force of good ever assembled.

These are the "Super Friends."

In a frozen and desolate area of the North Pole

stands Superman's impenetrable Fortress of Solitude.

[intense music]

Everything checks out okay in sector 21.

Now to check...

It's the inter-galactic alarm.

Great Scott! It's the biggest black hole I've ever seen.

And it's headed straight for Earth.

I've got to find a way to stop it

or it will swallow up the Earth.

[intense music]

There it is!

If I can fly around it fast enough

I may be able to spin it into another dimension.

[male narrator] Unbeknownst to Superman

the black hole has absorbed deadly kryptonite.

Something's wrong. I'm losing my strength.

I've got to get away before the black hole pulls me in.

[struggling] I'm too weak to pull away.

Got to radio Earth.

[male narrator] Billions of miles away, at the Hall of Justice...

it's up to you to save the Earth from the black hole.

There's, there's nothing else I can do.

A black hole has got Superman.

We have got to help him.

No, Samurai, the safety of the Earth comes first.

That's the way Superman would have wanted. Let's go.

[male narrator] Using the warp-powered rockets the two daring Super Friends

set out to accomplish what Superman failed to do.

I have picked up the black hole on the bat-radar, Batman.

We've got to stay clear of it

or it'll drag us in like it did Superman.

Swoosh

[rumbling]

We're in the critical area.

Prepare to launch the antimatter torpedo.

Our only chance is that a direct hit into the center

of the black hole will neutralize it.

Antimatter torpedo is ready, Batman.

Steady, steady. Fire!

Swoosh

It did not work!

The black hole absorbed the antimatter.

Boom

That's not the worst of it.

It's pulling us in, too.

[rumbling]

It's got us! There's no escape!

We've got to radio Earth.

That will not be necessary, Batman.

Look! The black hole has already pulled the Earth

from it's orbit around the sun.

[male narrator] Unable to break free of its

enormous gravitational pull

the bat rocket and the planet Earth are pulled

helplessly into the mysterious depths of the black hole.

[instrumental music]

[Batman] It's incredible!

This asteroid planet must be

at the exact center of the black hole.

But what is even more incredible

is that there must be some form of life

in that structure on the cliff.

Come on, Samurai. Let's check it out.

[intense music]

There seems to be no life, Batman.

[Superman] Samurai, Batman

leave while you can.

- Superman. You're alive! - You must get out.

We're-we're powerless against the creature.

What creature?

[Superman] Batman, Samurai, run!

It's made of star energy.

That bat electrical tape might have a chance

of insulating that creature's energy.

A Samurai is trained to use equal force against an opponent.

This power is as infinite as the black hole's gravity.

[Batman] It's... impossible!

It just absorbed that entire star.

It must have absorbed fragments of kryptonite, too

and unless we can neutralize it's energy

it will absorb the Earth next.

That star creature may be powerful

but it's not strong enough

to be the source of black hole's gravity.

Then our only hope is to find that power source...

...and reverse it.

[upbeat music]

Superman, Batman, you divert the star creature.

I will find the energy source.

This bat-lightening rod will ground that billion-watt menace.

for the black hole's gravity.

The creature's been neutralized.

Samurai must have found the power source.

And the Earth? The black hole is shrinking.

I just hope some day science learns

to harness the power of a black hole.

another litter problem in the whole universe.

[male narrator] High above the city on a mountain road

Several miles off the coast of Hawaii...

...a routine naval mission is about to become a nightmare.

[dramatic music]

Slow her to 20 knots. Bring her to course 3-2-2.

[siren wailing]

Captain, the main steering is short-circuited.

We've lost control!

All systems are jammed. We can't reduce speed.

Oh, no! We're headed straight for the island of Hawaii.

[alarm blaring]

This is submarine Sea Hawk

callin' the Super Friends. Sea Hawk to Super Friends.

Emergency!

[male narrator] Moments later at the Hall of Justice.

I repeat. This is submarine Sea Hawk.

We are out of control on a collision course

with Hawaii. Hurry.

I'm in the Pacific right now

I'll take care of the submarine.

I'll fly out there and give him a hand.

[gurgling]

Put your face mask on, Black Vulcan

we're going down.

Splash

[intense music]

There's the sub.

We're five miles to the coast and closing fast, captain.

We've got five minutes before impact.

Where are the Super Friends?

We're right behind you, captain.

We'll have you stopped in a minute.

I'll stop that sub, Aquaman. Then you tow it to shore.

if I can cut the propellers off with my lightning bolts

it should stop the sub.

[crackling]

[alarm blaring]

Captain! Engine room reports flooding.

There's a gash in the bulkhead.

Great lightning! I've got to weld the hole close

before the sub goes down.

[male narrator] As Black Vulcan skillfully seals the threatening gash...

...another deadly problem arises

in the sub's nuclear reactor.

It's an overload. Everybody out of the reactor room!

[alarm blaring]

It's no use, Aquaman.

I can't risk cutting off the second prop.

That's okay, Black Vulcan.

We still have the use of my underwater friends.

[male narrator] Aided by his marine telepathy.

Aquaman summons two underwater friends.

It's working, Aquaman. The sub is slowing down.

[male narrator] Unbeknown to the Super Friends

the over loaded reactor eats through the hull

and its energy transforms Aquaman's sea-dwelling

friends into monsters of the deep...

Great Neptune!

Those sea creatures have mutated into monsters.

Creak creak

We've got to stop them before they destroy the sub.

Creak creak

Oh, no! I've got to break free.

A low voltage shock should chase that over-grown beast away.

Pew

The water's pulling me, toward its mouth.

Got to resist.

Snap

Great Atlantis! Black Vulcan's in trouble.

My only chance to get through to this beast

is with my aquatic telepathy.

I've got to free Black Vulcan

and get back before the sub crashes.

Come on, baby. Open wide!

Black Vulcan! Black Vulcan, Black Vulcan!

[screams]

Ugh! I must have slipped down the throat

and landed in the stomach.

[Black Vulcan] Aquaman, over here.

Fortunately for us I've learned a great deal

growing up in the sea. Follow me.

Judging by the wind, I'd say we're in the lungs.

That's right. Any second now we should be free.

We're two miles from shore, captain.

And headed for a crowded beach.

Impact in two minutes.

Super Friends.

There's no way to stop the sub from the outside.

Our only hope is that I can repair the damage in time.

We've got to radio ahead and warn the people on the beach.

There's no way, Aquaman.

After we radioed the Hall of Justice

our transmitter went dead.

In that case there's only one thing to do.

Impact in one and a half minutes.

- Ready torpedo tube one. - Captain?

We're going to launch Aquaman.

I should have just enough time to clear the beach.

Good luck. Fire one.

[male narrator] Seconds later, on a sun-drenched Hawaiian beach...

[Aquaman] Everyone. Everyone!

Please clear the beach! This is an emergency!

[crowd clamoring]

Hurry, Black Vulcan. We've only a minute before impact.

This wiring is badly damaged.

I don't know if I can make it in time.

Captain, we're a thousand yards off shore.

[alarm blaring]

Just a few more welds.

[male 1] Thirty seconds and closing.

That does it. Try the controls.

Reverse engines.

[rumbling]

[crowd cheering]

I've got to hand it to you, Black Vulcan

your timing's perfect.
