Josh?

Josh?

Josh?

Josh.

Hi, Dad.

I want to eat ice cream, Dad.

Everything is happening just like how I wanted it to. - I want to play football.

Just for 20 rupees Just for 20 rupees. Know your future for 20 rupees.

Know your future for 20 rupees.

I want to know my future, Dad.

Give me 20 rupees and I will tell you about your future.

How can you tell me?

I can tell. I have that magic.

Shall I tell you your future?

Josh, you're going to go to a land far, far away.

And that place has animals that have big tails.

And those animals carry their babies in a special pouch...

And they jump high and move forward.

People sit in large chairs there and drink beer in big glasses.

And laugh loudly...

But you don't drink beer, okay?

And wherever you look, there's just beaches everywhere.

In front of you, behind you. On your left and right...

there's a beach everywhere. It's a very nice place.

And you're going to a country called...

Australia!

You're such a smart kid.

Absolutely right, my joey.

Joey? - Yes, because a kangaroo's baby is called a joey.

It's a lovely place, Josh.

And there, you'll join a big University.

Play lots of sports. Something like...

...soccer and rugby.

A masculine sport, you know...

And...

And you will have a girlfriend and just have a great time.

And what will you do, Dad?

You know what I will do, my son?

I will...

I will sit in a big chair with a glass of beer in my hand...

And I will watch you grow up...

...to be this handsome, strong man...

...that I want you to be. The champ that I want you to be.

That's it?

Yeah. That's it.

That's it, my boy.

Come on, let's go and let's frighten Granny. Okay?

Hey, Granny is eating ice cream. Come on. Let's go and get us ice creams.

You seem quite interested in body parts.

I mean... sorry. Bionics.

Theodore is my favorite painter.

Yes.

The romanticist of the 19th century.

Yeah, nobody quite drew body parts like...

Except Goya.

Francisco Goya? - Yeah.

Yes.

I kind of really liked his... Disaster Of Way.

But nothing like Theodore's...

...The Raft Of The Medusa.

Are you an artist?

Struggling. Almost one.

Oh. So, you're the critic types.

Sort of. Yes.

Did you know that in the 19th century, morgues in France...

...used to extract human organs and

...officially donate those to art students.

And they used to call it... A Lending Library.

And from there, Theodore would get the organs...

...and create his paintings.

Imagine that. How progressive was society back then.

Yeah.

And in today's day and age,

organ donation is considered...

...a liability and not a responsibility.

I mean... quite regressive.

Have you...

Sorry... have you pledged your organs?

Yes, of course. And I've even received organs.

Not personally.

I'm a part of an organization that...

...promotes organ donation.

You know, we generate awareness about the subject.

That's nice. - Yeah.

Very good.

Thank you.

You are surrounded by so much beauty the whole day.

How do you spend your evenings?

I mean, what are you doing this evening?

Well, after wrapping up from here, it gets pretty boring.

So, if I may...

You know, these days if a pretty girl says that...

...she's bored, it is actually an indirect invitation for a date.

So, may I ask you out... for a coffee, this evening?

I'm just kidding.

My name is Siddharth.

Hi, I'm Ria.

Hello. - Nice to meet you, Ria.

Nice to meet you.

Margaret.

Josh will survive now.

But after he recovers, how will he live without me?

I've thought of a way...

Australia.

Away from all this.

We'll miss you.

But we'll live happily.

Bye, my love.

Hi Danny. - Hi. Aunty, this garage...

Danny, the garage was so dirty.

Juliet took 3 hours to clean it.

Such a mess it was...

Even the cleaners were disgusted with it.

Juliet had to pick a big carton and carry it away herself.

She was looking very upset.

If I can find this...

...then anybody can find it.

Josh. One last time.

Hello.

This is Dr. Kapadia from Kohinoor Hospital.

Am I speaking to Denzel Mascarenhas?

Yes, doctor. This is he.

We have just admitted an accident victim who has been declared...

...in a state of irreversible coma.

His blood group is AB negative.

We've counseled his family.

And they're ready to donate his organs.

God!

So, wh... What are you saying?

Josh is number one on the waiting list.

He needs to get to the hospital right now.

Thank you, doctor. - Yeah.

Josh. Champ.

Now everything will be alright.

It's just a question of one last goal.

You will be fine.

Go and hit a penalty kick...

...and the game is ours.

See you soon.

Okay.

Sorry, Mr. Mascarenhas, the organ donor was a smoker.

I thought I had a chance.

But his lungs were too damaged.

There could have been many complications.

So... I had to abort the surgery.

I'll look into Josh. Really sorry.

Hey....

Suddenly, the power went off in the gallery.

Ria walked towards the fuse board.

And in the darkness,

she collided with the water jar.

She lost her balance and fell down.

She bumped her head on the sculpture.

And lost consciousness.

The water started spreading in the room. It came in contact with the electric wires.

And when the power was restored...

...a 230 volt current passed through Ria's body.

Due to the electric current...

...her respiratory system was paralyzed.

Her heartbeat became erratic and slowly, stopped.

An accidental death by electrocution.

I am sorry, Ria.

It is either you or Josh.

Sir... sir...

Denzel Mascarenhas.

It was a very good set-up.

You led us to do exactly what you wanted us to do.

You diverted all the suspicion from you to Rao.

But somewhere, my instincts were telling me that things...

...were not what they appeared to be.

I swear on Maanvi.

I wasn't there, sir.

If something happens to me, who will take care of Maanvi?

Even the people who don't have tattoos on their arm are in love.

You're saying this because of this tattoo right, Inspector?

And my instincts were right.

But there was still one thing bothering me.

How did you manage to do this?

Now let me tell you, your own planning.

You got to know that we were investigating

all the AB negative recipients.

And you also knew that if we could suspect you,

other recipients would be our suspects as well.

But the recipients list is classified.

So there was only one way for you to find out about

the other recipients.

To find out who else we were tracking.

And as soon as you found out about the other recipient...

...your next step was to divert our focus

from you to him.

And that person was Rao.

You started following Rao.

His routine, his mannerisms.

The day Nair was attacked, you first left...

...from the blind school.

Then, dressed up like Rao.

You made a duplicate key for Rao's car...

...and left in the same car so that the...

...CCTV could record evidence of Rao leaving.

The voice that we were listening to in the forensics lab... - "How are you?"

...was not Rao's, but yours.

"Where are you going?" - "Off for a swim. See you."

Then you came out of the changing room

And pulled out the electricity fuse of the club...

...attacked Nair,

came back and parked Rao's car at the same place.

And went back to the blind school.

You had to do all this before the movie at the blind school ended.

All this in just two hours?

But you made a small mistake in this performance.

The tattoo.

You missed recreating the tattoo.

You are from the same unit.

So show some brotherhood. Adjust a little.

Kabir, the news that...

...all the donors were killed, should not leak out. - Sir.

I know you didn't attack Nair.

But until the real culprit is nabbed...

...we need your help.

So, we all know that Nair is alive.

But it is very essential for this case... that we declare him dead.

False report.

You will get the remaining details later. - Nair never died.

But it was important to make you believe...

...that this case was closed forever.

I left the city.

Everything got back to normal.

But that's what we made you believe.

Ria.

Sorry about all this.

But to get him out of his shell, we had to do this.

I can understand.

The car's here. - Okay.

Shinde.

Take ma'am home. - Yes, sir.

I will see you there.

Nair is alive. He's on ventilator support now.

Ria ma'am's moving around freely in the open.

What did you think? That you'd escape?

It was a game.

You will be gone.

You're going in for a long time.

Verma died of an asthma attack, right?

Rahul died in an accident. And Anita committed suicide.

And, Nair.

You just said that he's on the ventilator. That means he is alive.

Ria has just walked out from here.

The other three who died, died a natural death.

So, I don't think you have a strong case.

What say, Inspector, sir?

You fucker, you're going to pay for all your crimes!

Poor Josh.

He's dying right now.

He's dying every day.

I tried to give him life.

I'm a father.

What do I do?

I'm not a coach to watch the match silently.

I'm a good father, which you will never be.

I've tried to save my son's life.

But what did you do?

Because of your foolishness, your daughter got killed.

Fucker, I will shoot you right now!

Why are you getting so jumpy?

It's not your mistake. Move aside.

Prakash.

Yes, Prakash, listen to what Inspector sir is saying.

Leave this.

Inspector sir, I know Josh doesn't have much time.

But before he goes,

...he will know that his dad did everything to save him.

But what kind of father are you?

Have you ever thought about it? Had you not been stupid...

...today your daughter, Shreya, would be with you.

She would be playing with you and Ria.

After today, every time you look into Ria's eyes...

...you will see that emptiness and complaint.

Such an idiot. What kind of an officer you are?

Did you sleep through your training?

All you had to do was turn on the safety lock of that gun.

And your daughter would have been alive.

But you couldn't even do that.

You idiot!

You dumb...

Kabir.

Josh.

Please.

What will you do if someone suddenly...

...comes in front of the car when you're driving?

Have you thought about it?

If Josh wasn't ill...

...Mascarenhas would also just be a face in the crowd.

For us, they just add up to faces and numbers.

And if Mascarenhas was nothing, who would I be?

To kill Mascarenhas, I had to think like him.

A father who committed so many murders for his son...

...instigates me when he has almost achieved his goal...

...and then gives away his life.

It was totally confusing.

Mascarenhas' eyes had all the answers.

There was neither disappointment...

...nor defeat in his eyes.

There was no hope, either.

But there was faith.

Sir, Nair is no more.

The ventilator is turned off.

Shall we send the body for autopsy?

Perhaps he knew me better than I know myself.

He knew. He knew the only way I could redeem myself was by saving Josh.

Josh...

And he was right.

Not required.

This will be called an accident.

I lied to maintain... ...our society's faith in

the idea of organ donation...

...faith in goodness, in mankind.

A breakthrough in... ...the Rajiv Nair murder case.

Mumbai crime branch re-investigated Mr. Nair's case.

And as per the investigation reports...

...Rajiv Nair was not attacked.

It was an accidental death.

A small untruth gave Josh the ability to live.

Danny chose the wrong path... ...to give life to Josh.

Josh did get a life.

And Danny's only punishment was that...

...he could never witness that moment.

Josh was always that one step away from life.

And this time the life that Mascerenhas took...

...was his own.

On your marks.

What will we do if someone suddenly...

...comes in front of the car when we're driving?

We swerve the car and avoid the collision.

It says that we are born animals.

But our existence reflects in the change we bring.

That's why in the moment of danger...

...in that split second...

...our instinct is to protect and not to kill.

So to uphold and safeguard these instincts of protection...

...once again.

Senior Inspector Kabir Sawant reporting for duty.
