I wanted to take a second
by showcasing these two images
and talking about image size
and what's the proper image size
for stock photography sites
let's be clear stock photography
sites are gonna give you the absolute
minimum of what you should upload
and my recommendation is you shouldn't really go
anything lower than 4,000 pixels
on either side of the image
the reason why I say that is because
at the end of the day we're competing with competitors
and we want the best quality for images
and if we go on Adobe Stock
there are some images with over 10000+ pixels
let's go ahead and click on this as an example
this image is 7,616 pixels
let's click on another one
this image is 4,003 68
this image is an EPS okay
let's click on this one alright
this image is 8,688
just clicking on random images that you've already seen
you seen one with 8,000 you seen one with 7,000
you seen one with 5,000
my point is that you'll fit right in at the low end
if you add images that are about 4,900 pixels
4,000 I really wouldn't go anything lower than 4,000
you might get photos that are accepted
that are lower than 4,000
but I can't recommend that in good conscience
because like I said
my goal is to have you create as many images possible
and get them approved and accepted
and part of the approval process is the quality of
that image and it's pretty impressive
when the image is really large and high quality
it's something that cannot be denied
and so therefore my recommendation to you is
nothing lower than 4,000 pixels on
either side of an image no matter if it's horizontal
no matter if it's a vertical okay
so if you're uploading a vertical image
that means it looks like an iPhone
if the image is longer in height than it is in width
I would not go anything lower than 4,000 in the width
if the width is smaller than the height okay
so nothing lower than 4,000 pixels
on either side of the image
anything lower than that you're just
you know you're really pushing it
I'm not saying that they won't accept you
but it's just not something that I could recommend
to my students because I wanna make sure my students
have the greatest chance of success
