for each of your characters to say the least this season.

How has the friendship dynamic changed this season?

Okay, first of all,

I think the evolution of our friendship

has been very interesting to watch.

Because you would see bonds with two specific people,

and then two other people.

And now, in this season, you see the crosses...

-It's explores the difference. -And the one degree...

-Exactly. -Yeah.

And the building of bonds with one another.

And then Andi's character, in particular,

is being challenged because

there's a new person into her life...

Professionally, that's going into her personal.

And it's affecting her best,

well, one of her best friends'...

-[Ebony] Yes. -Personal life, as well,

which has posed a huge challenge for Andi.

That's what I was gonna say. So, Andi...

Who, who is Andi, like, secretly rooting for then?

I'm, okay, okay, yes.

Because I think Andi, she actually...

She knows Fatima's gonna be all right.

And she doesn't know if Karen is gonna be all right.

Karen is pregnant,

Karen has been, you know, watching the person she loves

fall in love with another person...

She's goin' through all these changes,

and Fatima, who is strong...

And... And, and she is not,

Fatima's not necessarily sharing what she's going through

with her partner with Andi,

so she doesn't know she's going through these things, as well.

So, on the surface, Andi is rooting for, for Karen,

because she feels like Karen...

That friendship has been so long,

she doesn't know... It's codependent.

So, she doesn't know if Karen will make it without her.

Fatima constantly says...

And, and this is only 'cause

Andi only sees this version of Fatima,

she doesn't see the real vulnerable version like that.

Where Fatima's like, "I'mma be all right."

I got my, you know, I'm good, I'm good, I'm good, I'm good.

But really...

If Andi really knew what Fatima was goin' through,

she would be rooting for both of them

and just building that friendship with both of 'em.

But on the show, Andi is like, "She needs me!

You don't really need me.

You... We are just great friends.

But you don't need me."

Yeah, I feel, I feel like this season is about

a lotta crisis situations,

and crisis shows character,

and then it shows how the person gonna show up in your life.

So, especially for Sabrina.

You know, she's in a situation you know she should not be in

And what's going to happen with that?

How are the women going to help her?

[KJ] Respond, yeah.

And respond to the crisis that she's in.

Because a lot of the times, we're all in crisis

in our own separate ways, but...

This is like, "Nah, you're 'bout to go to jail"

type crisis.

This is completely different

than a man, and all that other stuff.

This is like life...

So that, I think, is gonna be extremely interesting to watch

throughout the season.

And how long it takes your friends to notice

Because I think that that's somethin'

that we don't really talk about.

It's like, of course if your friend

tells you that there's something's wrong,

you know you can...

We like to say, "Oh, but I didn't know.

I didn't, you didn't tell me. You didn't share it."

But it's like, how long does it take you to check on me?

And know when I'm lying.

You know, asking for, telling me you don't need it."

It's, "What, do you know what you need?

Do you even know what you need to be okay?"

And most of us don't. Not all the time, anyways.

So, with that bein' said, do you think Pam can actually

join the Sistas circle?

masculinity and femininity.

How does it show up, especially in the black community?

but then not expect him to tap into his feminine energy.

And femininity is just being receptive.

And just the man that he is or seems to be now.

That couldn't have been possible with her.

And so I think it's almost this thing of,

sometimes women, when, when we see

someone change so dramatically...

And people can change dramatically

in a short period of time.

But when we see it, it's like...

"It was possible all along."

And now it's this thing of like,

I don't think it matters whether or not he's single

or, or in a relationship.

There is absolutely jealousy involved,

I don't think there's a way that it couldn't be.

She's self-centered, and she's selfish.

And she has attracted a partner that is just like that.

So her and Gary have this toxic mirrored relationship

where they're narcissists, just alike.

Except she's the victim in her narcissism,

and he's the hero in his narcissism.

And so, I think once Andi starts to dig deeper,

and we're, we start...

We're watching her now.

She's growing, and I have full faith and confidence

that she's gonna grow out of this relationship with him.

Because she's already starting to do the work.

He's not doin' any of the work.

He had "a fake therapist".

One thing I, I do watch on Twitter a lot,

is people have this disdain for Karen.

And I think it's because

it's where the, the story picked up, right?

For example, we got a chance to see Zac and Karen go through

this volatile relationship, and then him meet someone new.

And everyone fell in love with the newness and the freshness.

But what I honestly believe is if,

if you saw what Karen and Zac had developed

before all of that,

people would be in love with that.

And I think that people just want a love story.

it's to put one woman down over the other,

and say Karen is bad and Fatima is good.

I think it's the opportunity to get a chance

to see the love story happen.

Because one of my favorite scenes ever in the movie

there's a scene where Wesley Snipes

and Angela Bassett's characters are just layin' in bed.

-Yes. -And it's such an intimate...

-[Devale] Yes. -Powerful scene

-with their clothes on. -[Devale] Yes.

And when your character was layin' up against Karen

in the kitchen, with the yellow on,

-and just holdin' her... -Yes.

and I was like, "Oh my gosh."

-[Devale] Yeah. -Like, it brought me that same,

"This is the love you have to fight for."

Like, this is the beauty of it,

and you never know where we'll pick up,

-where we'll leave off... -Right.

So, I agree with your statement about, you know,

-the charac... -[Devale] Absolutely.

Y'all are so good at

-what y'all do... -But, but, but!

Rootin' people, and fightin' people,

and stuff like that.

To be clear, go off.

That's also a credit to the work...

It's, it's especially near and dear to me.

My mother passed last year,

and on the hundredth episode will be her birthday.

For when we first got together.

I've had shows that haven't gone,

and so I came in kinda like,

"We gon' do our work.

And we gon' put our best foot forward, but...

Let's not make any big purchases right now."

You know what I'm sayin'? Let's wait until season three.

But I will say...

The energy of the cast?

Allowed me to get to where D already was.

In sayin', "This is a hit."

It's youthful energy,

'cause we're his youngest cast at something new.

It's different from any other show that he has.

And I was, it's, it's almost like it was infectious.

I'm like, "We got a hit?

She says we got a hit, she says we got a hit,

oh, we got a hit."

-And so, yeah. -Beautiful.

No, I knew we had something special,

but I think when you...

For all of us, we had such an incredible journey

to get to this point.

And when you book a TV show, you're just hoping...

You're excited to work.

You're excited for the opportunity.

You're, you're getting the chance to actually

live out your dream.

And, you know, when you get that opportunity

and you come, and then you just hope,

"Okay, I hope I get along with everyone."

And I hope that people like the show,

and then I hope that it goes.

You're just hopin' and hopin' and hopin',

and then you're actually gettin' a chance to...

Come to the hundredth episode, and you're just like...

"Oh my God. Like, we're really here."

And the audience reaction, and the love we get, you know...

Good or bad...

'Cause they be...

They be tryin' to hurt feelings.

But I'm a strong man!

And I'll be all right!

I'm doin' aight. But it's, it's beautiful.

And I think, more importantly,

people fall in love with the characters,

but they're also falling in love with us as people.

[Heather] What does it mean to you?

It literally means everything for me.

For me, I made a conscientious effort

to focus on the journey rather than the destination.

Because when you think about where you're gonna end up,

you kinda miss out on the path towards getting there.

-Mm-hm. -And for me...

When I do that, and I take a step back

and I look at, "Okay...

How hard is it to actually get onto a show?"

Then, "How hard is it for that show to be number one?"

[all murmuring]

How hard is it for that show to stay number one?

Mm-hm.

What is the likelihood that...

When you work with these people...

They're not castmates or cast members,

they become family.

Because I love each and every person in here.

From the bottom of my heart.

They know there's nothing I wouldn't do

for each and every one of them.

And what I realized is that

we turn the impossible into somehow.

-Mm-hm, mm-hm. -[KJ] Yes.

And that, for me, is everything.

-[All] Yeah. -[Heather] God bless you.

Especially with us, like,

I think about the idea of it being the hundredth episode,

and really just think about the journey and

the adventure this has been...

And the blessing, because we genuinely, like,

love each other.

We genuinely get along.

We, we have... Everyone's funny.

And everyone loves to have in depth conversations,

and we think about the world, and we...

We share our personal lives with each other,

and, and offer perspective to each other.

And every time we come together, it's like we click up.

And if there's any kind of, like, slight conflict,

it gets addressed and we move together.

And so, I think about the idea of the hundredth episode,

so to me, one of the key words in my life

has been the nature of sustainability.

Right? Sustainability.

For somethin' to sustain means that it's impactful,

and that it's... That there's something there,

a resonance there that lasts.

[Heather] 100th episode.

What does it mean to you?

-Personally? -You know?

I am so grateful for even one episode.

You know, I hate to sound...

Pessimistic, but for me when I started this,

I'm like...

"I just wanna get to the point

where I can film the stuff that I'm supposed to,

so I can get my money."

That's what I was thinkin'!

And so to think about 100 episodes...

Because I didn't have any money!

And we talk about bein' hungry, for real.

And I was hungry, literally.

I was tryin' to figure out how to get gas

to get to those four days of rehearsals.

[All] Mm!

[Brian] And to be here with people that I love,

and we don't just say that.

Like, we love each other.

And when we don't, we get back to love.

-Right? -[All] Right.

That's the thing, we, we've had an opportunity

provided by Mr. Perry, which, thank God...

do you think there's hope?

People can't really be in relationships

when they are not...

When they are not actively healing or healed, or...

Or, you know, we say over the past relationship, or...

People take their own time, and I don't...

I don't know.

I know some people get into relationships, you know,

the right relationships quickly after maybe a breakup,

and they can evolve, and that ends up working.

But I do think that there is a lot of tension

between the characters.

Because I don't know many people who have...

You know, I'll say Aaron,

just because of the type of person that he is.

Who is stepping up, trying to step up

at every single obstacle that comes up.

Which I know I've had my moments where

I'm readin' the script, like...

I don't know a man who would step up for this.

I don't know a man... But they exist, they do.

Jasmin is her name, who plays Deja in real life?

in real life.

But that Deja, I wanna get.

which one would it be?

[Heather] You make a good airport girl, though.

Like a hundred percent, it should be in a glass case.

Like with Dorothy's slippers...

I wanted to say that we started strong, though.

Because there happened to be a certain someone

who was styling us.

And who changed my life with...

No, Crystal was our designer...

For season one. And we were all obviously young,

and like, we didn't, we didn't have any money...

and I was like, Louis Vuittons,

and like, all these things that she put us in

that I had never experienced before,

-had never, and then... -[Heather] Wow.

"Well, we gotta get a tailor!"

And now our designer was our tailor.

-At the time. -That's right.

And he...

You know, he and Crystal made sure we looked...

-[Ebony] Snatched. -Incredible.

[All] Yes.

And changed our personal lives, as well.

Because we had not been exposed to...

-[Heather] All of it. -This type of hair...

And style, and detail,

and storytelling with your clothes.

And knowing more about our bodies.

And knowing what works for our body types.

And that's what I'm talkin' about.

It's so meaningful to me as a woman, who's like...

You know, 12, 14, 16...

-Has range in between those. -[Heather] Oh, I understand.

And for Crystal would be like, "Oh, no, no, no."

-[Ebony] I can dress you. -[Novi] I got you.

[Heather] So, guess what?

All the sistas are fashion icons.

There we go. I got it!
