[suspenseful music]
[music turns orchestral]
[music ends]
[inspirational music]
[inspirational music continues]
[music fades]
[suspenseful music]
[man 1 grunts]
[chain breaks]
-[man 2 grunts] -[heavy breathing]
[suspenseful music continues]
[Morgan] At last.
And now,
for Excalibur!
[thunder rumbles]
[narrator] These are the days of King Arthur.
Peace and prosperity rule the known world.
Only one country remains locked in the throes of barbarism,
Thule, home of the Vikings,
and King Arthur's banished sister, Morgan Le Fey.
A band of Viking raiders
sets out across The Northern Sea.
Armed with Merlin's spellbook
and Morgan's knowledge of secret passageways,
they head towards the fortified city of Camelot...
...where the chosen knights of Britain
are celebrating their annual joust.
A perfect day to sneak into the deserted Round Room...
...and steel Arthur's one symbol of power and unity...
...the sword Excalibur.
For whoever wields the sword
can rule the world.
[groaning]
[horse neighs]
[crowd cheering]
[Valiant] Sir Gawain, are you alright?
[Gawain] Help me up. [groans]
[soft music]
[Arn] For you, my darling Ilene.
Does my fiancรฉe desire more,
-or do we have enough of this slaughter? -Mm.
[grunts]
Tell the king...
...I'm ready to f--
-[groans] -[crowd oohing]
[women gasp]
[gentle music]
[ominous horse neighing]
Sir Gawain?
He's fine.
We, we just need a moment to fix his armor.
[man 3] Round two!
-[Valiant] Come on! -[crowd cheers]
[orchestral music playing]
[Arn] Ugh, what nonsense is this?
[handcart squeaking]
[suspenseful music]
[door creaking]
[guard] Wait, what's going on--
-[metallic clash] -[guard groans]
[music swells]
[Thagnar] Excalibur.
[people cheering]
[Gawain coughing]
-Val, let me back out there now. -[Valiant] Leave us.
Sir Gawain, Prince Arn will kill you.
[scoffs] Kill?
What has death got to do with it?
-This is a matter of honor. -[thuds]
[rising fun music]
[motivational music]
[metal clinking]
[Valiant] For you, Sir Gawain.
Is it possible we may conclude this farce before sunset? Mm?
[crowd cheering]
[dramatic music]
[Valiant softly] I must be mad.
-[grunting] -[man 4] ...Sir Gawain.
Yeah.
-Okay, bring him down. -[Valiant grunting]
[squire] Hold on, Sir Gawain.
[straining]
-[crowd gasps] -[man 5 in crowd] Oh, wow!
[suspenseful music]
[crowd clapping]
[Valiant] Come on, then.
[horse slobbers]
[music intensifies]
Strike!
[cheering]
[laughs]
When he wins too easily, he becomes so pompous. [chuckles]
[soldiers chattering]
[tense music]
[soldiers laughing]
[dramatic music]
[horse neighs]
[Arn] Please.
Which of you Vikings
wants the first dance?
Ah, the opposition.
[tense music]
-[Arn] Do you surrender? -[Valiant] Never!
[dramatic music]
Come on. [chuckles] Come on!
[screaming]
[horse neighs]
[triumphant music]
-[men grunting] -[swords clashing]
[Arn groaning]
[Valiant panting]
[tense music]
[Arn grunting]
-[men grunting] -[swords clashing]
[Valiant] Don't step over the line!
[Arn panting]
[both grunting]
[Valiant] Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh!
Your baldric's undone.
-What? -[Valiant] Sucker!
-[Arn groans] -[crowd cheers]
[Arn] You broke my bloody nose!
[Valiant] You would have broken my bloody neck.
Hold on. [panting] You're not--
-[men grunting] -[swords clashing]
[knight 1 screaming]
[scream in distance]
Knight's, to your marks!
[tense music]
[Arthur] My sword.
[Arn] Tartan.
It's the Scots. It's the bloody Scots!
[dramatic music]
Assemble a council of war.
[Arthur] And fighting men?
[man 6] On loan to foreign allies, mostly.
Without Excalibur,
our allies and our enemies alike
will think of us as powerless.
I have men assembled at Wrexham.
Archers, horsemen, cavalry!
Maybe 300.
I could beat the Scottish board in two days.
I commission 200 horsemen.
And me, 100 infantry.
150 spearmen!
100 archers!
-200 archers! -[knight 2] 150 horsemen!
-[knight 3] 100 men at arms! -[knight 4] 50 axmen!
-[knocking] -[Ilene] Sir Gawain?
Yes. Who may that be?
It's Lady Ilene of Branwyn.
I cannot receive visitors.
[door creaks]
[Ilene] Oh, please, my lord,
I, I depart so soon.
[thud, clattering]
Surely you can spare a maiden a few moments.
I just wanted to--
Sir Gawain?
I just wanted to say how I admired your skills today.
It was nothing, really.
No, it--
It takes a shrewd warrior
to unseat my intended.
[chuckles]
And I, I admire courage.
In truth, it's long been a dream of mine to--
No, you...
You'd only laugh.
Would I?
[clears throat] Would I?
[gasps]
I want to be a knight and I want you to teach me how.
[gentle music]
They, they say that the tribes in the north
pray to powerful women warriors.
-I've heard tales of women who are-- That-- -[footsteps approaching]
I'm sorry, my lady.
[Ilene] It's alright.
I must prepare myself for my journey.
I-- I'm sorry to have disturbed you, Sir Gawain.
Sir Gawain, the king would like to see you
-in his chambers right away. -[gasps]
-[Valiant] I think I can explain. -What I want to know is
how a squire manages to defeat
one of the most skilled knights
-in all of Britain. -Luck?
So how bad is it with Sir Gawain?
-[Valiant] Bad. -And I have a problem.
With all my able knights marching to Scotland,
I have none left to undertake
one other important mission in my name.
Do you feel worthy enough to accept it?
-[Valiant] Me, sire? -Yes.
You are going to help me with the lady Ilene.
Whatever it takes, my liege.
I'm afraid it will take a little deception.
Lady Ilene, this is Sir Gawain.
-[Valiant clears throat] -He will see you safely delivered to your homestead.
Sir Gawain, of course.
How fortuitous to be escorted by such a knight?
[soft music]
[Valiant] Put them outside.
[music intensifies]
[music turns dramatic]
[horses neighing]
[narrator] "Thus Valiant, disguised in Gawain's armor,
sets out to escort Princess Ilene
to the safety of her father's castle in Wales.
While unbeknownst to him,
across the murky waters of the medieval sea,
the true thieves of Excalibur sail home
having succeeded in their plan.
Arthur and his knights mistakenly believed
the Scots have stolen Excalibur.
Soon the Viking raiders await the drawbridge of Thule Castle...
...home to Sligon the Usurper."
[drawbridge opens]
[suspenseful music]
[woman 1 gasps]
You? You're still alive.
Thank you for your concern, dear brother.
[rumbling]
[gears spinning]
Excalibur!
Now the world is mine.
[grunting]
Ha! Ha! Ha!
[grunting, laughing]
Ahh.
En garde.
[electric crackling]
It is spelled!
Nonsense! Superstitions are for the worse.
[straining]
[Morgan] Not you!
Him!
It can only be removed by a true king.
Well, king Sligon of Thule.
Mm. Of course.
[suspenseful music]
[grunting]
[Sligon] Ahh! Just leave it there.
-It makes for quite a conversation. -No!
This sword is blessed by the gods of Avalon,
protected by the Lady of the Lake.
This is my brother's power.
This is what is written.
Then maybe you should learn to read better.
If there is another who can pull it from the stone,
then my mirror will reveal it.
[Thagnar] Come down, brother!
-[ominous noise] -[Morgan gasps]
-[electric buzz] -[Morgan gasps]
But the Phoenix is the crest of Gawain of Orkney!
Gawain's no king, is he?
Still, my magic never lies!
Get me that man!
[calm music]
[birds chirping]
[horses neighing]
[Valiant clears throat]
Aren't you hot in that armor?
-[Valiant] What makes you say that? -You've got sweat
-pouring out of your ankles. -[chuckles]
The knight's job is never comfortable.
One must always be prepared.
[Ilene] Oh, I totally agree.
Tell me more.
About?
Being a knight.
[Valiant] Well, every man has a duty
to serve his king and country.
-[sighs] -[Valiant] But beyond that,
a knight is born to defend higher ideals.
Honor, justice, freedom.
To make the world a safer place
and in doing so, hope that he becomes obsolete.
It's quite beautiful.
[Valiant] Really?
Now imagine what it must be like
never to be allowed to feel the things which you spoke.
[Valiant] Oh, I can.
Believe me, I can.
Giddy up!
[inspirational music]
[Valiant] You seem worried, sergeant. Do you fear bandits?
I'm afraid of no one, man, sir.
But this is Wargrave Forest,
home of the Jabberwocky.
Fiercest dragon in all of England.
-[thud] -[both groan]
[dramatic music]
[horse neighing]
[Valiant] Lady Ilene!
[Valiant] Whoever took Lady Ilene cannot have gotten far.
What are you waiting for?
Shhh! Jabberwocky!
[Valiant] I haven't yet met a dragon
that needed trickery to catch a maiden.
Now move! Spread out!
Spread out!
[soft suspenseful music]
[Valiant] Lady Ilene!
[dramatic music]
Jabberwocky!
[panting]
[soft tense music]
[playful music]
[high-pitched squeal]
[soft tense music]
[Valiant whispering] Lady Ilene.
[Boltar] You should feel lucky.
At least I let your friends disappear with their gold.
[Ilene] Unshackle me and you'll see how lucky you are!
-[grunts] -[Boltar laughing]
[Valiant] Unhand those women!
I think you have it the other way around, lad.
[Valiant] Whichever way, you heard me.
Ah, knight checks king.
However, king takes knight.
-[clicks] -[arrow whizzing]
[screaming]
-[Valiant groans] -[clattering]
-[Boltar grunts] -[thud]
-[Ilene gasps] Put me down! -[Boltar laughing]
I always fancied a human cloak.
-[Boltar grunts] -[thud]
[groans, panting]
[dramatic music]
[Boltar grunting]
-[Ilene screams] -[Valiant groans]
[Ilene groaning]
[Boltar] Catch me if you can, metal boy!
[Valiant groaning]
[thuds]
Ugh! [groans]
Hmm!
It was you all along.
-I knew it. -I can explain.
The king sends me to my death with a serf.
-A squire. -Sir Gawain's...
...whatever.
You remembered.
No, I didn't.
I mean, yes.
I mean... [scoffs] why wouldn't I?
Because there were a hundred other squires at that joust.
[Ilene groans]
Are you hurt?
Physical pain is the least of my problems.
Oh! [groans]
[birds chirping]
[calm music]
Princess Ilene, are you alright?
[Ilene] Ugh!
What sorcery is this?
[Ilene gasps, groans]
[Valiant] Not sorcery, debauchery.
[soldier 1] Are you alright, Princess Ilene?
[Ilene] Leave me alone.
-[groans] -[Valiant] She's fine.
[narrator] "The stranger seems shocked to see the red stallion amulet.
dangling from the young knight's neck.
A symbol he seems all too familiar with.
[horse neighing]
Meanwhile, back in Camelot,
the wounded Sir Gawain has heard of Valiant's delay."
[Gawain grunting]
Gawain, you're in no condition to ride,
let alone to fight.
With all due respect sir,
you read the message from Branwyn.
Val hasn't arrived, I trained that boy.
He wouldn't delay without serious cause.
I have to help him if I can.
[thunder rumbling]
[Valiant and soldier greet]
Do you want me to look at it?
Squire, knight, doctor.
Is there no end to your talents?
[Valiant] I lay no claims on talent, my lady,
but I have, by necessity,
been trained in the basics of medicine.
[gentle music]
No touching.
I am a princess after all
and I'm to be married to a real prince.
Real because he's honorable,
or real because he is titled?
[gasps] Don't.
[groans]
Maybe.
Anywhere else?
You must admit he's handsome.
The most handsome man in all of England.
Who?
Prince Arn, my fiancรฉ.
Oh, him.
And here.
He's very...
...very well dressed.
And...
[intense breathing]
And educated.
It's not broken.
-Excuse me? -Your leg.
It should be fine. It's just badly bruised.
Oh. Hmm.
You should get some rest.
We leave here at first light.
Valiant, it was you in Gawain's armor at the joust, wasn't it?
Gawain is like a brother to me.
I had to protect his honor.
And disfigure my fiancรฉ's face in doing so.
[laughs]
I'm sorry.
We'd better get some sleep.
[music intensifies]
[Ilene] I don't recognize that as a British crest.
I was orphaned as a young boy.
Raised by priests in a village outside Camelot.
And they knew nothing of your parents, your family?
I was brought there by a man from a faraway place.
He told them I was valiant, and that became my name.
[chuckles]
This and my honor are all I've ever had.
It's an honorable man who would win a joust for a knight
of the Round Table.
Prince Arn would never do anything so selfless.
Perhaps in some ways, it's a blessing to have grown up poor.
[Valiant] Hmm.
[gentle music]
[birds calling]
[horse neighing]
[Ilene] We're almost there.
Branwyn is just over these hills.
[gentle music resumes]
[Ilene gasps] Look, it's Douglas.
He's Father's first in command.
He, he's the one who taught me how to ride and write.
You really must meet him.
No one can ever know.
My mission is complete.
Goodbye, my Princess.
[gentle music]
[Valiant] Move it out.
[suspenseful music]
[grim laughter]
[dramatic music]
[horse slobbering]
-[arrow whizzing] -[gasps]
[horse neighing]
[soldiers screaming]
[horse neighing]
[arrows whizzing]
[Valiant] Lady Ilene, take cover.
[all screaming]
[dramatic music continues]
[Valiant groans]
[soldier 2 grunts]
[Ilene grunting]
[screaming]
[soldier 2 grunting]
[horse neighing]
-[soldier 3 screams] -[Valiant groans]
-[horse neighing] -[Ilene screams]
[Ilene groans]
[Ilene groans]
[panting] Bravo!
And now,
I would like you to come to Thule
and help me with Excalibur.
You? You Vikings stole Excalibur!
Very good, Gawain of Orkney.
-Very good. -He isn't Sir Gawain, you stupid brute.
Don't listen to her. She's only saying that to protect me.
-[distant screams] -[Ilene] See?
[soldiers screaming]
[swords clashing]
Who are your friends, Val? [grunts]
Grab them!
[soldiers screaming]
Look out!
[Valiant grunting]
[dramatic music continues]
[men grunting and groaning]
[horse neighing]
[both grunting]
[panting]
-[weapons clashing] -[soldier 4 screams]
-[Ilene grunting] -[soldier 4 groans]
[Valiant gasps, grunts]
[Valiant groaning]
-[Valiant screaming] -[gasps]
[both grunting and groaning]
[panting]
-[Thagnar] The real Sir Gawain? -I take it this isn't a social thing.
-[Thagnar] Shut up! Shut up! -[thud]
Move!
[burbling]
[gasps]
Valiant?
Valiant!
[panting heavily]
[bubbling]
[melancholic music]
[music turns gentle]
[thuds]
Valiant?
[Ilene grunting]
Valiant?
[music intensifies]
-[horse neighs] -[gasps]
Father.
[regal music]
[Thane] If the Vikings have Excalibur,
they'll have the power to invade Britain.
[Valiant] Especially if we keep fighting amongst ourselves.
[Thane] My scouts have reported.
The Viking ship off Merrion Cove in Norfolk.
[Ilene] What of Sir Gawain?
-What do they want of him? -I intend to find that out as well.
First I must write to Scotland and stop this senseless war.
I wish I could help more.
But I can't be sending troops into England.
Then let me go, Father.
Daughter!
Take this with you.
Give it to Prince Arn. He won't believe you without it.
Prince Arn.
I'd forgotten about him.
So have I.
[armor creaking]
Could I borrow some armor?
I think this is beginning to rust.
[music swells]
[narrator] "Valiant rides north to prevent war,
praying that Sir Gawain can survive his barbarian captors
long enough for him to summon help.
On the border between north and south,
English and Scottish armies
prepare for dawn's bloody rising."
[soft tense music]
[Arn] Blocked roads?
Bad weather?
I don't want to hear any more excuses.
Arthur has ordered us to crush the Scots.
And until they surrender Excalibur,
that is exactly what we are going to do.
[announcer] Sir, a rider has come from Branwyn with news.
Don't tell me the Welsh need a slapping as well.
[knight 5] All we need is trouble in the west.
You must call off the battle!
The Scots have been falsely accused!
[all laughing]
I'm telling the truth!
And Arthur lies?
Have we not crossed paths somewhere before?
I'm squire to Sir Gawain.
Oh, now you come here to command my army.
Princess Ilene of Branwyn gave me this.
She said you would know I speak truth.
What have you done with her?
She's safe at home in Branwyn!
-No! -[Valiant] You must listen!
Our quarrel is not with the Scots,
but with the Vikings!
And they've kidnapped Sir Gawain.
-Kidnapped, you say? -[Valiant] Yes.
And I know where they must be moored.
We can still beat them to their ships.
-[knight 5] I could ready some men. -[Arn] No!
He's lying. I know it.
He's a Scottish spy!
Ilene would never have removed that ring.
[knight 5] Shouldn't we at least inform Arthur?
[Arn] After I've killed this traitor, maybe.
I accept.
-What? -A duel.
A duel?
You challenged me. It's my right, is it not?
You have no rights here, boy. This is a military camp.
Are you afraid of me?
[laughs]
The lad has balls.
I don't believe this.
Afraid I might break your nose again?
You!
-[swords clashing] -[men cheering]
[both grunting]
[Arn] Hyah!
[swords clashing]
[both grunting]
Give me that pike!
[grunting]
-[Valiant groans] -[people cheering]
Ha!
A might unfair. Excuse me.
Here, lad. Catch!
[Valiant grunts]
[dramatic music]
Come on.
[groans]
[both scream, groan]
[both grunting]
Finish it then!
[Valiant] I came here for your support.
Not your blood.
[tense music]
[regal music]
[birds chirping]
[calm music]
[Ilene] Ready me our fastest horse, William.
But your father left me strict--
Please.
[horse neighing]
[dramatic tense music]
[Valiant] They can't leave before the next tide.
Gawain must be in the tent.
So you weren't lying.
Why would I lie?
As a man of honor, Valiant, you owe me an answer.
Did you ask the Princess for her ring,
or did she volunteer it?
She did offer it.
Why?
Because she vowed to me she would never remove it...
...unless she ever questioned whether I was the man
she truly loved or not.
[Valiant] But you are betrothed.
[Arn] I could never marry a woman who didn't love me in return.
[Gawain grunting]
[tense music]
Come on.
[clattering]
Who is this? [grunts]
-Lady Ilene? -Let's go.
-[Gawain] Nice chain mail. -[Ilene] Thanks.
[Gawain] I don't know who's crazier.
You or young Val.
Get back!
-Sir Gawain? -Valiant?
-Ilene? -Prince Arn?
-Sir Gawain. -Sir Gawain.
-What are you doing here? -What are you doing here?
[Gawain] I'm attempting a rescue.
[hoses neighing]
You gave him my ring.
I meant to tell you.
Could we take this somewhere else, please?
-What's the plan? -[Arn] Plan?
These Norsemen are so drunk you could drive out cattle of their midst.
-Sorry. -[Ilene] Thank you.
[soldiers shouting]
[dramatic music]
I think we have a problem.
[shouts getting louder]
Any other suggestions?
[gasps]
[men grunting]
[yells]
[groans]
-[soldier 5 screams, laughs] -[choking]
-[grunts] -[soldier 5 groans]
[groans, pants]
Valiant!
No! No! It's too late!
It's too late!
[dramatic music]
[soldiers screaming]
[soldier 6 screams]
[Ilene grunting]
[indistinct screaming]
[Thagnar] Move! Move!
Get in there, you cowards!
Get in there!
[both grunting]
[groaning]
[choking]
How do you want to die this time?
Old age?
[Valiant screaming]
Yeah!
[narrator] "Having killed Prince Arn
and thrown Valiant into the abyss,
Thagnar begins his journey back to Thule
with his two prisoners, Princess Ilene and Sir Gawain.
Little does he know it's not Gawain he needs
to pull the sword from the stone.
As the sun rises over the southern beaches of England,
we find a small figure
washed ashore by the morning tide."
[melancholic music]
[people chattering]
-Come here! -[thud]
[clattering]
[people screaming, cheering]
[Pechet grunting]
[all cheering]
[grunting]
...sake.
[man 7 laughing]
-[groans] -[thud]
This is my master.
Master Roman.
That's right.
And I don't appreciate this treatment of my squire.
[crowd oohing, laughing]
[thud]
[mockingly] "I don't appreciate the treatment of my squire."
[crowd cheering]
Remove your hand, sir.
[all cheering]
Any rules?
Good.
-[tears] -[thud]
[all laughing]
[grunting]
-[swords clashing] -[both grunting]
[crowd cheering]
[lively folk music]
Aha!
Oh!
[Valiant] You?
You should be in prison paying for your crimes.
Come and have an ale with me.
What brings you to this coastal town?
Looking for you, actually.
Which is an easy job.
You leave a trail like a Tuscan leper.
What makes you so interested in me?
-Call it curiosity. -Hmm.
I'm curious as well.
How can I get to Thule tonight?
I know how a merchant vessel going to Thule.
Doesn't come cheap though.
[coins drop]
This should be enough for the both of us.
Both of us?
Why would you want to go to Thule?
My name is Pechet.
You called me your squire.
Then so be it.
[Pechet laughs]
[ominous music]
[panting] I demand to see your king.
Harem.
[Gawain] What? You can't do that with her!
She's a princess! [grunts]
Who the hell is Harem?
[groans]
-I wonder if she's a virgin. -[both chuckle]
Of course I'm a virgin.
I'm Princess Ilene of Branwyn.
[woman 2] We all had kingdoms once.
Now we are all just queens for a night.
I am Monday.
I am Tuesday.
I'm Wednesday.
[Ilene grunting]
And you're Thursday.
[somber tense music]
That's today.
He wouldn't dare touch a princess.
Would he?
Never. I'd no more help you win Excalibur
than the devil himself.
[Sligon] The devil?
The heir to Thule, a Christian?
Your father must be rolling in his pyre.
Maybe he'll be more eager to help when I start
-pruning back his toenails. -[Morgan] Leave me alone with Gawain.
I'm sure I can persuade him.
[Thagnar] I say, we kill them both
and be done with it!
He has a point, my dear.
[Morgan] Oh, don't let us be hasty.
Behind every great king, there is a sorcerer.
[Thagnar] We don't need her to figure this out.
[Gawain heaving]
[grunts]
[Morgan] Huh?
[suspenseful music]
[metallic wheezing]
-[thud] -What have you done?
He was useless.
I told you there was no other heir to Thule.
I saw him in the vision!
We all did!
[Sligon] You didn't have to kill him.
[Thagnar] Oh, come on.
[eerie horse neighing]
[ominous music]
What is it?
Another vision?
[birds calling]
[clattering]
Red stallion.
[rising suspenseful music]
Impossible!
You told me you'd slaughter them!
Every last one!
Then one must have gotten away.
[calm music]
What did I tell you?
Passage to Thule.
[Valiant] You conveniently left out the part
about rowing ourselves.
[Pechet] Ugh. Oh, terra firma.
How far to this Sligon's castle?
We'll need horses.
Let's go borrow some.
Borrow?
Borrow?
This isn't Camelot.
[dramatic music]
[men grunting and speaking indistinctly]
-Good dog. -Come here. Come here.
[horse neighing]
[wolf howling]
[suspenseful music]
[Valiant] Where are we?
This isn't the castle.
[imitates bird call]
[distant howling]
Boltar, you have returned.
[Boltar] Yes, I have, Father.
And I bring you...
...Valiant.
[gentle music]
Who are these people?
You may have forgotten us, young Valiant...
...but we sure remember you.
Come.
Get away! Get away!
[Erik] Free people of Thule,
gather round.
[Erik] During the terrifying days
when Sligon was waging war against his own people...
-[swords clashing] -....your father, King Aguar,
ordered me to take you,
his only surviving heir, into hiding.
I was wounded in a furious battle
but thank the gods, my son Boltar
managed to escape with you to England
where he left you in the monastery.
I told Boltar to leave you with the amulet
knowing that one day you would seek out your past
and liberate your people.
This was your Father's.
[gentle music continues]
[Erik] People of free Thule...
...the Red Stallion has returned!
That's better.
[laughing]
-[all laughing] -[Ilene] No, wait. Wait. No, no.
No, no, no. Great, great.
I can do this myself.
-[woman 3] What a shame! -[woman 4] Oh.
[women giggling]
What in Asgard's name are you doing?
[Thagnar] I borrowed the witch's book.
There are some interesting facts
she didn't want to bore us barbarians with.
[Sligon] Give me the book!
"Once the usurper..."
That would be you. "...dies,
he starts his own royal lineage,
red blood to blue blood, with the next in line."
That would be me.
[water splashing]
[rumbling]
[Ilene panting]
[Thagnar] Even if you could, it's all from the story.
You're weak, big brother.
-[Ilene grunting] -[Thagnar] Weak and old.
[Sligon] Just because you cut people down
doesn't make you a ruler.
Makes you a murderer!
You think my people
accept you as king?
[Sligon scoffs]
I don't give them that choice.
[Sligon grunting]
[dramatic music]
[both grunting]
[groans]
[groaning]
[sword sheathing]
[dramatic music intensifying]
[electric buzzing]
All this death has made me lonely.
Fetch me the princess.
For tomorrow we go to war.
[knocks on door]
[knocking]
Open up! It's time!
[door unlocks, opens]
Shall we get this over with?
[Valiant grunts]
Shit! The prince is in!
-[laughing] -[man 8 whispering]
[liquid bubbling]
-[Thagnar] Drink? -[gasps, chuckles]
With a barbarian like yourself?
-Never. -But you're mistaken, my little Princess.
I'm no barbarian. I am now... a king.
By right of birth
or death?
To Thursdays. Mm?
You Vikings are such romantics.
[hook latching]
[Valiant grunting]
-[exhales, groans] -Speaking of which--
[groans]
Isn't it a little cold to be romantic?
Mm?
[shivers]
[soft playful music]
[gasps]
[lever scraping]
-Better? -Uh!
If I'm going to let you touch me,
it's not going to be sober.
-Mm? -[Thagnar chuckles softly]
-[glasses clink] -Drink.
Cheers to that.
[increasing tense music]
[groaning]
[Thagnar choking]
[Thagnar shouts] Guard!
[choking, spitting]
-[Valiant grunts] -[soldiers snoring]
[tense music]
[Morgan] I've been expecting you.
Who is my benefactor?
You're Morgan Le Fey...
...King Arthur's banished sister.
What's it to you?
You're a Viking, not a Briton.
Where are Sir Gawain and Ilene?
Help me...
...and together we will find them.
I don't negotiate with traitors.
Oh, guards!
Back to sleep.
[magical chime]
What is it you want?
Your enemies are my enemies.
And that makes us...
...allies.
Together we can defeat this pretender
and rescue Excalibur.
The kingdom of Thule lies at your feet,
like a treasure trove.
And all you have to do is to kill Thagnar.
What's in this for you?
Why...
...I would be your queen.
Don't you see I'm cursed?
I can only destroy.
Never create.
That's why I need you...
...the purest bloodline to the throne.
Your innocence...
...my evil.
The perfect balance.
The perfect marriage.
I can give you everything you truly seek...
...and more.
[Morgan's voice continues] Together we can be love...
...and hate.
Just kiss me.
[rattling noise]
[groans] Oops!
[sword drops]
[hissing]
Valiant!
[soft music]
-Ilene! -What were you doing with her?
[Valiant] I was looking for you!
It didn't look like it from here.
Where's Sir Gawain?
[door opens]
Quick! Get Excalibur!
Yah!
[dramatic music]
[clattering]
-[gears squeak] -[lever activates]
[Valiant] Whoa!
-[soldier 7] Whoa! -[Valiant grunting]
[panting]
-[Valiant grunts] -[Ilene grunts]
-[thud] -[Thagnar groans]
There's only room for one queen of Thule.
-[blows] -[magical chime]
[gasps, groaning]
-Ah? -Achoo!
[heavy breathing]
Hay fever.
-[Ilene gasps] -[Morgan screaming]
[screams continue]
[shrieking]
[debris and dirt crashes]
[shrieking]
-[explosion] -[glass shatters]
[Morgan] I'll get you for this!
[yelling]
[dramatic music continues]
-[grunting] -[chicken clucking]
-[panting] -[explosion]
[chicken clucking nervously]
We have to stop meeting like this.
[Ilene grunts]
[chicken clucking]
[Ilene panting]
Who are you?
Son of Aguar.
Last survivor of the Red Stallion clan of Thule.
So you were the one all along?
Well, Stallion,
let's hope my pets
have a liking for horse meat.
[liquid bubbling]
[Ilene grunting softly]
I've got an idea.
[alligator roars]
[tense music]
[Ilene] How about a miracle instead?
[Boltar] Still no sign from Valiant.
I'm going in.
-With this thing? -I've had plenty of practice.
Ready?
All right, on three now.
One...
...two...
...three!
[Pechet screaming]
[dramatic music]
[door breaks open]
[chicken clucking]
-[Ilene grunting] -That's it! Swing! And back.
[both grunting]
[Ilene grunts]
[rope fraying]
-[Valiant] Getting closer! -[Ilene grunting]
[alligator bellows]
[Ilene grunting]
-Now what? -I don't know.
I only figured it out this far.
[rope fraying]
[soft suspenseful music]
[sniffles, groans]
Qualudium.
[somber music]
Valiant.
[alligators roaring]
Yeah?
I never told you...
...but I had a dream about us.
That we eloped.
Eloped?
Ran away.
To a far-off place where every man was a prince,
every woman, a princess.
Because I love you, Valiant.
I have since the moment we met.
You have?
With all my heart.
-There's something I haven't told you. -[sighs]
-[rope snaps] -[both screaming]
-[growling] -[screams]
[magical chime]
-Uh? -Aw, kinda cute, aren't they? Ha!
Pechet!
Faithful squire at your service.
Found a bottle of this.
One should never leave drugs lying around.
[laughing]
Hurry Stallion, I'll meet you at the door.
They're waking up! Go!
[alligators roaring]
[dramatic music]
-[Valiant] Open the door! -[Ilene] Let us out!
[screaming]
Excuse me.
[roaring]
Bad boy.
Yours?
-Thanks. -Good luck, sir.
[Valiant] Come on.
[Boltar] Time to attack, lads.
It's now or never.
[explosion]
[loud thud]
[all screaming]
[dramatic music continues]
[panting]
[tense music]
[Valiant] Hey, baldie!
-[arrow whizzing] -Ahh!
Valiant!
[soldiers screaming]
[swords clashing]
[men grunting and groaning]
[swords clashing]
[alligator roaring]
Ooh!
[grunts]
[screaming]
How fitting.
Only kings remain.
There's only one king here.
Any rules?
-Who dies first loses. -Good.
[swords clashing]
[both grunting]
[Thagnar grunting]
[Valiant groans]
[tense music]
-[Valiant grunts] -[Thagnar groans]
[both grunting]
[Thagnar groans]
[screaming]
[Thagnar groaning]
[thudding]
[grinning]
[bubbling]
[alligator growling]
[fireworks exploding]
-[screams] -[fireworks exploding]
[triumphant music]
[tense music]
-[Thagnar grunting] -[fireworks exploding]
[screams]
[Valiant screams]
[Thagnar grunting]
[fireworks shooting]
[soldiers screaming]
[both grunting]
-[both grunting] -[man 9] Hey!
[both grunt]
[man 10] Thagnar!
-[thud] -[man 10] Oh!
You're right, boy.
There's only one king here.
[groaning]
Valiant! [groans]
[all gasping]
No! [panting]
[tense music]
Oh, no!
No!
I am Thagnar the Invincible!
Give me strength!
[dramatic music]
[all cheering]
[groans]
[music and cheering stops]
[thud]
[melancholic music]
[sobbing]
She cannot die.
I'm Prince Valiant,
but I am nothing without my love.
You cannot give me my soul and then take away my heart.
Grant her life
and I shall give mine in return.
Answer me, my God...
...or forever inherit an enemy!
Answer me!
[music intensifying]
[magical chime]
[Ilene mumbles]
[groaning]
-[soldier 8] Valiant! -[soldier 9] Valiant!
-[soldier 10] Valiant! -[soldier 11] Valiant!
[all cheering]
[gentle music]
[all] Valiant! Valiant! Valiant!
[men continue cheering]
[narrator] "Back in Camelot, feeling abandoned
by the powers of Excalibur,
King Arthur is about to make a fateful decision."
I hereby hand over command
of the Britain Isles to one of you.
My dream of Camelot has failed.
The seal.
[suspenseful music]
[men whispering]
[music intensifies]
[door explodes open]
[dramatic music]
[horse neighing]
[soft suspenseful music]
[Boltar] Go on, lad.
[soft music]
I, Prince Valiant...
...true heir to the throne of Thule,
would like to return this,
the sword Excalibur, and offer...
...lasting peace
between our two nations.
You know, uh, something like that.
England gladly accepts such a generous offer...
...and asks,
"What can we do in return?"
Your blessing for a Viking
to marry a young Welsh princess...
...who he has fallen deeply in love with.
Of course.
[sighs loudly]
[orchestral music]
[all cheering]
-Prince Valiant! -Prince Valiant!
-Prince Valiant! -Prince Valiant!
[narrator] Having victoriously returned peace
to his newfound country
and Excalibur to England,
Prince Valiant is knighted by Arthur
and made one of the Round Table.
It is here that his further adventures begin.
[music fades]
[gentle music]
* Long ago a little child *
* Dreamed about a gallant knight *
* It's funny how the dream comes true *
* That gallant knight was you *
* I've watched you for so many years *
* I've heard you laugh *
* I've felt your tears *
* I've seen your lovers come and go *
* But none of them were true *
* Oh, can't you see *
* How much I need you? *
* Won't you believe *
* I need you too? *
* So *
* What are we waiting for? *
* What are we doin' here? *
* There's no one there beside you *
* There's no one knocking at my door *
* What are we waiting for? *
* Too much time has passed us by *
* What are we waiting for? *
* No one else could love you more *
* Than me *
* Yours was the first *
* Star I followed *
* Without you *
* There's no tomorrow *
* What are we waiting for? *
* What are we doin' here? *
* There's no one there beside you *
* There's no one knocking at my door *
-* At my door * -* What are we waiting for? *
* Too much time has passed us by *
* What are we waiting for? *
* No one else could love you more *
* Than me *
