He was defeated,

but he rises and targets Arthur once again.

After parting ways with the Seven Deadly Sins,

Merlin has to face Cath all by herself to protect Arthur.

As for why Merlin never said anything about Chaos,

and why she waited until this very day to tell us…

the answer is simple.
