of a remote plantation
in Malaysia,

sits a mansion shrouded
in mystery and murder.

Built in the late 1800s
by the Ramsden family,

the vast home
features 99 doors,

giving it the name
"The 99-Door Mansion."

But the local shamans
will tell you,

there's another door,
the 100th door,

invisible to the naked eye.

It is a dangerous portal
that appears only at midnight

to those who know
how to open it,

allowing demons to move in
and out of our world.

Such dark spiritual energy
was established here

following a brutal
unsolved murder

that occurred inside
this house in 1948.

I'm sending my film crew there
to meet with a shaman

who has previously
summoned entities

through the 100th door.

And he's bringing
a former victim back with him

to confront the evil spirits
that may still reside here,

waiting to do
the bidding of those

who practice black magic.

to Kuala Lumpur,

the capital of Malaysia.

They're exhausted
by the travel,

but determined to explore
this exotic place

and its culture

in search of clues to reveal
what's behind the stories

of the powerful portal
awaiting them

at their destination.

It's a long drive
across the country

without rest from the airport

to the Malaysian
island state of Penang.

The sunsets and the bustling
city of George Town,

Penang State Capital,
comes to life

as my crew meets up with
a historian and translator

outside of
a local night market

where he tells us
the terrifying story

of the brutal unsolved murder

that occurred at
The 99-Door Mansion in 1948.

The mansion sits on
a 55-acre plot of land.

It was built somewhere around
the early 1840s

and was called the
Caledonia House at that time

and was built
for the Ramsdens,

one of the wealthiest
English family

in Malaysia at that time
in 1948.

The son of the Ramsdens

was brutally murdered
in the mansion.

He was shot twice
at the back of his head.

[gunshots]

After John Saint Maur
was brutally murdered
in that house,

the whole mansion
has been deemed haunted.

In general,
Malaysians do believe
in spiritual beings

that are lost,
that have not travelled back

to where they're supposed to,

that are still trapped
in our realm of the world.

[Zak] The next day
sees the crew ready
to leave the comforts

of George Town behind

and set off towards
The 99-Door Mansion.

Previously a sugar cane
and rubber tree plantation,

the new owners
of the vast fields

around the now
abandoned mansion

have converted it
into a palm oil estate
for harvesting.

The building itself
has remained empty

ever since the horrific murder
eight decades ago,

but workers
are still in its fields

and have stories of ghosts
and apparitions to share.

As my crew arrives
at the location,

they meet with
a husband and wife

who visited the mansion
eight years ago

with the help
of Shaman Khairul.

He performed an exorcism here
on the woman

who does not wish
to be identified.

Shaman Khairul believes
that The 99-Door Mansion

contains a portal,
which he calls the 100th Door.

This portal is well known
to the region's shamans,

both good and bad,
and they come here
to use the portal

to summon
both protective spirits

and demons into our world
to do their bidding.

Eight years ago,
Khairul believes

the woman was possessed
by a demon

that her husband's former wife
had summoned

through this very portal
to attack her.

But the portal works
both ways,

so back then
Khairul brought her here
to perform an exorcism

and to return this dark entity
back through the portal

from which it came.

The 100th Door
is a theoretical

in the black shaman books.

It will open the 100th Door,

one door that will call
a bad entity.

[Zak] The woman
is returning here now

to see if this evil entity
is still present

and whether
she is strong enough
to confront it.

As soon as she reaches
the mansion,

she is immediately affected.

what she was afraid of.

She contemplated coming here
again after nine years

because this house
has a holding on her.

when you were here last?

So the wife was not happy
about that,

so she started sending
black magic towards her

and to make sure that
she is no longer around.

So, Khairul figured out that

the entire black magic
was done in this house.

In order to get rid of it,

they had to come back
to this house.

[Chris] Immediately after
she was cured by Khairul,

she somehow developed
the third eye.

She can feel, she can sense,

and she can see
the paranormals.

Just be nice
and just ask for permission.

So it will leave us alone.

this staircase specifically...

as John Saint Maur
was walking up these stairs,

four shots
were fired upon him.

Two shots hit
right center on his head...

...and two shots missed.

And these are said to be
the bullet holes.

So, right here, the body
of the deceased was found

top part of the body here
and his legs down there.

[Zak] No one knows the reason
John Saint Maur Ramsden

was killed by his own shotgun
on that night.

[Zak] While his wife
and daughter

are thought to have survived
the ordeal,

it is believed by many locals
that the trauma of the event

may have reverberated
throughout their lives,

drawing them back here
in the afterlife

as the spirits
of a white family,

father, daughter and mother

are said to be seen here
by shamans and workers alike.

[Khairul] They've always seen
when they turn

into this walkway,

they always see
an entity standing there,

a male, a female and a child.

They just walk right there
and they disappear.

not only pierced a man's body
and the walls of this home,

but it is said to have
shattered the barrier

between reality
and some greater unknown

that my crew
hopes to make contact with.

Over the years,
most of these rooms

were used for rituals,
black magic.

So, there were blood stains
on the ground.

I'm not very sure
whether it was blood stains

from human sacrifices
or animal sacrifices.

Sometimes
they will use sacrifice.

And a long time ago,
they will use human being
as sacrifice.

So they can use that
to hurt people.

Maybe they want to kill them

or maybe they don't want them
to live happily.

[Chris] For me, this area

has the strongest energy
in the entire house.

According to Khairul,
all the main rituals

take place in this room.

Over the years,
a lot of people

have broken into the farm,

broken into the house
to perform rituals.

Those that practice
black magic.

They come here in this room,
they sit in this room

and they practice the voodoo.

Just with this candle,

just one candle
and that person,

sits here overnight
to test your willpower
and your courage.

dark magic practitioners

hope to call through here

and what might already be
trapped inside the magic?

the entities inside the estate

are growing restless
as they are discussed.

And as the hour draws closer
to midnight

when the 100th door opens,

he decides it is time
for the woman to re-enter

the place where
she experienced
so much intense activity

and claims
her third eye opened.

drawing closer perhaps
to that one special door,

the 100th door,
still calling out to her.

holding her

cannot make her move,

but she can easily
throw us away.

[Zak] It's as if the entities
within the house

were always lying in wait,
drawing her up, up,

closer to the room
where the most intense rituals

are said to occur.

So I use this stick
to knock on the floor

to call upon them.

Her body now
has been taken over

by an entity
that is here right now.

telling us where to go.

Also they point us
where the bad shaman

calling the ghost
to fight in this couple.

So some of the ghosts
that go inside her

is only a good ghost that want
to be free from this house.

So that is what we're doing.
And what we see over there

is a red candle.
So if we want to touch it,

we have to burn the candle.
Then they will come.

but it will call
all the bad entity.

It is native to Bali.

It's spoken
in the Bali palace.

It's not Indian.
It's not a common language.

Nobody speaks that language
anymore, not even in Bali.

if she knows that language?

She has no clue
what she spoke.

somewhere that I read...

So, that's the closest
we've got so far.

how genuinely fearful

Shaman Khairul is
of the energy
inside this house tonight,

that he has chosen
not to light
a candle upstairs

because he believes it could
put my crew and the woman

in a potentially
fatal situation.

to the other side
of the world,

where a different kind
of gateway lies.

And this one is in plain,
terrifying sight.

There's a ghost town
in Chile's Atacama Desert

that is so feared,
no one speaks about it.

Within this town
lies a cemetery

that is said to contain
a vampiric entity

that feeds upon
the souls of the dead

through their exposed graves,

graves that have
been desecrated

to the point
that the crosses themselves

have turned black as night.

Many believe
when you enter this town,

your soul transcends
to another dimension,

while your body
suffers the punishment.

Surrounding this netherworld
are strange, giant symbols

created to be viewed
from the sky,

and hundreds
of mysterious pits

dug deep in the desert floor.

My film crew is heading
to the edge of the world

to find out what's possessed
this cursed cemetery.

My crew arrives
in Iquique, Chile,

a tough port city
pinned between

the desert mountains
and the Pacific Ocean.

They meet up
with a psychic medium,

a Ufologist,

and a paranormal investigator

who have taken
the ultimate risk

by entering the forbidden
La Noria Cemetery at night.

They claim
they've suffered attacks

and even possessions there.

[demonic sounds]

[Zak] But,
being investigators,

they say it's worth the risk
to their own lives

to experience
this otherworldly activity,

exposing to the world
that something
very supernatural

is occurring
in one of the most
hostile places on earth.

is a former mining town

in the Atacama Desert,

the driest desert
in the world.

The town was built around
the mining of saltpeter,

a valuable mineral
that's used in gunpowder

that fueled wars
around the world.

But, a different kind
of battle took place
in this region

when a bloody workers' strike
among the area's miners
in 1907

led to the massacre
of 2,000 people,

including women and children

who had traveled from
the local mining towns
like La Noria

to organize in Iquique,

in what became known as
the Santa Maria School
massacre.

It is said
some of the victims,

including miners,
their wives
and even children

who were killed
by the Chilean army,

are buried at
La Noria Cemetery.

Maybe that's why
local medium Cony

tells my crew
she's seen the spirit
of a woman and her children

in the cemetery at La Noria.

a terrifying warning
for my crew.

She fears for their safety
going into La Noria
unprepared.

[Zak] The worry stems
from La Noria's
most dangerous being.

In South American culture,

there is a vampire entity

that resides
in and around
the Andes mountains,

known as a pishtaco.

This legend
was first referenced

in 1574 by a priest
named Cristóbal de Molina.

This cannibalistic vampire
feeds on the fat
and flesh of the dead,

which makes sense
why so many graves

are exposed here
in this hellish ground.

Pre-dating
the pishtaco vampire

is another figure located
just miles from La Noria,

near the eastern slope
of the Cerro Unita hill,

that is the largest
humanoid geoglyph
on the planet.

Researchers estimate
that the mysterious figure

was created sometime
between 800 and 1400 A.D.

The legends of Lake Titicaca
claim this geoglyph

may be connected
to the Andean deity, Tunupa,

the god of thunder
and lightning.

represent a shaman

with the power
to invoke spirits.

According to Luis,
the Ufologist,

others believe
the Atacama Giant
represents an alien being

that visited Earth
in the ancient past.

And if that's true,

what made this
extraterrestrial visit
La Noria

600 to 1200 years ago?

Is it because it's a doorway
to another dimension?

This field of study believes

that the region's ancient
human inhabitants

coexisted with
these alien beings

and left a record
of this contact

carved into
the desert floor.

Even with modern technology,

the time and effort required
to create

something of such
enormous scale
would be impressive.

But,
for an ancient civilization
to accomplish such a feat

is nearly
beyond comprehension.

Is it possible
this was achieved

through the assistance
of more advanced entities

of an aerial perspective?

In addition to the thousands
of geoglyphs in this region,

there was another
unexplained discovery here

that many still claim
was extraterrestrial.

In the late 1990s,

a collector hunting
in the ruins
near La Noria's church

discovered a tiny,
mummified skeleton,

about six inches long.

It had ten ribs on each side
instead of the normal 12,

and an elongated skull
with enlarged eye sockets.

This tiny skeleton,
referred to as
the Atacama Alien,

and nicknamed Ata,

is no longer in Chile.

It's believed to now belong
to a private collection
in Spain.

should have a skeleton
like this.

to La Noria,

there's a very odd vibe
in the van.

No one is talking.

Faces are as grim
as the gravestones.

Everyone seems to be
in some type of trance.

There is fear of
re-exposure to the entity.

We are told
the vampire's name, pishtaco,

comes from
the Quechua word "pishtay",

meaning to behead,

slit throat
or cut into pieces.

Cony claims
she and her team members

have seen the vampire being.

As the team gets closer,

the road grows rougher
and daylight is fading.

It seems only natural
to want to turn back.

Yet, the pull of curiosity,

or even the vampire itself,

drives them in.

The cemetery itself
almost looks like a trap.

How can any soul here rest

when the ground itself
is constantly overturned
and disrupted?

It is believed
the pishtaco vampire
resides underground,

entering La Noria
through these mysterious pits.

And as darkness
begins to fall,

everyone starts feeling

that whatever feeds
upon these soul
is soon to arrive.

A security guard approaches,

who is assigned to confirm
the identities of everyone

before they proceed
further into La Noria.

And at that time,
he informs them

that he and a fellow guard
just saw something in the sky

near the cemetery
over the hill.

[Pablo] He saw some lights.

Like, very big,
bright lights,

on the last peak
of the hill there.

-No, no. No.
-[Pablo] No?

It couldn't be a plane.

And then behind that,
there was a smaller one.

And he went
all the way to the left.

this interdimensional place

existing in
our material world

in the Atacama Desert,

with mysterious lights
in the sky,

the discovery of a tiny,
deformed skeleton

and a subterranean
vampiric being

trying to lure people
into the underworld.

So as the investigators
finalize preparations,

it's no surprise that
one member of their team

is having
second thoughts again

about entering the cemetery.

What are they fearing?

Aside from looters,

is something else
exhuming these bodies?

As my crew moves on,
they are shocked
by the number of skeletons,

bone fragments and skulls
lying everywhere.

Even leather shoes,
as if no one cares
for their consecration.

It is emotional.

It is terrifying.

If something truly
dark and powerful
exists in this desert,

it must reside here.

Some uncovered graves

show the remains
still fully clothed,

preserved by
the extreme dryness
of the Atacama Desert.

And over it all,
a heavy energy

that weighs on my crew
and the investigators.

Until a presence makes
itself forcefully known

in the moment.

what she believes
to be a growl,

and it's audible to
several other members
of the team

and my crew as well.

immediately tries to debunk

this growl as an animal,

but it's hard to determine
if that's the cause,

because the Atacama Desert
is so arid

that most parts can't even
sustain plant or animal life.

The group is undeterred,

and decides to split off
into two groups
to cover more ground.

Cony takes Claudio

to the area of the cemetery
where her partner
was hypnotized.

[Zak] Everyone becomes
highly concerned

when Pablo, our translator,

who is not
a paranormal investigator,

begins complaining
about chest pains.

This could be
a further warning,

aside from the growl
that everyone just heard,

and this is not
something to ignore.

One of the team members
points out

his chest pains have occurred
at the grave of Joseph Dixon,

a wealthy Englishman
who is said
to be a victim of witchcraft.

Was this entity
trying to cause him
to have a heart attack

to get another soul
trapped in La Noria?

The attacks may intensify,
as Christian, Luis
and Walter

focus their attention
on the grave of Joseph Dixon.

His grave has been
repeatedly desecrated,

perhaps as a form of ritual,

intended to draw forth
those negative energies.

Walter begins using
a specialized
LiDar-sensing camera

to see if they can capture
an image of the entity.

he just captured

a figure rising
from one of the graves
behind Luis.

And upon reviewing
his footage,

it does appear clearly
for just a moment,

Coincidentally,
at the same time,

Claudio feels
something around him,

which Cony feels
is the same dark force.

Claudio later describes it

as feeling like
wearing a heavy backpack,

pulling him down
as if into the ground.

the critical decision

to vacate the cemetery
immediately.

And in that process,
she begins to complain
of severe pain.

She then notices

something is wrong
with Claudio again,

and immediately
begins conducting

a cleansing ceremony
on him,

so he does not take this
attachment home with him.
