where they valiantly fought the Demon King.

She then uses the plentiful magic from the lake

to awaken Arthur as the King of Chaos.

Her mysterious past and her objective are finally revealed.

Her affection for Meliodas.

Her 3,000-year-old wish to revive Chaos in order to fulfill her starving heart.

And now…

[Priestess of Chaos] There were several requirements in order to revive Chaos.

Defeating the Demon King was one of them.

Merlin used the Seven Deadly Sins as a means to accomplish that.

But I'd say that makes you all even, now.

You've definitely used her plenty as well.

Are you kidding me?

What do you know? How dare you judge us like that!

Sure, there might be a lot of things I don't understand about all this yet,

but still, Merlin fought with the Seven Deadly Sins

as a comrade alongside us.

We didn't "use" anybody!

[Priestess of Chaos] Indeed.

It's true that I haven't lived with her or even spoken to her that much,

and I know you all far less.

But what I do know is that Merlin asked the Giant craftsman, Dabuzu,

to forge the Coffin of Eternal Darkness

in order to seal away the Demon Lord and the Supreme Deity.

[all gasping]

[Diane] Huh?

[Priestess of Chaos] Also,

she intentionally delayed the spell to stop time

in order to resurrect the Demon King.

And in the final battle, she guided your combo move into the lake.

Lastly, it was she who reactivated the curse on Elizabeth

that Meliodas had broken.

[Meliodas gasping]

An era before the human and non-human worlds were forever divided.

The battle between light and darkness had finally come to an end,

EPISODE 22 A TASTE OF CHAOS

You… you stop talking all of that nonsense!

Merlin, please! Don't just stand there, say something!

[suspenseful music playing]

[Merlin] To revive Chaos,

it wasn't enough to seal away the Supreme Deity and the Demon King.

One or the other had to be completely destroyed

in order to disrupt the balance.

You knew, didn't you?

You knew all along the Captain's body would be taken over.

Yet you still let the Demon King revive like that?

And yet there was one more condition.

To obtain the key to reawaken Arthur,

I needed an explosive amount of magic.

Then everything that the Priestess of Chaos is telling us is…

[Meliodas] Merlin. I want the truth.

Look me in the eye and answer me.

Tell me whether or not you tried to kill Elizabeth.

Meliodas, it was clear to me that your sole objective

was to break the curse on Sissy.

So once you'd completed that task,

you might have abandoned the mission to defeat the Demon King.

And I couldn't have that.

when you made me assemble the Seven Deadly Sins,

was that also all to carry out your objective?

I learned many things from her.

And that's when I made the promise

that I would become a wonderful king

and create an incredible world the likes of which nobody has ever seen!

[Arthur grunting]

because his appearance and magic are so different from before.

That creature is the physical incarnation

of desire and obsession with the power of Chaos.

and committed so much evil in the land where he was exiled

that he was sealed away by the Goddesses.

When I said Merlin was probably smiling, I wasn't being critical.

that sets up the birth of a whole new menace.

about Chaos in all the time we've known her.

Why'd she keep it a secret for so long and only now tell us about it?

If the Seven Deadly Sins have defeated the Demon King once and for all,

that would mean Camelot has finally been freed from the Demons, wouldn't it?
