>> Steffy: I should have gone before now.

But I just wanted to give Phoebe some time to settle in.

Now I have a million things on my list that need attention.

>> Taylor: Yeah, but what about Rick?

I mean, hes in Paris.

Why cant he handle this?

>> Steffy: Im co-C.E.O.

Buyers, suppliers, they need to see me face-to-face

occasionally.

>> Taylor: Yeah, but why now?

Steffy, Phoebe does need to settle in, not fly halfway

across the world.

>> Steffy: Well, theyre gonna have to get used to my

lifestyle.

Its theirs, too.

>> Taylor: Honey, its just that I worry about you.

Youre taking on too much.

>> Steffy: Im fine.

I have Amelia.

She can watch the kids.

And Im really hoping that youll be able to join.

>> Taylor: Well, of course.

I dont want my little granddaughters to forget

who I am.

So, what about Liam?

Does he know about the trip?

>> Steffy: Yeah.

Yeah, I invited Hope and Liam over to the house.

I told them together that I was leaving.

>> Ridge: I saw Hopes car pull away, so I thought Id come down

and check on you.

>> Liam: Yeah.

Its, uh...

Its kind of nice whenever she gets out of the house and into

the real world.

>> Ridge: This is tough on both of you, but the focus is always

on Hope, so...

How are you?

>> Liam: Oh, thats...

Im fine.

Uh, you know, Im just...

waiting for us to get back to some semblance of normalcy,

whatever that looks like.

I mean, Hope is still not quite Hope-After-Beth but, uh...

At this point, its just waiting.

>> Ridge: And what happens to your grief while you wait?

>> Liam: Uh... Me? I...

I dont know.

I-I drive up to Mulholland and I scream into the abyss.

>> Ridge: Okay.

About taking the kids to Europe?

I have no memory of making these plans with Brooke.

>> Bill: Im starting to wonder about my own.

Its not like the mayor to be late.

>> Katie: Yeah.

I cant say the same for my sister, but she usually

texts me.

Oh...kay.

She did text me.

She is out of town on business.

So I couldnt possibly have made plans for today.

[ Cellphone chimes ] >> Bill: Huh.

Well, Emmy just texted me that my meeting was scheduled for

next month.

>> Katie: What is going on?

[ Scoffs ] >> Bill: [ Sighs ]

>> Donna: So both Bill and Katie are going to Il Giardino?

>> Wyatt: Coincidentally, they scheduled lunch meetings there.

>> Justin: At exactly the same time.

>> Sally: What are the odds?

>> Justin: You know, the mayor has a very busy schedule.

I wonder if hell be a no-show.

>> Donna: You know, its funny, Im -- Im thinking the same

thing about Brooke.

Especially because Im just remembering that shes away on

business.

I wonder if Bill and Katie will be inspired to have

lunch together instead?

>> Sally: Hmm.

>> Bill: You thinking what Im thinking?

>> Katie: Im thinking that someone is messing with us.

>> Bill: [ Chuckles ] Got to be.

You know, normally, I would be pissed if somebody was, uh,

playing with my calendar, setting me up.

But in this case...

I dont mind at all.

>> Liam: Yeah.

>> Ridge: You must have been surprised that Steffys taking

the kids out of the country.

>> Liam: A little bit.

She didnt really warn me.

>> Ridge: Did you push back?

>> Liam: No, because I-I know why shes doing it.

I mean, shes a businesswoman.

She runs an international company.

She -- she has to make appearances in Europe every now

and again, and the kids -- the kids just have to be with her.

But then theres the Hope issue.

>> Ridge: "The Hope issue"?

>> Liam: The Hope issue, which I think is part of the

reason Steffys taking the girls now.

>> Taylor: I understand you telling Liam.

Hes Kellys father.

But why do you feel the need to report to Hope?

>> Steffy: I didnt have to "report" to her.

And theres no reason to keep her out of the loop.

Yeah, I have a lot of work to do in Europe, but I also think the

separation is necessary.

>> Taylor: From Liam?

>> Steffy: From Hope.

Im worried about her attachment to the girls.

Especially Phoebe.

Mom, its not healthy.

And she needs to get this idea out of her head that Liam and I

are gonna reunite.

Hes her husband.

>> Taylor: Youre actually sitting there telling me that

you are advocating for Hope and Liam?

Why would you do such a thing?

on a good time, but Bill warned us to stop gossiping about his

love life.

>> Wyatt: [ Chuckles ] I know.

But its just so much fun.

>> Donna: Besides, its -- its not really gossiping unless he

actually has a love life.

Were just speculating on what could be.

>> Wyatt: Exactly.

Its like positive reinforcement in a way, right?

I mean, how great would it be for Will if Dad and Katie could

get the family back together?

>> Justin: You know, deep down inside, I think thats what

Bill really wants.

>> Sally: Do you have a take on where Katie stands?

>> Donna: Katie doesnt really want to talk about Bill,

but I know my sister.

I think shed love the opportunity to reunite the

family.

>> Wyatt: So you think...

theyre gonna get back together?

>> Donna: Id put my money on it.

>> Your lunch has been pre-ordered.

The selections are on your individual menus.

>> Katie: Huh. Um...

All my favorites.

>> Bill: Yeah. Mine, too.

>> Hope you enjoy.

Well, whoevers going to all this trouble, uh, better not be

a Spencer employee.

I dont like my minions having this much time on their hands.

>> Katie: Hmm.

Someone clearly is setting us up.

>> Bill: Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do.

Uh, Justin and Wyatt.

They havent been exactly subtle expressing their views about my

personal life.

>> Katie: Um, well, Donnas been dropping hints lately.

>> Bill: Hmm.

Well, whoever our mystery meddler is has very good taste

in wines.

[ Laughs ] >> Liam: I mean, Hopes

been struggling ever since we lost Beth, and shes doing that

thing where she blames herself.

>> Ridge: See, I-I hate that.

Why -- why is she blaming herself for something she had

no control over?

>> Liam: Exac-- this is what Im saying.

But the only thing that seems to make her feel any better

is time at Steffys with the girls.

In particular, Phoebe. So...

You know, Steffy and I are getting a little concerned about

the level of attachment there.

And then you add to that the fact that Hope is trying to push

Steffy and me back together again...

>> Ridge: Yeah.

Steffy told me about that.

Theres no chance of that happening, is there?

>> Liam: Uh, no.

>> Ridge: How do you feel about being separated from Kelly?

>> Liam: I dont love it.

But what am I gonna do?

Steffy needs to be in Europe.

But I -- I really appreciate her thinking about Hopes

well-being, too.

>> Ridge: And thats not a surprise, really, is it?

>> Liam: Of course not. Its...

Its a reminder of what a good person Steffy is.

>> Taylor: Im serious.

I cant believe you would push Liam away.

What are you thinking?

>> Steffy: That Hope might need a little consideration.

>> Taylor: What about your daughters?

Liam is Kellys father, and Phoebe is attaching to him.

Those little girls are the ones who need consideration.

They need to have a father in their home growing up with them.

>> Steffy: I know that you have strong feelings about

Liam and me.

>> Taylor: Because you belong together.

You should be encouraging Liam to be here with his daughters,

not pushing him off with Hope.

>> Steffy: Im not getting into this with you.

Im not.

>> Taylor: Your two little girls need stability, honey.

And I dont understand why you keep denying how much you love

Liam, because I know you do.

And if you love those little girls, if you want whats best

for them, then fight.

Fight for your family.

>> Donna: Well, you must really trust your father again if you

are letting Sally work for him after everything thats

happened.

>> Wyatt: Well, look, I-I believe Dad has changed

a little bit.

And I know that sounds crazy, but its true.

Like, he has shifted his focus back to family.

Like you said, hes trying to make up for lost time with Will.

And hes been there for Liam and me lately.

Um...

Obviously Im gonna give him a little more credit for his

attempts than Liam is, but, still.

>> Justin: You know, I-I think Liam is starting to come around.

Slowly but surely.

>> Sally: It does say a lot, though, that Bills willing to

make things right with me.

>> Wyatt: Hmm.

>> Sally: He doesnt have to do that.

>> Wyatt: Oh, he does if he wants me here.

>> Justin: Well, hey, its a gesture that the old Dollar Bill

wouldnt have made, right?

>> Donna: And you cant forget about Will and his relationship

with his father.

I mean, theyre adorable together, and that makes

Katie happy.

>> Wyatt: I know one of Dads biggest regrets is not being

there for us, like to raise us.

hes got that opportunity with Will right now.

>> Donna: Who knows what could happen over an accidental

lunch date?

And the food is delicious.

It always feels good being with you.

And we were having such a nice lunch.

>> Bill: Yeah, I-Im not gonna start harping on the guy.

I know hes still dealing with his loss.

But what he had with you and Will...

Youd have to be a fool to walk away from that.

>> Ridge: Now, dont get me wrong.

This is not me making a bid for you and Steffy.

Im just glad you remember what a remarkable woman she is.

>> Liam: Always will.

>> Steffy: Mom, I know youre concerned about the girls and

me.

You want whats best for us.

And to you, that means a father in the house full time.

>> Taylor: Specifically Liam.

>> Steffy: Yeah.

And that would be wonderful if the circumstances were

different.

But theyre not.

Liam is married to Hope, and Im not about to fight her for her

husband.

>> Taylor: He was your husband.

That only changed because of Bill, what he did.

Your daughters need Liam.

You and I have already sacrificed way too much.

Hope and Brooke are responsible for all of the losses that we

have gone through.

>> Steffy: You cant compare Hope to Brooke.

>> Taylor: Okay, Hope may not be as brazen as Brooke, but she

sure didnt care that Bill was the reason that your marriage

was in trouble.

No, she saw that as a weakness.

An opportunity. And she took it.

>> Bill: Having a meal with you brings back memories.

>> Katie: [ Sighs ] >> Bill: Used to be my favorite

time of day.

Sitting down to dinner, comparing notes.

>> Katie: Yeah, I was always amazed at how quickly you could

dial down your intensity.

>> Bill: Ah... [ Chuckles ] You get all the credit for that.

>> Katie: Mm.

>> Bill: It was your calm and your steadiness.

I mean, I am -- I am wound up all the time now.

Except when Im being Dad to Will.

>> Katie: Youre wonderful with him.

>> Katie: I have my thoughts.

>> Katie: Um, Im gonna go freshen up.

But I sometimes wonder what life would be like...

if Bill hadnt taken advantage of Steffy.

I know Phoebe isnt yours biologically, but...

shes your family.

Theres nothing more important than that.

>> Liam: Well, now youre preaching to the choir.

Steffy and I agree on that.

Wholeheartedly.

>> Steffy: Mom, I love you.

But I cant take you bashing Hope.

>> Taylor: Im not bashing Hope.

>> Steffy: You want me to destroy her marriage.

>> Taylor: No, I didnt say that.

What I said is, do what she said.

Go back to Liam and give the children the family they

deserve.

>> Steffy: At her expense.

She just lost a child, and now youre pushing me to take her

husband away?

Im not doing that.

[ Baby cries on monitor ] [ Sighs ]
