[Follow Your Heart]

[Episode 25]

[Imperial Academy]

Why are you here?

I came to congratulate you.

I heard Jiang Xinbai was dismissed.

The Princess of Yuejiang title

must go to you now.

It's not up to an outsider like you

to interfere

in my family affairs.

Outsider?

We'll be a family sooner or later.

How about we

pick an auspicious day

for my father to visit to propose marriage?

I don't want to talk about this with you.

Jiang Suoluo.

There's a limit to refusing.

Let go of me!

Shameless!

Despicable!

Suoluo.

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

Your Grace.

Suoluo and I are engaged.

What's wrong with

some intimacy?

You're not married yet.

Are you qualified to marry her?

Besides...

I...

Besides,

this is the Imperial Academy.

She's the chancellor.

Respect her.

Are you really okay?

Yes.

That's good.

Brother.

What happened to your face?

I'm fine.

Just a minor injury.

Then,

why are you here?

I want to ask you

to watch Lu Bo'an for me.

If he makes any moves,

inform me immediately

You suspect

Lu Bo'an is also

involved

in Lu Dingzhao’s crime?

I can't let go

of any clue.

I've to test out

all possibilities.

Okay.

I'll help you.

Also...

Mother and Grandfather

are hot-tempered and straightforward.

Help me persuade them.

Don't let them

get more involved.

I understand.

Don't worry.

Go investigate the Zornia epidemic.

I'll hold down the fort so our family

will get through this.

If that jerk Yan Biqing

dares to bully you again,

you must tell me.

Thank you.

[Lianshan Scripture]

Lianshan Scripture?

That lost ancient scripture?

Xinbai asked me to give it to you.

He heard

you've been looking for it.

Father.

Why are you here?

Isn't this

a gift from Xinbai

for your first birthday

since he returned

from Yazhou?

He made this brush himself.

You hated it

and wanted to throw it away.

So you've been keeping it.

I was thinking

of how to persuade you

to help Xinbai.

Now it seems

i don't have to.

How do you want me to help Xinbai?

Meet the empress

and crown prince in the palace

to get them to persuade His Majesty

to reinstate Xinbai.

But we've to be cautious now.

If we advice him rashly,

it might backfire.

Yes.

I know

it's dangerous

to act rashly now.

But doing

nothing

makes me uneasy.

There's someone

who's more suitable

than the empress and crown prince.

He's also more willing to help us.

It's not that I don't want to beg His Majesty,

but it's unclear

how he wants to

deal with Xinbai.

If we bring this up now,

His Majesty

will blame us

for swaying his judgment.

In this way,

it'll be even more

unfavorable for Xinbai.

Is there no way

to turn things around?

This is the first time His Majesty's been so enraged

since he ascended the throne.

Moreover,

Xinbai

voluntarily

took all the blame.

That's not good.

What do you think

the worst-case scenario would be?

If this broken branch

is not cut in time,

the whole plant

will be destroyed.

Is it that serious?

That I've to

abandon my brother?

If His Majesty

decides to punish him severely,

I'm afraid your family

has to

draw the line with him.

Right now,

I think

Xinbai himself

has the same plan.

To be honest,

I thought Xinbai was

the most likely to become

the head

of Yuejiang Residence.

But I never thought

he'd be so impatient.

Suoluo.

The future of Yuejiang Residence

will now

depend on you.

But General Nan

died because of me after all.

Maybe

when Yan Zhizhong died,

my father

felt the same way as I do now.

What happened these days

were a huge blow to Jiang Xinbai.

What should I do

to cheer him up?

Yan Nanxing.

I want to watch fireworks.

Watch fireworks.

The beautiful ones

that are big...

and dazzling.

Look.

Those

big

and beautiful ones.

Please fill it up for me.

Sorry.

It's okay.

Besides the royal relatives,

only Xi Zhaoming

can set off fireworks in the capital.

At this critical period,

if His Majesty sees

someone setting off fireworks in the capital,

that means Jiang Xinbai's provoking him

with fireworks.

The whole Jiang family

might even be held accountable.

In that case,

let's give them

a nudge.

Mr. Jiang's been

working in Blossom Beauty these days.

Is he really

planning to freeload off Boss?

Someone who works isn't a freeloader.

Those who work should be called...

It's called stealing your job.

Get back to work.

Look.

Is it pretty?

Yes.

This is...

the dress I gave you?

Yes.

Today is an important day,

so I should dress up.

What important day?

I have a gift for you.

Just follow me.

Fireworks?

Once when you were

drunk in Heman,

you insisted on watching fireworks.

You even cried

watching them.

That's when I realized

fireworks must

mean something special to you.

I don't remember it at all.

I know

it's dark in the capital now.

But there will always be dawn.

From now on,

I'll be with you.

No matter what happens,

I'll be with you.

Now,

don't think about anything.

Let's

watch fireworks together.

Yan Nanxing.

Thank you for

preparing these fireworks for me.

But

we can't set them off tonight.

Why?

Fireworks in the capital

is a privilege

His Majesty bestowed to my father.

When I was young,

my father would take me to watch fireworks

on his birthday.

It was also here.

But later,

my father

became a sinner.

Now,

I was dismissed by His Majesty.

If we

set off fireworks now,

it might

anger His Majesty.

It doesn't matter.

Unhappy moments in life are inevitable.

Take me, for example,

I was miserable before.

I was abducted by a human trafficker

and almost

died in his hands.

Luckily, a young sir saved me.

Later, we ran away

and met a bad guy.

That young sir was taken away.

And I was poisoned.

That's how

I got this shapeshifting ailment.

♫Sit with you at night and listen to the wind♫

But

on the bright side,

♫When the wind flutters, the heart does too♫

if all these hadn't happened,

♫Step by step, no words are spoken♫

I wouldn't have met you.

Actually...

I didn't set off these fireworks.

What's going on?

Ruoqian!

Hurry up.

Come watch the fireworks!

Why are there fireworks today?

Why are there fireworks?

What's going on?

There is no event in the capital today.

Why would they set off fireworks?

Grandfather.

Father.

Where is Xinbai?

Xinbai.

Father-in-law.

The fireworks tonight...

are really beautiful.

Oh no.

Let's go.

The people reported

that someone set off fireworks here.

It's you two.

We didn't set off the fireworks.

My lord.

The evidence is here.

Do you still want to deny it?

Arrest him.

Yes!

Xinbai.

Mother.

Suoluo.

Mr. Pei.

Xinbai.

Why are you so calm?

His Majesty dismissed you

for Nan Jifeng's matter.

Even if this matter's over,

His Majesty was

being lenient to you.

But you?

You had to set off fireworks

to protest against His Majesty.

Now,

His Majesty is furious

and decided to punish you severely.

Mr. Pei.

How does

His Majesty plan to punish me?

He'll demote you to Yazhou.

Is there no turning back?

Commander Shang!

Let me explain.

I bought the fireworks

from Ghost Market.

I didn't

set them off.

Jiang Xinbai

has nothing to do with

this.

Why should I

trust you?

I know you dislike him.

But now's not the time to be spiteful.

Someone's

obviously trying to frame him.

I don't believe you can't tell.

He led himself

to this plight.

It’s all his fault.

Commander Shang.

Please.

I’m begging you.

Let me see him.

I will give you a reasonable

explanation.

Guards!

In that case,

someone planned

to frame you.

Mr. Pei.

It must be thoroughly investigated.

Xinbai.

Do you...

have any inkling?

Without evidence,

I dare not speculate.

Son.

At this point,

just say it.

Maybe

it's Lu Dingzhao

and Li Jun.

Because of Li Wufang?

But Jinwu Guards scoured the city

and couldn't find

who set off fireworks.

Since they dare to set off the fireworks,

they won't leave any trace.

It'd be foolproof.

I'll leave the capital

in a few days

to Yazhou.

Leave the capital?

Why?

If you leave the capital,

you'll never come back.

Have you forgotten about your father?

Mr. Pei.

I beg you.

Please help Xinbai.

I really can't bear

to lose another family member.

You know that.

Please.

I'll go beg Her Majesty

and the crown prince.

I'll never let my brother

go to Yazhou.

Yes.

Go on now.

Suoluo.

Calm down.

Do you want me to

watch you get framed?

Be strong.

Now,

Mother

and Grandfather

both need you.

I...

I set off the fireworks alone.

Punish me if you want.

Yan Nanxing.

Who are you?

I am Yan Nanxing.

I'm the owner of Blossom Beauty's owner.

I bought the fireworks

at Ghost Market.

I invited Jiang Xinbai to the city tower.

I've already

told Jinwu Guards this.

Jiang Xinbai's innocent.

You told Jinwu Guards?

Xinbai.

Didn't you just say...

Mr. Pei.

If I say

Yan Nanxing

set off the fireworks for me

as a marriage proposal...

can you

accept this testimony?

-Proposal? -Proposal?

Xinbai.

You...

You promised her?

Mother.

Is that still important?

Yes.

I love her.

She loves me too.

I agreed to her proposal.

So

the fireworks were a small accident

due to Xinbai and Ms. Yan's

love.

He didn't offend His Majesty.

Mr. Pei,

please plead for mercy with His Majesty.

In that case,

if it was really an accident,

there

might be a turning point.

His Majesty

understands love too.

That's great.

That's great.

I'll go to the palace

to plead for mercy now.

Suoluo.

Go to the palace tomorrow

and beg Her Majesty for mercy too.

Okay.

But

Xinbai.

Since His Majesty has made his promise,

the demotion

is inevitable.

The difference is

where you are demoted to

and when you can come back.

So...

you

have to be mentally prepared.

As long as I can be with Yan Nanxing,

I'm fine anywhere.

But...

Mr. Pei.

I have just one request.

Go ahead.

I wonder

if I can marry Yan Nanxing

before

leaving the capital.

It'd be too

unreasonable

to reject it.

Fine.

Then

I'll compromise my dignity

to beg His Majesty.

However,

you two

must remember

not to leave the capital without permission.

Thank you, Mr. Pei.

Okay.

Your Highness.

Let's get going.

Okay.

Please.

Okay.

Xinbai.

We're getting married?

This time...

It's real?

Of course.

But this time,

I really have nothing.

I can't even compare to a tea merchant.

Will you still marry me?

Yes!

Xinbai.

You suddenly want to get married.

What can I do?

Mother.

Pardon me for being unfilial.

From now on,

I'm going to draw the line

with Yuejiang Residence.

The fireworks crime

will be borne by me and my wife.

Yuejiang Residence's innocent.

Nanxing.

The Jiang family has wronged you.

For both marriages,

we couldn't give you

a decent wedding.

It's fine.

I want to marry

Jiang Xinbai,

not his family.

We'll still be close friends,

right?

Suoluo.

Xinbai, say no more.

I'll hold down the fort in Yuejiang Residence.

As for you,

I believe you've come up with

a thorough solution.

Since you won't say it,

I won't ask anymore.

I will always remember

the things you asked me to do.

Good.

If I didn't ask you

to take General Nan away,

he might...

Suoluo.

It's not your fault.

I failed to protect General Nan.

Shang.

I’d rather you

blame me than see you like this.

I trust General Nan

wouldn't want to

see you

like this.

You're right.

He was killed by a villain.

I haven't avenged him yet.

Instead of complaining here,

I'd rather go find them

and kill them.

Shang.

Shang.

Talk to Xinbai.

He might have

figured out a way.

I have nothing to talk about with him.

You really misunderstood Xinbai.

He didn't mean to stand you up.

He...

He did it for...

To go for broke.

The fireworks all over the city that night

were strange.

You know that.

Your men have been

searching inside and outside the city

for the person who set off the fireworks,

right?

It's Jinwu Guards' duty

to catch the arsonist.

I'm not helping you.

Although I was demoted,

your two-month agreement

with His Majesty

still stands.

But

it's almost expiring.

Thanks for reminding me.

If I can't find any evidence,

I'll behead them two

along with me

to face His Majesty.

Shang Bieli

Don't you want to know

what my go-for-broke plan

is?

In the morning, the magnolia stands tall; in the evening,

[Great Virtue]

it embraces the continent.

[Respect and Uphold Justice]

What are you doing?

Who are you?

Where are you taking me?

Help me!

What are you looking at?

Keep writing!

Help!

Dean Yan.

Help me, Dean Yan.

Dean Yan!

Help me!

Dean Yan!

Help me, Dean Yan.

Father-in-law.

It's a huge victory for us this time.

His Majesty

agreed to Jiang Xinbai's marriage,

but he's ordered

for him to be

demoted to Yazhou after.

Even Yuejiang Residence

can't protect him.

But

don’t drop your guard.

Jiang Xinbai

won’t give up easily.

What can he do

in such a short time?

Bo’an.

Shang Bieli.

In broad daylight...

I've been itching to hit you.

Let me tell you.

If I find the evidence

and prove that you killed my brother,

I'll skin you alive!

Stop!

Shang Bieli.

Are you crazy?

Yes.

Everyone in the capital knows I'm crazy.

Is this your first day in the capital?

I'm afraid you don't know

how crazy I am.

If you have evidence,

get the Inspection Office to arrest us.

I don’t care if you're really

crazy or not.

Trying to trick me?

It's not that easy.

Commander Shang.

Your grandsons joined hands

to sell fake calligraphy and paintings

to make money.

I won't let you off.

The person who killed my brother

must pay with their blood!

No one can escape!

Are you involved?

No.

Grandfather.

Grandfather.

Uncle asked me to do it.

And you just obeyed him?

Grandfather, I...

I was wrong.

I was wrong, Grandfather.

I was wrong.

Can't you be smarter?

Go back now.

I'll send someone

to send you the State of Miluo.

Don't drop out of school

and don't let anyone know.

Leave now!

Thank you, Grandfather.

Thank you, Grandfather.

What do you want?

How dare you get Bo’an involved?

Are you crazy?

Go report ill health to the Ministry of Personnel

and return to your hometown!

Lu Dingzhao!

I’ve been slogging for you

and obeying

your every order!

I did all

the dirty work.

Don't I get some credit?

What do you want then?

I paved the path to Tingzhou.

I want to continue

my business in Tingzhou.

Then go to Tingzhou

and stay there!

Don't ever come back!

How's it with Li Jun?

As you expected,

he reported ill health and returned home.

I've thought about it these days.

Tingzhou connects the Western states.

They paved the path to Tingzhou

to deliver Zornia out.

Since they can't sell it in Daqi,

they want to harm other states.

They have no conscience.

Be gentle.

Currently,

our first step

has worked.

We're just

lacking a revolutionary gust of wind.

And when will you

make that happen?

Relax.

Let me get married first.

Jiang Xinbai.

I believe

you love Yan Nanxing.

But

I don't believe

you're marrying her now

out of love.

Shang Bieli.

If I tell you

you got it wrong,

and I'm the Young Sir

Yan Nanxing is looking for,

will you believe

I'm sincere about

this wedding?

I'm not lying.

It's true.

In Yazhou,

I went through fire and water with Yan Nanxing.

To think

our fates are as such.

This time,

I'll never miss it again.

Does Yan Nanxing

know about this?

I warn you.

Don't shoot your mouth off.

This is between

me and her.

I want to wait

for everything to be settled

before telling her.

Who cares?

You ate them all.

Peel them properly.
