve lost... We`ve failed...utterly.

Sir Ashram, it appears some people have infiltrated.

lnfiltrators?

Yes. That reminds me, Smeddy.

One of them is someone you can`t beat.

There`s a girl with them who outclasses you in both youth and beauty.

Oh? Does such a woman exist? l like the sound of that.

Right, Astar?

Don`t get your hopes up, Gaberra.

ANY woman is beautiful compared to Smeddy.

Smeddy`s body is very beautiful. At least l think so.

That`s all right, Gilram. A warrior doesn`t need beauty.

Strength is everything. l`ll prove that to you.

lt sounds like fun, doesn`t it?

Coming here with such a small force to attack us...

Are they better than most, or simply fools who don`t know their limits?

Or are they foolish enough to be coming after ME?

l will test them with my own hands!

Looks like it`s this way.

What are you doing? Hurry.

What am l...?

Hurry...?

Sheesh! What`s got them so distracted?

How can they just ignore all this treasure?

Get going!

Ow! Ow! Ow!

That`s the pirates` ship, all right! No doubt about it!

Good! That means we`ve gotten what we came here for!

Marmo.

A Marmo military ship. But why...?

Which means... You don`t suppose Ashram`s here?!

l`m honored.

To think that my name is known by even common thieves like you.

A black knight... That`s Ashram.

That girl, huh?

Calm down, Shiris.

Don`t worry about me. l`m a warrior, remember?

l want to know who sent them. Leave a few alive.

Hobb!

"Great god Myrii, who rules over war."

"Gather heroes here! Grant us thy divine protection in the coming battle!"

"Give us the resolve of iron and the courage of fire!"

So, this is the power of Myrii l`ve heard so much about!

So, this is how it feels to have power welling up inside of you!

You`re not half bad, little girl.

My name is NOT "little girl". lt`s Shiris!

You`re pretty good, aren`t you?

Don`t underestimate me! l learned all l know about fighting from Parn!

"Manna of all creation... Become the fires of destruction!"

Y- You`ve gotta be kidding! This guy`s a monster!

Who are you people?! l`ll wager you work for Kashue!

lf you`re not going to answer me... Then die!

Soul Crusher is reacting to him! What is this man?!

There`s nothing left to say! Now die!

You`re hardly worth any effort, boy.

Enough! Enough! You`ve beat me! l said l was sorry, okay?!

"Power of manna, remake the air."

"Let his heart fall into deep slumber."

What are you...doing...?

What, starting to get winded already, little girl?

Such a poor showing!

You fool!

Gotcha!

Lousy move, little girl.

Surrender! You know you can`t beat me.

Who lS this man?!

Shiris!

Rage... Destroy... Destroy everything!

What?!

Smeddy! This guy`s...strong!

So, that is your true power.

You were only playing with me until now!

What an amusing fellow!

Now to show you the power of Soul Crusher, the demon sword...

...which can smash the soul of any warrior!

Wait. Don`t go! Don`t go yet!

l still have to beat this man!

For Shiris`s sake... l still need your power!

Orson, don`t do it...

Don`t do it! Don`t let it take control...of your heart!

You`re...alive...

l`m... l`m all right.

Thank goodness.

You`ve lost to me. Now surrender quietly, otherwise...

Spare the ones who are still alive. l`m their leader.

l was naive.

Thinking that a large army was enough to slay a dragon...

l was a fool!

A hundred people for every scale...

Just who does he think he is?!

Parn... What are we going to do now?

From here on, l am an ordinary warrior!

Until that fire dragon is dead!

Shadam! Gather the wounded and take them back to Blade!

B- But, King Kashue!

What about you?!

We`re going to need a magic user if we`re to kill that dragon!

l`m going to Raiden to see Slayn!

Kashue, Parn, and Deed urged their steeds to run fast as they dared...

...as they raced to the city of Raiden.

Ashram has already set out for Blue Dragon lsland.

Taking Orson and the others with him as well...

Shiris...

Welcome...

...to Lodoss lsland!

And now, what you`ve all been waiting for...

...the second half of the show!

Parn and the others, hoping to slay Shooting Star...

...have journeyed to the fire dragon`s feeding grounds.

Don`t slow DOWN so soon after the narration!

You`re just going to screw us UP!

l wonder what sort of dragon Shooting Star is.

l`m so excited!

Oh... Hurry up and face us! l`ll show you what l`ve got!

Wow, Parn. You`re really excited about this!

Oh, my... What a weak hero.

Shooting Star, you fiend!

King Kashue of Flaim fears nothing!

Huh? ls that...?

Shooting Star...?! He`s so cute!

This is a dragon?

Oh...! lsn`t he the cutest thing you`ve ever seen?!

Let`s go, Shooting Star! Now l`ll show you the might of Flaim!

How dare you do that to King Kashue!

Don`t cry like that! You make me look like some big villain or something!

ln this case, we`ll use magic to defeat the beast!

Um... But...

Go to it!

"l summon thee, l-Luuk, great king of the wind!"

Well?! How do you like that, dragon?!

Way to go, Dragon! You`ve got some great magic power!

Defeat. And now a new battle begins.

Awakened from his long sleep, the rage of the sea dragon shakes the heavens!

The black knight`s demon sword lights the darkness!

And in the heart of a berserker...

...a long-forgotten light flares to new life!
