The first one leans more towards trust

and trusting in yourself and in others.

The first one is Proverbs 3:5 to 6.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not lean towards
your own understanding.

In all your acknowledgements,
trust in Him.

The next quote, which I
wanted to pass on to you,

which I feel like you should
definitely acknowledge,

is one from our beloved Richard
and his dog, Richard II.

He was a magnificent person.

He was a pillar of our community.

He was a member of our congregation.

Also, he was a wonderful
soul and being, we lost him.

This quote reminded me of him.

It's from Mark 10, verse 52.

Go, said Jesus, your faith has healed you.

Immediately he received his sight

and followed Jesus along the road.

So I'm gonna say, I'm gonna

rather than God's benefit.

Why did you shut
Christ out of your life?

Well, I didn't shut Him out.

I believe that He shut me out of His life.

Does that make sense?

Why did you give your life to Christ?

It's not that I decided
to give my life to Christ.

It's more that I decided to
share my life with Christ.

It was when my wife died, actually.

I'd always believed,
but just in losing her,

I found in God more than any other thing

is what really kept me going.

And I realized the comfort
that I received from Him

I was able to give to other people.

And I couldn't think
of a more honorable way

to live my life than that.

Oh, that sounds like

a really honorable way to join the church.

Well, yeah, I had some
real positive responses to it

and, you know, met so many lovely people,

people have given me strength,
given me encouragement,

and me to them as well.

So did that help you to
move on with your grief

to get over things?

All of it did.

He shall wipe away every
tear from their eye

and death shall be no more.

Neither shall there be
mourning, crying, pain anymore

for the former things have passed away.

Revelations?

[Michael] You still read your Bible?

No, but I still remember
bits and pieces of it.

I remember how much
comfort it used to give me.

Yeah, I remember after losing Susanna,

I didn't know where to turn.

Probably about a month or
so after I finally heeded

to one of the most repeated
messages in the Bible.

[Destiny] What was that?

Fear not, in other
words, don't be afraid.

Eight years, it's a long time to be alone,

but with Christ there it
just doesn't seem that long.

And He did say to me that He's a friend

that sticks closer than a brother.

So do you have any children?

[Michael] No, I don't.

I don't have any siblings.

And both of my parents have passed.

I'm sorry.

[Michael] You know, I've
never really felt alone.

They're all still with
us really, aren't they?

Yeah, I guess I just, I forgot that.

I closed my ears to it when
I was looking after Jamal

in his final weeks.

I can't imagine the stress

that you were under during that time.

It makes sense why you
were so worn out by it.

But I don't feel so worn out now.

Not like I was three years ago.

And I'm realizing there
was such a lot of people

who were so loving and
supportive to me throughout,

and you've helped me.

And it's just that I thought

Jesus wasn't loving and supporting to me.

Destiny, Jesus' spirit
works through all of us,

but just through other people.

I mean, I like to call
Him the Great Includer.

I mean, you can see Him at
work throughout the whole world

with every hand that's reached out,

every comforting shoulder
and every welcoming neighbor.

Anyway, talking about
welcoming neighbor, shall we eat?
