that Lyle and Eric Menendez

be sentenced to two consecutive life terms

for the brutal slaying of their parents,
Jose and Kitty Menendez.

The jury could have recommended
the death penalty,

but after three days of deliberation,

for the rest of their lives

with no chance of parole.
