started getting darker.

She seemed a

a darker, sadder part of her.

She would hear
things at night.

She was dealing
with psychosis.

And so, she would call the,
the chaplain on,

on post and say,
"I need you to help me.

I think demons are
trying to get me."

Clearly, she had some
serious depression.

Depression to the point where
she wanted to commit suicide...

and she made that clear.

And she wasn't
messing around,

she really wanted to die.

One night, I was laying down
on the couch, taking a nap.

And my, my older son,
Gabriel, he said,

"Daddy, something's
wrong with mommy,

she won't stop crying".

And so, I went in to see
what was wrong and she's like,

"It's over. I took a
bunch of pills, it's over".

And I said, "I'm going
to call the ambulance."

As I call the ambulance,
she grabbed a bottle of bleach

and she started drinking it,
a lot of it.

They sent her to a
military hospital nearby.

And that's when she
was put on medication.

Then after that, she was
given a medical discharge.

We tried to be normal after
everything in the army,

as much as we could, and...

things got worse.

But I think she always had
this strange interest or

obsession or relationship
with God and the devil.

She considered
herself to be, like,

an ally of God,

She says,
"I'm a human angel" and

there's demons all around her.

And I think she just
thinks that she's this

glorious person who's
so close to God.

With Sherry Shriner, I think
she was just interested in

someone who was
close to God.

And that's really
what intrigues her.

Stephen to go to the Poconos.

She told him it would be
safe from martial law,

and the Poconos
would be safe from...

New World Order
machinations and,

he could kind of establish
his base of operations there.

I would say like a patriot.

concept of prepping, survival,

Since I've known Steve

he's always talked about
being a prepper.

He always felt that
when Armageddon came,

that he would go
to Pennsylvania,

and that's how
he would survive.

That's what
Steve felt.

Steve had a couple
knives like this.

A lot of survival knives.
A lot of camping gear.

The weird thing
about Steve is, like,

he doesn't come off
creepy or illogical.

He doesn't.

But, then he would start
talking about orgone,

and this Sherry Shriner
and, like,

shapeshifters, and you've
got to protect yourself,

get right with God.
I'm like, "That's crazy".

times I would

challenge him on his theories.

And, I could tell, like,
he never really wanted to

remove himself from
those belief systems.

I always felt like, he would

believed these things,

going to change his mind.

brought Barbara into his life.

drink your pure blood.

In addition, he said that
the accounts had sent him

photographs of
his residence,

which was the most
concerning to him.

To me, they looked like images
from Google street view,

so I went onto the street view
website and I,

I navigated Laurel Drive,
where Stephen lived,

and I found that the
photos were the same,

and that's what the origin
of those photographs were.

In Mineo's case, it seemed
to me more like somebody was

playing a prank, somebody
was trying to annoy him,

somebody was
trying to harass him...

trying to scare him.

But I didn't think there was
any realistic possibility

that somebody was
trying to drink his blood.

I advised him to
contact me if he received

any additional messages...

which he never did.

When they started receiving
the death threats, like,

Stephen pretended
he took it well, but he,

he didn't
take it well at all.

When Sherry
tells him that "Dad" is

sending angels to
protect him, I think that

starts to make Stephen
feel a little bit better.

And, it's like a little
reminder to him that

Sherry is from God,
and as long as Sherry

puts in a good word with God,
he'll be protected.

They did get a
lot of support.

People would come in and
say, "Oh, you know,

we're praying for you,
Stephen."

But what I don't think ever
occurred to Stephen,

was that the threat
was coming from inside

Sherry Shriner's organization.

One day,
Sherry Shriner saw

a post on Facebook that
Barbara had made.

And the post was
about steak tartare.

And, Sherry said,
"Barbara ingests blood,

and that's something
that witches do.

Barbara is probably a
witch or a vampire,

and Stephen
should leave her."

The troll culture in
Sherry's organization

can't be underestimated.

These are vicious, vicious,
vicious people who like to

hurt other people's feelings
because they think it's fun.

Steve Mineo was so
enraptured with this cult

until they started
going after Barbara.

clicked there for Steve,

where he had Sherry
Shriner's crazy claims

up against something that
he knew to be false.

He lived with this woman.
They were in love.

in the beginning,

Stephen wanted to
clear things up.

there was a way out of it,

that this was just a
weird misunderstanding.

the truth out against her.

get what he wanted.

He started looking
elsewhere for help,

started to go really,

He wanted me to look
into her in general.

find out about her.

Then I never heard or learned
anything else about it.

The case just went dead.
