[Borka] Winter is close and our food stores are empty.

[robber] We did have a lot hidden at the cave.

[Borka] I'll ride there at dawn.

Bye then, robber's daughter.

Bye, Borkason.

That was a long time for a few berries.

[Mattis] This is where he got in, that son of a dog.

[Birk gasps]

Where is it from? And don't lie to me, boy.

- Did you tell him it was from me? - No. I lied.

If Mattis finds out about this, he'll be absolutely furious.

Look what I caught with my own two hands.

And finally, my father's fortress will be free of the rest of this vermin.

- Give me my son now. - Leave my fortress.

[Ronja] You can't go around robbing people. It's wrong.

No!

So, Mattis, will you give me my boy back?

[Mattis] Come and get your son.

But you can't return a child to me.

I don't have one.

What have you done with her?

She saved my life. Several times.

And Birk has saved mine.

She's my sister.

[groans]

[Ronja] Birk!

Ronja...

Don't speak to me.

Oh, thank you for being alive.

Oh, poor child, I've been so worried about you.

Ronja...

So, we... we got her back.

Yes.

And Mattis? How long will he be staying in my room?

[Lovis] I'm in no hurry to have him back.

He seems happy there.

Happy? He mostly just sighs and stares.

[Lovis] Then let him.

- [Skully-Per] Okay. - [pounding]

Who has the next shift in Wolf Narrows?

We can do it.

We'll take the next shift in Wolf Narrows.

- We'll do it. - [Skully-Per] Yeah.

And the gate? Who takes the shift after Fyosok?

I can take it.

[Sturkas] I need help with the horses later.

Labbas, Chegge?

Yes.

What will the rest of us do?

Can't we go out robbing?

- Not without Mattis, you can't. - Mm.

- Yes, but does he have to know? - [Labbas] Shut your mouth.

Will you lie to him when he asks what we've been doing?

What? How long is he going to lie up there?

Staring into the ceiling, just because...

Just because of what?

[Birk] Why am I not allowed to go out?

Sit down.

Because I can't trust you.

Do you know that I was proud of you?

For a short while.

Stealing from Mattis,

that was imaginative, brave.

Then it turns out that she was giving you the food.

You couldn't even do that.

I lied.

No. I can live with a lie.

You went behind my back.

[chuckles] No.

Yes.
