there are assembled the world's four greatest heroes

created from the cosmic legends of the universe

Superman.

[train horn honking]

Wonder Woman.

Batman.

Aquaman.

And those three Junior Super Friends..

Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog.

Their mission, to fight injustice

to right that which is wrong

and to serve all mankind.

[beeping]

(male narrator) The emergency alarm

in the Hall of the Justice League

brings the Super Friends

who are on duty to the Troubalert.

"Offshore coral reef in danger of collapse.

Coast areas threatened by enormous storm waves."

(Superman) Let's get it on the SDI screen.

(male narrator) The great coral reef

which has been built up over the centuries

out of the skeletons of tiny sea organisms

stands as a barrier between the storm waves and the coast.

The wall of coral extends for hundreds of feet down

below the surface

and reaches a mile from end to end.

But something has been destroying parts of the reef

wearing it thin in places and actually breaching it.

If the whole reef should break through

large parts of it may be torn away by the force of the storm.

Giant waves would sweep in on the unprotected coastline.

I'd better repair that break in the reef

before it's too late.

[Troubalert beeping]

Attention, Super Friends.

This is Colonel Wilcox.

I'll see what's coming over the Troubalert.

A red tide is invading the southeast coast.

Immediate action is needed

because millions of fish are threatened.

This is an urgent, top-priority message.

(male narrator) The clean, blue offshore ocean water

is being invaded by a waterborne red invasion

spreading its poison.

Strange, the red tide is in the same region

that the coral reef is breaking down.

And there's a panic migration of millions of fish

almost in the same region.

Maybe they're fleeing from the red tide.

No. The Troubalert says that they're swimming

in its direction, unaware it's there.

I'd better stop them.

And I'll try to stop the red tide.

(male narrator) Unaware of the emergencies

Batman and Robin are taking Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog

on an undersea sightseeing trip

aboard the research submarine of a friend of theirs

Professor Matey.

Come aboard, my friends.

- Hey, he's nice. - Yeah, I like him already.

[barking]

- Just right to be watertight. - But this is a submarine.

What happens to the Batmobile when we dive?

- Alright! - Shall we go below?

Wow. Isn't this something?

What's the matter?

[barking]

(Marvin) 'Huh?'

Wendy!

- What's the matter? - Now they're gone.

Who's gone?

Two kids, walking on the water.

Marvin, we came for sightseeing, not daydreaming.

Let's go below.

But I wasn't daydreaming.

Was I, Wonder Dog?

[grunting]

I saw 'em. Hmm.

(Marvin) 'You know, that can't be so hard to do'

'if you've got the right equipment.'

We've got to be more careful, Zara. He saw us.

It doesn't matter, Holo. The girl didn't believe him.

Nobody will.

Let's get back to the spaceship.

(male narrator) Marvin was not daydreaming.

Zara and Holo have come from a faraway water planet.

They have stopped at planet Earth on a strange mission.

They are extracting the element silicon from the seawater

turning it from blue to gray.

Zara and Holo are water people.

Superman speeds through storm cloud and lightning

toward the reported emergency.

He arrives over the coral reef

which protects the coastal city from the stormy sea.

Already, a break in the top of the reef

is permitting the sea's fury

to move toward the beaches.

There is no time to lose.

The people in the city must be warned

that the sea is threatening them.

Superman arrives over the city.

He heads for the building which houses the television studio.

Superman, what brings you out on a day like this?

I have an urgent bulletin for you to broadcast.

Can it wait till I finish the weather forecast?

I've got good news.

The storm is breaking up.

Change that to bad news.

The reef offshore is breaking up.

There will be a disaster unless I can reinforce it.

- Warn the people. - Will do.

News flash, it has been reported that there is danger

on the coral reef which protects the city.

(male narrator) In search of rocks with which to plug

the break in the reef

Superman heads for an inland stone quarry.

But suddenly, he sees a wrecking crew

in the act of demolishing a building.

You and your crew had better get back to your families.

There's danger of the sea flooding the city.

Okay, everybody, you heard Superman.

Let's get out of here.

(male narrator) Superman analyzes the building

like a lumberjack studying a giant tree

which he has to bring down.

Then he makes his first cut.

He makes his second strike in just the right place.

The building is now properly notched

so that it will fall

on the empty lot across the street.

Flying to the top of the building

Superman hits it in order to start it swaying front to back.

The building falls exactly as Superman planned

safely into the empty lot.

Thanks, Superman.

Say, now all I have to do is clear it away.

You get back to your family. I'll clear it away for you.

(male narrator) In the face of the pounding waves

Superman begins to build a protective wall

in front of the break in the coral reef.

Superman flies back to transfer the rest of the office building

to the reef in the ocean.

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman reaches that area of the ocean

where Colonel Wilcox has reported the invasion

by the red tide.

Wonder Woman releases the Wondernet

in order to catch the red tide.

The net is gradually let down by Wonder Woman

spreading behind the transparent plane

to its full width.

Wonder Woman pulls the net through the red tide

catching it and taking it out to sea

away from the rich fishing grounds.

She's hauling the red tide away.

Well, Holo, you know it's not very good for the fish.

But what a primitive way to get rid of it.

Shall we help her?

Zara, we've got our own work to do. Let's go.

(male narrator) The gray seawater from which the silicon

has been extracted

flows upward to the ocean's surface.

The surrounding water begins to turn red.

The spaceship is causing the red tide.

Water is flowing through the system

at 80 tons per minute.

And we're extracting one pound of silicon

per minute for a total so far

1000 pounds.

Silicon tank full.

Let's get back to the lake.

I wouldn't care if we stayed on Earth a month.

I like it here. It's just like home.

Aw, the people look too much like monkeys. Let's go.

(male narrator) With the extraction from the seawater

of a load of silicon fuel completed

the spaceship heads for the surface

shoots into the air

and flies toward a nearby river delta

where it descends into a lake surrounded by hills.

The spaceship returns to the mother spaceship

in order to transfer to it the silicon fuel

which has been extracted from the ocean.

While Zara is transferring the silicon fuel

extracted from the ocean

to the mother spaceship

Holo reports to the commander of the mother spaceship.

The silicon is of good quality, ma'am.

It will have to be. We have a long way to go.

Here we are on Earth, in the solar system.

To get home, we've to go around the edge of the Milky Way

to Sagittarius.

I don't think we can be blamed

for a meteor having hit our fuel tank.

We can be blamed, though if we don't replace our fuel

as quickly as possible.

There are more than a hundred families aboard

depending on us to get them home.

Yes, ma'am. We'll get all the silicon we need, ma'am.

The emergencies on the ocean are being dealt with.

But reports indicate that the cause

of the dangerous conditions

has not yet been discovered.

Since Professor Matey's research submarine

is in the endangered area

I suggest, Batman and Robin, that you use it to investigate.

Will do, Colonel Wilcox.

(male narrator) Meanwhile, Superman has almost cleaned up

the remains of the wrecked building.

The protective wall is complete.

The city is safe.

But while looking over his work

something surprising catches Superman's attention.

Thousands of starfish cover the reef.

There has been a sudden appearance of starfish.

Why are they on the reef?

Can they have caused the break?

Are the starfish somehow connected with the red tide?

Aquaman speeds toward a new appearance of the red tide.

[dramatic music]

Aquaman warns some parrotfish of the red tide

just above them and tells them to follow him.

They obey.

Now millions more.

Drumfish, mackerel, snapper, cod,

fleeing denizens of the deep.

Aquaman warns that they are going into danger

and urges them to return to their usual feeding grounds.

They begin to swim back the way they came.

Aquaman hurries to join the other Super Friends

at the command headquarters

aboard Professor Matey's submarine.

- Who is he? - He was talking to the fish.

And swimming like one of us.

We'd better find out who he is.

Now for an inside loop. Whee!

Now a vertical bank to the left.

[howls]

Transparent plane to tower.

Request permission to land.

Roger and out. Hold on, Wonder Dog.

[howling]

(Wendy) 'Marvin, what's going on?'

Oh, gee, Wendy, you spoiled a perfect landing.

You said you were coming down.

'All the Super Friends are here.'

Coming.

(Wonder Woman) 'I towed all of the red tide'

'out to the offshore current.'

It won't come back in.

But unless the cause of the red tide

is discovered and corrected

it will just build up again.

Do you think it might be doing that already?

It's quite possible.

Then I'd better just keep sweeping the ocean

until we find the cause.

Attention, Super Friends. Attention, Super Friends.

The coastal cities send their thanks to Superman

for saving them.

However, the reported masses of starfish

covering the coral will cause new breaks.

They are actually eating the coral and must be removed.

I'll take care of it, colonel.

Can you do it without harming the starfish?

I'll think of a way.

Our latest report is that the whole chain of life

in the area of the red tide and the starfish is threatened.

A break in the sea's chain of life

can have disastrous consequences.

Species can become extinct

and man's food supply can be diminished.

Gentlemen, a great many people are depending on you.

I'd better go check on the migrating fish

I turned back.

Professor Matey, you're the expert oceanographer.

What do you suggest?

Red tide, starfish on the coral reef, migrating fish..

There may be a relationship between them.

I suggest we look into this.

(Robin) 'Where do we start?'

Where Wonder Woman first saw the red tide.

(Batman) 'Alright, we'll split up.'

'I'll stay aboard the submarine and search underwater.'

'Robin will search the surface'

'in the motorboat with Wendy and Marvin.'

You do swim, don't you, Marvin?

Like a fish.

- 'You, Wendy?' - Like a person.

[barking]

Alright, you come with us, Wonder Dog.

If they search near the red tide

they'll find our spaceship.

(Zara) And might interfere with our extracting the silicon.

Then we have to stop them from stopping us.

How? That motorboat will get to the spaceship in a few minutes.

I'll stop the motorboat. You get to the spaceship.

Move it before the submarine finds it.

We have to keep extracting the silicon or we'll never get home.

[engine revving]

(Holo) Hello there.

(Robin) Traveling torpedoes!

- We're doing 40 miles an hour. - And so is he.

Uh, how can you swim so fast?

(Holo) Just born that way, I guess.

Uh, haven't I seen you somewhere before?

(Holo) Not a chance in the world. This world, I mean.

Hey, stop for a minute. I want to talk to you.

I'd like to talk to you, but we have an emergency.

[engine revving]

(Robin) I don't believe it.

(Wendy) He can't be keeping up with us.

It's not happening.

- Look out! - Oh, no!

My name is Holo.

I'm only trying to be helpful.

You looked as though you were in a hurry.

- Searching for something? - We were till you stopped us.

We're headed for the red tide.

(Holo) Well, you're headed the wrong way.

It's been shifting with the ocean currents.

(Wendy) You mean the red tide has moved?

(Holo) Yes, it's down that way.

(Robin) Last we heard, it was this way.

- Like I said, it moved. - When?

- Yesterday. - Wrong.

Wonder Woman saw it this way this morning.

(Robin) So long, wise guy.

[squeaking]

- What's the matter? - I don't know.

Sounds to me like you lost your prop.

(Marvin) Robin, he's right.

(Holo) You must have lost it about here. I'll dive for it.

(male narrator) In order to delay the motorboat

giving Zara plenty of time to move the spaceship

from the vicinity of the red tide

Holo takes his time.

Zara arrives at the spaceship

well before Professor Matey's submarine.

She stops the extraction process.

Zara moves the spaceship away from where the extraction

has caused the red tide.

She starts for a new location, where the extraction process

will continue.

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman has been sweeping

the ocean clear of the red tide.

No red tide here.

Wonder Woman has swept it clean.

We'll dive to see if there's any sign of it below.

[burbling]

(male narrator) Batman and Professor Matey begin their search

while Superman is on his way to secure

a special mechanical device

which will pull millions of starfish off the coral reef

without hurting them.

On reaching Hollywood, Superman circles the city.

Choosing the studio lot of Galactic Productions

Superman swoops down to one of the great sound stages.

Hey there.

Say, I didn't know we were doing a Superman picture.

The fact is, I am Superman.

- For real? - 'For real.'

Well, glad to meet you. What can I do for you?

I'd like to borrow a certain machine

you have for a few hours.

And I'll need about a half-mile of electric cable.

(male #1) Horses don't skip.

(male #2) Why not? We're supposed to be a happy horse.

Thanks very much.

(male narrator) Superman speeds on his way back to the coral reef

with the mysterious machine

while Wonder Woman, in her transparent plane

flies in from the ocean to help him.

Catching the drum of electric wire on her arm

Wonder Woman starts toward shore

the wire unwinding as she goes.

Reaching an electric transmission line

Wonder Woman descends.

The machine is a Hollywood wind machine.

The wire is connected to supply the needed electricity.

The starfish, which are eating away the coral reef

begin to loosen their hold.

Without being harmed, they are lifted

and pushed back into the sea.

To delay the search for the red tide

Holo plays with the propeller from Robin's motorboat

and then leaves it underwater.

Sorry, I couldn't find the propeller.

Would you swim to shore and get someone to tow us in?

(Holo) A pleasure. Don't go away.

There's something fishy about that fella.

- What do you mean, Robin? - This.

(male narrator) Following his intuition

Robin dives overboard.

If the propeller has come loose

and dropped off, it has to be somewhere.

And then he sees it.

- You found it. - I'll bet he took it off.

Hey, why would that fella take it off?

I don't know.

(male narrator) Robin heads for his rendezvous

with Batman and Professor Matey.

Having succeeded in delaying the motorboat

Holo goes to meet Zara

where she is relocating the spaceship

in order to continue extracting the silicon.

Zara reaches a hiding place in an algae forest

miles away from where Professor Matey

and Batman are searching.

She begins the extraction.

The red tide begins to appear again.

On his way to check on the condition

of the thousands of fish

which he has sent back to their feeding grounds

Aquaman meets his old friends, the parrotfish.

They have very bad news.

The migrating fish went back to their feeding grounds

but they are starving for lack of food.

Aquaman is stunned by what he sees.

There is no sign of red tide.

The fish are not sick.

But they are weak from lack of food.

The drumfish says that the food web, the chain of life

has been cut off somewhere.

The mullet points out what Aquaman can see for himself.

The water looks clear and sterile

filtered of all the nourishment

which usually fills the seas.

The cod says that all the fish are doomed.

To flee to some unknown part of the ocean would be disastrous

and to stay here is to starve.

Aquaman knows what has to be done at once to save

the lives of these thousands and thousands of fish.

Down, down he goes. Two hundred feet.

Four hundred. Six hundred.

At 700 feet below the living depth

of the starving fish above

he reaches the ocean bottom.

Aquaman plows up the ocean bottom

which is rich in nourishment

doing the work that usually has to wait for winter storms.

Clouds of nutriment float upward to the hungry fish.

The food rising from the ocean floor

will nourish them for a while.

Is there a connection

between the famine and the red tide?

Aquaman starts back to Professor Matey's submarine

to report this new ocean trouble.

Professor Matey's submarine is cruising the area

where the red tide was last cleaned up by Wonder Woman.

Everything is normal. No sign of the red tide at all.

I don't understand. Why isn't there any sign?

Because Wonder Woman has cleaned it up.

But it should come back.

Ocean conditions don't change that quickly.

The so-called red tide is actually a mass

of living, poisonous organisms

which reproduce themselves.

Maybe we'll find some on the surface.

Alright, let's have a look.

splash

- No sign of the red tide here. - That doesn't add up.

It simply isn't like the usual red tide we run into.

[dramatic music]

I've found a new condition, famine.

All the primary food is destroyed.

[engine revving]

Anything to report, Robin?

- Nothing that makes any sense. - What do you mean?

We met a fella

who can practically stand on the ocean.

And can stay underwater almost as long as Aquaman.

[barking]

Now, what's that supposed to mean?

That this fellow can swim faster than any fish I ever--

(Aquaman) Look out!

Hold it, I think we're about to get some kind of a message.

We do have a report.

Red tide along the coast, five miles North.

We'd better find out what's causing it.

Robin, take the kids and check it out.

Let's go, professor.

(male narrator) While Superman and Wonder Woman

work to remove the starfish from the reef..

...a hundred-foot section of the reef suddenly collapses.

The whole shoreline is in danger.

The break must be plugged at once.

Superman reaches the break in the reef through which

the sea is pounding.

The whole shoreline is now endangered.

Superman sees an instant solution to the problem.

Superman summons his super-strength

to lift the wreck.

He flies with it back toward the break in the reef.

He maneuvers over it until the wreck

is poised in just the right position

then lowers it precisely where it will serve

as a temporary breakwater

to protect the threatened city.

One glance to check his handiwork

then Superman heads back to rejoin Wonder Woman

in the task of removing the starfish.

Holo finally reaches the algae forest

where Zara is continuing the extraction of silicon

from the sea.

I could have held up that motorboat all day

if I wanted to.

And that old submarine, it's so slow.

I had the spacecraft moved

hours before the old thing got there.

Why do you suppose they use that silly propeller arrangement

to drive their boats?

Anyone who ever watched a scallop move through the water

would know that jet propulsion is more efficient.

If only they had the sense to live in the sea.

After all, their planet, like ours

is three-quarters covered by water.

Yes, I've been wondering why they call it "Earth."

To each his own. Well, in another few days,

we'll have enough silicon to start home.

Shh.

[motorboat whirring]

(male narrator) The motorboat has arrived

in the area where the parrotfish reported

the presence of red tide.

But they see no sign of it.

- The motorboat. - Searching for us.

How did they know so quickly to look here?

I don't know. But maybe it's time for the motorboat

and me to play another game of chicken.

Chicken?

I mean duck. They call it "chicken."

I'll steal their propeller again.

I have a better idea.

Let's move the spaceship now.

They'll stay to study the red tide and not look for us.

Great. Let's do the extraction near the delta.

There's lots of silicon there.

Hey, there's some.

Hello, Batman, this is Robin.

- You found something? - 'Red tide.'

'Not much, but there may be more below.'

We'll go down and take a look.

It's coming up just about where we are.

- We're rid of them. - We can start extracting again.

I imagine they'll keep searching for us, won't they?

Yes. I'd better take the mini spaceship and keep an eye.

If they get too close, I'll signal you to move on.

What are Professor Matey and Batman doing down there?

Professor Matey is taking water samples for analysis.

(male narrator) Professor Matey is collecting water samples

in the area of the red tide.

Analysis may show the cause of the poisonous invasion.

But the algae forest is a good hiding place

for the mini spaceship.

Holo has entered the forest from the other side

and crossed through it

In order to spy on the submarine

and keep it in sight.

I'll run this through a test.

Look, there's the strangest-looking shellfish

I ever saw.

(Matey) 'Looks like a giant clam.'

Why would a clam be nestled in an algae forest?

Yes, it ought to be on sandy bottom.

Let's get closer.

[dramatic music]

That was no clam.

No, that was a submarine.

A very strange submarine.

Let's go after it.

There's no submarine like that in the world.

Could it be from out of this world?

A spaceship of some sort?

Yes, one that can also navigate beneath our sea.

Impossible.

We'll find that out when we catch it.

[dramatic music]

- He's going to surface. - Hang on.

That was Professor Matey's submarine.

- Chasing a scallop. - Or a flying saucer.

(male narrator) Realizing that his mini spaceship

is not fast enough

to lose the submarine

Holo decides to use his slight lead

to make his own escape.

There he goes. I'm going after him.

Aquaman said, "There he goes."

I didn't see any "he," I saw an "it."

Something with flippers instead of legs.

And operating an underwater flying saucer.

You know, I don't think we have to look any further

for the cause of the ocean trouble.

But we still have to catch him.

First I'm going to have a look

at what makes that little scallop go.

(male narrator) Holo tries to lose himself in the algae forest.

But Aquaman is not far behind.

Holo tries to escape by diving

into a deep crevice in the ocean bottom.

Down he goes. Five hundred feet.

A thousand.

Two thousand, almost into darkness.

But the maneuver doesn't work.

Aquaman has followed him down

but it is too dark to see.

Realizing that Aquaman can stand

the tremendous depth as easily as he can

Holo makes for the surface.

But Aquaman, sensing Holo's movement

in the motion of the water

goes after him.

Like a missile out of a pressure gun

Holo comes shooting out of the underwater crevice

and races away.

But Aquaman is right behind him.

Aquaman loses sight of his quarry.

Holo has disappeared.

Suddenly, Aquaman realizes the trick

that Holo has played on him

and sends out instructions to the tarpon.

Holo realizes he cannot outswim Aquaman

and heads for Zara's spaceship.

Holo returns to the surface with the hope that perhaps

on top of the water he can outdistance Aquaman.

If Holo can get to the spaceship

he'll be able to make good his escape.

There they go. That way.

I'll radio Robin to follow us.

(male narrator) Holo, racing to reach the spaceship

finds it near the entrance to the delta and dives.

Aquaman, not far behind, dives after him.

Holo descends from the surface

and succeeds in getting into the spaceship

only seconds ahead of Aquaman.

(Holo) Let's move. One of them, and he can swim like a fish

almost caught me.

Well, we have a full load of silicon.

Then let's get it to the mother ship.

(male narrator) Holo has gotten away.

Aquaman can only watch the spaceship

head for the surface of the ocean.

(male narrator) The spaceship escapes.

But Batman, following it through binoculars

sees it descending somewhere in the delta.

(Batman) 'There's Aquaman. He's heading this way.'

Stand by to pick him up.

What is it? Who is it?

Well, the man I was following wasn't born on Earth.

And his spaceship wasn't made on Earth.

One thing's for sure

it just landed somewhere in that delta.

There has to be a connection between that spaceship

and our ocean problems.

I analyzed the seawater I gathered

where the red tide developed.

All the silicon has somehow been extracted from that seawater.

Do you connect that with the red tide?

Well, it may be that taking the silicon out of the water

unbalances the chemical nature of the sea.

So that it interferes with the food supply in the sea?

Yes. If there's no silicon, there is no basic food.

Fish starve, and hungry starfish

eat and destroy coral reefs.

If, for some reason, that spaceship needed silicon..

There's only one way to check that out.

Find the spaceship.

(Aquaman) Well, it's over there in the delta.

(Robin) We'll search the streams.

The sub can navigate the rivers.

I'll cover the lakes and islands and places you can't get to.

Call Superman and Wonder Woman. We need their help.

Let's go.

(male narrator) The search for the spaceship begins

with the motorboat traveling

the shallower waterways of the delta.

Batman and Professor Matey, on the submarine

cruise the larger waterways.

The more difficult places to reach are left to Aquaman

because for him, no stream is too shallow or narrow.

Even waterfalls cannot stop him.

From the middle of a lagoon

he surveys the surrounding countryside.

But there is no sign of a spaceship having landed.

For Aquaman, it is easier to dive across a strip of land

than to walk.

But the territory to be searched is wide

and so far, not a sign of the spaceship has been seen.

But the one place which the Super Friends

have not searched is the lake

which the people from the water planet

have chosen for their hiding place.

Holo and Zara have brought their spaceship down

into its berth on top of the mother spaceship.

There, Holo reports his fears to the commander.

I've gathered only half the silicon we need

and the Earth people have found out.

They're after Zara and me.

We must have the other half in order to get home.

You must get it, and you must evade them.

They're probably searching the delta right now.

You can outwit them, Holo.

After all, they're not Supermen.

(Holo) I know. I'll do it somehow.

As quickly as you can.

The long confinement on board is hard on the young people.

(Zara) It'll take another hour to transfer

the rest of the silicon.

The commander isn't taking any chance

of running out of fuel on the way home.

We have to get the other half.

Suppose the Earth people see us.

Let's go to the top of the hill

to make sure they haven't come this far.

Alright. But it's too far to walk.

Let's ride in the legs.

Those space people must be able to make themselves invisible.

We've covered every body of water in the delta.

Maybe that's what's wrong. We haven't searched inland.

We've got the Batmobile.

Good thinking, Marvin. Let's go.

Did you see that?

To travel on land, they use wheels.

I wonder why they haven't invented

mechanical legs like we use.

'They're much more efficient.'

No intelligent being moves on wheels.

Well, what can you expect?

They also prefer to live in this hot sunlight

instead of the cool ocean.

Matey and I will wait here for Superman and Wonder Woman.

Do we go around the hill, or up and over?

We'll get a bird's-eye view from the top.

Batman, did you see that flash of light?

A reflection from something.

Hold on, everybody.

We're going straight up the hill.

They know we are up here.

Go back to the spaceship. I'll decoy them away.

There he is.

We can catch him now.

(Robin) He's doubling back.

Look out! It's the same fellow we met swimming.

- He's playing duck again. - You mean chicken.

Super Friends, we have picked up Aquaman and Matey.

Good, we need your help.

The spaceship is somewhere out in the center of the lake.

(male narrator) Over the lake

Superman uses his X-ray vision

to search the murky bottom.

Wonder Woman and Aquaman

understand Superman's signal to them.

As she had when she swept up the red tide

Wonder Woman deploys her Wondernet

billowing below and behind her.

The Wondernet spreads out as it settles into the lake.

Aquaman, waiting below, helps guide the net

as it sweeps through the water.

With the mother ship firmly trapped

Wonder Woman tows the huge craft upward from the bottom

until finally it emerges and lies beached on the shore.

The moment approaches that all have awaited.

The Super Friends rush to join each other

in anticipation of discovering

the secret of the spaceship

and its visit to Earth.

We wish to be friends.

I'm sure we could be if we got to know

and understand one another.

I'm sure we can be.

To be perfectly honest

we did not think the Earth people would mind

if we upset the ocean life.

Why?

Is it because we use the ocean

as kind of a trash can all the time?

I suppose anyone from outer space

could come to that conclusion.

But that still doesn't make it right.

People can't take what they want

without regard for the rights of others.

I must agree.

I can only say that we were desperate for silicon

for fuel to get us home.

My word, two-thirds of the sand

on the beach is silicon.

And if that silicon is removed,

it wouldn't upset the ecological balance.

It only has to be refined.

We've never developed that process

because we're water people, I suppose.

We could give you all the silicon you need.

Then all our troubles are over.

And so are ours.
