and Wonder Woman show no fear

when they meet up with the
terrifying, Dr. Fright.

Next, Zan and Jayna those outer
space Wonder Twins and Gleek

have to teach a lesson
about street drag racing.

Then the Super Friends must
call on all their skills

to overcome the perils of the
monster plant creatures.

And finally Batman and Robin

and special guest, Rima

battle a raging forest fire.

We will continue with the all

A warm summer night falls on Metropolis.

But unknown to the citizens below

a strange visitor is heading their way.

[dramatic music]

Mr. Thomson, what's our heading?

We're directly over
Metropolis, Dr. Fright.

Release the fear gas.

[hissing]

Help, get me down from here.

[blowing whistle]

Watch it.
I'm gonna get hurt.

- I'm afraid.
- Help!

slam

[intense music]

[hissing]

Excellent.
Just as I planned.

[male narrator] Later, at
the Hall of Justice...

[dramatic music]

Super Friends, we need your help.

A huge blimp is spraying
Metropolis with a gas

that makes people afraid of everything.

Even our own police are too
frightened to go on duty.

Great Zeus.

Why would anyone want to scare
the population of Metropolis?

I don't know, Wonder Woman.

But we better find that Blimp and fast.

[male narrator] Moments later,
Superman and Wonder Woman

begin their search for
Dr. Fright's airship.

[intense music]

Soon, my fear gas will be
spread throughout the world.

People would be too frightened
to harm anything or anyone.

No more crimes.
Total peace on Earth.

Head for the Metro stadium, A
hundred thousand football fans

are going to have a huge surprise.

[dramatic music]

We'll never find the airship
in this cloud bank.

Stop your jet, Wonder Woman.
I have an idea.

My super hearing may pickup the
sound of the blimp's engines.

[engine revving]

I've got it Wonder Woman.
Follow me.

[dramatic music]

There's the blimp, Superman.

I think it's time we paid
its owner a little visit.

Whoosh

[music continues]

At 5000 feet, you don't use a key.

Ready the fear gas canisters.

- We're nearing Metro stadium.
- Aye-aye, Captain Fright.

I suggest, you change
course, Dr. Fright.

Your plans of terror are over.

Superman, you mustn't interfere.

[hissing]

[intense music]

Ha-ha, a mighty superhero

afraid of a tiny pussy cat.

[music continues]

Our mighty man of steel

as now become a cowardly man of fear.

[sniggering]

Keep on course.

[dramatic music]

Superman? I've got to
get him out of there.

Wonder Woman.
I'll soon have you caged too.

[alarm ringing]

Sorry, fellows, we're in a rush.

Whoosh

Now we've got to get up
this ladder to my jet.

I can't do it.
I'm afraid of heights.

Grab on, Superman.
I'll climb.

[alarm ringing]

[dramatic music]

Fools, you let them get away.

[male narrator] Later, at
Metropolis science institute.

This spray should reverse
the effects of the gas.

[hissing]

Thank you, professor.

The effects of the fear gas are gone.

This antidote will also protect
you from any further gas vapor.

[hissing]

These pellets will neutralize
the rest of the fear gas.

There is little time.
Let's go.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, at Metro Stadium.

[intense music]

Release the fear gas.

[hissing]

[indistinct chattering]

This crowd isn't too rough.

We might get hurt.

Don't hurt me. Get away.

[intense music]

Dr. Fright dead ahead.

[hissing]

Arms of steel can come in handy.

Power! We've lost our power!

Ha, I see you two didn't
learn your lesson.

[hissing]

It's you who needs a lesson, Dr. Fright.

Now to neutralize the remainder
of Dr. Fright's fear gas.

[clinking]

[intense music]

[male narrator] Later, at
the science institute...

The antidote has been
distributed, Super Friends.

Everyone's back to normal.

You've ruined everything.
Don't you see what I was doing?

Man would've been docile, peaceful.

Fear is not the way to
create peace, Dr. Fright.

True. It can only be accomplished

when everyone works
together to achieve it.

[male narrator] Stay tuned, as
those Wonder Twins bring some

reckless speedsters to
a screeching finish.

racing misadventure.

A skate boarder on a pretty steep hill.

[Batman] Right into traffic.

Wow, thanks a lot.

Skate boarding is fun but you
must remember a few rules.

Right, common sense,
safety rules such as

don't skate on dangerous slopes.

Never get into traffic areas.

[male narrator] As another day of
study ends at Central High School...

These wheels of mine will

[tires screeching]

near by miniature golf course...

and more lip action.

Looks like Gleek got carried
away with his game.

[beeping] The team TroubAlert.

[male on intercom] Attention, Wonder Twins.

We've been alerted that two
teenagers are about to have

a drag race in the First
street, Factory district.

We'll get right on it.

[in unison] Wonder Twin
powers, activate.

[chattering]

[male narrator] Meanwhile, at the
First street, Factory district...

Hey, Tom, you sure you don't wanna wait

till Saturday to lose?

I'm ready right now.

[male narrator] Unknown to Tom and
Garry, A huge truck slowly heads for

the First Street, intersection.

Vroom vroom

[tires screeching]

[Jayna] We're too late.
They're already dragging.

[Zan] And heading right into
the path of that truck.

- Hey, stop!
- There's a truck ahead.

[engine revving]

[engines revving]

[intense music]

[tires screeching]

[music continues]

[gasping]

Don't move.

The dirt could give away any second.

[Jayna] It's going to fall
into that excavation pit.

[Zan] We've only got seconds.

[dramatic music]

[Jayna] Hurry, Zan. I
can't hang on forever.

[rumbling]

[Zan] I'm coming.

[Zan] Okay, everybody out. Quick.

boys for drag racing.

Ah, Somehow winning the
race wasn't worth it.

Especially after losing my car.

We're lucky, we didn't lose a lot more.

[Gleek chattering]

Well, at least Gleek hasn't
lost his sense of humor.

[mimics police siren]

[laughing]

[male narrator] Be with us, as
the Super Friends must overcome

the humanoid vegetable
monsters from the swamp.

Coming up in "The day
of plant creatures."

Hi, it's time for the first clue
to today's secret code word

in our Super Friends adventure.

As always the code word
is something that plays

a big part in the story
you're about to see.

I'm just checking the measuring lines

for the Super Friends swim event.

Now, the first part of the
code word is in this sign.

It's one of the last two words.

Meet or today.
Think about it.

I'll be back in a minute to
give you the second clue.

[theme music]

[male narrator] Big Cyprus swamp.

Deep in the Florida Everglades

where all is peaceful and silent.

Except for the scattered
cries of swamp creatures.

[screech]

[intense music]

[humming]

[buzzing]

[roaring]

[humming]

[roaring continues]

[male 1] Seems awful quiet
this morning, Lam.

[Lam] Too quiet, if you ask me.

First time ever, I didn't hear them

swamp critters chirping and cawing.

[birds shrieking]

[roaring]

[monster roaring]

No! Stay back!

[hissing]

[screaming]

[male narrator] What is this
strange, contagious life force

that turns people into zombie
like plant creatures?

And can it be stopped?

[intense music]

Slam

Help! Anyone.
This is WHQC in Cypressville.

We're-we're being invaded
by plant creatures.

Repeat. This is...

[dramatic music]

Meanwhile, deep beneath
the ocean in the Aqualab

Aquaman gives the Wonder Twins
a lecture on communication.

If man could learn to communicate better

with the animals of the sea

We could extend the food
potential of the sea floor.

Watch, with my telepathic
power I'm instructing them

to dig furrows and plant seeds
on the floor of the tank.'

[applauding]

Chomp

[laughing]

Some fisherman you are, Gleek.

Yeah, that fish almost caught you.

[beeping]

Some kind of garbled message is
coming over the emergency radio.

I'll playback the automatic tape

through the computer descrambler.

[male on radio] Help! Anyone.

We're, we're being invaded by...

[Zan] Sounds like someone's
in big trouble.

[Aquaman] Yes, and it sounds like
a job for the Super Friends.

[male narrator] Later, at the Hall of Justice.

The Super Friends have
responded to Aquaman's call.

[male on radio] We're, we're being invaded by...

That message was so faint.

No one else could possibly
have picked it up.

Holy, lost and found! How are
we gonna locate him, Batman?

We'll use the Justice
League computer satellite.

[beeping]

[whirring]

[computer] The source of the
radio signal is Cypressville.

Three miles southeast of Big
Cypress Swamp, Florida.

What could have invaded
Big Cypress Swamp?

There is only one way to find out.

And that's at Big Cypress Swamp.

Up, up and away!

[engine revving]

[whirring]

Whoosh

[male narrator] Meanwhile, the
plant creatures continue

to spread through the swamp.

Help! Help!

[plant creatures roaring]

[roaring]

[male narrator] Meanwhile, not
far away, the Super Friends

have arrived in deserted Cypressville.

What on Earth could have done this?

Whatever it was, left a calling
card of strange leaves.

[male 2] Help! Somebody, help!

- Someone's in trouble.
- Let's go.

Holy dilapidation!
What happened?

There's no sign of anyone.

Look! The cabin is covered with
more of those strange leaves.

I'll bet they have something to
do with whatever's going on.

Wait! Don't touch them.
They could be dangerous.

My Batgloves will protect me.

I'll set up the Batcopter's
batlab and analyze them.

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman
and I will each fly

over the swamp and investigate.

The micro video viewer should
tell us what we need to know.

[Zan] Jupiters!
That leaf's alive.

That leaf's more than alive,
brother dear. It's moving.

There appears to be some sort
of growing cosmic radiation.

- Cosmic radiation?
- You mean from outer space?

Exactly!

Something has given those
leaves a strange form of life.

I hope Superman and
Wonder Woman can find

a clue to what's causing it.

[male narrator] High above
in her invisible jet

Wonder Woman searches the swamp.

Wonder Woman to Super Friends.

There is no sign of movement anywhere.

But whatever it is we're looking for

has left a trail in the swamp.

And it's headed straight
for Florida City.

[male narrator] Unseen by Wonder
Woman, dozens of plant creatures

move through the thick swamp growth.

[male narrator] On the
other end of the swamp

Superman streaks through the sky

searching with his X-ray vision.

[Superman] Superman to Wonder Woman.

My X-ray vision detects something

inside an old saw mill.

It's a huge plant creature.

And he's after the mill operator.

This is a job for Superman.

[male 3] Help! Help!

Keep away from me!

Keep away!

[plant creatures roaring]

Leave them to me.

Thud thud thud

[roaring]

Oh, thank you, Superman.

I-I don't know what would
happen without you.

Oh no! Whatever it is has infected me.

Those plants are contagious.

You'll be safe now.

I've got to get back to the others.

Swoosh

[male narrator] Later, at the
Batcopter field camp...

The swamp plants have come alive.

And are turning everything
they touch into plant life.

Great, Hera.

So that's what left that
trail toward Florida City.

Ah!

Oh-yah!

Thud

We've got to find the source
of the radiation and stop it.

Right, and find an
antidote to save Superman

and the infected swamp inherits.

First, I'll radio the
authorities in Florida City

and warn them of the
approaching plant creatures.

[clicking]

The radio's jammed.
It must be the radiation.

We are needed here.

Zan, Jayna, use your Wonder Twin powers

to get to Florida City and warn them.

Right, Aquaman.
I know just the way.

Me too!

[in unison] Wonder Twin
powers, activate!

Form a rain cloud.

Zap

Shape of a pigeon.

Zap

Getting to Florida City
will be a breeze.

Cut the joke, Zan.
Let's get going.

[chattering]

Superman and I will try
to slow down the plants.

Good! Batman, Robin and I will
go back to Cypressville.

We may find someone who can
lead us to the source.

[male narrator] Later, in Cypressville...

[male 4] I tell you it
was a flying saucer.

Crashed right into the
center of the swamp.

Those things you call plant creatures

are really disguised Martians.

It wasn't a flying saucer, Aquaman.

It was a meteor and it landed
a few miles from here.

A meteor?

So that's what's creating
the plant creatures.

We've got the find it, but how?

A meteor is composed
mostly of solid iron.

When it passed through
the Earth's atmosphere

the super heating should
have magnetized it.

Exactly and my Batcompass
could lead us right to it.

[male narrator] Later, Batman,
Robin and Aquaman follow

the Batcompass through the swamp.

[Batman] The needle's pointing
Southwest. Let's go.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, miles
away, the Wonder Twins move

slowly toward Florida City.

Hey, slow down, Jayna.

I can only go as fast as the wind does.

Sorry, Zan.
We gotta get to Florida City.

[squawking]

Jayna, enemy at 4 o'clock. Watch out!

[screaming]

[chattering]

Let me go, you overgrown buzzard.

Zip

Jayna!

[squawking]

I've got to reach Jayna to
deactivate our Exor powers.

And the only way to do
it is to rain on her.

[thundering]

[Zan] Oh-oh! A slight miscalculation.

Here I come, Jayna.
Don't go away.

Splash

[Jayna] Where can I go?

[squawking]

[in unison] Wonder Twin
powers, deactivate.

Thanks for the bird bath.

What's a wonder brother for?

[laughing]

That's now what I call
a standing ovation.

[male narrator] On the other end of
the swamp, Batman, Robin and Aquaman

search for the mysterious meteor.

Look, down there.
I think I've spotted something.

It's the meteor.

Holy armadis

It's surrounded by an
army of plant creatures.

We've got to get rid of it.

We'll attach the Batcopter hoist

and fly it out of the swamp.

[male narrator] Batman is quickly
lowered into the plant infested swamp.

I've got to get this
harness on it and fast.

[male narrator] The strange meteor
stirs giving off an eerie message.

The plant creatures respond to
the meteor's weird command.

Robin, pull up!

[plant creatures roaring]

Snap

[male narrator] Is this
the end of Batman?

Can he escape the clutches of the
contagious plant creatures?

[instrumental music]

It's time for the second de-coder clue

and it's a two parter.

Remember, I told you the first
clue word was in this sign?

Now, I'll give you the next clue.

The letter "E".

Eh, this is working great.

And the thing that's
helping me pick up speed

is the clue to the last
part of the code word.

Sometimes, this is called the paddle.

But there's another name for it.

And that name is the
clue we're looking for.

See if you can figure out the
code word before I get back.

[plant creatures roaring]

I've got to stay away from
those contaminating arms.

One slip and I'm a bat-plant.

Holy slug creatures!
Batman's cornered.

I'm going down on the Batcable.

[Aquaman] Batman, grab on.

[plant creatures roaring]

Thanks, Aquaman.
Those plants almost got me.

[buzzing]

[male narrator] Receiving more
strange bursts of radiation

the plant creatures form
an impeccable wall

around the meteor.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, Superman
and Wonder Woman attempt to stop

the plant creatures advance
towards Florida City.

If we block this bridge

the plants won't be able to
make it across the river.

You take the right side,
I'll take the left.

This plant growth is slowing me down.

I should be able to break
these as easy as thread.

[roaring]

[clattering]

[Wonder Woman] One do it
yourself plant trap, coming up.

[Superman] It worked!
We've stopped them.

[male narrator] The Super Friends'
success may be only temporary.

For at this moment, the meteor
sends out a strange message.

[Superman] They're spreading their spores.

I've been contaminated.

Look, the plants on the other
side are coming alive.

[male narrator] With Wonder Woman
and Superman contaminated

the hoard of new plant creatures

moves toward Florida City.

[Zan] There's no time to lose, sheriff.

Hoards of plant creatures are
just outside the city limits.

[sheriff] What? They're
headed straight for us.

Attention, all units.

Start emergency road block
and evacuation immediately.

[male narrator] The Super
Friends regroup to form a plan

against the seemingly
unstoppable plant creatures.

We've got to neutralize that meteor.

Our only hope is to
capture a plant creature

bring it to the Aqualab and
try to discover an antidote.

But how are we gonna get a plant
creature down to the Aqualab?

Leave that to me.

[male narrator] With tremendous speed

Superman uses a railroad tank car

to transport one of the
contagious plant creatures...

Slam

...deep beneath the
ocean to the Aqualab.

Later, while the other
Super Friends try to stop

the plant creatures.

[monster roaring]

Aquaman and the twins are busy
trying to discover an antidote.

Jupiters! This computer has run
hundreds of tests already.

Nothing we do seems to affect
the plant's wild growth.

We'll have to contact Professor Takamoto

at Gotham University.

Your computer has fed its information

into our computers, Aquaman.

And according to my calculation,
the only possible antidote

for these plant creatures is florium.

You two stay here and guard the plant.

I'll go for the florium.

[plant creatures roaring]

[male narrator] But the only
traces of florium on Earth

are at the bottom of
the Marianas Trench.

The deepest, most dangerous
part of the Pacific Ocean.

Made it!

Not even submarines have
ascended this far before.

Florium!

clank

A giant squid!

Its grasp is like steel.

I'll need help.

[male narrator] In desperation,
Aquaman telepathically

calls for his friends of the sea.

I've got to get these florium
crystals back to the Aqualab.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, in Florida
City, the streets are deserted

as the plant creatures move onward.

And the Super Friends
continue the battle

to slow their contagious advance.

[engine revving]

[male narrator] Back at the Aqualab

the Wonder Twins await Aquaman's return.

Jupiters! I hope Aquaman
can find the florium

he needs to make the antidote.

Yeah, if we don't stop them

those plants will spread
over the whole world.

[blows a raspberry]

[roaring]

Click

[Jayna] The plant creature's free.

Stay back, Jayna, or
we'll be Wonder Plants.

[plant creature roaring]

Zan, Jayna, this way.

[plant creature roaring]

You two keep him out, while
I process the antidote.

Roger, Aquaman.

Thud thud

[both] Wonder Twins powers, activate.

[Zan] Form of an iceberg.

Form of a walrus.

Zap

[Zan] Uh, are those your teeth, Jayna?

Or are you eating two bananas?

You're cold, Zan. Real cold!

I should have the antidote any minute.

[roaring]

Yikes! He's turned me
into frozen spinach.

[both] Wonder Twins powers, deactivate!

Zap

[plant creature roaring]

Let's hope this stuff works.

[Zan] The plant's returning to normal.

sploosh sploosh

Quick, we've gotta get to the
meteor with the antidote.

[male narrator] Contacted by Aquaman

the Super Friends rush to the swamp.

Quick, Aquaman.
Give them the antidote.

There is only enough for the
two of you and the meteor.

Sploosh sploosh

My super strength is
as powerful as ever.

Good, now to take care of that meteor.

[buzzing]

[male narrator] As the Super
Friends race to the meteor

it sends another strange message.

Calling more plant creatures
to protect itself.

[engine whirring]

Fasten your seat belt, Robin.

We're in for some trick flying.

Ninety degree roll, coming up.

[engine droning]

Whoosh

Okay, magic lasso.
Do your stuff.

Thud

thud

[roaring]

Hop on, Gleek.
You're the bait.

[chattering]

Blast off!

Twang

boom

Now, to sneak past those plants

and spray that meteor with the antidote.

Time for a little gardening.

[buzzing]

This should neutralize it.

Sploosh sploosh

[Jayna] Look, it's working.

Back to where you belong!

Whoosh

boom

Wow! The world's first
backwards meteorite.

Look, Robin, the plants are changing.

[male narrator] With the
strange meteor gone

the swamp plants regained
their natural beauty.

Florida City changes back to
its usual peaceful state.

And the inhabitants of
Cypressville are surprised

to find themselves back to normal.

[Jayna] If Aquaman hadn't
found the antidote

the whole world might have
been one big garden.

And not the Garden of Eden.

There is a lesson to
learn from all of this.

Never interfere with the
balance of nature.

The results can be devastating.

It took millions of years
for the Earth to develop

a delicate system of life.

And in one careless moment,
it can all go to waste.

Someone should teach
that lesson to Gleek.

[chattering]

[Zan] Gleek's found himself
another wild plant creature.

[chattering]

Thud

[computer] This is Justice
League Computer.

Please stop poking around
with my computer wheels.

[all laughing]

[instrumental music]

Now, it's time to put the clues
to the code words together.

The first clue is a
keyword in this sign.

It was "Meet."

I gave you an "E".

And here is the clue to the
last part of the word.

An oar.

Read them together and
we get Meet-E-Oar.

Meteor.

Now, that's figured out I'll
practice for the swim league.

The fire is slowly coming under
control, Super Friends.

But those two escaped prisoners

are still somewhere in the fire area.

Robin and I'll get right on it.

with the animals

[male narrator] As Batman, Robin and
Rima speed to the burning forest...

[coughing]

Mike, look.

A deserted, ahem, forestry truck.

Let's get it.

[whirring]

Get them dynamite out of the truck.

We're ready to clear this fire off.

Hey, someone's taking our truck.

They don't know it, but they are
headed into the fire area.

The dynamite they're carrying
could explode from the heat.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, Batman, Robin
and Rima arrive in the fire area.

And learn of the prisoners' theft

of the explosive laden truck.

You've got to hurry, Batman.

There are two rangers
stranded in the fire area.

Thanks. We'll handle it.

Holy infernos, Batman.
Those rangers are trapped.

[tires screeching]

[Batman] We've got to hurry.

- Ready, Batman?
- Ready, Rima.

You've got to hurry, Super Friends.

Those two prisoners are headed towards

the Pine Lodge resort area,
and that's the next to go.

We're on our way.

[male narrator] Later, near Pine Lodge.

[engine revving]

[Mike] It's the Super
