travel into the hot desert to cool

the dangerous canyon-jumping stunts

of some reckless motorcyclists.

Then a spaceship controlled
by strange Lionmen

probes for minerals and starts
an Earth-shaking process

that splits our planet into pieces.

Will the Superfriends
meet their challenge?

Then Batman and Robin with
special guest, Black Vulcan

play pied pipers when
the city is terrified

by rampaging rats.

High atop a mountain stands

the observatory of Professor Zarkoff

who has just stumbled
upon an amazing secret.

I came as soon as I got your
message, Professor Zarkoff.

You've deciphered the hieroglyphics?

Yes. After six years, Professor Price.

The projectile is from a
giant space vehicle.

The message on it asks for help.

A computerized device known as The Power

once regulated the giant space vehicle's

entire environment and population.

Something went wrong

and The Power turned its energies

against its artificial world.

An amazing find, congratulations.

Hold your congratulations, professor.

There's more.

Have a look through the
neutron telescope.

The space vehicle.

- It's as large as a planet.
- Precisely.

[Professor Zarkoff] And a whole
civilization once existed within it.

Now, there is no life.

We must report this to
the academy at once.

I will journey to the space
vehicle and find The Power.

I'm positive it can be
modified to help Earth.

heading towards the space station.

Once we place the Strata-Ray aboard

the Earth space station

we can beam down its ray

and begin to divide the
Planet Earth into sections.

We're approaching the
space station, Lionex.

Good. Activate the
radar-jamming devices.

[whizzing]

[male narrator] The crew of the space
station continue their observation.

Commander, the radar blips vanished.

Probably a meteor burning
out, nothing to worry about.

Unseen by the space
station's electronic eyes

the Lionmen's spaceship
stealthily glides

into the docking mews

while the crew men of the space station

go about their routine assignments.

We're under attack.
Sound the alarm!

They are immobilized.
Bring the Strata-Ray.

[male narrator] Although the crew
men are immobilized in space

there is action on Earth in
Justice League headquarters.

[alarm beeps]

Uh-oh. Trouble, brother dear.
An alarm from the space station.

I'll contact the Superfriends.
Wonder Twins to Superfriends.

This is Superman, go ahead, Zan.

[Zan] Superman, we just got an

emergency alarm from the space station.

I'll check it out. You contact
the rest of the Superfriends.

[male narrator] As Superman streaks
toward the space station...

Lionex, a flying Earthling
is approaching.

have prepared a defense.

...the unsuspecting Superfriends

have gathered at the Hall of Justice.

[Batman] We still don't know who's
taken over the space station.

[Robin] Or why.

The seismograph is picking up

tiny Earth tremors all over the world.

The space station must have
something to do with that.

You're right, Superman, some kind of ray

is being beamed down
from the space station.

Holy earthquakes, what are they up to?

Only one way to find out,
come up with some means

of getting aboard the space station.

And that calls for a super-plan.

[male narrator] Later, as the space station

continues to fire down
its devastating ray.

[Lionex] Excellent.

The Earth is slowly breaking apart.

[thumping]

The force field. Superman.

He's using a lead shield
to protect himself.

Increase the force field
to full strength.

[male narrator] Superman continues to
charge into the kryptonite force-field

distracting the Lionmen's attention

as Wonder Woman, Batman and Robin

dock alongside the space
station undetected.

- So far, so good.
- Now, to find their ray device.

- Holy circuses. Lionmen.
- Right, Robin.

Space beings from another planet.

And they've taken over
the space station.

[Lionex] In a few more hours,
Earth will be ripped apart

and ready to be delivered
to our customers.

[Lionman] At a handsome profit, Lionex.

Suffering subdivisions.

They're shooting a harmless light-beam

through that huge gem lens

and the lens is creating
the Earth-splitting ray.

We've got to find a way to stop
it without hurting Earth.

- Intruders, surrender.
- We've been discovered.

My magic bracelets will reflect
their immobilizer rays.

- Stop them.
- More Lionmen. Quick, Robin.

Get a sample of that lens
while we hold them off.

[dramatic music]

made up of rare elements

found only in remote parts of the world.

counteracting its ray?

If we could get enough
of the elements needed

we could make a negative lens.

And when installed on the Strata-Ray

it would reverse the ray's effect

and pull the Earth back together.

- Two hours.

Maybe three if you can delay them.

After that, the process
becomes irreversible.

We've got to slow down Lionex's machine

until we build the new lens.

And it'll be impossible
to get back aboard

the space station undetected.

There is something those
Lionmen wouldn't suspect.

A giant space amoeba.

in their part of the universe.

And a giant amoeba would be large enough

to conceal Zan and myself.

to the captured satellite.

will be irreversible

Vulcan and the Dynamic Duo

streak toward Gotham City

the rats continue their rampage.

Batman, look, hundreds of rats

are swarming into that movie theater.

We'd better get down there fast.

The rats are attacking the
people in the balcony.

Quick, Robin, we'll swing our Bat-cables

up to the balcony and
let the people down.

Holy lifelines, those rats are

Mysterious Egg Trick.

This trick really requires the
assistance of a colleague.

Before Robin even announced the

check the purse to see that it was empty

but Batman was slipping
that egg into the purse.

And when I opened it,
voila, the mysterious egg.

Holy calamity, Batman, we'd
better get back to the show.

I can't hold on much longer.

I'll pin those rats up
with a lightning fence.

Nice work, Black Vulcan,
that should hold them.

Now, we've got to find out

what's causing those rats to go berserk.

According to the Batcomputer
readout a high-pitched

electronic sound-wave is
disturbing the rats.

Holy headlines, Batman.

That newspaper mentions a
lost electronic device.

[Batman] And it was lost
somewhere close to this area.

If it's disturbing the rats

it's got to be in the sewer system.

We'll use the Batcopter radar
to get an exact location.
