We gave Batchilly the seeds

he nursed the seeds,

Agriculture bought it from him,

then they distributed it

among farmers

they also want to see if

the farmers are on it

or not

and the challenges they are facing

in the farms.

When they are done

we are going to discuss about it

the challenges we face in the farms

we will show them

and the process of growing this rice

and how this rice has benefitted us

and how we can get more from them

and how it will benefit us

we will make it clear to them

because its a good variety.

I am Karamo Sanneh

we are on the final stage of our

tracing today

today as you can see

we are winnowing some of the rice

to reduce the chaff

first of all

I will thank Sahel Agric Business

at Wellingara Kejaw

the company manager Mr.

Bubacarr Batchilly

for his support

with his stakeholders

who made this rice to be here in the area

we thank them too, that is KOPIA.

My name is Bubacarr Batchilly

I started forming here

in North Bank

kurunko

and I will travel all these places to look at the

challenges farmers have

and to see how we can help them through the use of camera

media

so we can get your voices out there

On Behalf of North Bank Farmers Association

its an organisation

that initiated this work in this community

whatever we want to do

and we are able to

its because of North Bank Farmers Association

what I want to say to Batchilly

the supply Batchilly give to the government

the supply he gives to other groups

I want him to know that

North Bank Farmers Association

he is part of that group

from Barra

to Palloto

it all revolves around North Bank Farmers Association

in terms of farming

we have no other skills order than farming

we want all farmers

to join hands

and work together

whatever we lack

whoever can support us

you can do so

our group is working tirelessly

the help Batchilly renders to the Ministry and individual farmers

we want to show Batchilly that

he has to empower us to

if he wants us to work together

and progress in the work we do

if he accepts to join hands with North Bank Farmers Association

whatever he wants here

in terms of farming

he will get it here

What can you tell us about of the Isriz 7 in terms of Duration, in terms of Yield?

what can you tell us

Since we got this type of rice

we are happy about it

because it has short duration

when fighting hunger, you have to plant rice that has a short duration.

Presently

the total number of bag we have

in the field here is three quater plot

so this three quater plot

made a seed bed for

fifteen kilogram

of this Isriz 7 rice

but after making that seed bed

when the seedlings are mature I transplant them in the field

it becomes

challenging for me to transplant them

due to some of the

effort I made here

to overcome those challenges in order

plough the place and then transplant.

As you can see you scattered the rice

what we want to do next year

we do it in a line form

you will notice that if it's in a line form

it makes the seeds bigger than this.

you know these are young seedlings

as you can see, it was planting one by one in that situation

the plants could die

before it matures it may die

but if you make it three

if one dies two will remain

if two dies one will remain

thats why they make it three

and if you make it three it yields more

it yields a lot

for it to be many.

We looked for a rice harvester

and we paid for it

because if we want people to harvest this rice

we will not be able

we then got a rice harvester

they harvested the rice

but we harvested these ones with a knife.

If we had that communication with him

if Batchilly wants that between us

we are not going to take seeds from anyone

when it time for the seeds

the way they use to say it

communication will be between us and Batchilly

whatever we need we will ask him

Batchilly should also accept to be part of us

to work together

the intension we have

he also has the same

anything regarding work

its for him to know thats why we established this group

and secondly

what we want

we work without getting any benefit

we dont have tools

you can see that all the rice is scattred

we want winnow it

we dont have the machine.

Today I am very happy

and this rice

what I have from this three quater plot

is forty bags

so the forty bags

is very important

and we are selling part of this rice

to Sahel Agric Business

to complement

and support the school feeding program

they are working with World Food Program (WFP)

and we are also selling rice to them

and they will mill it and then sell it to schools

to promote the school feeding

program

and this rice is a

very good one, it's a fresh rice

from the field right now

and it taste good

and the yield is very high

compared to the other varieties

on that note

I thank

the Sahel Agric Business Company Manager

Mr. Bubacarr Batchilly

for his support

and his stakeholders too

who made this seed to be here

today for us

so we thank KOPIA

for their

good variety

distribution

thank you so much

KOPIA is very proud and very happy, thank you

Next Season KOPIA will help you with Isriz 7 seeds and teach you how to grow it with other varieties.

If you embrace KOPIA

KOPIA will embrace you
