Hey, guys, what's up, Joe Paris here and welcome to our very first quick win action exercise if you

haven't already.

Make sure to download the Instagram app from the Google Play store or from the App Store.

You're going to need to have the app installed in order to participate throughout the rest of this course.

The easiest way to do this is to actually just use your smartphone.

I will be using my phone throughout this entire course, but also showing you other ways that you can

use the Instagram app.

Now, once you have downloaded the Instagram app, make sure to enter your email address or phone number

and open your account.

A pro tip is to select a username that is easy for people to find in search for demonstration purposes.

I opened up a new account and made it J.W. Perez.

But my other two Instagram accounts, which I'm going to be showing you throughout the rest of this

course, are Joe Dot Paris and Joe Paris Academy.

As you can see, my name is easily recognizable in these user names, which makes it really easy for

people to find me and to search when using Instagram.

Now, once your account is open, you will be brought to a starting screen that asks you to follow new

accounts.

I recommend following about fifty to one hundred people from this list.

The reason is it's just going to get you started and it's going to show Instagram that you're willing

to give people followers first.

This will trigger Instagram to start sending you some traffic and also some people may even begin following

you.

In fact, as you see in this demonstration video, we gained our first three to five followers using

this strategy.

Now, the next thing that you want to do is set up your profile.

We're going to be going into a whole deep dive into this in a future video.

But for right now, let's just get down the basics.

The first thing I would recommend doing is setting up a professional account.

This will allow you to see analytics and insights into your account, which is going to be very important

when it comes to growing.

Once you select a professional account, you will need to select a category for a demonstration purposes.

I chose educational, but you can choose one that is going to fit your profile now.

Protip I'd highly recommend that you knit yourself when creating your Instagram account from scratch.

We'll discuss this more to future video.

But for right now, just pick a main category that you think your account will be about.

You can then enter your email and phone number if you want to have people contact you.

This isn't necessary, but it's an option.

And it's especially good if you're a business.

You then can also connect your Facebook page so that when you post on Instagram, it will automatically

go to your Facebook as well.

Now, once you have that all set up, Instagram will recommend three actions that will help you get

your account moving and attract your first one hundred followers.

The first step is going to be completing your profile.

This is where you're going to add in your bio and your website if you have one, if you do not feel

free to link your other social media accounts here like YouTube or Facebook.

Next, it's time to select a profile picture.

I'd recommend a more professional headshot, but it's totally up to you.

We'll discuss more about how to actually craft an amazing profile photo.

But for right now, just pick something and keep moving.

Now it's time to invite your family and friends and get your first one hundred followers.

If you click the plus button, what's really cool is that you can send an SMS text to all of your friends

and family, alerting them that you've created a new Instagram account.

You can also invite your family and friends using Facebook or any other social media is that you have

the goal to let them know that you've come to Instagram or that you've actually opened up a new account

after you've done this, Instagram will then recommend creating your first three posts.

Now, for your first post, I recommend posting a professional photo of yourself and introducing yourself

in the post.

I would also recommend doing your first post as soon as possible.

Now, as an added protip, you can also post an Instagram story about your new account.

This way if anyone clicks on your story, they will actually see it's you and start following you.

We will discuss more about creating high quality engaging posts very soon.

So don't worry, the whole goal here is just to get a picture up and to create your very first post.

Now, once this is all set up, you'll start to notice that you should start getting more and more followers

onto your account.

And the whole goal is to get your first one hundred followers.

Now, as another bonus pro tip is to send your friend's messages, DMS and tell as many people about

your account as possible.

If you do this correctly, new people and suggested people will start coming to your account and you

will have your first one hundred followers in no time.
