And they sort of made it sound like I had a feud with the intelligence community.

Despite statements like this disgraceful that the intelligence agencies

allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake.

And that's something that Nazi Germany would have done and did do.

The new president's first stop might have been to mend fences.

but he used 9 or 15 minutes there to talk about himself.

Back in 2009, he accused the media of using photos to manipulate

the size of the crowd, accused the media of reporting inaccurately.

This was just a sign of things to come.

This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration period.

Of course, this was Donald Trump.

Size does matter to Donald Trump.

When other presidents probably really wouldn't care what.

How big their inauguration crowd was.

But Donald Trump certainly did care.

He claimed there was between 1

to 1.5 million people in the National Mall in Washington, D.C..

I covered Donald Trump's first inauguration.

I also covered Barack Obama's inauguration.

And if it matters, Barack Obama's inauguration

was much bigger in size than Donald Trump.

But a presidency isn't decided

or judged upon by the size of there inauguration crowd.

Unless, I guess you're Donald Trump.

Immigration.

It was his most popular promise.

We've been talking about this right from the beginning.

Today, President Trump put pen to paper

to make his border wall with Mexico.

Build that wall.

Build that wall. Build that wall.

More than just a raucous election cheered

immediate construction of a border wall.

It will initially cost American taxpayers up to $30 billion.

But Donald Trump promises Mexico will pay it back.

Will be reimbursed at a later date from whatever transaction we make from Mexico.

Mexico's president is now considering canceling a trip to the white House

next week in protest.

But Donald Trump doesn't care.

We are going to get the bad ones out.

The criminals and the drug deals.

One of those executive orders was to use $20 billion

to build a permanent wall between Mexico and the US.

It's 3000km or something like 1900 miles long.

While there is, there are parts that are walled off, but it's pretty sparse.

And Donald Trump,

you remember, campaigned heavily on build that wall, build that wall.

And not only that promise that Mexicans would pay for the wall

while Mexico basically said stuff you were not paying for the wall.

Donald Trump has his own fancy plane.

But on his first trip on Air Force One,

even he was impressed with his new flying office.

Beautiful hotels. Just a great plane.

It was a bumpy flight, but not as rocky as his landing.

Arriving back in Washington to a real life Mexican standoff, Mexico

President Enrique Pena Nieto canceled a white House visit next week

after refusing to pay for Trump's $20 billion border wall.

Unless Mexico is going to treat the United States fairly with respect.

Such a meeting would be fruitless.

The US could slap a 20% tax on Mexican goods by doing it that way,

we can do $10 billion a year and easily pay for the wall.

But in effect, that would mean American consumers would foot the bill,

paying more for everything from avocados to car parts.

Former Mexican president Vicente Fox voiced his country's anger.

Mexico is a friend, a partner

of the United States, and we understand

us, people, but we don't understand you.

Donald Trump came up with a great idea of let's have a Mexican import tariff.

We would, impose a tariff of 20% on all products that were imported from Mexico.

Until suddenly someone pointed out that it would be the Americans

who were buying the products from Mexico who would pay for that tariff.

So, in effect, I said

that it would be the Americans

who were buying the products would end up paying 20% more for those products.

So in effect, America would be paying for the wall.

So that was quickly down to.

Not only did

Mexico refuse to pay for the wall, but their former president, Vicente Fox,

came out and said, we're not paying for your wall.

He couldn't have made it any more obvious.

Chaos and confusion at JFK, air Force

tear as thousands

protest against President Trump's new immigration order.

The executive order signed by President Trump is distributed

to less than 24 hours after it was signed.

Migrants were detained at airports across America, including US Army interpreter

Hamid Darwish, held for 18 hours before being released.

I'm very thankful and I'm very happy.

Really, I forget what I, I and

what will happen to me because of those people.

Seven predominantly Muslim countries have been affected by the order.

Syrian refugees are indefinitely banned.

Citizens from the other six countries blocked from entering the US for 90 days.

It's not a muslim ban, but we were totally prepared to work it out very nicely.

But as resistance built across America, a federal judge intervened

today, issuing an emergency stay, halting the deportation of visa holders

and refugees who arrived in the United States after the order was signed.

President Donald Trump defiant and undeterred.

I actually had a very good day yesterday in terms of homeland security.

On another day of demonstrations over his travel ban.

We will fight it with everything we have and we will win this fight.

But the Democrat senator's tears got little sympathy.

Chuck Schumer yesterday with fake tears.

I'm going to ask him who is his acting coach.

And the reality star turned president today fired his acting attorney general.

After the Obama appointed Sally Yates ordered government lawyers

stopped defending Mr.

Trump's executive order.

Speaking out for the first time since leaving office.

Her former boss praised protesters, saying he fundamentally disagrees

with the notion

of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion.

Across the weekend, 109 people were detained in American

airports, many in the sky when the travel ban was signed.

They've all since been released, but lawyers vow their fight has just begun.

Even as

it backed off the president's thunderous weekend phone call.

They have a lot of respect for Australia.

I love Australia as a country, but we had a problem.

The Trump White House was tripping up.

The president had a very cordial conversation with Prime Minister Trump

with who in respect for Prime Minister Trump.

Never mind.

They'd mangled Turnbull with Trump.

The man himself returned from his morning exercise.

Vindicated.

You've just heard, his spokesman said, that we had a very cordial conversation.

How cordial?

Well, President Trump called the Turnbull Obama plan to settle menace

and Nauru refugees in the US the worst deal ever added.

I don't want these people accused Australia of exporting the next Boston

bombers.

And ended the cordial call 35 minutes early.

He's clearly a very big personality. Yep.

We have some wonderful allies.

But we're going to and we're going to keep it that way.

But we have to be treated fairly also.

The refugee arrangement president Trump pilloried

as a dumb deal is still on, but the 1250 would be U.S.

citizens face a very, very extreme vetting process.

We secured the commitment from the US president that we wanted, but at a cost.

Both sides of the Canberra, Washington relationship are now working overtime.

As one insider told me today, it's a flurry of diplomatic outreach,

all to beat out the dent in relations left by Sunday's phone call.

One of Trump's first calls to foreign leaders was to then

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and it was about an agreement

that Turnbull had had reached with the Obama administration

of taking 1200 asylum seekers off Manus Island,

and America would repatriate them in America.

And in return, Australia would take refugees

from Central America and repatriate them in Australia.

Well, Donald Trump was none too happy about that idea,

and that was brought up quickly in that first meeting.

Our first phone call with Malcolm Turnbull, and it got very heated.

In fact, Turnbull said that Donald Trump kept interrupting him, talking over him.

It got very heated.

He said, you're expecting me to take in the next Boston bomber

that you want me to, to bring in 2000 potential terrorists?

It certainly wasn't quite that.

The welcoming phone call that Malcolm Turnbull was expecting.

He called it a stupid and disgusting deal and that he would never agree to it.

Tears of relief as families reunite

in airports across America.

More are now scrambling onto US soil, unsure how long the doors will stay open.

The embassy contacted me and they said,

we are sorry and you are able to travel overnight.

A federal appeals court rejected a bid to immediately reinstate the president's

travel ban before he settled into his Florida Super Bowl party.

President Trump upped his attack on the judge who blocked him,

tweeting, just cannot believe a judge would put our country in such peril.

If something happens, blame him.

And court system. People pouring in bad.

The appeals court could make its final ruling as soon as tomorrow.

But it's a case that now seems destined for the Supreme Court.

Donald Trump made many promises during the election,

and when he was sworn in in the first few days, he was very quick

to enact upon those promises. He.

He used what was called an executive order, their orders that are made

by the president without having to go through and get the approval of Congress.

And he signed more than 20 in the first month alone.

One of them was this order to ban travel from Muslim countries.

He said that that would stop potential terrorist attacks on US soil.

It caused widespread outrage across the world.

It was seen as being, discriminating against people based on their religion.

Ultimately, a court would stop Donald Trump from enforcing that travel ban.

Breaking news tonight, A federal appeals court

has just ruled against President Trump, a major blow for America's new president.

Everything is ground to a halt.

President Trump loses in a unanimous ruling.

Three appeal court judges refused to reinstate his controversial

travel ban, and the defiant tweet appeared in minutes.

See you in court.

The security of our nation is at stake, President Trump wrote,

then said, we'll see you there in court.

It's a political decision and we're going to see them in court.

And I look forward to doing from the states fighting him.

We have seen him in court twice and we're two for two.

Judges ruled the government showed no urgent need for the ban,

no evidence that any alien from any of the countries named in

the order has perpetrated a terrorist attack in the United States.

They agreed the ban would hurt families and universities if it went ahead.

Right now, a supreme Court fight is unpredictable.

There is still only eight justices after the death of one last year,

and ideologically, they split down the middle.

If they were to tie 4 to 4, it means today's ruling would remain.

There are now 12 lawsuits in eight states against the travel ban.

On the 28th day.

President Trump called a press conference with little notice and unleashed.

I turned on the TV, open the newspapers, and I see stories of chaos.

Chaos.

Yet it is the exact opposite.

This administration

is running like a fine tuned machine for a fiery hour.

In 17 minutes, he railed against the media for not giving him credit.

I inherited a mess.

It's a mess in its story after story after story is bad.

I'm really not a bad person, by the way.

No, but the tone is such.

I do get good ratings.

You have to admit that I'm not ranting and raving.

I love this, I'm having a good time doing it.

But tomorrow the headlines are going to be Donald Trump Rants.

And if

I'm not ranting,

Trump's critics call today's conference a meltdown, even unhinged.

But for his supporters, it's another victory against the elite.

A key reason they sent him to the white House.

I'm here following through and what I pledged to do.

So all I'm doing, and it seems he'll have to get used to the headlines.

Fronting a conservative conference.

Donald Trump was back among friends.

I love this place.

He made a victory lap before launching an attack on the press.

A few days ago, I called the fake news.

The enemy of the people. And they are.

They are the enemy of the people.

The long running feud.

Again, the focus of today's speech to his Republican supporters.

They shouldn't be allowed to use sources

unless they use somebodies name sources, like those who leaked information

about sacked national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Conversations with Russia Today Donald

Trump took a swipe at law enforcement for the leaks,

saying the FBI is totally unable to stop the national security leakers

that have permeated our government for a long time.

Shortly after Donald Trump's speech, his press adviser, Sean Spicer,

came under fire from a group of news outlets, including CNN,

who say they were banned from a white House update, a move

that concerned some journalists so much they boycotted the briefing.

In December, Spicer made this statement.

I think we have a respect for the press,

when it comes

to the government, that that is something that you can't ban an entity from today,

a deepening divide between the president and the press and narrative

that's dominated his first month in office.

The president of the United States,

before country and Congress,

Donald Trump, delivered his most presidential moments.

The time for small thinking is over.

The time for trivial fights is behind us.

I am here tonight to deliver a message of unity and strength,

and it is a message deeply delivered from my heart.

As the president laid a long standing ovation to her Navy Seal husband Ryan,

who died in a recent raid in Yemen, Ryan is looking down right now.

You know that.

And he's very happy because I think he just broke a record.

Even those who disagree with the substance of tonight's address

admit it is a turning point in tone for Donald Trump.

They're now waiting to see if this is a new reality or just a speech.

Believe in your future and believe

once more in America.

He arrived to open arms and chiefs in Tennessee.

Proud to be an American.

But beneath the smile.

Let me give you the bad news.

Donald Trump was seething.

A judge has just blocked our executive order on travel

and refugees coming into our country from certain countries.

Just hours before it was due to take effect.

Travel ban Mark two was blocked by a judge in Hawaii.

We will not tolerate discrimination

on the basis of a national origin or religion.

The state argued the ban, affecting citizens from six mostly Muslim

countries, would harm Hawaii's tourism, foreign students and businesses.

Today's decision

has set the stage for another showdown between the president and the judiciary,

with Donald Trump vowing to challenge the decision in the Supreme

Court.

Climbing into a big rig

with a double fist pump.

Donald Trump began his day in the driver's seat,

promising American truckies his health care plan would protect them.

Today, the House is voting. But they weren't.

In fact, as the president spoke, his health deal was flatlining.

I don't think there can be a vote tonight because they don't have the votes.

Still, the white House was overly confident it's going to pass.

So that's it.

There is only plan A right at this point.

Is there an acknowledgment

that perhaps there does need to be a plan B if this doesn't happen to plan A,

but less than two hours later, the vote was off.

Sparing the president a humiliating defeat as the man who brands himself

the master negotiator struggles to get his own party to back him.

This vote was more than just delivering on a campaign promise.

It was personal.

Donald Trump wanted a victory today.

A symbolic win exactly seven years since Barack

Obama signed his health plan into law.

He's America's negotiator in chief.

But Donald Trump couldn't pull off his biggest political deal,

replacing Barack Obama's controversial health care plan.

We were very close, and it was a very, very tight margin.

We had no Democrat support.

But the real failure was being unable to convince fellow Republicans

who now control Congress to vote for Trump's health care plan.

And I'm disappointed because we could have had it.

His first major loss hurt.

I will not sugarcoat this.

This is a disappointing day for us.

Doing big things is hard.

Getting rid of Obamacare was one of Donald Trump's biggest campaign promises.

Repeal and replace Obamacare.

Moving from an opposition party to a governing party comes with growing pains.

And, well, we're feeling those growing pains today.

After two days of intense negotiations, Trump called off the vote

at the last minute.

When it became obvious it would fail.

Today is a great day for our country.

It's a victory.

What happened on the floor is a victory for the American people.

From under the cover of darkness.

Launched from warships in the Mediterranean.

A barrage of missiles in a surprise attack.

Six years into the Syrian war.

And America makes its first direct assault the trigger.

This week's chemical attacks.

Tonight, I ordered a targeted military strike

on the airfield in Syria.

From where the chemical attack

was launched.

59 Tomahawks were fired at 3:45 a.m.

local time from destroyers the USS Porter and USS Ross, targeting

Syria's Al Surat airbase, 120km from where

those chemical attacks occurred.

The chemical blitz killed at least 72 people and injured

hundreds more, including children.

Autopsies have confirmed the nerve agent was used, probably sarin.

It left the victims in agony, paralyzed, frothing at the mouth.

President Trump was deeply shocked by the images.

No child of God should ever suffer such horror.

The world condemnation was near universal.

It's a serious matter.

It requires a serious response and critically, it move Mr.

Trump to reverse a longstanding US position against involvement.

This is our breaking news the first video of U.S.

military strikes.

The president had hinted action was imminent.

Yesterday onboard Air Force One.

I think what happened in Syria is a disgrace to humanity.

And he's there, and I guess he's running things.

So something should happen.

The attack killed at least four Syrian soldiers, including a general,

and took out a dozen hangars, fuel depot and air defenses.

It was a crime that called out for a swift response.

And today, the United States has responded

to the Tomahawk cruise missiles, almost three meters long,

fly low at 1000km an hour, cost three quarters of $1 million each.

They are the US weapon of choice to attack from safe distances.

But there are grave implications now for Allied military

in and over Syria, including Australia's F-18 Hornets.

Our RAAF operations have not been suspended.

We've taken all of that into account in terms of our own force protection.

The question now, how will Syria's key backer Russia respond?

Their relationship with the US now appears terminal.

This has got to be one of the last nails, if not the last nail in the coffin.

The US and Russia endured decades of Cold War.

Everyone now praying a hot war isn't sparked.

and invited to see not weapons, but a ribbon cutting ceremony,

a new high rise complex to prove the country's economically strong

and capable of funding a potential war.

I don't know if this sends a message.

It doesn't make any difference if it does or not.

North Korea's a problem.

The problem will be taken care of with the attack on Islamic State.

The president is proving he's willing to put his tough talk on the campaign.

I would bomb the out of them into action.

Again, the pride of a nation on display.

Either propaganda or a dark ambition.

As the trumpets sound, the images on screen reveal a simulated nuclear

strike on a US city, something America fears.

Dictator Kim Jong UN could have the ability to carry out one day.

We are sending an armada

The Carl Vinson was actually steaming towards Australia for exercises.

While the United States continues to exert pressure on Pyongyang.

The fact remains it is placing a lot of pressure on itself as well.

Donald Trump has vowed to solve what he calls the North Korea problem,

and right now, diplomatic options are all but exhausted.

It was an ambitious action plan.

100 days to make America great Again.

We will get the job done.

But on the eve of the milestone, Donald Trump was playing down

his pitch is a very extreme emphasis placed on this 100 days journey.

It's not quite as big as they're saying, but we have really laid a foundation.

But so far it's based on executive orders, not legislation.

Despite his majority in Congress,

the 100 day standard historically has always been mainly

a question of how much legislation have you got through Congress from the get go?

Key war cry promises were falling apart.

Trump decided days after

the election jailing Hillary Clinton was a bad idea.

From day one, he didn't drain the swamp.

He's cabinets worth $14 billion.

Four days in, he did scrap the Trans-Pacific partnership,

but the wall is stalled.

Mexico's president canceled the white House meeting, and they won't pay for it.

Day nine the travel ban sparks global protests.

It's then killed off in court.

Trump sacked his first national security advisor

by day 25 over contact with Russia.

Then even his party wouldn't support his promise to scrap Obamacare.

Day 77 President Trump bombed Syria

determined to show American might Donald Trump's approval

rating is hovering in the low 40s, making him

the most unpopular new leader in modern American history.

But ultimately, his presidency won't be judged by the first 100 days.

But the 1362 days he has lived.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is now on his way here to New York

for his first meeting with Donald Trump, saying he's looking forward

to the introduction.

Despite the president reportedly hanging up on the Australian leader

earlier this year was a very frank, courteous and forthright call

and I'm sure will love his time like it did not.

Though the PM says the Trumps shouldn't count on a gift.

Finally, face to face.

Appreciate your waiting.

President Trump couldn't wait to give his new version of that

famously testy phone call he once labeled the worst he'd had.

I know there's a big exaggeration.

I want to say we had a great call. A little bit of fake news.

This is exactly right.

Mr. Trump flew into the historic New York meeting, claiming

the fight over our refugee resettlement deal was long over.

I love Australia, I always had their wives join the pair for a black tie

dinner, peppered with celebrity friends like John Travolta

and Grant Hackett recently rehab.

This was a long awaited face to face with the American president,

but Malcolm Turnbull would be forced to wait even longer.

The meeting delayed while Donald Trump remained in Washington,

D.C., to push through his health care reform.

I'll be honest, I didn't like the look of our Prime minister being kept waiting.

Their eventual meeting was cut in half, but they claim to cover a lot

in 30 minutes.

From national security to trade

to immigration and enhanced economic cooperation.

Donald Trump was revered in Riyadh.

You have a unique personality that is capable of doing the impossible.

I think it

by taking center stage.

The president turned the tables, challenging the Muslim leaders

watching on to purge their societies of terrorism.

There can be no coexistence with this violence.

There can be no tolerating it,

no accepting it, no excusing it and no ignoring it.

Casting the fight against extremism is good versus evil.

Not between the West and Islam.

This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate

human life and decent people, all in the name of religion.

The president pledged to work alongside Middle East nations in that battle,

but put the onus for defeating terrorism back on the region.

The nations of the Middle East cannot wait for American power to crush this enemy

for them.

Today's address

was the centerpiece of Donald Trump's two day visit to Saudi Arabia.

It's widely seen as a step away from the anti-Muslim

rhetoric of his campaign, and a step towards easing concerns

that his administration discriminates on the basis of religion.

Iran, however, was singled out for training terrorists, extremist groups

and militias accused of fueling the fire of sectarian conflict and terror.

After 22 days without a press conference

and nearly 48 hours of Twitter, Donald Trump was feeling popular.

Oh, look at those hands up.

Their president claiming

he'd been vindicated by James Comey's explosive evidence yesterday.

No collusion, no obstruction.

He's a leaker.

James Comey confirmed a lot of what I said.

But the president says Comey also raised some things he didn't say,

denying he'd pressured the FBI director

to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

I didn't say that.

So he lied about that.

Well, I didn't say that.

I mean, I will tell you, I didn't say that.

Also rubbishing claims he demanded James Comey pledge his loyalty.

I hardly know the man. I'm not going to say.

I want you to pledge allegiance. Who would do that?

Who would ask a man to pledge allegiance under oath?

I mean, think of it.

I hardly know the man.

Effectively accusing the nation's former top cop of lying under oath.

Perjury, a criminal offense.

Would you be willing to speak under oath to give your version of 100%?

It's now Donald Trump's word against James Comey,

with both men accusing each other of lying.

That's unless the conversations were recorded.

Critics suggest Donald Trump should seek the advice of another prominent female.

One of the things I think is most compelling about the Australian system

is the efforts to make sure that immigrants are financially self-sufficient

and make sure they're able to pay for their own health care

by half a million people.

Legal immigration doesn't make much sense.

While he endorsed one bill today, President Trump reluctantly

signed off on another, agreeing to impose sanctions on Russia.

But calling the legislation significantly flawed, even unconstitutional.

Medvedev said the move amounted to a full fledged economic war.

They've been the vein

of the Trump administration and today the white House declared war on leakers.

A car plows into a crowd of people on the streets

of Charlotte, Virginia, and just went flying everywhere.

And I mean, it's it's the most horrific thing I've ever seen.

At least one person was killed.

More than 20 injured.

Witnesses say they were counter-protesters marching against the thousands

of white nationalists who had descended on the city for a second straight day.

There was blood all over this.

Did not have any police teams in out windows.

We couldn't even see them. It seemed like it was planned.

The chaos in the streets was mirrored in the skies.

A police helicopter which had been monitoring the scene

lost control spiraling into the ground, killing the two officers on board.

We saw like a bill of smoke, I guess, above the trees over there.

Ultra right.

And white nationalist groups are in the southern city to protest plans

to remove a statue of a Civil War general waving Confederate and Nazi symbols.

They taunted those who challenged their message of hate.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms

this egregious display of hatred, bigotry

and violence on many sides, on many sides.

Above all else, we must remember this truth.

No matter our color,

creed, religion or political party.

We are all Americans first.

A state of emergency has now been declared,

giving law enforcement more resources to try to keep the peace.

150 years after the Civil War,

Confederate monuments are being taken down or covered up.

As Americans march against hatred and their president

are outraged by Donald Trump's assertion

that the Charlottesville riot was not the fault of white supremacists.

I think there's blame on both sides.

The claim prompted

both former Bush presidents to issue a rare joint statement, saying

America must always reject racial bigotry,

anti-Semitism and hatred in all forms.

Condemnation repeated in the president's own party.

We should speak unequivocally,

condemning their hatred, condemning their racism.

This is terrible.

The president of the United States needs to condemn these kind of hate groups.

Donald Trump now faces a full scale rebellion today, disbanding

two of his business councils trying to avoid a mass exodus

after eight business leaders quit in protest of May.

As Charlottesville laid to rest a victim of that violent day.

No father should have to do this.

Heather Heyer was mowed down by a car allegedly driven by a neo-Nazi.

They tried to kill my child to shut her up.

Well guess what?

You just magnified her. No public comment

from Donald Trump, who returned to his golf course in new Jersey,

instead tweeting his

condolences, saying Heather was a truly special young woman.

She will be long remembered by all.

Donald Trump

had campaigned on taking a tougher stance on North Korea.

Barack Obama had warned him that it was perhaps the biggest and most dangerous

challenge, and Donald Trump threatened absolute violence on North Korea

if it continued its push towards nuclear weapons.

North Korea quickly tested that theory and launched

its first successful intercontinental ballistic missile.

Not long after Donald Trump took power and then successfully tested

what many people believe was a hydrogen bomb.

Donald Trump said any attack by North Korea would be met with fire and power.

The likes that has never been seen before.

And he'd go on to call Kim Jong UN the dictator.

Little rocket man Kim Jong un will respond and call Donald Trump

a US dotard and said A frightened dog barks louder.

Donald Trump would respond that my nuclear button

is bigger than your nuclear button.

It actually works.

This is the president, the United States getting into a

slanging match with a dictator about whose nuclear button is bigger.

It is not funny.

It's it's damn frightening.

President of the United States of America,

the star speaker at an organization he mocks.

Donald Trump delivered an ominous verbal attack

on North Korea, promising the real thing could soon follow.

The United States has great strength and patience,

but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies,

we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.

Menacing words to for its dictator, who he calls

Rocket Man, is on a suicide mission

for himself and for his regime.

That comment launched an arsenal of internet memes aimed at Kim Jong un.

Critics warn the rhetoric may just embolden the dictator,

but our prime minister agrees with the US president.

I've said President Trump and I've said exactly the same thing

if if he attacks the United States, that is a suicide note for his regime.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, who will deliver Australia's UN

address on Saturday, spoke with the president after his speech.

I think the focus should be on North Korea's behavior, rather than the way

the president may or may not describe him.

North Korea wasn't Donald Trump's only target.

He also called for action against what he labeled the murderous regime of Iran,

indicating America could pull out of the Iranian nuclear deal.

The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one sided transactions

the United States has ever entered into.

Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States.

President Trump warned

parts of the world are going to hell before threatening to help send them.

ravaged Puerto Rico, the US president throws aid and receives praise

for the response to a disaster caused by Mother Nature.

While on the homeland, Americans grapple with a manmade tragedy.

But if they wanted debate on guns, it's not a priority at the white House.

The police department has done such an incredible job,

and we'll be talking about gun laws as time goes by.

Before President Trump left for the hurricanes zone,

he spoke by phone to the Las Vegas mayor and police chiefs.

Verbal support as more states were drawn into the tragedy.

The gunman bought his cache of weapons in Utah,

California, Texas and Nevada.

Enough deadly power to keep firing for 11 minutes.

Swat teams found him dead beside his munitions 72 minutes later,

is pass laws that keep our citizens safe.

that make America safer and don't infringe on the Second Amendment.

President Trump, like so many presidents, would very quickly

be confronted with one of the scourges of America gun violence.

And an October 2017.

60 people were shot dead while attending a country music festival.

Stephen Paddock, the gunman, had rented a room

in the Mandalay Bay overlooking where the concert was.

He had a dozen or so high powered weapons

and fired more than a thousand shots.

The people below had no chance.

This absolute wall of bullets coming towards them.

Unexpectedly, 60 people died.

He later killed himself. But what it did.

It would test Donald Trump as other

presidents had been tested on America's love of guns.

Donald Trump had run for office very much pro-gun.

He would come

out and say that he opposed tightening gun laws, saying that tighter gun laws would

not stop a madman who would only infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens.

He did, however, allow one small concession,

the so-called bump stock, which was, a stock that was added to,

a gun that would make a semi-automatic gun into an automatic gun.

But other than that, laws were not changed.

It's what opponents have long dreamed of.

Turning off Donald Trump's Twitter feed.

And for 11 minutes, the president's direct connection with supporters

didn't exist when it was turned back on, Trump tweeted.

My Twitter account was taken down by a rogue employee.

I guess the word must finally be getting out and having an impact.

Turns out it was that rogue employee's last day.

Twitter says it's taking steps to prevent this from happening again.

If one individual at Twitter can have this type of access to an account

and shut it down, then what's to prevent them from threatening nuclear war?

Real Donald Trump has almost 42 million followers and has tweeted

36,000 times a single word.

Setting world agenda like threatening war with North Korea.

With his Twitter account back on today, Donald Trump

embarked on the longest presidential trip in 25 years.

A 12 day Asian sweep with stops in China, South Korea

and Japan to talk about the growing danger of North Korea.

Before he left, the president issued a warning to Islamic State

after it claimed responsibility for this week's New York terrorist attack.

So when we have an animal to an attack like he did the other day

on the west side of Manhattan, we are hitting them ten times harder.

And of course, he backed up the threat with a tweet.

In Beijing, though, a painting the town

read on the day that happened to mark Donald Trump's first anniversary.

The president of the United States.

His election was a political earthquake.

And ever since, the cracks have stretched across America.

We passed the largest tax cuts

in the history of our country and many other things along with it.

President Trump is tonight a step closer to his first major legislative win,

Senate voting to slash America's

company taxes from 35 to 20%

and deliver modest tax breaks for families and individuals.

It's about restoring the American dream, but the dream won't come cheap.

Adding over $1 trillion to the deficit.

Most Americans will rue this day.

Democrats say it will hurt, not help, the middle class.

The bill 400 pages long.

Can you tell me what that word is?

Was distributed just hours before the vote.

With hand scribbled amendments.

I should take a look at this. Folks, this is your government.

Were speaking before a room of donors in Manhattan today.

President Trump claimed victory.

If you look at it, we're going to grow the country.

We're going to grow jobs.

We're going to be growing everything while outside.

The news was met with a chorus of resistance.

Want to know who will reap the huge benefits under this plan?

The question for Americans now is whether the company tax cuts will result

in more jobs and higher wages, or if businesses will pocket the extra cash.

The bill will now go to the House of Representatives, and President Trump

wants a final version on his desk by Christmas.

A Tale of Two

Cities as the Star of David and Stars and Stripes

are projected onto the Old City of Jerusalem, Palestine.

Both expected reactions to this.

It is time to officially recognize

Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Seven decades of international policy changed in an instant.

This is nothing more or less

than a recognition of reality.

Palestine sees a different reality where East Jerusalem

would be the capital of a future Palestinian state.

It's going to be a grave mistake.

Grave mistake.

It will not bring any stability,

but rather to the world and regional leaders, including

NATO allies and the pope had warned the president against this decision.

It's now being described as a symbolic slap to the face

to millions of Muslims, and a gift to the Jewish people.

We are profoundly grateful for the president for his courageous

and just decision.

President Trump's also broken ranks with more than 80 other nations

that have embassies in Israel, following through on a campaign promise.

We will move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

We will not be taking steps to move our embassy.

America is set to be isolated in one of the world's oldest cities,

and longest running disputes.

These really

push back against protests in the narrow streets of Jerusalem's Old City

and outside the walls of Damascus Gate.

A zero tolerance approach from Israeli

security forces dragging some men away, trying to keep a lid on what was billed

as a day of rage, but may have been more a day of mere agitation

and, for some frustration at Donald Trump's unilateral decision

to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital city.

Palestinians want one day as their capital is largely occupied by Israel.

That is Trump's decision was a mistake.

These Palestinian shopkeepers says it will cause problems across the world.

And today, the protests spread from the West Bank,

where more rocks were hurled and Israeli soldiers, more tear

gas fired back to Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iran.

Of the United Nations, the US tried to clarify, but not back away.

The United States has not taken a position on boundaries or borders.

The specific dimensions of sovereignty over Jerusalem

are still to be decided by the Israelis and the Palestinians in negotiations.

But most other countries believe those negotiations are now much harder.

After the US effectively took sides.

This was Israel's response to

a third day of Palestinian rage.

Protesters hurled stones at Israeli troops.

They respond with tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades.

Riot police

on horseback to quell protests against Donald Trump's decision

to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

In Gaza.

Funerals were held for two Hamas militants killed

by Israeli warplanes that bombed weapons factories.

The airstrikes coming just hours after rockets were fired into Israel.

We call on all the world's peace loving nations to reject the US

president's illegal decision

and to recognize the State of Palestine and with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They have no mandate to give away Jerusalem to an occupying power.

While global

pressure is unlikely to change President Trump's mind.

Focus on the destructive radical Islamic terrorism

that is taking place within the United Kingdom.

We are doing just fine.

This afternoon,

this violent video was branded a fake, badged as a muslim migrant attack.

But according to Dutch officials,

the perpetrator was born and raised in the Netherlands.

Whether it's it's a real video, the threat is real

and that is what the president is talking about.

Tonight,

the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan praised Donald Trump for his retweets

as the white House was once again left to defend the president's judgment.

Steve Bannon, once

Trump's right hand man, now dishing the dirt.

And the president isn't happy, I think, furious.

Disgusted would probably certainly fit when you, make such outrageous claims.

In an explosive

new book, Trump's former chief strategist rips into the president's son.

Son in law and former campaign chairman, calling that infamous meeting

with Russians during the election campaign treasonous and unpatriotic,

insisting they should have called the FBI immediately.

Trump's response a scathing statement saying When Bannon was fired,

he lost not only his job, he lost his mind.

A far cry from these comments at the time.

Steve has been a friend of mine for a long time. I like Steve a lot.

And Bannon defends the Russia investigation

long dismissed by President Trump as a witch hunt.

This may be strategic by Bannon to try and demonstrate that he had no part

in conduct that he may perceive as risky by other members of the Trump team.

And tonight, a major development.

As the clock struck

midnight in Washington, Donald Trump's lawyers issued a legal threat

warning Bannon of numerous material breaches of his employment agreement

and making disparaging statements and in some cases,

outright defamatory statements about President Trump and his family.

In another sensational development, it's been revealed

Trump's former campaign chairman is suing the Justice Department

and special prosecutor Robert Mueller over the Russia investigation.

Paul Manafort claims the probe is too broad and therefore illegal.

The latest attempt by the Trump camp to have it shut down.

A furious Donald

Trump fires back, defending his fitness for office

as a very excellent student came out, made billions

and billions of dollars, became one of the top businesspeople,

went to television and for ten years was a tremendous success.

As you probably have heard, slamming fire and fury

as fiction and its author as a fraud.

I never interviewed with him in the white House at all.

He was never in the Oval Office on the day it was released,

the controversial tell All became a bestseller.

Author Michael Wolff claims those closest to the president

questioned his ability to do the job.

They say he's, a moron, an idiot.

The president first hit back online, launching a bizarre Twitter tirade.

My two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart,

he said, before describing himself as a genius and a very stable genius at that.

Trump's attempts to have the book banned from sale have so far failed.

Consider it a work of fiction, and I think it's a disgrace

that somebody is able to, have something do something like that.

The libel laws are very weak in this country.

The president once again saved his most scathing criticism for the man who helped

get him into office in the first place, former chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Donald Trump says he gave Michael Wolff too much access.

But I don't know this man.

I guess, Sloppy Steve brought him into the white House

quite a bit, and it was one of those things.

That's why Sloppy Steve is now looking for a job.

Donald Trump declared himself a, quote, very stable genius.

I'm really smart. I'm smart.

I'm like a smart person.

Trust me, I'm like a smart person.

Today, a doctor offered his own diagnosis.

The president,

you know, he's very sharp with questions swirling about his mental fitness.

The commander in chief requested a cognitive exam

be included in his first annual presidential health check.

And I think he saw, doing the physical as an opportunity to,

to put some of that, to rest.

The white House physician ruling out early onset Alzheimer's and dementia

and criticizing medical professionals suggesting it.

But at six foot three and 110kg, the president is clinically overweight.

The lover of fast food and dessert warned to try a low fat diet and exercise.

He's more enthusiastic about the diet part

than the exercise part, but we're going to do both.

He also doesn't get enough sleep just 4 to 5 hours a night.

He has a lot a lot of energy, a lot of energy and a lot of stamina.

So from

day one, it was high drama, even for a reality star.

So help me God.

Congratulations, Mr. President. Yeah.

With both sides pointing the finger.

We all knew Donald Trump would be a different president.

That was obvious.

But we also believe that once in the white House, the power of the office,

the responsibility would make him less unpredictable.
