[A Journey To Love]

[Episode 10]

Wait.

I want to try the carving knife you gave me.

Tell me, how does that Purple Emissaries

who scolded you look like?

He's not tall and has a round face.

His chin looks a little like Sun Lang's.

His eyes look like Ding Hui's.

He has thin eyebrows.

He likes to have his head raised.

♫The line across my palm, was because you♫

All right.

♫I hurt my hand during springtime♫

♫I don't know how to put it♫

♫The first turn around♫

♫I expect to see you there♫

♫I've had too much to drink♫

It's done

♫But I can't drink away my woes♫

How is it? Does it look like them?

♫I'm hopelessly in love♫

♫Drunk, I saw your eyes; dreaming, I had you in my arms♫

Actually, Yuan Lu didn't tell you this.

I'm really bad at sculpting.

♫Waking up sober, I only miss you more♫

I only know how to sculpt animals.

I wanted to carve a leopard for you.

♫You're God's gift to me♫

But looking at it now,

♫Your smile breaks up the dark like the light of dawn♫

it looks more like a cat.

♫You light up my world like a shooting star

This is why I felt embarrassed

to accept your knife just now.

I felt guilty.

♫You came a long way and still have a long way to go♫

But

I've counted for you.

It's 310 strokes.

♫No one knows your name♫

I'm returning it in 10 fold.

I've avenged you.

♫But everything you shed light on♫

This is for you

♫Will remember your radiance♫

Thank you.

The weather is dry. Beware of fire.

It's midnight.

Flowers bloom and wither. They do not last long.

Painting the ground red in this silent world.

I am Scarlet Guard Zhong Hupo from Tianji Branch.

Madam.

Since Mr. Yue died,

various branches have been dispersing.

I was injured.

I could only sneak into the State of Wu's delegation.

I finally got here

and found a marking of Yuheng Branch.

You sneaked into the State of Wu's delegation?

Tell me the details.

You are...

I'm Jiang Xiu, the deputy chief of Jumen Branch.

[Deputy chief of Scarlet Guards Jumen Branch Jiang Xiu]

When I was with Chief Liu in Huainan,

I saw you from afar.

Please allow me to report.

Go ahead.

When did you come in?

You only realized?

It's not like you.

Tell me, what happened?

You asked me to keep an eye on her

and now you're lovey-dovey with her,

walking around flowers and under the moon together.

Are you trying to make me blind

or did you not really notice that I was following you?

Ms. Yue saved my life,

but died in the hands of the villains.

I'm incompetent.

Please allow me to sacrifice my life to seek revenge for Ms. Yue.

No need.

You can stay in the delegation to find out more.

The headquarters attaches most importance to delgation.

In a few days, there will be a Red Emissary madam

who'd be coming personally.

You must find more useful information

so that you can give them an explanation.

Does that mean Ms. Yue died in vain?

She made so many contributions.

We've found out.

Ruyi is a police officer

from the State of Chu who sneaked into Wu Capital Branch.

The headquarters has sent Yuheng Branch to deal with it.

You don't have to interfere.

Ruyi...

Is a Chu police officer?

Yes.

Why would the headquarters think

I'm a Chu police officer?

That's just the identity

that Ning Yuanzhou made for me.

I deliberately left clues on

Yue Sanniang and Yu Lang's bodies,

using this as a bait for the mastermind behind the Wu Capital Branch massacre case

to investigate me.

No.

Did someone

erase the clues I left

and left signs that of a police officer's?

Who could it be?

It's Ning Yuanzhou?

Trust me to I have trusted him so much.

Liar.

Tell me. Why are you mute now?

I don't want to talk to you about this.

You're already 30.

Not 13.

Why are you not speaking your mind?

She's a Chu police officer.

Not a Scarlet Guard.

As long as she doesn't have blood of our brothers on her hands,

everyone will be over it in a few days.

If you really like her,

there's always a solution.

There are many things you don't understand.

-I know what to do– -Yeah, right.

Beauty is a good girl.

She's cold on the outside, warm on the inside and straightforward.

Besides being a little brutal,

she has no shortcomings.

You're leading her on

while using her.

Is that appropriate?

That's not appropriate.

I, Yu Shisan,

I hate to see young ladies suffer the most.

So you must tell me

whether you have feelings for her.

Otherwise,

it would be awkward for us.

I don't know how to get along with her anymore.

Fine.

I've lived for 30 years.

And I've seen a lot of women.

Concubines, Princesses, Ladies-in-waiting...

Enough of that.

Skip this part and just go to the "but."

But...

Ruyi is different from them.

She is like a leopard.

She doesn't know how to be shy

and doesn't want to hide it.

She goes and get what she wants.

And only she

can fight with me.

I've been used to

protecting women.

But only with her,

did I feel like I have been protected for the first time.

I still remember when we were at Tianxing Gorge,

she broke through the raining arrows

and blocked all the attacks behind me.

I still remember how it felt

to fight along side with her.

Although I was surrounded by enemies,

I felt at ease.

At that moment, I thought

I could

make mistakes

and let go of all worries too.

And just fight our way through without much thought

like when we were young.

I don't like what you said.

Haven't I fought alongside with you before?

Does our brothers not deserve your trust?

Aren't you my brothers?

Do you want to sleep with me too?

Anyway, you said so much

because you have feelings for her.

I know you well.

You're just stubborn.

Life is short.

Why are you

feeling conflicted about something like this

sighing in the middle of the night here?

You don't understand.

In one's life, there can be many moments their heart flutters for someone.

But they don't have to take action every single time.

The fact that she's a foreign spy aside,

she's too mysterious and unfamiliar.

It's too dangerous for our delegation.

If I have retired and live in the mountains,

I might still...

But now I have too many responsibilities on my shoulders.

I have the entire delegation to take care of

and send Ying to the State of An,

and clear the name of Heaven Path's brothers.

That's my priority.

As for her,

she's just a passer-by I casually brought.

After the trip to the State of An is over

and our deal is done,

we both have countless blood debts.

We might even

have to fight each other.

If that's the case,

why should we start?

What are you sighing?

Then why did you carve something for her?

Exactly.

Why did I?

Maybe I just don't want her to be disappointed.

Did you see her clumsy tricks?

She gave me flowers,

and a carving knife.

And had tea with me at night.

She told me all her tragedies

and made me pity her.

But these tricks

are clearly men's tactics against girls.

But she worked so hard

and was serious about it.

I tried to get information from her.

She only saw a man

did that to her cousin.

Her cousin fell for it.

So she also learned that

and expressed her feelings to a man.

I don't think that's the case.

Didn't she...

I think she knows

how men and women gets along.

She really doesn't know.

She doesn't even like children.

She had a benefactor who treated her very well.

Her dying wish

was for her to stop being a killing machine

and to have a child.

Ruyi always listens to her.

Children do mean a normal life.

It means there's someone to care for

and constraints.

That's why I don't want to get married.

Just thinking about how when I wake up every day,

I have to face the same face, I...

That benefactor

really cared about Beauty.

She really cared about her.

She wanted her to have a child.

But she told her

not to fall in love with men easily.

So Ruyi only wants a child.

As for me...

I just happened to be someone she's happy enough with.

Impossible.

She definitely likes you.

It's just that she doesn't know it yet.

Otherwise, why didn't she choose someone

as outstanding as me, but you?

Perhaps.

That's exactly why

I became weak.

But I promise I didn't use her.

Whether I keep an eye on her,

or follow her,

I did it for the safety of the delegation.

Sometimes,

I even want her to be happier.

Because her life was so hard before.

In her world,

there's nothing else other than

executing missions and taking revenge.

Let's not talk about this.

No man in the world

understands women better than me.

Anyway, you have to listen to me.

Don't be like how you are tonight.

Otherwise, you'll be trapped and unable to leave.

From now on,

you have to keep a distance from her.

We'll be good to her.

Like brothers.

Like brothers.

Come on.

No, you haven't recovered.

You can't drink.

Cut the crap.

I just want to get drunk today.

Otherwise, why is there wine in my room?

Here.

Tell me.

Can I trust him again,

one more time?

[The State of An, Yuzhou]

Congratulations on winning and your return, Your Majesty.

Long live Your Majesty!

Is this the King of Wu?

Yes, it's him.

Die!

Lord.

[Yuzhou, Palace]

Fortunately, I didn't let you down.

I have found out the details of the Wu delegation.

Ridiculous.

You only know the number of people in the delegation

and Prince Li's temperament.

How dare you claim to have found out the details?

You don't deserve to carry out any mission.

Do you see that?

You should be patrolling.

[Zhiyang Palace]

I didn't expect the high and mighty Scarlet Guard

would be sent to patrol the streets too.

Not just patrolling.

She was even scolded.

You...

You were the Right Emissary, but look at your state now.

Exactly.

You scums don't get to say that.

Watch your mouth.

How could you say that?

Brothers.

[Chu Yue, daughter of Duke Chu]

Don't waste your breath if you can fight.

Princess.

The Duke is still waiting for you in the palace

to meet His Majesty with you.

What are you doing?

Wang Jiu!

Greetings, Young Mistress.

You still know that you're a rascal from Shaxi Tribe

and that I'm your Mistress?

I do.

Then why do I see you bullying a woman

the moment I walked into the palace?

Young Mistress,

they are not ordinary women.

They are all Scarlet Guards.

What do you mean by they're not ordinary women?

I'm not an ordinary woman either.

Why? You dare to hit me now too?

I dare not.

You all came from Shaxi Tribe.

You know that Shaxi Tribe's

leader is a female general.

According to the tribe motto,

we should treat sisters like brothers.

You've forgotten everything.

Apologize now.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

What kind of attitude is that?

You feel wronged to apologize to her?

Let me tell you.

You Yulin Guards

are selected among Shaxi,

Shadong, and Shazhong.

The other two tribes are watching what you're doing.

Aren't you ashamed enough for

losing in the horse racing competition to Shazhong Tribe last year?

I didn't scold you

for you,

but for the dignity of the whole Shaxi Tribe.

Apologize properly.

I was wrong.

Apologies.

That's more like it.

Stand under the wall for an hour.

I'll buy you a drink tomorrow.

Yes.

Thank you, Your Highness.

It's harder for a woman to be an official than a man.

Don't take it to heart.

Goodbye.

[Scarlet Tribe Lu Geng]

I've long heard that Princess Jin Ming likes to wear riding clothes

and acts like a man.

But I didn't expect her to be like this.

But why did she suddenly stand up for us?

Her mother, Princess Anyang, once led the army.

She had to retire after marrying Duke Chu.

She's now in charge of 30% of the calvary slaves in the Shaxi Tribe.

Of course she knows better

what this official uniform means.

Greetings, Your Majesty.

Chu Yue!

[Duke Chu, Chu Yuan]

I haven't seen you in four to five years.

Look at you.

You grew so quickly.

You're different now.

Yes.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

But Your Majesty might mean

I used to look like a lady

but now I look like a lad.

Don't be rude.

Look at your temper.

You're really

like your mother.

I remember when she was young,

she loved wearing the riding clothes

like you.

But Chu Yue,

should we change it?

After all, you're a lady who's going to get married.

It's not proper

for you to be in riding clothes.

Your Majesty is going to bestow a marriage to me?

Smart.

Thank you, Your Majesty! Long live, Your Majesty!

You're thanking me already?

You haven't asked me

which good man I've arranged for you.

His Majesty won't randomly pick anyone

to be my husband.

I like her personality.

You should go greet your aunt first.

She will tell you in detail

what's going on.

Please excuse me.

Your Majesty...

won't be so petty as to just bestow only a marriage to me, right?

Isn't Your Majesty going to give me a gift?

You're not being courteous at all.

Then tell me

what you want.

Father only allowed me

to manage 30% of the cavalry slaves.

I want Your Majesty to give an order

to give half of the cavalry slaves to me.

Brother and I will each have half. That's fair.

Calvary slaves?

What do you need them for?

When Mother led the army

to fight for Your Majesty,

did Your Majesty ask why?

Don't be rude.

Enough.

I know

you are a slave to your daughter.

In front of me,

you only know how to say "don't be rude" in front of me.

You really can't control her?

Your Majesty,

Chu Yue was influenced by her mother.

She liked bows and horses since she was young.

She might even be

better than her brother.

But according to conventions,

the tribe's calvary slaves

can only belongs to the next heir.

So...

I see.

You also have your own difficulties.

You have your difficulties.

You have your difficulties.

How about I give you 300 of my

personal calvary slaves?

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Can Your Majesty give another decree?

To allow me to

be able to manage the calvary slaves by myself after marriage.

I don't have to give it to my husband.

Well...

Thank you, Your Majesty! Long live, Your Majesty!

You are...

executing it first and before you report.

I'll approve of that..

I shall take my leave.

Please forgive me, Your Majesty.

With Chu Yue's temper,

when she becomes the queen,

I don’t know how many troubles she will make.

So I'm marrying her off to Marquis Changqing.

Marquis Changqing?

Greetings, Aunt.

Chu Yue, you're here.

Aunt, what's wrong?

Why do you look so sad?

It's nothing.

Maybe I didn't sleep well

from the journey.

His Majesty is giving you a marriage.

Do you know?

You're worried about the marriage His Majesty has bestowed upon me?

What's there to worry about?

Although Prince Luoxi

is not smart,

he's not that bad.

Not a prince,

but Marquis Changqing.

What?

Marquis Changqing?

Marquis Changqing’s mother

is Princess Qingning after all.

What does His Majesty mean?

My father is Duke Chu and my mother is Princess Anyang.

He wants to marry me to the son of a paramour?

Isn't that humiliating our Shaxi Tribe?

I'm going to go ask His Majesty.

Don't go.

His Majesty made this decision

in order to balance all forces.

After his 50th birthday,

he will send this decree.

Come back.

Although other princes have a noble status,

they are not as good as Marquis Changqing.

He is well-educated, good at martial arts, and handsome.

He made great contributions at such a young age.

He's in charge of His Majesty's guards.

He?

Is well-educated and good at martial arts?

Yue,

after you get married,

His Majesty will grant you 300 fiefs

as a wedding gift.

Such a one-in-a-million man

is the dream of so many girls.

Yue,

you should be content.

I know, Aunt.

I won't go to see His Majesty.

In any way, when I was little

and saw you crying when you got married into the palace,

I knew

that the women in our Chu family

can't make their own decision for their marriage.

Yue.

Alright, Aunt.

Don't be too sad for me.

Although I don't want this husband,

I still...

I still used this marriage

to get many things I want from His Majesty.

It's pretty worth it.

Yue,

Marquis Changqing is really a good man.

Okay, I got it.

Princess, aren't you waiting for Duke to leave the palace together?

Her Highness also said

she would find time to arrange a meeting

between you and Marquis Changqing.

What's there to meet?

How could Marquis Changqing be a good man?

I did that

to comfort Aunt.

She has enough of a hard time

in the palace alone.

But didn't Noble Consort say

Marquis Changqing is well-educated and good at martial arts?

Do you believe it?

Let me tell you

Cousin Yan is also in this army that was sent out.

I saw his letter.

He said Marquis Changqing's martial arts skills

are just ordinary.

This time, he just took the credit from his subordinates

and got the title of

the hero who captured Emperor of Wu alive.

Meet him?

Let's delay it.

I have to let them know

I'm not happy about this marriage.

In that way...

They can reward me with

other compensation.

If His Majesty can...

If His Majesty can give me his white royal horse,

it would be even better.

I didn't mean to leave my duty.

I just completed a round of patrol.

But...

Just now our young mistress

asked us to stand here as punishment.

I used to come from Shaxi Tribe.

I dare not disobey.

So,

the young mistress of Shaxi Tribe

can command you.

But as the General of Yulin Guards,

I can't command you?

Fine.

I'm going to correct your attitude today.

Punish them with ten strokes.

Remember.

As the Yulin Guards,

you should only listen to the imperial,

general and military comamnds.

Other young mistresses and old masters

are all bullshit.

Stop!

I told you to stop, do you hear me?

It's you.

Last year at the horse race,

you stole my ball.

Greetings, Princess.

Why did you hit them?

Because I'm in charge of the Yulin Guards.

What?

Princess,

you want to beat me with the whip

like you did last year on the horse race?

Commander,

the execution is over.

Medicine.

Step aside.

This despicable man is taking the chance to revenge.

I'm sorry for causing you this.

Go back and recuperate.

Thank you, Young Mistress.

I'll give gifts to your family.

I'll buy you a drink next time.

Okay.

What's your name?

Li Tongguang.

Okay, got it.

Xucheng is right ahead.

During the last war,

Xucheng was taken by An people.

So after that pass,

we'll officially enter the territory of An people.

We need to stay alert.

And, from now on,

in order to avoid the suspicion of An people,

the delegation and the caravan will act separately.

They can't be more than one mile apart.

But the delegation suffered to much losses previously.

Qian Zhao.

Shisan.

You two join the delegation

and protect Her Highness.

Yes.

Let's split up.

Yes.

What about me?

You should stay with Her Highness

as a Lady-in-waiting.

But later,

when you pass the pass and you're handing over the documents,

Her Highness will definitely meet

with the officials of An State for the first time.

So I need your help.

Also,

be careful.

If you meet your old enemies,

don't be impulsive.

We'll discuss it after we meet.

If I really meet my enemies,

they should be the one who should be careful,

not me.

[An-Wu Border]

Let's go.

Take care, Your Highness.

Take care, Your Highness.

Come back safely.

Come back safely.

Thank you.

Take care too.

Come back safely.

Come back safely.

[The State of An Xucheng Government Office]

We've been waiting for so long.

Wang Yuan is so rude.

Wang Yuan who guarded Xucheng was withdrawn yesterday.

The new general is called Shentu Chi.

I heard he's very domineering.

What? What should we do?

I've never seen

the documents of this Shentu Chi.

Shentu Chi was the commander

of the horse troops of the State of An.

He's the nephew of the late Empress Zhaojie.

He was raised in the palace for two years when he was young.

My family has been famous generals for generations.

He is rough yet concise.

He despises people of the South most.

Hold it in when talking to him.

Okay.

His surname is Shentu?

The State of An has such a strange surname?

Shentu is a major surname of Shadong Tribe.

Lord Shentu is here.

-The Chief Clerk of the State of Wu's emperor's envoy... -You are Prince Li?

Yes.

I was invited by your country to visit

and passed by Xucheng on my way

so I came to visit.

[Commander of the State of An's Westside horse camp Shentu Chi]

Give me the State Book.

Since the State Book has the word "State" in it,

it should be handed over to the King of your state.

I'm afraid it's inappropriate for a commander to look at it.

Your king

was trampled on by me.

Why are you acting high and mighty in front of me?

You...

Fine.

If you insist, you can also take a look at it.

But this is an overstepping crime in the State of An.

Mr. Du,

write down what the commander does

and hand it over to the King of An when the time comes.

Yes.

I heard something.

Aren't you the girl from the palace that washes feet?

Fine, you have some guts.

The State of Wu is really interesting.

I wonder how they pick a gem like you

from a bunch of useless people.

How dare you!

Insulting His Highness is a death sentence.

Her Highness said no violence is allowed.

Put it away.

This is a posthouse?

W-Why is it so shabby?

Xucheng's posthouse

was burnt down during the war.

Just make do with it.

-The firewood is over there. -You...

There's rice in the stove.

Wait.

Why...

Why is there not even someone to serve?

Your state was defeated. Yet you have the cheek to ask for someone to serve you?

You are in the State of An's territory.

How rude.

Shisan.

Can you follow him secretly

and beat him up?

But don't let anyone find out.

-No. -Yu.

Go inside.

It's not like you've never lived in the wilderness.

Please, Your Highness.

Are Boss Ning and Yuan Lu in the in yet?

Don't worry. Everything is settled.

It's just far from here.

About four to five streets down.

They also know the situation here

at the Government Office.

They told us to be hold it in

and just let it go.

Let's go.

What kind of shabby house is this?

Hang in there.

Clean it up.

The place you will stay in the future might be more shabby.

Hang in there.

You've said this 800 times today.

Are you okay? Are you okay?

Shabby house! Damned rat! Horrible An people!

Shentu Chi is downright horrible!

All Shentu people have no conscience!

Stop cursing.

I want to!

Shentu Chi...

Shentu Chi is a bastard!

His subordinates

and the Empress who raised him

are all bad.

You...

Why did you hit me?

Sorry.

I'll leave it to you here.

I'll go out and take a look.

Sugar painting, sugar figurine!

Take a look.

The freshly made bunny.

Ruyi,

I dreamed of Qingyun again last night.

I dreamed that he gave me

my favorite rabbit.

Take a look, the freshly made bunny.

Do you want one?

I want a rabbit.

Take your rabbit.

Thank you.

It’s weird.

Mr. Qian wrote that

there were traces of Scarlet Guards around here.

But it's already dark

and we haven't found them yet.

Boss,

are you hungry?

Still thinking about hunger?

Mr. Qian is always cautious.

His information can’t be wrong.

Shisan is watching over Her Highness.

Let's keep looking.

Let's go over there.

Are you alone?

Xucheng's main tribe is holding a banquet to thank the delegation.

Her Highness and the rest went there.

Just now...

I made a mistake.

I know.

I'll go in first.

Why?

Because you're a spy sent by Scarlet Guards

I'm not.

You're still denying?

You met with Scarlet Guards twice

and spied on Boss Ning on his roof.

Qian and I saw it.

Chu people don't know how to dance Butterfly Dance.

During a barbecue,

only An people don't eat prickly ash.

No wonder you helped Shentu Chi

at the Governmetn Office.

You also dare to slap Her Higness?

It's a pity that Boss Ning has been a hero all his life,

but he was kept in the dark by you.

Die!

A traitor from Scarlet Guards!

Think you can beat me?

Ruyi! Mr. Qian!

Why are you back?

Come and help!

She's not a police officer. She's a Scarlet Guard.

What?

Hurry!

Even you want to kill me?

Stop!

Calm down.

Could there be a misunderstanding?

I saw her meeting with Scarlet Guards

and gave away the delegation's information.

Even if she is a Scarlet Guard,

we can't kill her now.

We'll decide when Ning comes back.

Say it again.

Say it to Sun Lang

who was forced off the cliff by Scarlet Guards.

Say it to Chai Ming.

Say it to the thousands of

Wu people who died

in this battlefield.

Yes, Yu Shisan.

If it weren't for the Scarlet Guards

who bribed Eunuch Hu to steal the map,

how could 50,000 soldiers be defeated?

Now the evidence is solid.

She wants to harm Her Highness and the entire delegation.

You still want to help her?

I'm sorry.

Ruyi!

Good. Very good.
