suddenly appearing out of thin air.

These mysterious lights

appear to be intelligently directed.

NARRATOR: Supernatural apparitions

manifesting from the shadows.

MIKE RICKSECKER: These figures

materialized through his wall,

and they smelled like sulfur.

NARRATOR: And bizarre rituals

designed to access other realms.

In these ceremonies,

the curtains between realities vanish.

NARRATOR: Could there be another plane of existence

just beyond our comprehension?

One in which parallel worlds exist

completely undetected

alongside our own?

MICHIO KAKU: We take for granted

that we live in a three-dimensional universe.

In fact, the quantum theory

makes higher dimensions a distinct possibility.

NARRATOR: There is a doorway

in the universe.

Beyond it is the promise of truth.

It demands we question everything

we have ever been taught.

The evidence is all around us.

The future is right before our eyes.

We are not alone.

We have never been alone.

As darkness descends on the Brown Mountains,

strange glowing orbs materialize on the horizon.

They hover over the range for a few seconds at a time

and then mysteriously vanish.

JONATHAN YOUNG: The Brown Mountain lights

have been observed for centuries.

There are Indian accounts as early as the 13th century.

Back in the antebellum days,

some plantation owner was hunting there, disappeared.

Some of the people from his plantation--

slaves, we would presume-- went looking for him,

they disappeared, never explained.

But that night these lights were seen.

For decades, these lights have been talked about, studied,

and no one is sure exactly what causes these lights.

There are many theories about them,

but nobody really knows for sure.

There's the very curious story

of a person named Ralph Lael,

who claimed that he was following

the Brown Mountain light one night...

...and that it led him

into a secret cave full of crystals,

and a booming voice then told him

about extraterrestrials...

...and that they have the technology

to go from one dimension to another,

to appear and disappear.

NARRATOR: Extraterrestrials

appearing and disappearing?

Moving between dimensions?

While it may sound like a fanciful story,

the Brown Mountain lights have confounded attempts

at conventional explanation for centuries.

And this phenomenon, while baffling,

is not entirely unique.

All over the world,

there are these anomalous lights.

One of the most famous is the Marfa lights in West Texas.

There's an area of the Mekong River

between Thailand and Laos

where lights appear on the river every spring,

and it's a well-known phenomenon in that area.

We have these lights, too,

that appear in the Bay of Bengal,

and fishermen believe that they are the lights

of dead fishermen who are sometimes

guiding them to their deaths,

or, conversely, they're helping them get back to shore.

These incredible occurrences of mysterious lights

that appear to be intelligently directed,

as if they're alive, and people have the sense

that they're coming from somewhere else.

Coming from other planets, perhaps even other dimensions.

GIORGIO A. TSOUKALOS: When these lights are seen, in my opinion,

it's the result of a technological process.

Some type of technology is involved,

and that technology would have to be extraterrestrial.

NARRATOR: Could there really be an alien connection

to these seemingly intangible orbs,

often referred to as "ghost lights"?

Might they offer a brief glimpse into other worlds,

possibly within other dimensions beyond our reality?

Were they extraterrestrial, from another planet?

Were they ultra-dimensional, from a different dimension?

That all depends who you ask.

But the one thing that all held in common

was, there is a greater reality in which we exist.

NARRATOR: In the modern world,

there is an invisible sea of wireless data.

Radio waves, microwaves,

and various other frequencies exist everywhere that go unseen.

And, in fact, what humans are able to perceive

with the naked eye is extremely limited.

The human visible spectrum

goes only from 380 to 770 nanometers.

This means that humans are only capable

of perceiving one octave of light of this entire spectrum.

The fact that we cannot see the rest of the spectrum

does not mean it's not there.

NARRATOR: Technology has enabled humankind

to become aware of much that cannot be perceived

with the five senses.

But could there be far more that exists

even outside the range

of humanity's most sophisticated technology?

Perhaps even hidden dimensions and alternate universes

that exist right next to our own?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes

and point to cutting-edge scientific research

that may have located proof

of these alternate, unseen worlds.

A team of scientists

at the California Institute of Technology

utilizes data collected

by the powerful Planck Satellite Telescope

to examine physical evidence of the big bang.

To their astonishment, they also discover evidence

of so-called "hot spots"--

places where our universe could actually be coming

into contact with others.

MICHAEL DENNIN: Picture two balloons being blown up

really close together,

and they happen to touch or bounce off each other,

or even just come very close enough to interact.

That will leave an imprint in our universe

that will show up in this cosmic microwave background signal.

JOHN BRANDENBURG: This raises the question:

would we perceive

other dimensions

and other universes with other dimensionalities?

This also raises the question

of whether life and intelligence could exist

in these parallel universes,

and would we perceive this as like a ghost

or a spirit, an angel?

CHILDRESS: When we think of the Brown Mountain lights,

it's quite possible that they are interdimensional

or even from another universe.

And it makes you wonder,

what other unseen energies are everywhere

that we're unaware of and can't detect?

NARRATOR: Could the Brown Mountain lights

actually be emanating from a parallel universe?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes

and they suggest that intimate knowledge

of these inhabited worlds can be found

in the world's most sacred texts.

In a relatively unassuming suburban ranch home,

an unseen force begins

to terrorize the Herrmann family.

(screaming)

Screw tops mysteriously pop off bottles.

- Objects fly across the room. - (whimpering)

NARRATOR: Furniture topples over.

CHRIS BADER: After this phenomena went on

for several weeks, the Herrmanns became confused,

perhaps even a little bit frightened.

They reported the phenomena to the police department.

A couple of police detectives came over.

YOUNG: A psychological investigation would look

into the family dynamics.

Is there something happening

at this particular point in their journey

that causes distress they are not aware of

so that the physical vibrations would affect their surroundings?

BADER: Eventually,

the parapsychology lab at Duke University came in

to investigate the case.

The Duke lab talked about poltergeist phenomena

as possibly the release of emotional energy,

particularly from adolescents or young children

or kids going through puberty.

The idea being that they were confused,

they didn't know what was happening to their bodies,

they had emotional energy and trauma.

They were operating under the assumption

that the poltergeist phenomena was due

to telekinetic energy being released

by the young boy in the family.

These things were seen by a whole group of people.

Even some of the experts saw the phenomenon.

Can this be something from another dimension?

It's not clear. Is this a group hallucination?

Are they somehow channeling the sighting to each other?

The psychic expert said it's often an adolescent girl,

so she watched the girl to see

if somehow it was happening when she was there,

but it didn't really pan out.

So it didn't follow classic lines, and yet

there were lots of witnesses, experts, and

no explanation was ever found.

Years later, Steven Spielberg wove the tale

into a fine movie that was a big hit--

Poltergeist.

NARRATOR: If this poltergeist event was not simply the result

of telekinetic energy, as some investigators suspected,

then what can explain it?

Was the Herrmann family really haunted by ghosts?

Or could they have encountered an entity

from another dimension?

We know science has been able to measure all sorts

of invisible things-- the electromagnetic field,

the heat signature of objects and people.

So the fact that we don't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

Any contact that we have

with an interdimensional being is actually happening

beyond our normal visual spectrum.

There is no question in my mind

that there is more than one species

right here on the Earth

that is operating

within different frequency ranges.

That's why we don't really see them.

Most of our extraterrestrial encounters are interdimensional.

These beings are not coming from far away.

They are actually within our human plane,

only existing in another dimension.

And all we're doing

is crossing from one dimension to another

within this earthly reality.

It doesn't mean that all extraterrestrial encounter

is interdimensional.

In fact, I believe it's both.

NARRATOR: Could the Herrmann poltergeist and others like it

have been caused by beings from another dimension?

Ancient astronaut theorists suggest

that such an audacious concept is possible

and believe this could also help explain the existence

of everything from so-called ghosts to angels and demons.

For their proof, they point

to a particular phrase found in multiple religious texts--

a phrase in the Hebrew Talmud, as well as the Koran,

which details the existence

of seven levels of heaven and earth.

TZADOK: What are the seven levels of heaven?

Some associate them with the different planets

of our solar system.

But others refer to them

as being parallel dimensions.

So, when we speak of the other worlds,

which people have interacted with

throughout the centuries,

maybe we're not really dealing with extraterrestrials

from outer space

but ultra-terrestrials coming from parallel space.

NARRATOR: Could it be that what are commonly understood

to be ghosts are not spirits of the deceased

but entities from other dimensions

that, while able to manipulate things

in our world, cannot be fully perceived by humans?

While in deep meditation within the Hira Cave,

the Prophet Muhammad is visited by an otherworldly messenger--

the Archangel Gabriel.

HENRY: Muhammad was meditating in a cave when suddenly,

as if out of nowhere,

the Archangel Gabriel manifested.

In the Koran, they describe Gabriel

as standing on or between horizons.

This is a tip-off that we're dealing

with an interdimensional being.

'Cause in ancient texts, it means

that they had the ability to phase

in between dimensions, to take on a physical form,

and then to revert back to their light body form.

NARRATOR: According to the Islamic tradition,

Gabriel provided Muhammad revelations direct from Allah.

These teachings would inform the Koran

and become the basis for the Muslim faith--

the second largest religion in the world.

Might it really be

that the messenger Gabriel was an interdimensional being

from an unseen realm here to assist humankind?

CHILDRESS: Here we have

an angel who's basically acting like an extraterrestrial,

who even has some kind of aircraft

that he's flying Muhammad around in.

When we think of space travel

and encounters with extraterrestrials,

it's quite possible

that they are using some interdimensional way

of traveling, but it doesn't mean

that they are necessarily interdimensional

or even from another universe,

but they have the technology

to go from one dimension to another,

to appear and disappear,

and it all has to do with technology.

NARRATOR: Could it really be

that religious prophets have gained access

to parallel dimensions beyond our known reality?

Dimensions from which they

and other advanced beings might access our world

via interdimensional highways that allow them

to move without any space or time restrictions?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes

and suggest further evidence can be found

by examining modern accounts

detailing unsettling encounters with the so-called

"shadow people."

December 2, 1975.

In the wake of the Vietnam War,

the Hmong people-- a group of Indigenous Laotians--

are forced to flee their country

as the Communist Party seizes political control.

Thousands of displaced Hmong people immigrate

to the United States.

But as they become settled in their new communities,

they face an unexpected and much more mysterious threat.

CHILDRESS: There was

a very strange rash of deaths of Hmong men,

who suddenly died in their sleep.

And medical technicians could find no reason

for these strange deaths.

If you look at the statistics,

suddenly, when the Hmong people arrived in the United States,

their death rates skied.

Why? Nobody knows why,

because they didn't have any symptoms. They just died.

NARRATOR: After numerous inconclusive autopsies,

mystified doctors were unable to find a cause of death,

but gave the phenomenon a name--

Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome.

All but one of the 117 men who died were in good health,

with a median age of 33.

So, while some doctors now speculate

that the deaths might be explained

by an obscure genetic cardiac arrhythmia,

the Hmong believe there is another explanation.

Modern medical science could not explain these deaths.

But among the Hmong, they knew it was because

they couldn't practice their original religion.

In Laos, there is a belief

that there are night spirits that are dangerous,

but if you have done your rituals,

your prayers, your ceremonies,

and have your ceremonial objects near your bed, you're fine.

It's all under control when you're in Laos.

But when you're brought to another country

and you're working odd shifts and things,

maybe your rituals get a little off.

So you're in trouble,

and the night spirits get you, and you die,

which is just so strange.

I mean, these are night spirits.

That's superstition, but they died.

The deaths are real.

NARRATOR: These shadowy night spirits are known

by the Hmong people as Chochua,

and are often described as "pressure demons--"

that is, demons that exert pressure

by sitting on their victims' chests

until they can no longer breathe.

The Hmong people talked about some of the symptoms

they experienced--

not just nightmares but visions

and a terrible pressure on their bodies

because their ancestral spirits were no longer protecting them.

CHILDRESS: The Hmong themselves

explained it as these shadow entities

were killing and punishing them

for not having done their rituals correctly.

HENRY: The reason why we know

that they believed they were dying from this is

because medical experts, researchers talked

with the family members, and that's what they said.

NARRATOR: The Hmong people's description

of their interaction with the pressure demons

known as Chochua bears a striking resemblance

to what ancient astronaut theorists describe

as mysterious entities called shadow people.

An extraordinary experience has been reported

by thousands of people worldwide.

They're asleep, suddenly

they wake up, and there's this dark,

humanoid figure that's opaque.

It appears to be made of some ethereal substance

that reflects no light.

RICKSECKER: Shadow entities can be a lot

of different things.

But in general what we see

with these shadow entities are some common traits,

such as no facial features--

everything is black and dark in nature.

Some may be very solid,

some may be very translucent,

but we're not getting any detail.

NARRATOR: Due to their shadowy nature,

experiencers have difficulty making sense

of just what these entities are.

But for most,

the encounters are terrifyingly real.

On a quiet night,

journalist Paul Christensen is asleep in bed

when, suddenly, he's jolted awake

by a jarring physical sensation.

It was like being chained to the bottom of the ocean.

You can't move,

you can't breathe.

You open your eyes,

and there is a presence in the room with you.

You can't make out who it is, what it is.

It looks like

just a dark entity.

The air behind them--

I don't know how to describe this--

it's kind of fuzzy.

It's kind of moving.

And then I was just trying to make something move

or come out of me, and it ended in

just the most bloodcurdling scream

that I could get out of my mouth.

(screams)

And as soon as I screamed,

my girlfriend that was laying next to me woke up,

and I turned the light on...

...and it was gone.

NARRATOR: Paul is uncertain how long the encounter lasted,

but it was only the first of several

that would take place over the next five years.

Each left him paralyzed with fear.

CHRISTENSEN: At the time these were happening,

I was frightened for my life.

Part of me feels like

there's some kind of demonic presence around them.

I've never felt that they were there for good intentions.

It's always come with a heavy feeling of darkness.

That they were there for

something other than anything good.

NARRATOR: While Paul's encounters with shadowy beings

have left him frightened and desperate for answers,

his experience is not unique.

In 2001, author Heidi Hollis released The Secret War,

in which she shared her own startling experiences

with entities she called "shadow people."

HEIDI HOLLIS: I don't even know how to describe that level of fear

because it was absolutely hulking over me.

And this started my whole journey into

the topic of shadow people.

I'm a person that's not afraid to say

I've experienced something.

I'm like, "Bring it out into the light,

and let's talk about it."

From the start, when I finally got the book published in 2001,

thousands of people from around the world,

from priests to schoolteachers,

have written me, seeking help.

So my goal is to try to help people to understand

that you can keep these things at bay.

NARRATOR: According to Heidi's research

collecting and studying people's encounters,

these dark entities can appear as

various shapes and figures.

The experiences that I receive

often involve a person

waking up,

and they feel a presence is in the room.

And if they spot it,

the thing comes even closer

and pins them down,

and they're paralyzed.

They often come at nighttime because your guard is down,

so they're taking advantage of you

when you're not at your best.

So they're sneaky, they're deceptive,

and they evoke a lot of horrific things

into people's lives.

NARRATOR: The dark, humanoid appearance of shadow beings

has caused some to identify them as apparitions or ghosts.

But many researchers believe the shadow people

are a much different type of entity.

A ghost is a human spirit

that is taking some sort of corporeal form.

With a ghost, we get a lot of detail in the apparition.

We can see facial features. We can see clothing.

We can see details in the hair.

Where with shadow entities, we get almost nothing.

NARRATOR: While many psychologists

continue to dismiss the phenomenon

as a symptom of sleep paralysis,

researchers point out

that people have reported encounters

that happened when they were wide awake.

In my own personal experience with the shadow people,

I was getting ready to go to sleep,

sitting up in bed, and all of a sudden

this black humanoid figure enters into the room,

walks across the room.

I follow it and watch it, and it just vanishes.

I didn't experience any fear.

I was totally perplexed by what I've seen

and thought, "Wow, what was that?"

HOLLIS: Believe it or not,

the first shadow people experience that I had

was witnessing it following another friend of mine

in broad daylight.

And I saw this entity,

this big, hulking black mass--

it kind of looks like a man

with its head directly connected to its shoulders--

going tree to tree

and bush to bush as we're walking along.

And I was just beside myself.

The whole way that we go, we see this thing.

I really thought, you know,

I just witnessed one crazy thing,

and that was it.

I trust myself and I know what it is I experienced,

and I know what was going on.

NARRATOR: If the so-called shadow people are not merely

a trick of the mind but very real

and possibly dangerous entities,

what exactly are they?

Perhaps further clues can be found by examining

similar accounts that were recorded

thousands of years ago.

NARRATOR: Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma.

This nearly seven million-acre territory

is home to Native people

who have occupied North America

for more than 4,000 years.

The Choctaw continue to carry on the centuries-old traditions

of their ancestors to this day.

And one story that continues to loom large

is that of the Nalusa Chito,

which the Choctaw describe as a shadow being.

This Nalusa Chito is

a demonic entity.

And the Choctaw believe that if you're having bad thoughts,

that this will attract the Nalusa Chito to you.

YOUNG: The Nalusa Chito would get you

by creeping inside you and eating your soul.

The Choctaw were so afraid of this creature,

they would not say the name.

And many people would move along

and abandon huts and things because of the fear

of this shadow figure.

BIRNES: We see the shadow people in the stories

of other Native American people.

On Native American reservations,

particularly the Jicarilla Apache reservation

in Dulce, New Mexico,

they talk about the shadow people

as if they are their regular companions.

The legend is this: if a shadow person,

who's really a spirit, sees you

and that shadow people attaches itself to you,

it will be with you for the rest of your life.

NARRATOR: The traditions of these Native American tribes

originated centuries ago.

And as ancient astronaut theorists point out,

accounts of shadowy entities

can be found in the legends

of ancient cultures all around the world.

While there are stories of shadow people in modern times,

what I find interesting is,

there are also references to

what seem to be shadow people in ancient texts,

and, frankly, they're very strange accounts.

Shadow beings go far back into antiquity,

all the way back to the time of ancient Sumer,

where in that culture, you see accounts of Al�,

which is a type of udug,

which in their culture was a type of demon.

Now, Al�, in the way that he would appear to people,

it was very much like our shadow entities of today,

where he was very dark in nature.

He had no facial features, no eyes, no nose, no mouth,

and he would hover over people at night.

YOUNG: Of course, there are many accounts

of demons in the scriptures,

the Christian Bible and the Talmud.

In Jewish lore, there is the shadow of death

or the death shadow.

There is this idea that there are

malevolent spirits that could harm you.

NARRATOR: Commonly compared with the shadow people

is an entity known in Islam as the jinn,

supernatural creatures that are often invisible

and have the ability to shapeshift.

The derivation of "jinn"

comes from an Arabic, uh, root,

J-N-N, which literally means to hide or to conceal.

The jinn are created of smokeless fire.

Our English word "genie," you know, the mythical spirit

that lives inside of a lamp, comes from the word "jinn."

RICKSECKER: The jinn are considered more trickster in nature.

They have some interesting abilities,

such as they can instantly transport

from one place to another.

They also seem to appear very dark and shadowy in nature.

They were these big looming type of characters

when they enter the room.

As a Muslim, you know, I believe the jinn to be real.

Jinn can be angelic. They can be demonic.

And so this idea is that

you have to be careful with them

because they are these powerful figures.

They are these literally supernatural figures.

And so, across the Muslim world, in the present day,

particularly in places like North Africa,

you may wear an amulet,

you may have things to ward off the jinn.

You may have, you know, certain things that you do

to protect you from the jinn

because the idea is that the jinn,

when they're in their demonic capacity,

will do things that can be harmful

or tormenting to human beings.

What I find fascinating is that you have

a myriad of cultures from all over the world

that have very, very similar beliefs

about these shadow entities.

Now, they may call it something different,

but you see in Turkey, the karabasan,

the dark presser, as a very, very similar entity

as to the kana tevoro in Fiji,

as to the pisadeira in Brazil.

They're all talking about the same type of being,

the same type of entity,

and it calls into question,

how are these beings visiting all of these

different cultures from all over the world

since they did not have any contact with each other?

GEORGE NOORY: Historically, since the beginning of time,

we have had creature stories of strange beings,

of shadows, of the bogeyman,

and they somehow echo some of the reports

that we're hearing today. They're somewhat similar.

I don't think they've ever gone away.

They're still here on the planet.

NARRATOR: Have separate cultures around the world,

and throughout history,

been haunted by the same dark figures?

And if so, just what kind of entities are they?

Perhaps further clues can be found

by examining eyewitness accounts of strange energy

when face-to-face with shadow people.

Researcher Michelle LeBaron and a group of colleagues

are investigating reports of a shadowlike entity

at a historic saloon called the Washoe Club.

RICKSECKER: She and another woman

ventured into one particular room,

and between her and her friend,

this large shadow loomed up.

She described it as about six-five, six-six in height.

But, again, very, very dark in nature,

so there was no detail.

At one point, she thought

it had completely engulfed her friend,

and they ended up screaming and running out of the room.

Now, this woman, a few minutes later,

after they collected themselves,

walked back over to the hall,

and there stood again this very tall, dark shadow,

but it started doing something very unusual.

There was this pulsating energy

that was emanating forth from it,

like a whoop-whoop-whoop.

And she could hear it as well as feel it.

In many cases, people feel a certain energy

projecting out from these beings.

And in this particular woman's case,

it was this pulsating-type energy.

With other people, it may be more constant.

So people are experiencing different types of energy

from these beings, but with each of them,

energy nonetheless.

JASON OFFUTT: I have interviewed people

who have encountered shadow beings,

and they've heard what sounded like electricity buzzing.

Uh, and-and the sound would disappear when

the shadow people left the room.

RICKSECKER: There was another woman I interviewed

who saw a flash of light out in her hallway.

And all of a sudden this shadow man ran into her room,

jumped on top of her

and pressed her down into the bed.

And the shadow man jumped back off,

ran back out into the hallway

and she saw another flash of light.

The next morning, when she woke up,

she noticed that all the electronics in that room

had been absolutely fried.

And she had to call the fire department

for them to come and inspect everything.

NARRATOR: In addition to hearing and feeling surges of energy,

witnesses often report

another curious detail about the shadow people,

the appearance of glowing eyes.

HENRY: A lot of the shadow people

have no facial features whatsoever,

just blackness,

but some do have glowing eyes,

and in particular it's the one

with the red glowing eyes

that appear to be the most malevolent.

OFFUTT: When it comes to shadow beings with eyes,

especially blazing red eyes,

people also experience

a fear that is deeper

than just, "There's an entity in my room."

And they feel that these entities

are-are up to nefarious means.

NARRATOR: So many reports of shadow encounters

are associated with pulsating energy,

glowing eyes and electronic disturbances

that researchers wonder if some shadow entities

might actually be misunderstood technology.

HENRY: It's often discussed that powerful alien technology

can influence human electronics and technology.

This is definitely something that is reported

with the shadow people experiences.

RICKSECKER: There's also an interesting idea in which

these extraterrestrials may be using some sort

of cloaking device

to hide themselves from our view.

But since they may not quite understand

the physiology of our eyes,

it comes off more of like a shadow.

So, what we may be seeing

is an imperfect type of alien technology.

OFFUTT: I've interviewed two different people

who have described to me what sounds like

it could be some sort of cloaking technology.

One person in particular said that he saw

a cloak open and saw beyond the disguise.

And what he saw, he said,

was reptilian scales.

Uh, I spoke with someone else

who saw something similar

but described the skin as more, like, slick.

Like-like a frog's but gray.

TSOUKALOS: Could it be that we're not talking about shadow people

but some type of a technology

that appeared like a shadow, and it may be, you know,

some time a technology didn't work?

It would reveal that person underneath the cloak

or underneath the device.

And so they will be seen

for maybe a fraction of a second.

NARRATOR: For ancient astronaut theorists,

the notion that the shadow people

might be some form of misunderstood technology

is an intriguing possibility,

but what many consider an absolute certainty

is their connection to extraterrestrials.

As evidence, they point to the many accounts

linking the shadow people phenomenon and alien abduction.

There are a lot of common denominators

with people who experience shadow figures

and those who are abducted.

You wake up in the middle of the night.

You are taken by surprise. You are paralyzed.

You cannot move. You cannot speak.

You are helpless.

You feel that this entity has taken over you.

It is projecting some sort of energy

that you cannot control.

In my professional, uh, experience

as an investigative reporter,

talking with maybe about 3,000 people

in the abduction syndrome over about four decades,

one of the common experiences

that you will hear from abductees

is that they feel paralyzed in the presence of

something in their room, usually an entity.

A few call them "shadow people."

In March of 1991, in my mail,

I received an envelope that contained

illustrations and an audiocassette

and a letter from a woman

who lived in Porterville, California.

And part of the story was her encounter

with shadow people,

and I would like to read a little bit

about what she wrote.

"I was in bed asleep when something woke me up.

"The room was filled, this time,

"with an orange glow,

"and at the center of the room was a hole out of which

"two well-formed, seemingly three-dimensional,

"solid shadow people were stepping.

"The two shadow men grabbed me and pulled me toward the hole.

"That is the last I remember,

"and later I realized that the little guy,

"the gray guy that I call the Creep,

"was standing off to the right,

"watching my reaction to the whole thing.

He also seemed to be in charge of what was happening."

NARRATOR: Could the accounts of alleged alien abductees

reveal that reports of shadow people are,

in fact, extraterrestrial encounters?

Perhaps further clues can be found

by examining a shadowy being

often encountered by UFO witnesses:

an entity known as the Hat Man.

NARRATOR: Shadow people witnesses

often describe the entities they encounter

as appearing vaguely humanoid

with no discernible features,

but in some accounts

they take a curiously recognizable form.

RICKSECKER: One of the most mysterious types of shadow entities

is what people refer to as the Hat Man.

This type of entity

may be wearing a fedora-type hat with

an accompanying trench coat.

It may be a top hat with or without the cape.

But we don't see a lot of detail with the Hat Man.

We see that vague outline.

OFFUTT: The Hat Man appears just like any other shadow being.

There's no definition.

You-you can't see, uh, a nose, a chin,

uh, the eyes.

You see the outline of a fedora.

RICKSECKER: Many times people report these hat-wearing entities

coming into their bedrooms at night, sometimes flanked by

two humanoid type of shadow entities.

And they strike fear into the person there, lying in bed,

and, like an energy vampire, feed off of that fear.

HOLLIS: There's confusion out there between different entities.

Something I once called Hat Man shadow.

He is not a shadow person.

He can take on different forms, yes,

as far as being able to blend into a shadow.

But he could step out and he could be very solid.

So he's a very different type of entity.

But people think he directs the shadow people.

So, shadow people are essentially minions

to Hat Man.

NARRATOR: Could reports of the so-called Hat Man

shed new light on the shadow people phenomenon?

Perhaps further clues can be found by examining

one of the very first reported encounters

with these dark entities.

Bridgeport, Connecticut.

1953.

Albert K. Bender,

the nation's top UFO investigator,

receives a threatening visit

that will bring his research to an abrupt and premature halt.

RICKSECKER: Albert K. Bender founded

the International Flying Saucer Bureau.

This was during the big UFO flap of 1952

when flying saucers were witnessed over Washington, D.C.

and many other areas around the world.

And this organization blew up big within that first year.

However, just a year later,

he suddenly ended

the International Flying Saucer Bureau,

and people wondered why.

And what happened was that he came home one night,

went into his bedroom, and suddenly

these three dark, shadowy figures materialized

through his wall, into his bedroom.

They were wearing the hats and the overcoats.

They had glowing eyes and they smelled like sulfur.

NARRATOR: According to Bender,

the three entities communicated with him through telepathy,

warning him to discontinue his UFO research

and stop publishing his influential magazine,

the Space Review.

Afterwards, he became ill and didn't eat for three days.

HENRY: After this experience,

Bender was repeatedly visited, he said.

They gave him headaches, they controlled him telepathically,

and he ultimately gave up his UFO researches

and stopped publishing the Space Review,

in which he documented UFO sightings

throughout the world.

He told the people that had been subscribers

and he was working with,

"They told me, 'We come

"'from a very, very far distant place in this universe.

"'And we have been coming and going

"'from your planet for some time.

"'And we cannot allow you or anyone to interfere.

"'And, in fact, we have taken many humans

"'from this planet

to cover up our operations until we are done.'"

RICKSECKER: This is a very influential point in our history,

especially in the ufology community,

in which shadow entities interfered

and thwarted somebody's research,

and possibly set the field back a number of years.

NARRATOR: The visitors Albert Bender encountered

match descriptions of what is today known as the Hat Man,

but he called them by another name--

the Men in Black.

While the Men in Black are often portrayed

in pop culture as government agents,

many who claim to have encountered them believe

they are something other than human.

HENRY: The Men in Black are

mysterious and nefarious entities.

They're shadowy, they wear black clothing.

Many people believe

that they're either extraterrestrials or somehow

they're working for extraterrestrials

to prevent humans from learning the truth

about extraterrestrials on Earth.

OFFUTT: They talk to UFO witnesses.

Some people have reported,

they seem to not know things that are common,

like, you know, which end of a pen to use,

or, uh, if they're offered something to eat or drink,

they don't know how to eat or drink it.

HENRY: Both the Hat Man

and the Men in Black are known for wearing a hat.

They both influence people telepathically,

they both appear to be sometimes malevolent,

and they could, in fact, be the same type of a being.

There's a theory that the Hat Man

and the Men in Black are actually the ringleaders

of the shadow people and that,

in fact, they direct the shadow people

to influence humans, in particular

to keep them from investigating UFO experiences.

NOORY: There's no question

that the stories of shadow people,

Men in Black, and other visitations

are all mixed in together.

Are they the same? Possibly.

But what I think what is really happening on this planet is,

mass hysteria of real events

that are happening to real people.

And they can't understand what's going on.

Who knows what's happening?

NARRATOR: For ancient astronaut theorists,

the wide variety of reported shadow people encounters

makes finding an explanation for the phenomenon

all the more difficult.

But some researchers suggest

that we may come closer to the answer

by asking the question "Where do they come from?"

NARRATOR: One of the most common

and most curious observations reported

by shadow people experiencers

is that these entities are able

to make physical contact with them

but then often disappear

as though they are merely holograms.

OFFUTT: Generally, the shadow people will leave the room.

Either they will dissolve in a puff of smoke,

or they will walk through a door,

and they may or may not be material,

have mass, have structural form.

And there's been talk about,

maybe they come from some other dimension.

We take for granted that we live in a three-dimensional universe.

The quantum theory makes higher dimensions possible.

Think of fish living in a pond, for example.

The pond is two-dimensional,

the fish are stuck in a two-dimensional world.

They cannot visualize a third dimension,

but you could lift one of these fishes

into the third dimension, and they'd be shocked,

shocked to realize there's a whole universe

in the third dimension beyond their pond.

Well, we physicists, some of us believe

that we are the fish.

We spend all our life in a three-dimensional pond

thinking that that's all there is,

when right above us,

there could be higher dimensions,

hyperspatial dimensions up to 11.

RICKSECKER: Theoretically, we have up to 11 dimensions.

There may be other entities and other life-forms

living within these dimensions.

Now, how would they look to us

if they crossed over those dimensions

and entered into our world?

Well, maybe a shadow entity is one

of these interdimensional beings that has crossed over

from some other place in space-time into our world,

and we're seeing them as a shadow

because their energy and their personal resonance

doesn't quite adhere to the energy

and the resonance of our planet.

NOORY: If shadow people exist, and it's very possible

that they do, I think they're coming

from other dimensions within our universe.

I think there are entities that somehow leak through

because some of them even look disoriented,

like they-they don't know where they are.

Somehow they're coming through another dimension into ours,

and we're stuck with them.

NARRATOR: Could it be

that shadow people experiencers are witnessing entities

that are capable of traveling between dimensions?

According to ancient astronaut theorists,

there is evidence

that certain places on Earth act

as interdimensional portals.

RICKSECKER: We see shadow entities

in these certain locations around the world,

in which they seem to appear more often.

There are locations around our planet

where there's more of that earth energy

that is rising out of the ground.

You know, Stonehenge, the pyramids, Carnac,

places with that ancient energy that's rising from the ground.

Now, an interdimensional being may be using those locations

to enter into our domain.

NARRATOR: Some researchers believe

it is also possible that shadow people

can alter the human mind to see into other dimensions.

BIRNES: Ancient peoples believe

that shadow people have the ability

to enter a person's mind

and change that person's perception

so the person can see the spirit.

They've entered from their world into our world.

NARRATOR: According to ancient astronaut theorists,

the notion that the human mind can be altered

to access other dimensions

is supported by experiments

with a powerful hallucinogen called dimethyltryptamine,

or DMT.

Between 1990 and 1995,

scientists at the University of New Mexico administered DMT

to 60 volunteers and were surprised to find

that many of them had very similar visions,

including encounters with strange beings.

Experiments with electric stimulation of the brain

have also caused people

to have unexplainable encounters.

OFFUTT: There was a study

done, uh, in-in Sweden,

where these scientists put electric charges

in certain parts of the brain,

just to see how the subject would react to them.

And a young undergrad was sitting there with a notebook.

And when they increased the voltage

to a certain part of her brain,

she starting pulling away

from something that wasn't there.

And afterwards, uh, when she was asked

by the scientist to describe what was going on,

she said that she saw a shadow entity behind her.

And when the voltage was at its highest,

she said it was trying to take the notebook

and pen out of her hands, and she was jerking

to keep it from removing them.

So, is it some part of our brain that needs an electrical charge

to help us see what's already there?

Very possibly.

NARRATOR: Are shadow people witnesses

encountering entities from other dimensions?

Some ancient astronaut theorists suggest

there is an even more profound explanation--

that just outside the range of human perception,

Earth is inhabited by a great multitude

of otherworldly beings.

The dark, hulking figure that comes in the night

and paralyzes its prey remains the most common

shadow people experience.

But reports of these entities appearing in broad daylight,

as well as other types of shadow people accounts,

make it difficult for investigators

to pin down exactly what this phenomenon is.

When it comes to the different types of shadow entities,

their behavior, to me,

differentiates one from the other.

The ones that don't pay any attention to people at all--

they could be interdimensional.

The ones that are spying on us could be extraterrestrial.

The ones that instill fear could be demonic entities.

So, even though they look the same generally,

I-I don't think a lot of them are.

HENRY: The multifactorial explanation

makes a lot of sense.

It could explain why some of them instill fear,

and some of them don't,

why some of them appear during daytime,

and some of them only appear at nighttime.

The fact is, we just don't know enough about the shadow people,

and a lot more research needs to be done.

NARRATOR: While answers remain elusive,

one popular new theory is

that the shadow people exist outside the limits

of human perception,

not occupying an alternate dimension

but vibrating at a frequency

we are not normally able to perceive.

TSOUKALOS: It's a scientific fact

that the human eye can only see certain things.

For example, we cannot see the infrared light spectrum.

So you have to wonder if shadow people operate

in a spectrum

that we humans simply cannot see.

And perhaps there are certain people

whose brains operate in a different way,

and they're able to process

more of the reality that we currently experience.

CORY: There are other spectrums that continue

on past our physical brain and our physical self.

And so, why is it so difficult

to imagine that these entities could be existing?

That these entities exist in these other spectrum

and tap into our spectrum at will and upon command?

NARRATOR: If unseen entities can effortlessly cross

into our reality,

is it possible for us

to similarly journey into theirs?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes

and suggest further evidence can be found

by examining a shamanistic practice

in Australia that dates back

thousands of years-- dreamtime.

NARRATOR: The Australian Outback.

Located hundreds of miles

from the bustle of the major city centers

of Sydney and Melbourne,

this sparsely populated region of the continent

is home to an Indigenous population

that can trace their roots back over 40,000 years.

Through ceremonial trances, elders claim to be able

to freely access a realm

where they connect with ancestral beings.

They refer to this alternate reality

as the dreaming, or dreamtime.

YOUNG: The task of the traveler, the dreamer,

is to connect the two worlds,

is to bring the reality of the dream,

which they consider superior

to the reality of what we call waking life,

to bring that over

because it is full of guidance and treasures.

Dreamtime allows

the Indigenous people of Australia

to travel back in time, or at least visit

with ancestors very far back in time,

they say back to their original ancestors.

NARRATOR: The aboriginal artwork depicts these ancestors

with oblong heads and large eyes--

an appearance

that ancient astronaut theorists find eerily similar

to modern-day accounts of Grey aliens.

But Australia's dreamtime is not an isolated anomaly.

In fact, shamans and holy men

in numerous other world cultures

speak of alternate realms.

Throughout Asia,

Hindus and Buddhists believe in the existence

of infinite universes.

The Yoruba of West Africa believe

another realm exists above the physical realm.

In the Kabbalah, it is taught

that there are 125 levels between humans and the Creator.

And even in North America,

many Native tribes perform ceremonies

that connect them with unseen entities.

But if spiritual leaders really are able

to see into other dimensions,

is it possible that there may be a way

for all humans to obtain such vision?

The Upper Amazon region of South America.

For hundreds of years,

medicine men here have utilized a plant-based drug

called ayahuasca for healing

and to access otherworldly realms.

YOUNG: In these ceremonies

and altered states that are conjured up

in the Amazon and other places,

there is information that seems to be of great value.

Ayahuasca makes the curtains between realities vanish.

Such journeys are central to shamanistic initiatory rituals.

Whether they are breaking through to parallel realities

or exploring the hidden dimensions

of their own inner worlds,

these experiences are dramatically significant

in the lives of the travelers.

HENRY: One of the great revelations

of the ayahuasca experience is that

they experience ancient ancestors

as well as extraterrestrial beings,

suggesting that, in fact, the ancestors

and the extraterrestrials are the same beings.

NARRATOR: The ayahuasca brew is made from two ingredients--

a root from one specific plant

and a leaf from an entirely different species.

The active ingredient

in the prepared concoction is dimethyltryptamine, or DMT.

This powerful psychedelic chemical is found

in small quantities within the human body.

The substance is believed to be released

into the human endocrine system

and floods the pineal gland upon death

and during near-death experiences.

While mainstream scientists consider the action

of the ayahuasca to be purely hallucinogenic,

some modern researchers believe

the substance can open doorways to new realities.

McQUEEN: DMT seems to be able

to alter our brain wiring

in a way that allows us to perceive

in more than four dimensions.

Dimethyltryptamine might be the mechanism

to allow our perception

of these other alternate realities.

It's like the key to a receiver.

You pop the key into the receiver,

and it activates not just a part of the brain,

it literally reorients all of the receivers in the brain

to pick up more information.

NARRATOR: The question of just how ancient healers

stumbled across this particular combination

in a jungle containing tens of thousands

of plant and vine species remains a mystery.

CHILDRESS: What we're looking at here

are incredible, remarkable plants

that are using receptors in our brains

to help us have these otherworldly experiences,

contact otherworldly beings.

So, who has created this incredible

biological catalyst

for humans to use?

You have to wonder

if extraterrestrials themselves didn't have a hand in this.

that our ancient ancestors

were given the key to access hidden worlds

by extraterrestrial beings?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes

and suggest that modern-day research

may be rediscovering the potential

of these psychedelic substances.

Psychologists

at the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness

explore the therapeutic benefits of psychedelic agents

in cases of trauma,

depression and addiction.

Along with psychedelic cannabis,

researchers explore the effects of DMT on the human mind.

Curiously, experiencers often claim

to not only be able to see alternate realities

but also to have two-way communication

with inhabitants of these hidden worlds.

Some people have experiences of angelic beings,

some people have what would be considered

classical alien abduction experiences,

where they feel like they're being pulled into space,

either operated on, healed in some way,

and then some are experiencing

a hyper-technological civilization

that has somehow evolved beyond four-dimensional spaces,

and that they're helping us wake up

to that capacity in ourselves.

NARRATOR: Many who use these drugs

believe they connect them to an even greater reality,

allowing them to channel communication

from unseen realms that exist all around us.

But is it possible

that some people are able

to access other dimensions without the aid

of psychedelic agents or spiritual ceremonies?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes and, as evidence,

point to modern-day seers who claim to be able

to observe events that are happening

in another place and time.

Professional remote viewer John Vivanco claims

to have the ability

to access unseen realms

through psychic, out-of-body experiences.

VIVANCO: I worked with corporations, uh,

as a professional remote viewer on these projects.

Corporations, intelligence, uh, counterterror

for the FBI after 9/11.

Remote viewing fits into ESP.

But remote viewing is also kind of like the, uh,

Swiss Army knife of psychic functioning,

because it kind of uses all of these different aspects of ESP

in order to get information on things.

NARRATOR: A key part of remote viewing involves entering

a trancelike state,

which John does by listening to specific sounds.

We have brain waves.

And in the thinking, monkey-mind state

that we're-we're normally in,

that is beta.

If you think about an EEG,

there's very high peaks and valleys--

da-da-da-da-da-da-da-- moving fast.

That's not a very good place to remote-view from.

So when we listen to the binaural beats,

they move us down into alpha,

which is a little bit slower and meditative,

and also down into theta.

And we-we like to stay in the alpha to the theta zone,

using that tool in order to get the best information.

CORY: During a trance state,

the brain begins to relax,

going down from beta to theta to alpha state,

which is between four and eight hertz.

Prophets and seers tap into the theta layer of reality,

where they are extremely relaxed,

which allows them to receive visions and imagery

beyond the normal human perception.

NARRATOR: While working as a remote viewer,

Vivanco claims to have gathered more than just information.

He has also encountered otherworldly beings.

I'm at home, and...

I'm having this crazy dream.

So, I open my eyes,

I sit up, and there's this thing...

...I'd say, like, six feet away from me.

It's got a head shaped like a-a football on its side,

two eyes.

It's got these sort of spindly legs.

So I start backing up and I'm starting to go,

"Whoa, whoa, whoa."

And it telepathically communicated with me.

And they said, "We are here

to help you, and we want you to help us."

NARRATOR: John was not the only remote viewer on his team

to have such an experience.

VIVANCO: Now, the other viewers started to experience the same thing.

And so that's when we started to, "Okay,

now, you know, I'm not hallucinating."

NARRATOR: Is it possible that remote viewers such as John Vivanco

possess the capability to access other realms,

realms inhabited by otherworldly entities?

Might this ability offer insight

into mysterious vanishing lights,

shadowy figures

and encounters with extraterrestrial beings?

The 1970s.

The United States Central Intelligence Agency

enlists scientists at the Stanford Research Institute

for a highly classified and controversial study.

They want to test

whether psychics can be effectively used

for intelligence gathering.

VIVANCO: Remote viewing was developed

in the early 1970s at the request of the CIA.

And what they found was that, yes,

they could turn psychics into spies.

This developed into a full protocol and a methodology

in order to send people to remote locations

that they could not send physical people

and get information, bring it back.

NARRATOR: Five decades later, many law enforcement agencies

continue to consider remote viewing

a valuable tool. But just how it works

remains a mystery.

The way that I perceive remote viewing to work

is outside of space-time.

We move through another dimension, in a sense,

outside of our 3D physical reality to gain information.

NARRATOR: Is it possible that remote viewers

are able to witness events happening in distant locations

because they are actually traveling

not physically but mentally through other dimensions?

Does the key to accessing alternate realms

exist within the mind?

In May 2019,

former British intelligence officer Nick Pope

visited the ECETI Ranch in the Pacific Northwest

to witness this theory being put to the test.

ECETI is home to the Enlightened Contact

with Extraterrestrial Intelligence organization.

UFO hunters consider it a major hot spot

for unexplained aerial phenomena.

Over the past 33 years,

scientists from Boeing, NASA and Lockheed Skunk Works

have come to ECETI to research the activity in the sky.

But what sets ECETI apart from other UFO watch organizations

is that their most powerful observational tool

is not a telescope--

it's remote viewers.

I was in charge of the British government's

real-life X-Files project.

We looked at UFOs, crop circles, alien abductions.

Anything mysterious and unexplained, I did it.

Remote viewing might be tapping into unknown dimensions.

I know this sounds like science fiction,

but actually it isn't.

Some of the work being done at places

like the Large Hadron Collider

are now quite seriously looking at the concept

of other dimensions.

I am a remote viewer.

I've been, uh, doing this professionally for 20 years.

Over 20 years now. And I run a team of remote viewers,

and we work operational-type projects for clients

and we look at different types of phenomena

that can't be explained through conventional means.

I'm known as an experiencer/contactee,

but also I hold sky watch events.

So we're gonna do a sky watch and just see what happens.

- Where are we gonna do that? - We're just gonna go out to the sky watch field here.

Okay, great.

NARRATOR: As Nick joins Peter to conduct field surveillance,

John has stationed two remote viewers in a windowless room,

armed with nothing more than a pencil and a drawing pad.

The way it works is that a remote viewer is given

a random eight-digit number

connected to what they're supposed to remote-view.

Now, they don't get what they're supposed to remote-view,

only the number. That's it.

They're gonna be at the location of whatever it is,

through the mind, describing exactly what that is.

So, what are these remote viewers

actually gonna be doing in there?

It's not so much viewing.

We get visual snippets

and a lot of body sensations.

Basically, they're gonna be drawing and writing

a lot on papers.

And afterwards,

once we've got the data,

how are we actually going to analyze it?

So, I will collect that information

from them when they're done.

And then, in the morning, we can meet up

and see if we can come up with, uh,

some explanation for what went on.

Well, great. That sounds good.

I hope that we're gonna have some

interesting and meaningful results.

NARRATOR: After discussing the details of the evening's plans,

Peter and Nick part ways with John

and join the rest of the sky watch team in the field.

Pete, I see the team has grown somewhat.

SLATTERY: We've got Adam here with us.

He's gonna be helping out with the satellite tracker

and-and monitoring the gear.

Just very important to be very quick off the mark,

knowing what's what.

Sometimes we can have two things in the sky at the same time,

and one of 'em could be a satellite, the other not.

People can mix it up.

So when we're focused on the sky, it's great

that somebody's focused on the satellite tracker.

Great. So we're essentially making sure

- we don't miss anything. - Oh, definitely, yeah.

We don't want to muddle things up.

NARRATOR: The team gets to work,

setting up the watch station

before the sun goes down for the evening.

They will be using various technology,

including infrared cameras, in order to capture

any anomalies in the sky.

The location for their watch overlooks Mount Adams,

the largest active volcano in Washington State

and a hot spot for UFO sightings.

In fact, Mount Adams is associated

with the first UFO case to ever make nationwide headlines.

In June of 1947,

aviator and businessman Kenneth Arnold claimed

to have witnessed nine UFOs flying in tandem

from Mount Rainier at incredible speeds.

He reported that they performed a number of unusual maneuvers

and then disappeared into Mount Adams.

As night sets in,

the team has all eyes glued to the sky

and on the lookout

for any objects that might cross their path.

Utilizing real-time satellite tracking data,

they can anticipate the arrival of all man-made traffic

passing over their airspace...

- SLATTERY: Hey, is that a satellite? - WALLBERG: Yeah.

...including the International Space Station,

- or ISS. - POPE: Adam,

how are we on the timing with the ISS?

WALLBERG: Uh, one more minute.

POPE: And which direction? West?

Uh, it's gonna be coming from the west, moving to the east.

Look at how bright this thing is.

Whoa! Oh, there it is there!

See?

- That's the space station. Can you see that? - WALLBERG: That is the ISS.

- Yeah. - POPE: Okay.

NARRATOR: While the field team watches the sky,

the remote viewers are sketching

visual representations of whatever comes to them.

Incredibly,

as the International Space Station passes overhead,

both women begin to draw

virtually identical rectangular objects.

Well, it's not a UFO,

but it's still a pretty spectacular thing.

Yeah, it's pretty epic to see.

NARRATOR: After spotting a few other satellites in the sky,

Nick and Peter notice a mysterious fast-moving object,

one that does not appear to be a satellite.

SLATTERY: There's one right there right now.

Look how quick it is. Is that a satellite?

I've got it on camera.

- WALLBERG: Where you at? - East...

southeast.

WALLBERG: I see nothing on the tracker.

SLATTERY: Can you see it up here, guys?

Okay, I definitely saw it up in that section of the sky

with my naked eye.

It-it just caught my attention out of the corner of my eye.

I turned round, saw it for a few seconds

and then it faded.

That's exactly what I saw.

POPE: And there was nothing

on the monitor at all?

Nope. Nothing at all.

That section of the sky was clear.

POPE: And that's, uh, satellites. What about

aircraft and flight paths?

if the remote viewers picked up the same objects in the sky

that he witnessed with his own eyes

and perhaps even perceived additional details.

So, the remote viewers

were tasked on two different things last night,

and I wanted them to describe

the first object on the sky watch

that was determined to be a satellite.

Right. So they have no idea that you are asking them

- to look at a satellite. - None.

- The-the satellite is-is almost the target? - Exactly.

So you ready to go through the first one?

- Yes. - Okay.

So, this right here is energy.

This is determined to be energy by this remote viewer.

And talking about how it's crackling,

hits and bounces of burst. It's like static.

So this is a mixture, essentially, of, uh,

almost like a stream of consciousness,

- what they are describing here in words. - Right. Exactly.

POPE: And then a visual representation

- of it. - Mm-hmm. Right.

Let me show you the next scan.

This subject is talking about a dense material,

thick gray, cylindrical object.

Now, this different viewer is

getting the same type of box.

- It's got lights blinking. - And these are

completely independent from each other?

- Right. - Wow.

One, two-- pretty much the same.

- VIVANCO: Pretty much the same. - (chuckles) Wow.

Impressive.

So, but let me show you this here.

There's a burst of communication,

is what I find interesting.

And you have these, uh...

almost looks like solar panels on it.

POPE: Now, we actually saw the International Space Station

last night, and it actually has those two separate light panels.

It-it-- Like, what makes it different

from most conventional satellites.

Could this be what we're looking at here?

VIVANCO: Absolutely. If what you saw first identified as a satellite,

- then, yeah, absolutely. - Wow.

NARRATOR: Two separate remote viewers,

both depicting objects

that are consistent with the makeup

of the International Space Station.

It is an impressive coincidence.

But not as impressive as what John Vivanco

is about to reveal to Nick Pope

as concerns the mysterious UFO they spotted in the night sky.

So that's a bona fide UFO. We can't explain that.

And it blinked out.

It completely disappeared.

What was the first thing you saw?

Well, the first anomalous thing we saw

was a flash of light

in the sky. I saw it myself.

We had a satellite tracker up and running.

We eliminated that possibility. There was no satellite.

So this was anomalous.

That's interesting. So, we get to this page here.

Now they're getting an energy and a structure.

It's this reflective, metallic-feeling thing,

almost like a mirage.

A glowing blue color.

Very faint pinging sound. That's interesting.

POPE: This is a visual representation?

Visual representation, so...

- And it says "energy." - Energy, right.

Energy seems to be moving outward in many directions.

So I think what they're trying to do here

- is display the energy, the ball. - Right.

All right, you prepare to be weirded out here.

POPE: Okay.

And this subject is described as a crystal blue color.

It's angelic and floaty.

Wow.

POPE: So, is this a person? What is this?

VIVANCO: I'm not sure what this is.

This subject here, I mean, this-this is

clearly some sort of person, I mean, or is it?

I mean, if we're talking about something anomalous,

is the possibility here that if this was a UFO,

that this is some sort of occupant?

There is that possibility.

NARRATOR: An occupant?

Did this remote viewer actually see inside the object

that the field team witnessed from the ground?

And if so, could this confirm that what they saw

was an extraterrestrial spacecraft?

This remote viewer is also getting a subject here,

and they are calling this flash of light

a subject, which is curious.

And when you see this uppercase "P" and a lowercase "P,"

they mean that subject is a paraphysical,

which means, in remote viewing,

it is something outside of our 3D reality.

So this subject, according to this remote viewer,

is a flash of light on the mountain,

and this subject exists outside of our 3D reality.

- That is spooky. - Yeah.

I mean, we saw a flash of light on the mountain.

Are we saying here that this flashing light on the mountain,

and that these sessions suggest that this is,

like, something to do with extraterrestrials?

You know, all I can say is

what the remote viewers got.

And from my perspective...

- I think you've got a true anomaly there. - Wow.

NARRATOR: If what both the field team and the remote viewers observed was,

in fact, an extraterrestrial craft,

did it suddenly appear and then disappear

because it was entering our world

from another dimension?

And do the sketches made by the remote viewers

suggest that they may have perceived not only

this craft but even its occupants?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes...

...and suggest we may be close to becoming

interdimensional beings ourselves.

Soviet cosmonauts Oleg Atkov,

Leonid Kizim, and Vladimir Solovyov

send an odd and alarming transmission back to Earth.

They claim that seven enormous winged humanoid beings,

around 90 feet in height and emanating ethereal light,

suddenly appeared outside the space station.

They remained there for ten minutes

and then appeared to fade away.

I think that somewhere out there, there's a highway--

a highway containing the souls of millions of aliens

that are traveling across the galaxy

at the speed of light, looking at the wonders of the universe

at the maximum velocity allowed by Albert Einstein.

And if it's right next to us,

could we humans detect this superhighway?

No.

NARRATOR: But if alien entities are able to cross over

from their universe into ours,

how long will it be before we discover

how to cross over into theirs?

TZADOK: Right now contact between dimensions is limited.

Right now we're in exile from one another.

But the future is to bring the worlds together

The only way we're going to get there is if

we understand the laws of physics differently.

Or if we include new laws of physics

that combine the visible and the non-visible,

the physical and the nonphysical.

And approach reality from a multidimensional,

interdimensional perspective,

not from a linear perspective.
