on going back.

I honestly thought I'd never be able
to get out of Purgatory at all.

Or see Elizabeth, you,
or anyone else again, either.

This is a real shock.

But why are you in Purgatory, anyway?

Did Mr. Ban the Undead
finally get taken out?

I obviously came here to find you
and bring you back home.

These warriors

EPISODE TWO
A MEETING WITH THE UNKNOWN

[lively music playing]

There are two different types of creatures
that exist in Purgatory.

Foreign creatures are the kind
that originate from souls that fell here

and end up becoming savages.

So like the monsters
you and I turned into.

[Meliodas] Exactly.

And since they lose themselves
in the process,

they turn to dust after they die.

[both grunting]

[creature sniffing, grunting]

[Meliodas] The second type
are indigenous creatures.

They were born here and have substance.

Their bodies have evolved
to live and thrive

in Purgatory's harsh environment.

They are the ones
we should set our sights on.

We can make clothes out of the materials
we harvest from them.

[demon growling]

[Ban] That thing sure can move fast.

This is gonna be fun!

[creature panting]

[Ban grunting]

[creature warbling]

[Ban grunting]

Here I go. Fox Hunt-- [grunting]

Captain, it's heading towards you now.

[creature panting, grunting]

[Meliodas] This one seems
to understand the situation.

Must be its natural instinct.

-[creature grunting]
-[Meliodas groaning]

[creature warbling]

-[Meliodas chuckling]

Yeah. I knew that would happen.

Where did your usual
animalistic strength go?

Well,
I'm just Meliodas' emotions after all.

So, I'm kinda like a soul.

but my emotions
get in the way of that happening.

That's why he wants to erase them.

[Ban] Well, I get it now.

[both panting]

I can't believe
you've survived in Purgatory

with a physical body all this time.

There were lots of times
I thought about giving up,

but I just kept going.

And now I've gotten so used to being here
that I can even get some sleep.

[groaning]

[breathing heavily]

[stones banging]

[Meliodas] Hey, Ban.

Yeah? What's up?

[Meliodas] You're pretty amazing.
You know?

Uh, what's with the sudden compliment?

Thanks for everything.

[chuckling]

Well, to catch you up,

I heard from Merlin that you'd been
taken away by the Demon King.

So, I assumed
you had to be trapped somewhere

and this made sense.

At first, I was confined by Father
and he kept watch over me.

I spent a lot of time
looking for the exit.

I was determined
to return to my real form,

but I was never able to find it.

So I gave up and fell into despair.

Father was relieved
to see me become a monster

and threw me out.

[Meliodas growling]

[roaring]

So he was confident you couldn't escape.

That's why he let you roam.

He didn't think
there was any sort of possibility

you might run into the exit
by chance just by wandering around.

[Meliodas] That makes sense.

And it would explain
why he threw me out without even thinking.

If that's the case, then the exit
has to be in my Father's vicinity.

You think that's possible?

[Ban chuckling]

At the very least, it's definitely worth
checking out, don't you think?

[lively music playing]

[Meliodas chuckling]

Sounds like we have a plan.

when we get back to the living world?

triggered a dramatic change
in both your body and spirit.

And we'll reopen the Boar Hat together
with the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins!

from small accidents

to use a creature from Purgatory.

with an unknown attack.

he was completely untouched
by any of the attacks we executed

before he activated the Dark Nebula,

making our magical attacks ineffective.

Although, that is most likely
the power of his other ability.

to his attacks, while ours are limited.

This battle is going to be
even more painstaking than we imagined.
