You know, Aiden, I appreciate that you gave me a chance
and I appreciate that you saw the good in me
and you never underestimated me.
Because many people, they saw only the bad.
And I'm really grateful for that chance
to spend the rest of my life with you.
But you know.
You'll never disappoint me, right?
If you ever do something like that,
my mood can change quickly.
You don't wanna see me like that.
You're a good little girl.
Yeah. You're a good little girl, aren't you?
You are, you're beautiful, aren't you?
You're okay with the dogs, I'm glad to see.
They'll be running in and out
as we go through the session.
Yeah.
There's Mini and Maxi.
What are they, therapy dogs?
Yeah. They're therapy dogs.
Oh, beautiful.
Fiercely loyal, aren't they?
Yes.
You wouldn't hurt anyone, would you? No.
Beautiful.
So, Aiden, I've got a rough idea of your history.
Before I can continue,
I do need you to sign the disclaimer for me.
If you could just read that through and.
Here's a pen.
So what is this?
That's an agreement to our conditions.
And it says here
that I can't leave for the whole week.
That's right.
So I can't even go for a walk into town
and maybe get a pint if I'm feeling a little bit frustrated?
No, no.
It says I'm not allowed to disclose the techniques
and practices and treatments with anyone.
That's right, no.
Hm.
Um.
I do need that commitment from you, that you will.
Well, I'm committed, I'm here.
And we've got a cabin for you, it's down the field
and it's used for situations like yours.
And it does take a week for you to commit to.
Well, I'm here, I'm committed.
Look, you got my commitment
and I've heard that your methods
are somewhat unorthodox and unconventional.
And I like that.
- Good. - Oh, let's sign this thing,
let's do it.
Well done.
Thank you.
So where do we go from here?
I'd like to hear from you,
maybe what you hope to achieve.
I guess I just wanna feel like my old self.
I just wanna get myself back. My independence.
I used to be the life and soul of the party.
All my friends used to say I bought such joy into a room.
Never short of a party invite.
Since Ivan came into my life,
that's when it all changed.
You know, when I first met him, he was like,
I thought I was punching above my weight.
My friends were quick enough to tell me so.
I mean, he's gorgeous.
He was so charming,
and he sort of engaged with them
as if it was his own friends and family
and I started to get a bit jealous,
like they liked him more than me sometimes.
Well, he started off with love bombing me
and I was the center of his universe
and he was the center of my universe.
But then over time, he changed.
He made me feel like I was the problem.
He paraded himself to my friends and family
like such the nice guy, such the good guy,
such the hero, like I was the problem.
Even my friends and family started looking at me
like I was a problem.
They believed him over me.
Well, I was not the problem, it was Ivan,
it was always Ivan.
He was just so goddamn clever at just putting on this mask,
at being such a good guy, the hero.
And he took such praise from that.
It made him validate who he was.
Basically, some people say that's how a narcissist acts.
They love bomb you
and then they just start manipulating you.
They get jealous and he seemed so confident
when I met him and then suddenly I saw his insecurities.
I saw the inner child in him.
He was weak, yet he was cruel at the same time.
I started to fear being alone with him.
Fear?
Yeah, fear.
Tell me more about the fear.
See, Ivan's a strong man.
Masculine, and that's what I was attracted to.
The power he has over me is what I'm afraid of.
Tell me more about the power
that you feel that he's got.
He just asserts this masculinity, this danger,
this threat that if I just step out of place
just one little bit, that's it, smashes up my computer.
I didn't know if I was coming home to a smile
or a slap or a punch.
But when he's pinning you up against a wall,
spitting in your face,
and then punching the living daylights out of you,
that's not who I fell in love with
and I am not gonna put up with that anymore.
I just wanna take the power away from him
and I wanna give the power back to myself.
But I need the safe zone to do that.
If he knew I was here, I know what would happen,
it wouldn't be pleasant
'cause he'd see you as a problem as well.
He's very clever at covering his tracks.
And I do worry that if I left him
and he couldn't find me,
he would harm those around me,
my friends and my family.
And I think I need this time out,
he doesn't even know I'm here.
Okay, I understand.
Well, do you?
I mean, what good is it really gonna do me
being here for a week?
I mean, what are you gonna teach me?
Or what insights can you provide
that's gonna provide me and those I care for safety?
What I want to do is understand your emotions.
I wanna know everything about you.
I wanna know every detail.
Emotions, I mean, right now
I feel like I'm just numb to my emotions.
I've had to protect my emotions
and build a wall so high to protect myself,
some of my friends just say
I'm like emotionally void, emotionally dead.
It's like I've got no human aspect anymore.
It's just sucked out of me.
I don't feel, I don't feel emotional, I don't feel myself,
I don't feel like I'm Aiden anymore.
I fear for my life
and I fear for those around me.
Why haven't you been to the police about it?
I mean, not being funny, they don't make it easy
going to the police, reporting abuse,
and certainly male abuse from a male abuser.
I've got pride.
Aiden, we're going to the cabin in a minute.
You're gonna think of it as a retreat.
It's a place where you can reflect
on your innermost emotions
and I want you isolated from the outside world.
I don't want you to interact with the outside world.
I want you to make a video diary on your phone
and send them to me
each time that you go through a process of discovery
and we can use that video
over the course of treatment for you further.
I guess the only obstacle that I've got
is leaving him.
Thank you, Dr. Williams.
You're welcome.
- Here we go. - Wow.
You've got so much land.
And it's a gorgeous day as well.
I want you to come along this way, and-
I think this fresh air
is gonna do me the world of good.
Oh wow.
Is this my cabin?
No, this isn't yours,
but we don't want you to know anything about-
Well, can I at least meet them?
No, you're not to meet anyone on this experiment.
I mean, project.
I don't want you to know anything about anyone else.
Your curiosity is gonna get the better of you.
The only thing I want you to be curious about
is your video messaging.
Oh, this is gorgeous.
So how many cabins do you have?
More than enough.
Is there any food in the cabin?
No.
So.
It makes me feel-
Feel?
Yeah, it makes me feel claustrophobic.
That's a start.
That'll do for now.
It's not a good feeling, is it? To be honest.
Sorry. Anyway, show me round.
Hm.
Well, that's the bedroom, this is the diner,
that's the kitchen.
And that's where the water is.
I guess this is the lounge?
Yeah.
Where,
where do I get the food?
There isn't any food.
What do you mean there isn't any food?
Remember, there's no food.
Yeah, but you were joking, right,
when you said there's no food for the week?
No, I wasn't joking.
And you signed the contract, the disclaimer,
you are gonna go ahead with the process.
But I can't go for a week with no food.
Aiden, you can go for a week, trust us.
Just trust the process. It's early days.
Yeah, but I didn't sign up for no food for a week.
It's alright.
You're gonna make the video messages
and you're gonna go into yourself
and let me know how things are going
and we'll have you covered.
It's disgusting.
Why the fuck would they give me a fridge with no food?
Fucking hell.
What're you doing?
Just dropping off the last of the logs.
Who are you?
I'm a local woodsman.
Right.
Here for a week, right?
Yeah.
Well, I'd be very careful.
Okay.
So I've just had a trigger event
where a guy, a stranger,
a threatening presence has just come around
and quite frankly, unsettled me, unnerved me.
So I'm trying to process what I'm feeling.
I'm feeling fucking scared if I'm honest.
I mean...
I mean, who just drops off wood like that?
And then he gave me a warning.
Did I just imagine that? The warning?
No, he definitely said, you know,
be careful or something.
Oh, see now my heart, and my heart rate's gone up.
I've got palpitations and the feeling, I'm on edge.
And this takes me right back to that bloody git Ivan.
How he always made me feel, unsettled, unnerved,
and I can't feel like I'm present or calm
like I was five minutes ago.
Now I'm just in a real high state of alert
if I'm honest, oh, this week's not gonna be easy, is it?
So, Dr. Williams, this is my first video blog
and there will be more, I'm sure.
I need to process this,
but I need a bit of time out, time out.
Hm.
Okay, Dr. Williams, do you know what?
I'm just in a moment, a state of anger.
I've just come to a realisation, that nobody's had my back.
My family, my so-called friends.
Where were they? Why didn't they see the red flags?
Nobody had my back.
And yes, I invited Ivan into my life.
He didn't have my back, they didn't have my back,
and do you know what's even more disappointing?
I didn't have my own back.
I tolerated this abuse for far too long.
So yes, they're enablers, but I enabled it as well.
I welcomed him into my life
and kept him in my life for far too fucking long.
Things have got to change and change starts now.
So you wanna know how I'm feeling?
You want us to explore my emotions?
Right now I'm fucking pissed.
I'm not drinking that.
What's that?
That's weird.
I felt as if the paranoia was so strong,
as if somebody was right there with me watching me.
But not just looking at me from afar,
looking at me, right up close and looking right into me.
I don't know if this is my self-reflection.
I guess I'm not alone enough to sort of self-reflect,
I guess this is what your experiment stroke programme
is supposed to get me to do, to go deeper in myself.
So I guess, Dr. Williams, this is working.
I just needed to come out 'cause what I realise
is that actually, after having a bout of paranoia,
hunger pains, thank you very much for that,
and having a slight threat earlier from the woodsman,
actually, I realised that cabin fever is a real thing.
And I realised where that comes from, cabin fever,
the more I feel about being isolated, contained,
this is it, and I think I've been contained
for far too long in an unhealthy relationship.
And actually just by leaving the cabin,
I don't feel contained.
So what I'm learning already is the fact of getting out,
releasing myself, not feeling like a prisoner.
It's all very symbolic
for what I'm going through with Ivan.
So I need to get out of the relationship,
feel the freedom, breathe in fresh air,
and be present.
'Cause you know what?
This world's not a bad place.
It's just full of bad people.
David, stop recording my ass.
By the way, Aiden, where the heck are you?
I sent you like three messages so far
and you're not responding.
I don't know what's going on, but I hope you're well.
But I don't know if you're joining us or not,
but tonight's gonna be a really, really hot night
because look at all those muscles.
My bicep is gonna explode
with all those hot guys over there.
But the thing is that without you,
I'm very, very vulnerable.
You are like my little protection.
And it's gonna be really, really uncomfortable for me
being around those hot guys there.
As soon as you see my message,
please respond to me and,
and let me know what's going on.
And I know that you're going to call me, right?
I know that.
Who do you think you are, Aiden?
You've read my message
and you haven't responded to my message.
I can't believe, like,
who the heck do you think you are?
We've been waiting for hours
and you haven't sent us a text or even a call.
But, do you know what?
We are going out.
We're gonna have some fun,
we're gonna have some drinks.
And it's your own decision
if you would like to join us or not.
I don't care.
I don't care, I'm not angry.
I'm disappointed.
Because you're not only
letting me down,
but you're letting your friends down, okay?
And that speaks a lot for yourself, you know?
When I come back home, we're gonna have a,
me and you, a long, long, deep conversation.
And I want an explanation.
I want you to explain everything,
where have you been and why you haven't
responded to my message.
Because it was really important for me
and you're letting me down
and I don't like being disappointed, you know, very much.
So, already had a couple messages from Ivan.
Don't worry, quite proud of myself, I've not replied.
And I can tell he's getting quite angry and pissed at me.
But of course, his messages are displaying affection
and looking like he's considerate.
But I know the real Ivan.
Stepping out the shower, trying to look all sexy
and masculine, flexing his muscle.
All I see is that's indicating
it's a punch about to happen.
That's toxic masculinity.
And also saying, just putting on my new clothes, Aiden.
Gonna go out with my friends.
Trying to make me feel replaceable, disposable,
shameful, vulnerable, and guilty
for leaving him on his own for a few hours.
Anyone there?
What the fuck was that?
Fucking hell!
What the fuck?!
Ah! Fuck.
You know, I've just been realising
that I know the fear and the feeling
of being in an abusive relationship.
I'm just trying to think.
It's just as scary being single again.
I mean, this is how much Ivan's got under my skin,
I guess, where does all that love go?
I mean, why am I weighing up
being in an abusive relationship with a narcissist
and being single, independent, free?
They shouldn't even be on the same spectrum.
Of course, independence out-rules
being in an abusive relationship.
Why am I even considering this?
I just think it's maybe a bit of cabin fever kicking in.
Just goes to show how much the abusers
get under your skin and how much,
it's like Stockholm syndrome,
you fall in love with your abuser.
I still love him
but I hate him.
Hm.
Beautiful.
Am I?
You know you are.
Hm.
You're so special to me, you know that?
Yeah.
I've never felt that way before.
You changed my life.
You're gonna behave now?
I will, I will. You know how much I love you.
See, when you like this, you're just brilliant.
Just not consistent, are you?
Kiss me now. Kiss me, yeah.
Yo, Aiden.
It's almost 6:00 a.m. and I checked the room,
the bedroom, you are not there.
It was madness, you know?
I didn't drink.
I'm not drunk, don't think I'm drunk.
Because I'm not, you know?
Good morning, Dr. Williams.
How do I feel?
If I'm honest with you, I'm feeling hungry.
That's the first thing I feel this morning.
I didn't get the best night's sleep.
If I'm honest, I'm feeling a little bit irritable.
But that's down to you.
I know that you're probably making me hungry
just to stir things up a little bit,
stir up my emotions and sort of rattle my cage
and make me feel a little bit, I don't know,
more unsettled than I already feel in life,
like you need that.
But yeah, I guess you know what you're doing.
You're the expert and that's why I'm sort of,
do you know, just as I'm making this video journal,
I've noticed that last night in my dream
that chair was kicked over.
That was a dream, wasn't it?
You see? That's what I mean.
I'm just like, getting all shaken up.
I don't know what's real and what's not anymore.
I mean, I don't know.
I don't even sort of have much clarity
over my own thoughts or anything.
See, this is why I need to speak to you
and make sense of all this.
But one thing that I am feeling as well is grateful.
Gratitude for a sense of freedom.
I mean, it is nice to wake up on your own
and not be accountable to anyone.
And actually, today I dictate my own day,
which is a really nice thing.
And look at the weather.
Gorgeous.
Ah, beauty.
Was that you making all that noise last night?
What noises?
Oh, I heard screaming
and I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards.
Do you know, that's really odd that you should say that.
It's, but no, it wasn't me.
Charlie, you heard it though, didn't you?
Yeah, I heard screaming last night.
It woke me up and you's have woke me up again.
I couldn't trouble you for a banana, could I?
Oh, you're a cheeky one, aren't you?
Wake me up in the night, you want my food.
Here you are, of course you can have a banana.
Oh, cheers.
How are you feeling?
Well, you know how I'm feeling
'cause I sent you all my video logs.
Yes, I've seen the video logs.
You seem a bit agitated.
Well, it's something to do with me being starving.
Starving?
Aiden we've gotta be honest with each other here.
Are you being honest with me?
I am.
Are you trying to deceive me or yourself?
I'm not deceiving any of us.
There's deception here.
You realise deception is something
that will attract deception.
So you're trying to tell me
that I'm the problem with Ivan?
I'd like you to be honest with me.
I'm not convinced that you're being honest.
Look, I may have had an apple
that fell off a tree.
There we go. Mhmm?
And a banana from one of the campers on the campsite.
Ah, so we have deception on two levels there.
You've eaten and we've communicated
with other people, interacted.
To be fair, you told me not to engage with anyone
in one of the cabins that's on the programme.
This was just somebody at a campsite.
I engaged with people that were camping,
separate from the programme.
And I didn't engage with them, they engaged with me.
No, I was very clear with you about this.
You didn't tell me you had a woodsman,
turned up, dropped a log, scared the living hell out of me.
And do you know what was really worrying about that?
What was quite alarming?
He warned me to be careful around here.
I mean, what the hell does he know that I don't know?
Is there something I should be worried about?
You're supposed to be isolated,
not in contact with anyone.
Okay, so the next time a stranger with an axe
leans over me, tells me to watch out for myself,
I'll just keep my calm.
You have nothing to be worried about.
Well, why the hell is your woodsman
leaning in my ear with an axe
telling me to be careful?
Doesn't exactly make me feel a sense of calm, does it?
He knows something that you're not telling me
and I wanna know what it is.
What is it I've got to worry about?
He's a part of the programme.
He's not supposed to contact people either.
I've noticed that you've been catastrophizing
about everything as well.
Well, you're not the first person to say that.
Ivan says it all the time.
So does my mum.
And to think about it, so do some of my friends.
See, first of all, I thought Ivan was planting the seeds
in the minds of others that I catastrophize,
I'm a bit of a drama queen.
And yeah, I am a little bit of a drama queen.
In my circle of friends, we all are.
But the campers, which really freaked me out,
they told me that last night
they heard screaming coming down from my field.
I had a couple nightmares
and I sent you a video message on this.
And actually in the nightmare,
I saw something that terrified the hell out of me
that was in the bush and I started running off screaming.
How can they hear those screams?
Not only that, is whatever terrified the hell out of me
kicked over one of the chairs
and when I left the cabin this morning,
that chair was kicked over.
I mean, what the hell's going on?
I feel like I'm losing my mind.
I don't know what's real and what's not anymore.
I mean, this programme is supposed to be helping me,
not confusing the hell out of me.
Is there anything that you can do to help me?
I just want a moment of calm back in my life.
I understand that and we're gonna help you.
You've got to trust the programme.
It'll all become clear, I want you to go much deeper,
I want you to be, at the moment, it's very superficial
but I want you to record what might be
the triggers of these emotions that you're having.
So you're saying you want me now
to record my thoughts, not my feelings?
- Yeah, yeah. Sure. - Because it's my thoughts
that stimulate my feelings.
Going ahead from here, yeah.
I think I get that.
And I'll give you a lift down to the cabin.
Mini, do you wanna come to the cabin with Aiden?
Yes, you do.
Yeah, the dogs have really taken to you.
Mini said she'd like to come to the cabin.
Yes, Aiden, alright, come on. Let's go.
Get your camera out, Aiden.
I want you to film this
as a recording of the start of your thoughts.
While we're going down there.
- Come on. - You want me
- to film the journey? - Yep.
Oh, I just know it's gonna be horrendous, I can tell.
You're gonna be safe, aren't you?
You're perfectly safe.
Should I film both of us? This will be nice.
You can do.
Smile!
And we're off!
Oh my God!
What the hell are you doing?
Slow the fuck down!
Slow the fuck down!
Tell me what you're thinking.
Slow the fuck down!
Slow down, we're going down a hill!
Come on, slow down, won't you?
Oh my God, no, don't do that.
Oh my God!
What're you doing?
Fucking hell. What the hell are you doing?
Good.
Bloody hell.
Come on!
- Lovely. - Okay, you wanna know
- what I'm thinking? - Yeah.
I'm thinking you're a better fucking doctor
than you are a fucking driver!
What the hell were you doing?
You've clicked my shoulder.
That's what, why are you laughing?
That's not even funny.
And you, you're not coming in the cabin.
Just, just get back to the house.
I mean it, I'm fucked off with this.
- Alright, yep. - It's like-
I'll see you tomorrow.
Is this part of the programme
or are you just having a laugh at my expense?
Actually, it's part of it.
Trust the plan.
Not again.
Fuck.
What the fuck is it?
Oh!
Oh God.
Hello?
Oh, what's happening?
Anyone here?
Hello?
Oh God, what's going on?
Oh God.
Who the fuck are you?
Thank God you're here.
What're you doing in my place?
Have you had any weird stuff happen to you yet
on this programme?
What programme?
The programme that Dr. Williams had put us on.
Dr. Williams? Who's Dr. Williams?
I've never heard of Dr. Williams.
Dr. Williams that lives in the house next door.
He's not a doctor.
What the fuck, I've had enough of this.
- Whoa. - Fuck off!
What are you doing?
I've had enough, piss off now.
Just calm down.
Enough! Get out.
- Get out now. - Okay.
Out! Out.
Hm, it's worse than I thought.
I need some answers and I need them right fucking now.
Aiden, you can't just barge in here.
Yeah? You know what?
You're not the first one to say that tonight,
your crazy neighbour said the same thing.
Crazy neighbour?
Yeah. The one that you said is on the programme.
He is on the programme.
You lied. And he also said you're not a doctor.
I am a doctor.
Why'd you think I've got this?
Well, I don't know.
That's why you've been trying to keep us apart, isn't it?
You said don't engage with him.
And do you know what else he did?
He pulled out a fucking gun right in my face.
Aiden, I'm not surprised.
Who are you gonna believe?
Someone that pulled out a gun
or a doctor that's trying to help you out?
This is his brain scan.
They depict a problem he's had with epilepsy
and he's got an entanglement of neurons
and extra neurons that he shouldn't have.
And this is where we've got the grid patterns
on these two particular shots
where we're going to put pins in
to hold the cage steady
so that we can get our precision techniques in place.
This person's problems are far worse.
His paranoia is so bad
and he's a very dangerous individual.
God!
That's why I told you not to engage with him.
I'm trying to protect you.
And I wanted you to be isolated from him.
I see what you mean about my paranoia.
I've been like that all day,
I've been thinking somebody's chasing me all day.
Earlier I felt somebody was chasing me out of the cabin
into the woods, right into your neighbor's fucking cabin.
Don't know what to believe anymore.
Hm.
Look, I want you to go back to the cabin.
I want you to focus on what those unhelpful thoughts are
and how we want to change them into helpful thoughts.
Yeah.
Are you gonna be alright with that?
I should've just stuck to the programme.
Trust the programme, Aiden.
Aiden, you know how much I love you,
I haven't heard from you for a long time.
I hope you're well.
I really wanna be with you,
I wanna feel you again, and I hope everything is fine.
Sending you my big, big, big love
and I hope to see you very soon.
Very, very soon. I love you so much and I miss you.
Bye-bye.
Hi, Dr. Williams.
So I've just been for my walk back to the cabin.
Fresh air did me wanders.
I've replaced my faulty thinking with helpful thinking.
You know what you said about if you deceive others,
they'll deceive you?
I know your game.
I know who you are and what you want.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's meeting, Doctor.
Hello. I hope you're well.
I don't know what's going on.
It's been way too long, it's been 48 hours
and I haven't heard anything and, and I'm,
I'm really, I'm really desperate, I don't know what to do.
Should I go to the police? Should I not, or?
I don't know what to do, I'm really confused.
Please, please, please respond to me.
Give me anything, call me, text me.
Just do something about it.
No!
No! Get off me.
Get off me!
Get off! What are you doing?
Ivan, get off!
Get off me, Ivan!
Please. Just come and sit down and listen to me.
Ivan.
Just sit down.
What are you doing here, Ivan?
Why you didn't call me back?
I needed some space.
You've read all my messages and you didn't respond,
you didn't even text.
What I was supposed to do?
I'm on a retreat, you're doing my head in.
I beg you, Aiden, listen to me, please.
Your family is worried. Your friends are worried.
What happened to you?
You shouldn't be speaking to my friends and my family.
Stop poisoning their minds.
They're my friends as well.
They're my friends and my family,
You just keep the hell away from them.
Listen, I love you.
I love you so much-
I need some space from you.
You took me to the brink and back with your narcissism.
But what I cannot take anymore, Ivan,
there's a dark, violent nature within you.
I don't want to be a victim of abuse.
I can't listen.
You need to listen, you need to look at me,
- you need to listen. - No.
I've been dealing with your narcissism,
no, I'm not gonna touch you.
- Come home. - Don't even put
those creepy hands over me.
- Come home with me, please. - That's not a home.
Home is not a place you go home and get beaten up.
No, it's our home!
No. I've had enough.
That's it. You need to just leave.
Come, come here, come and sit, please.
- I love you so much. - You do not, no-
- Please, please. - You do not treat
somebody like that you love.
You can't just beg for forgiveness.
Ivan, just leave me alone!
Aiden.
- No, no, no! - I can't do it!
Aiden, I want you to be with me
but I don't want anything bad to happen to you.
So please, please call me or text me.
It's been such a long time without you.
Aiden!
Aiden!
Aiden? Aiden!
Aiden!
Aiden!
Weird.
Ivan. It's been a while.
This message is quite difficult for me
to be able to communicate to you
as it's the last message you're ever gonna get from me.
In fact, it's the last contact
you're ever gonna have with me.
See, in this time of absence,
I've had time to reflect
and to go deep in on my thoughts and feelings.
And I've come to a realisation.
This world no longer serves me.
You see,
what you need to realise is
time is precious, time is fleeting.
And if you can do one thing for me,
I need you to look deep in at your own actions.
Go deep into your soul, Ivan,
because the way you treat people
has a great impact on others.
Far more than you'll ever realise.
So look for the joy, look for the fun,
the love, the kindness,
and radiate and transmit that to the universe.
It will serve you well.
Well, I guess that's it from me, from us.
Goodbye.
And take care.
So, Aiden.
I've had your message, what's going on?
I could ask you the same thing.
What do you mean?
I think I've been more than clear with my thoughts.
Where are you going with this?
You tell me.
I've been having some strange dreams down in the cabin.
Ivan punching the crap out of me
over the last couple of years.
And now it's playing out as if he's doing it in the cabin.
I feel his presence everywhere.
It's not just that though, is it?
I've been spied on.
Know anything about that, Dr. Williams?
You were there, you were watching through the windows.
I was not.
Yes you were and it's downright creepy.
This is your paranoia again.
It's getting the better of you, you're catastrophizing.
I'm not catastrophizing.
Breaking twigs, rattling the grass,
it's just downright creepy.
You talked about deception breeds deception.
Be honest with me. You were outside the cabin.
No.
I wanna know why you were watching me through the window.
You've entered a state of hyperarousal.
Your PTSD has put you on high alert.
You're ultra sensitive to threat and danger.
You're so conditioned by Ivan's abuse.
Well, of course I'm conditioned to Ivan's abuse.
You don't just shake off PTSD.
Take ownership, Dr. Williams.
Look, if you're not prepared to be honest and open,
I don't wanna talk anymore.
Okay, so I took you out your comfort zone,
I increased the paranoia so that I could see you
in your worst case scenario.
Finally, some honesty.
And since you've been so open and honest with me,
I guess I owe you some honesty back.
Yes, I've been leaning into my real life trauma,
my PTSD, my state of hyperarousal.
And do you know what? It was traumatic.
As if like living it in the past wasn't bad enough.
Bringing it here, having to replay it all in my head
and feel it all again is horrific.
But I did that for you.
I did it 'cause I know you wanted
not only my thoughts and my feelings,
you wanted the raw emotion.
You needed the raw data.
I brought that to the programme.
That was real.
But one thing you didn't realise,
I've been one step ahead of you the whole time, Doctor.
I've been one step ahead of the programme.
I need something in exchange,
I need something from you.
What do you need from me?
How can you know this?
You see, I'm somewhat of a honey trap.
I used Ivan, the guy that caused me pain and suffering,
to get me up close and personal with you.
As I said, this is about you.
I'm here to learn about you.
I know everything about the human race, human nature.
Human doings, human feelings, human beings.
Wow, I'm, I'm.
I don't know how you came to that,
I dunno how you came to this.
Tracked me here, us, where I come from,
my species doesn't have emotion.
We don't feel, we don't understand it.
And it's such a rich gift here
for human life on planet Earth.
If I could take that back with me
and all that knowledge,
it would save the essence of Earth.
We're in our infancy as far as emotions go.
We realise you're not just human beings,
but human feelings.
You see, we don't feel, we purely exist.
We don't feel alive.
We're jealous and envious
of the quality human beings possess.
Jealousy is an emotion.
You're already doing it without realising.
I'm absorbed by the atmosphere here,
I begin to feel the emotion.
I can feel emotion
because I've been here for a while studying.
Where you've been jealous
of our emotional spectrum,
I've been looking at you with great envy too.
Your ability with travel.
It didn't go unnoticed,
you following me through the woods.
Into the cabin.
I was just testing your ability
to see how you viewed me from afar.
On this plane, they call it astral projection.
Teleportation.
We need to advance our travel abilities.
We've got so much to learn from each other.
Our teleportation comes from our genetics.
Earth as we know it will not exist for much longer.
We are running out of time.
And for me to teach you,
you have to take me with you.
Don't think that the way that we travel
is compatible with humans.
We've enriched and adapted our ability to learn.
We programmed a new system
called AI, artificial intelligence.
This is where we pool together the data
from the greatest minds,
the greatest scientists, philosophers, humanists.
I've got it all.
I'm hybrid, human and AI.
Emotions, I mean, right now,
I feel like I'm just numb to my emotions.
I've had to protect my emotions
and build a wall so high to protect myself.
Some of my friends just say
I'm like emotionally void, emotionally dead.
It's like I've got no human aspect anymore.
It's just sucked out of me.
I don't feel, I don't feel emotional,
I don't feel myself, I don't feel like I'm Aiden anymore.
But your arrival was somewhat obvious.
So, did the humans get it right?
Is that how you would normally appear?
If that's how it's comfortable
for other subjects to receive me,
that's how I'll manifest to them.
AI set the algorithm
to engage with alien intelligence.
Earth will not sustain the human race much longer.
Earth will not be in existence in many years to come.
Humans are destroying the planet.
So your time is running out.
If you want to learn about emotions,
there's a ticking clock.
As you know from Voyager One and Two,
we already have data existing out there in the universe
and data and AI travels.
So when you onboard me,
I shall store the human in default setting.
And should the human aspect not survive,
the AI and all the knowledge from all the humans
and the greatest minds exist in the chip.
That's all the knowledge you need.
We've decoded all of the thoughts and feelings for you.
Are you ready to onboard me
and take me to meet your community?
It'll be an honour, Aiden.
LHS 1140 B is an exoplanet
located about 40 light years away
in the constellation of Cetus.
Well, in the same way as your DNA folds
and turns into itself,
we can use a part of the DNA
to step forward several cycles
in the same way as you fold two dots together
on a piece of paper and fold it
and say that's a wormhole.
I have that ability in my DNA,
I can skip and that's how I get around.
It is a form of astral planing.
Here are some interesting facts about LHS 1140 B.
One, type.
LHS 1140 B is classified as a super-Earth
which means it has a mass greater than Earth's,
but significantly less than that of Uranus or Neptune.
Two, discovery, it was discovered in 2017
using data from the M Project
which focuses on finding existing exoplanets
around nearby red dwarf stars.
Three, host star, LHS 1140 B orbits a red dwarf star.
LHS 1140 B, which is smaller and cooler than our sun.
The star's lower brightness
allows for easier detection of transits by our planet.
The star's lower brightness allows for easier detection
of transits by the planet.
Four, the planet has an orbital period of about 24 hours
indicating it completes one orbit
around its host star in just one Earth's day.
Five, temperature, LHS 1140 B is located
in the habitable zone of its star
where conditions might be right
for liquid water to exist on its surface
although the exact atmospheric conditions
are still a topic of research.
Six, size and mass.
LHS 1140 B is approximately 1.4 times the radius of Earth
and about 6.5 times its mass
suggesting it has a rocky composition.
Seven, potential for life.
Its location in the habitable zone
and Earth-like characteristics make LHS 1140 B
a candidate for future studies
regarding its potential to support life.
Well, there is life.
