the federal courthouse,

on East Varney Street,
stood the Odeon Theatre.

From his office here,
Monte had controlled his empire

for many years.

Now, during his absence,
the empire was run

by his former lieutenant,

burlesque impresario
Lou Sultan.

All right, hold it.

I waited, Parrot.

I waited till this afternoon.

I figured if Monte got off, he'd
want to work you over himself.

But he didn't get off,

at one of Chicago's condemned
buildings.

On the following morning,
he assembled the most loyal

of his former lieutenants.

but he, he was gonna be in it
for ten grand.

He was smarter than to lock
himself out of that one.

smelling like a rose and a half.
