The status of Jayden Daniels this week and what the plans are for him.

He's going through the injury protocol. But this is a process

that we'll just have to see how it plays out from day to day.

[Daniels] At first, I was kind of fine,

and I didn't really think anything was wrong with me.

Until I went back in there and they did a little light show.

[Daniels] When lights started flickering, I just felt like it was out of whack.

My head was hurting, I'm nauseous. I knew something wasn't right.

Was I scared? Yeah. Cause, I mean, I didn't know what it was.

It was the first concussion I've ever had.

I had never felt nothing like that.

[Kelly] Concussion protocol, you don't know what to expect in that,

because each person is different, right?

You know, we're talking about, you know, a head injury.

It looked to me like an injury

that somebody was not going to be coming back from quickly.

[interviewer] You lost a lot on that field Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

Jayden's Heisman chances are gone.

So it will be interesting to look at this team

to see how they respond with three more games

and all of their major goals off the table. That's a shame.

[reporter] How will you approach practice this week,

with Jayden being questionable?

Yeah, I mean, look, we'll take Jayden's situation day by day,

and, you know, Garrett knows that he's one snap away from getting in the game.

After that kind of hit, you always worry about

"Alright, how long is this going to be?

What kind of effects is this going to have on the rest of the season for Jayden?"

We are not a finished product, but they're working hard to get there.

I didn't come down to LSU to be good. I came here to be elite.

And our players that signed scholarship papers here,

I'm sure they do it because they want to be elite, too,

and so they're going to have to give more this week.

We're going to look back in like 20 years from now and say, like,

we did that, we were trailblazers.

But we didn't even know how good we were going to be.

We didn't know what to expect.

After NIL started, there was a whole new plethora of eyes that were on me, so,

I just didn't know what to do. And it was really hard with body image for a while.

I had a hard time balancing, you know, if I should fuel my body like a model,

if I should fuel my body like an athlete.

People like certain content from me.

I would consider myself kind of funny.

But like, people don't want to see me being funny,

people just want to see me doing my gymnastics and my lifestyle

because I've already created this brand with what works. [laughs]

[Jacobs] A question I get often is what's the difference

in an NIL deal and a social media deal. There's not.

They're influencers now. But some of the misconceptions of NIL

is that it's always about the star student athlete or the starter, if you will.

And it's not.

[Jacobs] So basically what's going to happen

where the first, like, 30 minutes is speed networking

where you can just go talk to as many businesses,

It'll be a way really for you to just meet more business professionals.

and one of those is obviously social media.

How often you post, what you post, that following count,

a certain amount of followers usually equals a certain amount of dollars.

- So, yeah. Something I enjoy. - That could for sure be a good fit.

I was making content before it was even an option to get, you know,

before brand deals and all that stuff.

That's beautiful. That's it, right there.

So I had already kind of created a little bit of a following

when TikTok kind of became a thing.

And that's kind of what made me realize,

like, okay, I can really make a name for myself.

My entrepreneur side has definitely come from my dad.

My family did well, but my parents weren't just giving me handouts.

My dad was like, you want that? Buy it. You know? Do what you got to do.

Go get it.

So I started a lawn mowing company with some of my high school friends.

[groans] I need some water!

We started taking our shirts off when we were mowing just because it was hot.

And I remember we started calling ourselves the Lawn Daddies. [laughs]

- [friend] Oh! Give me some! - [Young] We made a little Instagram.

And so we started growing.

Some of, like, the freshman girls, like their parents, will hear about us,

and like to come hire us, strictly so we take off our shirts,

so we're out there mowing, like, embarrass their daughters and stuff.

So it kind of became like a little joke. But we made good money.

Once I got into college, it was after my freshman year,

someone came in and gave, like, a PowerPoint presentation and like,

"Hey, there's this new thing, it's called NIL."

- [gun pops] - Bro, I swear I hit it.

Y'all about to get paid.

[rapid fire]

What's up, y'all, thought I'd take you through a day in the life today.

- [teammate] You need a napkin? - [Young] Yeah.

Those videos I started making just for fun, started blowing up

- and started going viral. - [notification dings]

I could be kind of a, you know, a commodity that people want.

I love making content for fun,

but let me really lock in on, like, what's trending,

like what's going to get me views because now I can get paid.

Now it's like $25,000 for a post, things like that.

It's like, man, if I do four of these, I'm making six figures, like,

just to make a couple of videos? That's when everything changed.

The NIL, it jumped, like, to a whole 'nother level that I couldn't imagine.

[man] We all want Jayden Daniels to be healthy.

We want him to play these final three games.

What I had been told was,

they expected that Jayden would be able to play on Saturday,

but you have to clear concussion protocol.

He came to practice on Tuesday

and he stood behind Coach Sloane with the script

and he went through every single play and took a mental rep.

He had a plan, and I think it set a precedent in our program

for if you want to play, here are the steps that you need to take.

[Jayden] A lot of people say I'm blessed because my symptoms went away

that Thursday before the Florida game,

so they're like, you're clear to play if you want to.

I was like, "Hell yeah I want to play."

I feel like they're having to make stuff up as we go along.

This is new for all of us.

Absolutely. Now, you also have, like Angel and Flau'jae and those kids,

they have their own NIL deals away from LSU,

But it's not something that is affecting our team.

[Wright] I know obviously there was a lot of attention on the program,

but it just feels like with that championship,

how there's just... it's like elevated so much.

[Mulkey] A lot of that is your social media, a lot of that is your NIL deals.

It's... I still say I get to coach, really, celebrities,

little kids, and even grown ups, drive hours just to come get close to them.

It's been like that all year.
