When I experimented
with my boyfriend,
it was slow.

about your own very
traumatic experiences.

Is that something you're
comfortable talking more about?

Yeah...

I had never been in
a intimate relationship before

and so, it was really easy
to take advantage of me

because I didn't really
know right from wrong.

For people who are
starting to have sex,

it's hard to figure out
for yourself what you want,

but you know what social media
is telling you to want.

I think I didn't know
what was normal.

What I was exposed to online
was sex coupled with violence.

And if you don't like it,
that's wrong.

In my prior relationship,
there was this pressure

to just do everything that,
like, might look cool and edgy

and, like,
you have to enjoy it.

There's a lot of portrayal...

in porn of this,
like, BDSM fantasy

and so,
if a girl says, "Stop,"

maybe that's just,

I don't know,
part of a role-play

and now the guy's,
like, saying,

"You can't tell me
what the fuck to do."

In our relationship,
there was zero communication.

You're being cut with a knife,
no choice, no say, no consent.

The "Kim" one isn't a tattoo,
it's actually a branding.

I mean, there was a TikTok
where somebody carved

their initials into each other

was able to get out
of that relationship.

It takes
experiencing real life

for you to realize how real life
is supposed to be, I guess.

or his name was going around
as someone who, um,

had not only sexually harassed,

but also sexually
assaulted girls.

There was this one boy

who had a pretty
similar plot

for all of these
different girls.

I never even
met him in person,

he just added me on Snap.

Asked if he could
take my virginity.

I left him on read,
and then he was like,

And he had, like, hit up
my friend at the same time

and she was
telling me about it.

And I was like,
"Oh, same, same, same."

Actually, it goes, like,
way back to, like, 7th grade.

The same guy started texting me
and he asked me out.

I was like, "No,"
and then he continued

to, like, kinda
harass me about it

through 9th grade,
10th grade,

he was sending me
a bunch of pictures,

like, pressuring me
to send nudes.

Then, one night,
he just sent me, like,

an unsolicited,
like, dick pic.

An-- I-It wasn't one time.

It's happened
several times with him

and he, like,
texted me on Snap.

He was like,
"I took a Viagra for you."

And I didn't even know
what that was, like,
what that meant.

[Sofia]
He hit me up, and he hit
a lot of friends I knew up.

And I was just like,
"This guy, like, needs
to get what's coming to him."

And the guys
were just kinda like,
"Let's, like, beat his ass."

an LAPD phone number

to call to make a report,

so they can tell
their own story on it.

It was shared around a lot.

I got a lot of positive
feedback like,

"Thank you
for sharing this,"

"Thank you
for doing something."

I think what you did
was incredible and I wonder

if after posting
that information,

did you hear from
some of his victims?

more than just him.

It was, like, a whole...

cascade of stories
that came out.

high schooler

Somebody made
an Instagram account

called,
"We Will Not Be Silenced"

and all of these girls DM'd,
either anonymously or not,

their stories with,
not only this kid,

but different guys.

It became a big thing.

There was no adults involved

except for that officer
that I spoke to.

It was pretty much
all this

high schooler-led movement
through social media.

It's an important thing
to talk about,

but I don't think
it changed the way men act.

I don't think it changed
the way the women felt.

For me,
I was definitely misled

by some boys choosing
to post about consent

because it was the trend
that was really huge.

The person who ended up
being my, like, abuser

was somebody who had posted
during that time about consent.

who they were,

and then, it got
progressively worse

because I feel like
I got more comfortable

with, like,
exploiting myself.

There's, like, so many
old men on social media

that are, like,
lookin' for feet pics.

My friends made
a lotta money.

Honestly, if they can
make money off selling
