[A Journey To Love]

[Episode 7]

Ruyi, did I do it right?

Again.

Okay.

Some people's minds are not where their bodies are.

Shut up already.

Fine, I'll shut up.

Boss Ning.

This is a secret letter from the headquarters.

[Prince Danyang's trusted patrol cavalry general Zhou Jian sent 3,000 troops to stop the delegation at Tushan]

[Report from Wu Capital Hell Path]

Go find an empty inn ahead.

We won't stay in a posthouse this time.

Got it.

Ding Hui.

Qian, this is the last half.

I’m not hungry. You eat.

Move.

Shisan, for you.

I have no appetite.

What did Ning and Beauty

talk about in the inn just now?

Why did his expression change?

If you tell me,

I'll give you a sip of my peach blossom wine.

Give me the peach blossom wine first.

When have I ever lied to you before?

Tell me first.

Ruyi wants to have a baby with him,

but she doesn't want any feelings between them.

He deserves it.

He treats others like a treasure,

but others treat him like medicine residue.

You said you wouldn't tell other people.

Am I trustworthy?

Besides, Qian isn't an outsider.

We won’t stay in a posthouse this time.

We might need to find an inn ahead.

What is medicine residue?

It's...

Yuan Lu.

Come here.

Such good news.

[Tushan Inn, Tushan Town]

Your Highness, the Tushan Posthouse is still under repair.

Unfortunately, you'll have to stay here for now.

Mr. Du, Tushan Posthouse is still under repair.

We'll stay here for now.

Miss Ruyi, let me help you.

Let me.

Guys at the back, hurry up.

This way, please.

A letter from the division nearby.

It's the same as the letter I received from the pigeon this afternoon.

Zhou Jian, Prince Danyang's trusted General Pingyuan,

has led 3,000 soldiers

to intercede us.

That's why I asked Sun Lang

to find an empty inn in advance,

in case he ambushes us at the posthouse.

But we are soldiers sent by the imperial court.

How dare Prince Danyang send troops

to stop us?

Of course, they won't do it directly.

They can pretend to be the reception or escorts

and make it look like the posthouse was on fire.

Or

they can drag us into the wilderness,

kill us all,

and put the blame on bandits

or the Scarlet Guards.

That would be enough.

I read

Zhou Jian's information while in the Hell Path.

This man has great merit

and is a very brave general.

Here. Shisan,

go to his place later

and investigate his military deployment.

Leave it to me.

Aren't you cold?

Put on your clothes.

Boss Qian, don't say that.

Right.

We're not competing with Boss Ning.

Boss Ning isn't willing,

but we are.

That's right.

Everyone in Liudao Hall

has great bodies.

That's right.

Stop dreaming.

She won't like any of you.

Who knows?

Who knows?

Have you heard of Lou Qingqiang under Zhao Ji?

Ding Hui.

Tell them

how Lou Qingqiang died.

Well,

Lou Qingqiang only used one move

on Miss Ren and then...

Really?

Do you understand?

If you want to show off in front of her,

you need to weigh yourself first.

Did you see that?

He actually smiled.

It's solved?

Please understand them.

They've been single for a long time.

It's rare to meet a pretty girl.

Besides, your cousin is a true beauty.

She's not my cousin.

Then why won't you have a baby with her?

I... You...

What is it?

Those guards don't know their place.

Please don't take it to heart.

In what way do they not know their place?

Anyway...

Anyway, they don't have bad intentions.

They just want to seem...

You could tell?

Of course.

I have more experience than you

in seeing men showing off.

What?

Are you afraid that I'll fall for them

and abandon you?

You think too much.

I'm afraid they'll anger you

and you'll want to kill again.

After all,

there are not many people

willing to go to the State of An with me.

Anything else?

Could you please

stay with Her Highness these days?

There's an assassin?

Prince Danyang's men.

I need a bell and pearl birds.

It's ready.

Does Prince Danyang know?

No.

Only Zhang Song and the empress

know about welcoming the emperor back to the State of Wu.

You knew what I wanted to ask?

We're in the same field, after all.

I'm not as rich as your Liudao Hall.

I can't easily pay thousands of gold to buy someone's life.

It was just Zhao Ji who was greedy.

We usually live a frugal life.

Sometimes, we don't even have money to buy horses.

The higher-ups

want us to be able to do everything

on one hand.

On the other hand, they hope we can be like immortals

and go without eating.

You're like this too?

When I was in office,

asking the higher-ups for a bonus

took more effort than killing.

Exactly.

When Shisan and the others come back,

would you like to discuss the next steps

with us?

Do you all trust me?

Of course.

I told you.

You are a companion.

But I'm not trying to flatter you.

It's just that Prince Danyang has too many men this time.

We must work together.

Call me then.

Laugh if you want. Don't hold it in.

You can laugh at me,

but don't be disrespectful

to Miss Ruyi,

understand?

Yes.

I disguised myself as a musician and sneaked into Zhou Jian's office.

He happened to be talking about this with his men.

He said

that this time,

he definitely won't let us out of the Tushan Pass alive.

This is the place.

The delegation must pass by here.

Then we won't take the official road.

We'll take the small mountain path.

No.

Even if we can cross it,

Her Highness's carriage can't.

Besides, we still have the gold.

Even if we pull them up cart by cart,

we'll still attract

their attention if the commotion is too big.

What if we force our way through?

They've arranged 1,000 men to be in Tushan Pass

and all kinds of experts.

How many of us are there?

Force our way through?

What do you think?

Kill.

Catch the leader first.

As long as we kill Zhou Jian

and make it sudden,

the 1,000 guards will no longer pose a threat.

How can we kill him?

I'll do it.

When do you want him to die?

That's straightforward.

How much has your internal force recovered?

About half.

That won't do.

Zhou Jian was third in the martial arts imperial examination.

Even if you happen to succeed,

you won't be able to leave unscathed.

He has been famous for a long time.

I've read his file before.

I've calculated

that I can kill him

and at most cripple my own arm.

Even if Zhou Jian is dead,

his soldiers will still be guarding Tushan Pass.

We will still have to break in.

The people in the delegation are not weak.

The loss will be too big.

This won't do, that won't do.

Then why did you call me here?

In our field,

isn't it necessary

to risk our lives every day?

It's not that we can't take the risk,

but we can't take risks too casually.

We must maximize our possibility of winning.

How about this?

Tell me

the contents you've read in Zhou Jian's file

so that I can compare it with his file in the Liudao Hall.

I only remember that he's in his forties.

He's straightforward and loves drinking.

He usually doesn't sleep alone.

He's not very well-read,

but he likes reading novels of famous generals.

He claims to be the 20th grandson of General Zhou of the previous dynasty.

Shisan,

are you sure

he doesn't know that the Liudao Hall is escorting the princess?

I don't think he knows.

Why not?

We haven't gone to the posthouse.

I've also talked to the posthouse manager.

They

still think we haven't reached Tushan Pass yet.

His staff also said

that they think

we only have around 20 guards.

If they kill us, half of the 100,000 taels of gold

would be given to Prince Danyang,

while they'd be able to keep the other half.

In that case,

we might as well use our wisdom to outsmart him.

Zhou Jian is exposed, while we're still hidden.

-As long as... -You all can keep discussing it.

It's Yang Ying's bedtime.

I should go too.

Boss, is Ruyi angry?

She's not angry.

She's just not used to

discussing things with so many people.

She was an assassin.

She's used to being alone.

You seem to know her well.

Let's get down to business.

Alright, I support using wisdom.

We can...

Pearl birds are more sensitive to poisonous smoke than humans.

If someone releases poisonous smoke,

it will start screaming.

Interesting.

If you hang the bell on the window,

it will ring if an assassin touches it.

Got it.

How dare you!

I'm not a princess.

I am...

Prince Li.

I made a mistake.

Please forgive me, Your Highness.

Ms. Ren,

I can't sleep alone.

I order you now to accompany me.

How would you like me

to accompany you?

The Scarlet Guards

usually offer beautiful girls and boys to envoys

to investigate them.

If you don't want to expose yourself,

you must learn to face it calmly.

Okay.

How should I act calm?

First, frown.

Second,

don't move.

Third,

just softly say two phrases.

Dirty.

Get out.

Dirty. Get out.

Forgive me, Your Highness,

but I really have nowhere to go.

Please pity me.

How rude!

Guards! Drag her out!

Was that right?

Not bad.

You're smart.

Really?

But Ruyi,

why do you know so many things?

If only I were half pretty and capable as you,

that would be great.

I had to learn it too.

I would've died if I couldn't learn it well.

You too.

I'm not afraid.

These days, I can see

that you and Yuanzhou

both speak fiercely,

but you just want to scare me.

Yang Ying,

you must remember

that emotions like true love

have long died in Ning Yuanzhou and I.

Maybe

he had some feelings for you

when he was a guard in the palace,

but if you still can't come to your senses one day,

he will really kill you.

Just like now,

I can joke with you

and kill you at the same time.

Don't trust anyone,

no matter how good he is to you.

The only one who will never betray you

is yourself.

This

is the most important thing I will teach you.

Got it?

Go to sleep.

Your Highness.

Good morning, Your Highness.

You didn't sleep well last night?

I had difficulty sleeping in the new environment.

Why hasn't everyone packed up?

When are we leaving?

We're not leaving today.

Boss said to stand by.

Where did he go?

He and Shisan went to persuade Zhou Jian to let us go.

Isn't Zhou Jian working for Brother Danyang?

Will he listen to Yuanzhou—

To Mr. Ning?

Use emotions and logic to persuade others.

It's not up to him this time.

He wants to kidnap Zhou Jian?

Is this the method you all came up with yesterday?

It's something more effective than kidnapping.

Ruyi,

just wait and see.

[Zhou Jian, Prince Danyang's trusted patrol cavalry general]

Why is Prince Li so slow?

When can they enter Tushan Town?

I am Ning Yuanzhou, the chief of Liudao Hall.

I am under Prince Danyang's orders.

Greetings, General Zhou.

Ning Yuanzhou?

Some secret things

are not suitable for outsiders to hear,

so I had to ask Advisor Zhang

to take a short break.

Two years ago,

I met you once

in the Duke Shen's mansion.

Do you still remember?

Yes.

But aren't you already...

It's all thanks to His Highness's kindness,

allowing me to live.

That's why I have the chance to serve His Highness

with you.

This decree can serve as evidence.

Hold on.

I need to check the seal.

When did His Highness send you here?

What day was it?

The 27th.

[Decree: I'm sending Ning Yuanzhou to you for Prince Li's affairs. He can be trusted.]

Please forgive me, Mr. Ning.

Don't blame me for being suspicious,

but a few days ago, I received a letter from the mansion,

ordering me to stop Prince Li.

I don't know why he...

It's just that, a few days ago, I didn't return to the capital yet

and didn't see His Highness.

Otherwise,

I wouldn't have let those aides

come up with such a stupid idea.

They even wanted to do it directly.

They didn't even think

that if Prince Li really died in the State of An,

Zhang Song and the empress would never forgive them.

They just need to catch a few witnesses

of when you took action

and His Highness

would most likely be sentenced to death for killing his brother and treason.

General Zhou,

you would also be sentenced to death.

Fortunately, you are prudent

and only set up an ambush in Tushan Pass,

avoiding a huge mistake.

That's right.

I knew something was wrong.

Mr. Ning,

what's your plan?

I proposed a plan to His Highness.

Have you heard of the story

of General Zhang from the previous dynasty

using a scarecrow to disguise himself

to lure the enemy into the camp?

Of course.

General Zhou is indeed knowledgeable.

My plan is to substitute one for the other.

Prince Li has always been in the palace.

The An people naturally don't know what he looks like.

We just need to form a fake delegation

and enter the State of An before the real delegation.

Then, we can create some conflicts with the An people

and die within the State of An.

In this way,

the peace talks between the two states will fall apart.

Amidst the chaos,

no one will care where the true Prince Li is.

As long as His Majesty can't return,

the throne

will naturally fall into His Highness's hands.

Even if the fake delegation is exposed,

no one will connect it

to His Highness and us.

This is a brilliant plan.

It's just that the delegation is huge.

It's hard to find

so many suitable people in such a hurry.

Don't worry, General Zhou.

I've already arranged the old men of the Liudao Hall.

I can't say the disguise is flawless,

but they do look the part.

Really?

Yes.

[Wu]

I didn't expect

that your lightness skill would be so good.

You were silent when you came to me just now.

I almost fell off in shock.

What?

Did Yuan Lu tell you where we are?

Let's get down to business.

What exactly is Ning Yuanzhou planning?

Why did Zhou Jian believe him?

It's an amazing plan.

Although Ning came up with it,

I put in a lot of effort too.

Get to the point.

To make Zhou Jian trust us,

we need Prince Danyang's seal and secret decree.

I went to Zhou Jian's place yesterday

and stole his letters with Prince Danyang.

Try again.

Yuan Lu can create

an automatic mechanism with his eyes closed.

Carving an identical seal

is a piece of cake for him.

As for the code,

that's Ning's talent.

He has a sharp nose.

He smelled milk in the letter,

so he was sure

that the code was written with a brush dipped in milk.

He asked Sun Lang to catch a messenger from before.

I'll give you one last chance.

Will you say it or not?

I'll tell you.

After Qian interrogated him,

he spent an hour

and finally solved the code

that only becomes visible with heat.

Qian Zhao knows how to decode?

He looks annoying,

but

he knows a bit about medicine, arts, calligraphy,

and how to cheat people.

Was it Ning Yuanzhou who came up with

the idea of a deception?

The real delegation has become a fake delegation,

while Zhou Jian has to

respectfully guide us through the pass.

What do you think?

Isn't Ning smart?

Not really.

You could've achieved this by killing Zhou Jian,

but you had to complicate things.

Didn't we calculate it before?

If we force our way in, we'll suffer casualties.

Ning doesn't want any of us to get hurt,

so he'd rather use wisdom than force.

Treating your subordinates as brothers

is just a saying.

You really believe it?

Others don't, but you should.

In our work,

we live in danger every day.

We are not fools.

It's clear who can truly risk their lives

with us.

Ning is clever and good at martial arts,

but just these two points

aren't enough for him to become the chief.

When the Hungry Ghost Path's gunpowder magazine exploded back then,

it was Ning who rushed into the fire

and broke four ribs

to unearth the five-year-old Yuan Lu

and a group of unconscious mechanics

from the dust.

When the late emperor was poisoned by the State of Su

and the old chief of Hell Path committed suicide to escape punishment,

it was Ning who stepped up and accepted the order

to find the true murderer within ten days,

saving the lives of 500 people.

The Liudao Hall has more rules

than you police officers.

You can't become the Deputy Chief

unless you're from the top three paths.

What was Ning?

He was just a scout from the Hell Path.

Why was he an exception to the rule?

He was carried up there

by the brothers of the six paths.

Don't you think we count as true brothers?

Is this why you're all willing to go to the State of An

and rescue the emperor of Wu with him?

Of course.

Of course, it's because of you, Beauty.

Did you know?

He's very worried of you getting hurt.

When he heard that you wanted to kill Zhou Jian,

his heart almost leapt out of his throat.

Beauty, you have to trust me.

Really.

I am real,

but I have to pretend to be fake?

That's right. We'll suffer the least losses this way.

It's the safest too.

But...

Don't be afraid.

You're the fake Prince Li,

so it's normal for you to give yourself away.

It'll be fine as long as you don’t talk

and just act according to Ning Yuanzhou's instructions.

He stayed in the military office

to stabilize Zhou Jian.

He must keep talking to Zhou Jian

so that he doesn't have the chance

to discover what's wrong.

Okay.

What about Mr. Du?

He’s the chief clerk of the delegation.

What if he messes up?

This is the chief clerk of the delegation?

How dare you!

I'm a third-rank chief clerk.

How dare a mere patrol cavalry general

speak impolitely to me?

General Zhou.

This chief clerk is real.

He was taking a break at home.

I forged the empress's decree

to transfer him here as the chief clerk.

He thinks he's leading the real delegation.

We need some truth to fool the An people.

Very wise.

Lord, please forgive me.

I was busy with military affairs

and lacked in my manners.

Mr. Du,

General Zhou has arranged the whole schedule for us.

Please forgive him.

As expected of Mr. Ning.

As expected of the Liudao Hall.

In just a few days,

you created

such a decent-looking delegation.

Even I was almost fooled.

We were too rushed,

so we still couldn't find the best people.

Look at these guards.

Some look wooden, some are dazed,

and some are dumb.

Especially Prince Li

is truly not good enough.

Yes, he's a bit off.

Mr. Ning, you will have to

take the time to train them during the journey.

Don't worry.

General Zhou,

how's the arrangement at the pass?

I'll personally send you through.

I promise no one else

will see your true appearances, except me.

Thank you, General Zhou.

We will set off now.

Let's go.

General Zhou, you are really thoughtful.

Thank you.

You flatter me.

Those who love reading novels

are all good friends.

You're welcome.

I just received a letter from a pigeon.

The real delegation is near Sanli Posthouse.

I'll leave the interception to you,

but don't forget His Highness's instructions.

Just delay them.

Don't kill anyone.

Also,

in order to prevent bandits,

the real delegation has both real and fake gold.

The ones with real gold have the word "ten thousand"

on the horses' legs.

General Zhou, do as you wish.

Mr. Ning, you are truly wonderful.

I shall take my leave now.

Goodbye.

Go at full speed

and leave Peizhou as soon as possible.

So we crossed the pass just like this?

There weren't even people interrogating us,

let alone assassins.

♫Passing barren lands and dangerous buildings by horse♫

Isn't it fun?

That's why

♫Rain flows outside the window at night♫

everyone likes to work with Boss Ning.

♫Holding a sword of frustrations from the world♫

♫Hiding gentleness deep within♫

♫Wandering through the world with wistfulness in the heart♫

♫Turning freedom into a boat that crosses the high hills alone♫

♫Passing through the clouds, love remains in the wind and moon♫

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Your Highness, a secret letter.

[Zhou Jian set an ambush in Tushan Pass to kill the delegation under Marquis Yongping's secret order]

Ridiculous!

I must leave the palace immediately.

Tell them

I have a health emergency.

I won't attend the court meeting.

Yes.

Your Highness.

Her Majesty wants to see you.

Your Highness.

You ordered Zhou Jian to kill the delegation?

If I said it wasn't me,

would you believe me?

Zhou Jian is your cousin's brother-in-law.

If it wasn't you,

who else could it be?

We studied in the Imperial Study together for six years.

You know what kind of person I am.

Ying is also my sister.

How could I do such a thing?

You wouldn't have done that before.

But now,

I'm afraid you'd even want

your brother to die in the State of An right now

for the throne.

What is Ying to you?

Answer me.

Did you give the order?

It wasn't me.

It was my uncle, Marquis Yongping.

Even if I wanted to do it, I wouldn't have chosen

to do it before the delegation left the state.

In the end,

you still want Ying to die

and stop His Majesty from returning.

I was going to the Mansion of Marquis Yongping

to ask him to stop.

I have something to ask you.

When Father betrothed you to him,

you were unwilling.

You even wanted to escape the marriage.

After entering the palace, he favored others,

while you had no other feelings for him.

Why are you

acting like you love him now?

Did you fall in love with him all of a sudden?

There's no such thing as love in the imperial family.

It doesn't matter whether I like His Majesty or not.

What matters is

only he

can make me the most noble woman in Wu.

But if we work together,

you can continue to be the empress.

Yan.

Actually, I…

Actually, I still...

You know,

I still don't have a wife.

But

I want to be the empress dowager more.

Being the empress,

all my glory comes from your love.

But as the empress dowager,

my power will be in my own hands

before he takes over the throne.

Okay.

Boss Ning,

the valley is ahead

and the road is slippery from the fog.

I'm afraid that if we go further, the horses will easily fail.

It seems that we won't reach Shuzhou today

no matter what.

Tell them to find a high place

and put up camp.

Yes.

What's wrong?

Today is the tenth day.

Yes.

The poison hasn't taken effect yet.

We'll get the antidote

when we get to Shuzhou tomorrow.

You'd better not lie to me.

You'd better give up on this thought.

The Liudao Hall has a law,

which is that we can't

have any intimate relationship with our allies in missions.

I must follow the law.

I'm from the Scarlet Guards.

I don't need to follow the rules of the Liudao Hall.

But you are now our ally.

Am I that bad?

So bad

that I can't move you at all?

No.

You're good.

You can even say

you're one of the biggest temptations I've met.

Then why do you reject me?

I won't hurt you.

My reason tells me

we are actually the same kind of person.

I think you should understand

that for people like us in the martial arts world,

every piece of sudden fortune

means danger.

It's my honor

to have you like me,

but there are many good men in the world.

The safest way for us to get along

is to complete what we promised each other

and go

our separate ways.

You'd better keep your promise

and help me find out who killed Empress Zhaojie.

Or else...

Or else you'll kill me.

You've said it too many times.

My ears are getting calluses from hearing it.

It's your fault you lied to me about the child.

I...

The child's matter is different.

Plus...

I didn't expect you to be so easily fooled.

No.

Don't fight.

You may not be able to defeat me now.

Well,

I'm going to take Sun Lang's shift now.

Rest early.

I'll go with you.

Boss Ning.

Sun Lang.

Miss Ruyi.

Give it to me.

You guys go back and rest early.

Okay, let's go.

Lang,

Boss Ning doesn't let us

show off in front of Miss Ren.

Is it because

he's starting to regret things?

Shut up.

Everyone is betting

to see if Boss Ning will give in to Miss Ren.

Shut up!

I bet he won't.

Ms. Pei was close with Boss Ning before.

I've met her.

She's gentle.

Boss Ning likes that type.

I bet two strings of coins.

I bet he will.

Why?

Why not?

Because I like

fluffy little animals.

I saw Miss Ren feeding cats last time.

She loves cats,

That's why I support her and Boss Ning.

You've walked with me for so long.

You must have something to tell me.

What is it?

Go ahead.

I want to ask

how you get along so well

with Yu Shisan and the others.

Why do you ask?

Empress Zhaojie said

that I was a sword in my previous life.

I was born not to get along with anyone.

If she hadn't protected me and promoted me,

I would have long died from the Scarlet Guards' internal conflicts.

She kept telling me to change myself,

but I still don't know how.

Whether it’s with my godmother

or with Ling Long,

we spent quite some time together,

but it still felt like there was something between us.

I'm going to be a mother in the future.

I don't want to be

so cold with my own child.

So,

can you teach me?

Have you ever thought

why Empress Zhaojie wanted you to have a child?

No.

Why not?

Her Highness served His Majesty for more than 20 years.

Her vision and temperament were extraordinary.

If she wanted me to do something, it must be for my own good.

Why would I think so much about it?

You're right.

Do you like kids?

Of course I do.

Look into my eyes.

Tell the truth.

Actually,

not that much.

I hate it when kids cry.

Empress Zhaojie only gave birth to the Second Prince.

I should have liked him,

but every time he cried,

I would get so annoyed.

I think you should think about

why Empress Zhaojie forced you

to do something you don't like.

I also force Yang Ying to do what she doesn't like.

It's like practicing martial arts.

No one likes it at first,

but you get used to it after you learn it.

Anyway, I will definitely complete

Empress Zhaojie's orders.

I agree with this.

I still remember when I was undercover in the State of An

and saw the Scarlet Guards.

You're all perfect at obeying orders.

You have absolute obedience

for your superior's orders without changing a single word of it.

Empress Zhaojie wasn't like a superior to me.

Besides, when someone joins the Scarlet Guard,

you must recite on the first day

that those who disobey the order will die.

Isn't the Liudao Hall like this?

Of course not.

Whether it's Yu Shisan or Qian Zhao,

neither of them treat me as their superior.

That's true.

So?

You were deceived by Zhao Ji

because you couldn't control your men

and ended up in prison and the army.

You are indeed an excellent assassin.

Your words are hurtful too.

Alright.

Don't be sad.

When I was in the Scarlet Guard,

I didn't have many subordinates

who followed orders.

Boss.

It's our turn.

Okay, here.

Thank you.

Well,

go back and rest early.

We'll talk some other time.

Why aren't you sleeping?

You looked at Ruyi in quite a special way.

You even made a face to make her laugh.

Kids shouldn't think about this nonsense.

If you don't tell me,

I'll keep thinking about it.

Fine.

If you can't say it,

then let me ask you.

Do you have feelings

for Ruyi?

If yes, look at your left hand.

If not, look at your right hand.

No.

Why?

No.

Ruyi is so excellent,

but you don't like her?

Why what?

Qian is also excellent.

Shisan is excellent too.

I don't like them either.

It's different.

No, how can you not like Ruyi?

I don't care.

You have to tell me anyway.

Why? Why? Why?

Why don't you like Ruyi?

She's right about one thing.

-What? -Children are troublesome.

If you don't tell me,

I won't sleep tonight.

Fine.

Ruyi

is the most perfect assassin

I've ever seen.

She's calm, ruthless,

smart, and agile.

For assassins,

she's practically flawless.

I still remember the shock I felt

when I read her file for the first time.

She killed three military governors in one month

and made the State of Chu mourn in seven days.

At that time, I really wanted to meet Ren Xin.

I wanted to see which of us is more talented.

But I never expected

that Ren Xin

would be a girl

and so young too.

She's like a leopard.

But people like her

are destined to lead a bloody life.

But what about me?

I will retire after this mission.

We are not the same kind of people.

But...

But everyone thinks

that the way you look at Ruyi

is quite special.

Isn't it normal to do a double take

when seeing a pretty girl?

What's so special about it?

No.

The way you look at her is very special.

You give her special treatment too.

Sometimes,

you treat her even better than Her Highness.

Actually,

it's because I feel sorry for her.

For what?

Ruyi

is good at seducing men

as a White Sparrow,

but sometimes I think

she's like those puppets you make.

She only knows to kill

and complete her missions,

but she's never thought about

why she should jump

or why she should run.

She's never even thought to think about it.

She must have

suffered a lot when she was working as a Scarlet Guard.

So, even if I don't like her at all,

I still want to be nice to her.

I want her to know that there are

many interesting things in the world,

other than killing

and having babies

that she should experience.

If...

[Zhou Jian discovered the ploy last night and is furious. He's leading an army of thousands here]

Oh no.

Sun Lang.

Boss Ning.

Boss Ning,

Zhou Jian found out he was tricked

and is chasing after us with an army.

Tell everyone to set out immediately.

Follow our second plan

and rush to Shuzhou at full speed.

Take advantage of the natural environment.

Yes.

Everyone, get ready.

Ding Hui, load the carriages.

Yes.

Yuan Lu, load the carriages.

Load the carriages.

Get on the horse.

Everyone, get ready.
