He had built it from a
tiny backroom speak,

impartially cheating
both high world and low.

Kalik played host every
night at his own table,

entertaining the
social extremes,

from a prominent lawyer

to a hand-tailored hoodlum
who lived by his gun.

On the night of March
2, 1932, however,

the appearance of Eliot
Ness was one extreme

Kalik had not counted on.

Ness had been brought
to the Club Tunisian

by an anonymous telephone call.

Kalik of the Club Tunisian

and paid for by The Partner,

alky which had cost
Eddie Paris his life.

I saw this car stopped
on the other side,

so I pulled up and walked
across the road and I said,

And all of a sudden
he's got a gun in his hand.
