in a deep-down mystery

of sinister submarines and sea life

as they battle the Invisible Menace.

Next, those Wonder Twins and Gleek

excel with Exxor powers

for they have to bring a
dangerous initiation stunt

to a safe ending.

The Superfriends zoom up
in an all-out struggle

against invading insects
from a far-off planet

for the entire Earth is threatened

by the coming of the Arthropods.

Then, flying over jungle rainforests

Wonder Woman and Rima search
for some missing scientists

about to become victims
of the River of Doom.

Coming up...

[dramatic music]

[male narrator] Deep beneath the Atlantic
Ocean a strange submarine moves along

the treacherous sea bottom.

[Nemus] Maintain heading,
52 degrees northeast.

Aye, aye, Nemus.
The island is dead ahead.

Excellent. Professor
Fairweather should be testing

his undersea mining device
when we get there.

But the world cannot wait
for those cautious fools

to test and set up safety standards.

The mining must begin now.

One thousand meters to
island and closing.

Now to activate the vanishing ray.

Whirr

Quickly, lower your goggles.

They'll enable you to see each
other and the invisible sub.

Into the airlock.

[intense music]

[male narrator] Meanwhile, on
the small desolate island...

Your ultrasonic mining
device should be ready

for its next test in a few
hours, Professor Fairweather.

Take your time, Peterson.
We must test it slowly.

Its power could be devastating
if it gets out of control.

[intense music]

- Wha-what's happening?
- Well, Professor Fairweather...

It looks like you'll get
to test your device

sooner than you expected.

Who said that? Where are you?

- Take her out to sea, Larkin.
- Aye, captain.

[engine revving]

[male narrator] Later, at
the Hall of Justice...

That's right, Superfriends,
and whoever it was

that stole the mining device and
abducted Professor Fairweather

was i-invisible.

If the drilling device is
as dangerous as you say

we have little time to find it.

With my keen aquatic senses,
it shouldn't take too long.

Let's go.

Up, up and away!

[male narrator] In moments,
Superman and Aquaman

head for the remote island area.

While deep beneath the
water's surface...

We're approaching the
mining site, Nemus.

Very good.
Hold the sub in position.

You mustn't use the
mining device, Nemus.

It hasn't had sufficient testing yet.

Drilling with it could
prove catastrophic.

Set the controls to start
the device in one hour

or you may have to swim to the surface.

[intense music]

[male narrator] Nearby, in the
Atlantic Superman and Aquaman

continue their search for
the missing device.

Great Neptune.

That sub must have something to do

with Professor Fairweather's
disappearance.

Aquaman to Superman.

I've spotted a strange
submarine in Sector 17.

The Superfriends. They mustn't
interfere with my plans.

- Reactivate the vanishing ray.
- Aye, sir.

[Superman] We'll soon find out
who's at the bottom of this.

- It disappeared.
- They must have spotted us.

My infrared vision should be able
to pick up the sub's trail.

I see it, Aquaman. Follow me.

Impossible.
They're following us.

I'll give them a treat
they're not expecting.

[intense music]

Something just plowed into me.
It felt like a truck.

Superman, it's got me.
An invisible killer whale.

Now to send this whale
on a whale of a trip.

Now we can get to the sub.

[Nemus over speaker]
Stop, Superfriends, give up your pursuit

or Professor Fairweather will
suffer the consequences.

I think we'd better do as he says.

[laughs] Superman and Aquaman
will give us no more trouble.

[male narrator] But the Superfriends
do not give up so easily.

My infrared vision indicates

the sub is heading due west, Aquaman.

I'm right behind it, Superman,
under the cover of this manta.

I should be able to get
into the sub undetected

and rescue Professor Fairweather.

You haven't a chance against
me and my invisible crew.

You won't be invisible too long

with this octopus ink on you.

Quick, seize him.

or I'll take this sub on a
crash dive to the bottom.

In that case, you should definitely

wear your seatbelts, captain.

Aquaman, you've got to
stop the mining device.

It's set to go up in a few minutes.

[male narrator] But as Superman
heads toward the bottom

the huge mining device activates...

[device ticking]

[rumbling]

...creating a violent
undersea earthquake.

[rumbling]

I have to get up and stop that device.

This should shut it off.
Now to shut off this earthquake.

[male narrator] Later, at
the mining test site...

And now that Nemus and his crew

are in the hands of the authorities

we can get on with our testing.

Perhaps one day our device will be ready

to safely mine the ocean floor.

Hopefully operated by responsible people

not greedy individuals who
would strip the Earth

of its resources for their
own selfish interests.

Right. And I hope I never see
another invisible submarine.

[dramatic music]

on their way to the final
and most dangerous part

of initiation for one
of its new members.

Well, you passed the other test
with flying colors, Jeff.

But this last one's the biggie.

Here's the cave.

[intense music]

Just take a picture of old Slowpoke.

He's an old bear that lives in the cave.

Bear? isn't that kind of dangerous?

No, we all had to do it.

You'll be in and out of the
cave before the bear knows it.

Ha, ha. Old Slowpoke couldn't
catch his own shadow.

Well, I've come this far.

I'm in luck, he's sleeping.

for a campfire dinner.

went into Lonesome Pine Cave
to take a picture of a bear

and he's disappeared.
He could be in big trouble.

We're on our way.

Time for some Wonder Twin Wonder speed.

[both] Wonder Twin powers activate.

[gibbering]

[male narrator] In a matter
of minutes the Wonder Twins

reach Lonesome Pine Cave.

Wonder Twins.
Boy, are we glad to see you.

We searched as far as
we could in the cave

and there's no trace
of Jeff or the bear.

Let's take a look, super sis.

Let's hope we're not too late.

Sounds like it came from that tunnel.

against an invasion from
a mysterious planet.

The Arthropods are coming.

There's a place right there
where we can stop, Robin.

Hope the beds are good. I'm ready
for some serious slumber.

Hold on, robin, there's
something we have to

take care of before we check in.

I nearly forgot.

The name of the place we're
parked in front of.

And I'll give you a hint.

[dramatic music]

[male narrator] Deep in space,
on the outer rim of the galaxy

is a lone, glowing planet.

[intense music]

[all chattering]

Silence! The sentencing
will now be carried out.

You have been convicted

of crimes committed against
Insectonian society.

You are hereby banished from
this planet, never to return.

Banished?
We will not be banished.

- You cannot--
- Silence, Insecta.

You will all depart immediately
to a distant planet.

Justice is done.

[Insecta] Revenge will be mine!

You will all pay for this!
I promise you.

They are no longer our problem.

Now let the planet called
Earth deal with them.

[male narrator] The rocket,
with its cargo of prisoners

heads closer and closer
towards unsuspecting Earth.

[intense music]

[all groaning]

We cannot survive for long
in this dry heat, Insecta.

Yes, we must find a
jungle like our planet

where I can plan our revenge.

[vehicle approaching]

A transportation vehicle
carrying a weapon.

I must make it ours.

Everyone, to that tree.

[aliens squeaking]

[intense music]

Insects? No. No, get away.
Stay away!

Hiss

You are my servant.
You will obey my commands.

I will obey.

[male narrator] Later, at
the Hall of Justice...

Batman, intelligence
has just informed me

that a truck carrying an unarmed missile

has disappeared in the desert

surrounding camp government base.

Holy desolation. That's smack
in the middle of nowhere.

We'll get right on it.

I'll go with Batman.

You'll stay here and watch
the monitor screen.

Wrong. You'll watch the monitor
screen and I'll watch you.

[laughing]

[male narrator] Later, Batman
and Robin search for clues

at the site of the missile theft.

Holy arthropods, Batman.

Look at these giant insect tracks.

I've never seen anything
like these, Robin.

They may have something to
do with the missile theft.

We'll use the infrared heat follower.

It'll pick up heat traces
left by the truck.

It's picked up something, Robin.
Let's go.

Vroom

[intense music]

Holy hijackers.
The missile's gone.

Right, Robin. And here are
more of those strange tracks.

They lead right into that cave.

[aliens squeaking]

- You hear that?
- It sounds like insects.

[squeaking]

Insecta, look. Intruders.

Holy dialogue, Batman.
Those insects can talk.

That's not all they're
capable of doing. Look.

Hiss

Quick, Robin, the Bat-gas masks.

They must not get the missile.
Move it.

Vroom

Holy misguided missiles.
It accidentally fired.

Jump, Robin.

Whoosh

[dramatic music]

We're safe, but that missile is
headed straight for Gotham City.

[male narrator] Though unarmed, the
missile could still cause great damage.

Batman to Superman.

A runaway missile is
headed for Gotham City.

I'll stop it, Batman.

[dramatic music]

Time for a little detour.

I'll contact the Coast Guard
and have them pick it up.

[male narrator] Later, at
the Hall of Justice...

When we climbed to the top of the cliffs

the insects were gone.

Even after that strange
insect gas wore off

the driver was unable to tell
us anything about the insects.

Let's hope Washington
has more information.

All we've been able to find
out is that the insects

are not from this planet.

The Air Force is trying to discover

where they are from and
what their purpose is.

I suggest we find out
where they are now.

Aquaman and I will cover the coast.

Right. We'll take to the air.

Zan, Jayna, stay here
and monitor things.

You can count on me, Superman.

I'll see to that.

[male narrator] And while
Superfriends streak into action...

...Insecta and his swarm of insects

gather outside a secret
government experimental base.

The driver of the missile truck
said there's a machine here

that will guarantee my
revenge on our planet.

Insecta, I have found
a way into the base.

Good. Show me.

[aliens squeaking]

Onto the wood. We will float into
the base through that pipe.

[dramatic music]

[aliens squeaking]

This mazon energizer is the
greatest scientific advancement

since the laser.

Its power to rearrange
molecules will enable man

to change useless deserts into lakes

transform rocks into fruit trees.

But in the wrong hands, it
could be very dangerous.

- Insects.
- I'll sound the alarm.

Hiss

We are your servants.

[beeping]

Zan, we're picking up an alarm
from the experimental base.

The Superfriends' mission
is more important.

I'd better take care of this myself.

Better make that ourselves,
brother, dear. Let's go.

[Zan and Jayna] Wonder Twin powers activate.

[male narrator] Later, we find Zan
has changed to a vessel of water

and Jayna is the shape of a camel.

Oof. That trek to the
desert was a hot one.

[Gleek gibbering]

Sorry, Gleek, I'm not for drinking.

Oh.

[both] Wonder Twin powers deactivate.

Jayna, take a look at that.

[aliens squeaking]

They're coming this way. Hide.

Wonder Twins to Superfriends.
Wonder Twins to Superfriends.

This is Superman.
Go ahead, Zan.

We found the bugs, they've
overrun the government's

secret base and are removing
a strange machine.

[Superman] Stay out of sight.
We'll be right there.

[intense music]

They're leaving. And if they get
away, we may never find them.

Well, super sis, are you
thinking what I'm thinking?

For once, yes.

[both] Wonder Twin powers activate.

Form of a space insect.

Form of a vial of water.

[gibbering]

You there, hurry up and
get on board the ship.

[squeaking]

[intense music]

Zan and Gleek hid in the machine.

Begin takeoff.

Soon we will have our revenge.

[male narrator] What scheme does Insecta have

for taking revenge on his planet?

And what will become of the
Wonder Twins and Gleek?

Looks like everything's all clear.

Great. Now let's get some rest.

Not until we give the
second clue to the code.

Suffering shut-eye, Batman.
I hope it isn't a hard one.

I think you can get it, it's
the first four letters

of the name of the divisions
on the radar screen.

Those are called sectors.

The first four letters are.

Can you stay awake long enough
to guess the code word?

[yawns] I think so.

[male narrator] As the Superfriends
arrive at the secret government base...

This place is completely deserted.

And there's no sign of the
Wonder Twins anywhere.

All intruders must be dealt
with, Insecta's orders.

Here come the guards.
Maybe they can help.

- They're not coming to help.
- They're attacking.

The basic speed law is 55.

But this should slow you down.

[Robin] Holy henchmen, they've
been turned into zombies

by those insects.

- What? Superfriends.
- What happened?

Insecta and his insects, they
stole the mazon energizer.

They took a transport plane and
have Professor Evans with them.

The Twins must be on board with Insecta.

We've got to locate that plane.

[male narrator] The Superfriends
brave intolerable weather

in a desperate search to find Insecta

and the Wonder Twins.

Much later, Insecta's plane

flies over the Amazon
jungle of South America.

Ah, yes, the moist Amazon jungle.

The perfect place for us to
live and seek our vengeance.

Bring the plane down.

[Jayna] I've got to let the
Superfriends know where we are.

[beeping]

Insecta, shall I alert the other insects

to our arrival in the Amazon?

[Insecta on radio] Yes. Have them
prepare the mazon energizer.

Holy broadcasts.
It's Jayna and Insecta.

Right, Robin. And she's cleverly
informed us of her location.

Notify the other Superfriends.

[male narrator] Later, the Superfriends
approach the Amazon jungles.

[plane droning]

Screech

[male narrator] As the insect
invaders begin to unload

the mazon energizer...

...the Superfriends arrive
at the city of Macapa

near the headwaters of the Amazon.

Yes, Superfriends. I'll radio
all outposts immediately.

They will keep an eye
out for the insects.

Good. We'll split up and
fly over the jungle.

Batman, Robin and I will scout
the Amazon on the Bat-jet boat.

[male narrator] Later, at
the Amazon airstrip...

[man on radio] All posts, be on the
lookout for strange insect invaders.

Use caution. The Wonder
Twins may be with them.

I must warn Insecta.

[male narrator] Moments later,
inside an ancient Mayan pyramid

Insecta is informed of
the radio message.

So the Super Earthlings are
meddling in our affairs again.

I want lookouts posted.

Notify me immediately when
the Earth people arrive.

And find the Wonder Twins.

I think he means us, Gleek.

[gibbering]

[male narrator] Meanwhile, on the
Amazon River a lookout spots

the Bat-jet boat, and
instantly relays the message

to the other insects.

[dramatic music]

They are approaching.
Start the avalanche.

[aliens squeaking]

Holy boulders.
We're under attack.

Hang on.
I think we're gonna make it.

We've been hit.

Insecta will be pleased with us.

We've got trouble. Look.

I'll take care of the big one.
You two, get the others.

Quick, Robin, the inflatable Bat-buoys.

[intense music]

[Robin] Basket!

That should hold them
till we get ashore.

This crocodile is too strong.

I've got one chance.

[dramatic music]

That should hold him for a while.

Now to contact Superman
and Wonder Woman.

While you do that, Robin and
I will follow the insects

to their hidden lair.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, Insecta
has prepared the mazon energizer

to fire its beam at his home planet.

Banish me from my own planet,
will they? Now they shall pay.

Fire the mazon energizer.

Oh, no.
They'll find Gleek and Zan.

Wait. The intruders are
inside the mazon energizer.

Have you flipped, Jayna?

Stop talking and start changing.

[both] Wonder Twin powers deactivate.

A trick. Get them.

Professor Evans, snap out of it.

Snap

- Uh, what?-what's happening?
- Let's get out of here.

[aliens squeaking]

Quick, to the top of that pyramid.

[dramatic music]

We're trapped.

Not for long.

[both] Wonder Twin powers activate.

Form of a ski slope.

Shape of a polar bear.

Hop on, professor.

[gibbering]

Let them go for now. We have
more important work to do.

[male narrator] Later, the
Superfriends have regrouped to form

a plan against Insecta and his swarm.

And Insecta is getting ready to fire

the professor's mazon energizer
at his home planet.

There's no time to lose.

Wonder Woman and I will
put the mazon energizer

out of commission.

- Let's go.
- Up, up and away!

[dramatic music]

[male narrator]
Meanwhile, inside the ancient pyramid...

So our flying Earthlings have
come to pay us a visit.

Aim the machine.

This will teach them to
interfere with Insecta.

[zapping]

Superman to Superfriends.
We've been hit by the mazon ray.

Turning to stone.

[dramatic music]

[male narrator] Conscious but unable to move

Superman and Wonder Woman,
helpless on the jungle floor.

[Robin] Holy statues, we've got
to get that mazon energizer

to save Superman and Wonder Woman.

Our only chance is to get
into the ruins undetected.

Our Bat-boot jets will get
us there in no time.

Whoosh

This ancient canal should lead
me right into the pyramid.

If my calculations are
correct, I should be

directly below the pyramid.

The mazon energizer is aimed
at our planet, Insecta.

Good. Start countdown.

Geronimo.

The Super Earthlings. Get them.

Quick, Robin, the Bat-vacuum.

Whoosh

That should hold them harmlessly
till we round up the others.

[dramatic music]

Hiss

[muffled shouting]

Thanks, old buddy.

My one chance, I must not fail.

Hiss

Quick, the Bat-fans.

I must fire the ray before...

[male narrator] Before Insecta's
own mist subdues him

he fires one quick blast
of the mazon energizer.

But it strikes harmlessly

in the jungles of the insect planet

turning only a portion of it to stone.

Just a few more adjustments
and I think we'll have it.

[intense music]

Zap

- Thanks, professor.
- Yes.

For a while there, I
thought I was going to be

the man of stone instead
of the Man of Steel.

Now to take the insects
back where they belong.

Up, up and away!

Instead of passing your
problems on to others

you must learn to deal
with them yourselves.

We have learned our lesson, Superman.

We will try to rehabilitate
them here on our own planet.

The area of our jungle
which was turned to stone

will be a constant
reminder of our mistake.

[all cheering]

[male narrator] Later, at

Those insects learned the hard way

that the only way to solve a problem--

Is to do it yourself.

I guess you could say the insect planet

learned you can't pass the bug.

[laughs]

[clears throat]

[gibbering]

[Jayna] Speaking of bugs looks
like Gleek's got a way

to deal with the insects if
they ever come back to Earth.

[gibbering]

[grunts]

[all laughing]

[snoring]

- Hey, Robin, wake up.
- Huh?

Time to give the Superfans
the code word for the day.

[yawning] I'm ready. I knew what
it was before I went to sleep.

- Let's hear what you got.
- Okay.

The first clue was the name of

the place we're parked in front of.

- An inn.
- Good.

And the second clue was
the first four letters

of the word sector... sect.

Put "in" and "sect" together,
you get "insect."

Not too bad for someone who
fell asleep on the job.

[both laugh]

[male narrator] Highflying Wonder
Woman and Jungle Girl Rima

in a perilous search for
some missing scientists.

"The River of Doom, " coming up.

[instrumental music]

I'm sure that sunken treasure's
around here somewhere.

This is just what I need
for today's magic trick.

The trick's called the
disappearing coin illusion.

And I'll be right back to

[male narrator] The Amazon jungle.

A green cloak that hides
incredible dangers

where three geologists search
for valuable mineral deposits

vital to the future
development of Brazil.

Manuela, Santanda, I found something.

- What is it? It's beautiful.
- It's a burial necklace.

This must be sacred
Jivaro burial ground.

The Jivaros are headhunters.

We are in great danger.
Quick, put the necklace back.

We must repair the site and move on.

[intense music]

Let's get out of here.

We're too late. Jivaros.

[shouting in native language]

[male narrator] Later, at
the Hall of Justice...

Superfriends, three geologists working

in the upper Amazon are missing.
We fear for their safety.

That is Jivaro country.

Normally they are
peaceful but if angered

there is no telling what they could do.

Quick, to the invisible jet.
We've got to find them.

[male narrator] Later, as the invisible jet

flies low over the Amazon jungle.

Any sign of them, Rima?

No, but they must be
down there somewhere.

If we don't find them soon, we
may never find them at all.

[tribal music]

The Jivaros have drawn a
picture of our death sentence

in the dirt.

The River of Doom.

[Santanda] It's a raging river

infested with crocodiles and piranha.

With us tied to a log, there'll
be no chance of surviving.

The ceremony is over.
Our time is up.

[Rima] This jungle cover is
too thick, Wonder Woman.

My animal friends may be able
to help us on the ground.

I'll land the invisible
jet in that clearing.

Whoosh

[ululating]

[male narrator] At Rima's
command, the jungle animals

use their keen senses

to help locate the missing geologists.

Roar

[squawks]

[grunting]

Using their jungle telegraph

the location of the Jivaro village

is quickly relayed to Rima.

Just as I feared, they are
prisoners of the Jivaros.

- Which way is their village?
- Through those trees.

Time to tell you how to do the
disappearing coin illusion.

First, rub some wax on the
nail of your middle finger.

Put a dime in the palm of your
hand, and slowly close your hand

so that the nail with the wax
on it contacts the coin.

After a couple of magic
passes over your hand

the dime will stick to your nail

and disappear out of your hand.

To make the dime reappear

all you have to do is close your hand

and release the dime from your nail.

[dramatic music]

[male narrator] Later, the captive geologists

are about to be placed at the
mercy of the River of Doom.

Our only chance to save them is
to take the Jivaros by surprise.

We must throw them away from the log.

[Jivaros shouting]

[Rima ululating]

[shouting in native language]

Get ready, here they come.

I'll cover them with a dust screen

while you head for the river.

[inhales deeply]

[blowing air]

[all shouting]

[Santanda] They are sending us adrift.

[dramatic music]

Wonder Woman, hurry. The Jivaros
have released the log.

This canoe is my only chance.

Now to get down to the river
and help Wonder Woman.

[all shouting]

[music continues]

[male narrator] Meanwhile, the Jivaros
