I wanted to become.

The evening shift homicide.

Typically when we're
Waiting for a call,

You do menial stuff.

That night,
I think I was just

Sitting around the office,
Writing reports.

We've got a shooting
At the american legion

Close to south lakeshore drive.

Is the victim expired?

From the scene

The victim has expired.

We got a homicide
At the american legion.

At the end of the day,
Everybody works as a team,

But even though everyone
Goes to the homicide,

There's one person
That's responsible

As the primary investigator,
And that was me.

I was pretty early on
In the homicide unit

And I didn't have
Any unsolved homicides.

I had an air of confidence,
Some thought overconfidence.

What happened.

Lukewarm story

That they pulled over
In the parking lot,

That he attempted to take
Her purse or something.

She went to grab it back

And then he tried
To sexually assault her.

She said once she shot him,
She called terrance

And asked terrance
To come find her

At the grocery store
And take her back to the hotel.

After alisha tells me her story,
I don't believe her.

Now, upon visually
Examining alisha,

There's no indication that

She's involved in
Any type of struggle,

So her story doesn't support

What the evidence
Showed at that point.

Once thing I know for sure
Is drexelle would never,

Ever attempt to rape somebody.

That I want to
Make sure is clear.

I believe that she killed him
Because she wanted to rob him.

She was wanting to

That didn't belong to her.

But I'm not her judge.

If she can convince a judge
That is self-defense,

Second-degree murder.

Nor justin wright

Were charged with any crime.

The evidence shook out
To be alisha disotell

Being the sole actor in this.

When alisha was
Booked into jail,

We found out that she had
Crack cocaine on her person.

In addition from the time
I arrested alisha, um,

Until the time
She went to court,

She never strayed from
Her self-defense claim.

But eventually,
She pled guilty to manslaughter

And was sentenced to
30 years in prison.

She took a life that was
Precious to a lot of people.

When we were at court,
This little girl

Would turn around and just
Stick her tongue out at us.

She was very disrespectful.

I don't hate too much,
But this alisha little girl,

I hate her.
