The dawn of the 20th century sees the

birth of the Republic of China. Yuan

Xihai is the last of the regal emperors.

Opposing Yuan is the father of modern

China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen. And in the north

of the country is the warlord Jiao Lung

and his forces, occupying A strategic

site needed by Dr. Sun's revolutionaries

to take over the country. Jiao Lung's men

were ruthless. They sported a plaited

cure in their hair, and this combination

of terror and distinctive hairstyle led

to them being called the Pigtail Army.

Yuan Shihai seeks to recruit Jiao Long as

an ally, and dispatches his envoy, Hu

Youguang, on a secret mission to enlist

Jiao Long's support.

Come on, here. Hold it. Come

on, here. Right here. Come back here.

Come here. Well, there he is.

Get it. Right. Come on up this

way. Up there. Come here!

Come here, you! Why, call it!

You swine you. You can't escape. I've

been waiting for you.

by some thugs.

late. Do you have to leave tonight, do

you?No. If you don't

mind, I'll stay. Leave for Dragon Town

tomorrow. Hey, you're welcome. It's been

five months since you were here. Sit down

and have a chat. Where have you been?

Oh, ohh you lead an exciting life.

So much traveling as a courier.

Hey, I've heard rumors they're going to

build a railway. You think you're

changing your job?They say,

when we have trains, the post office

will use them to transport the mail.

You'll lose your job.

Don't worry me.

ah I've seen you come out.

I wasn't hiding. Just dropped by.

Hello, Courier Ma.

I see you're still working hard. Don't

you get tired of it?

Hey, what do you want?Beat it!

Search right, right here. Hey,

hey Better go.

Look over here, huddle away! Come on,

man! Hey, listen. If you force me to

leave, they'll kill me. That's your

problem. What I did was fair. They robbed

the poor, so I steal from them. That

ain't wrong, is it?

You don't have to explain to me. Just get

lost.

Split it. 50/50.

Take it! Take it!

Wait for me!

Hey, come on. Brenda, what if I could?

You swine! Ain't gonna follow us no more.

Gonna kill ya!

They are both good friends of mine. Do me

a favor and let them go. No way.

Stay out of this.

Go! Come on.

Let's go. Get out of here. Come

on. Yaoji.

We have something to discuss.

I'm Hu Yukong. What's your name?

Kuria Ma.

Hey, let's go. Wait.

What's the hurry?Let's talk.

What about?Give me a chance. I want to

know your friend. If it's more money you

want, we're talking over.

Told you before, it's not the money. I

don't think I'm capable of delivering

goods to Xiaolong. Huh

You've got no confidence.

Someone should go with you. What do you

think?Only

things I deliver are letters. Nothing

else interests me. Excuse me.

Gotta go. Wait.

Huh

What do you think?I'm not interested.

How come? Why back out?We used to be

partners.

Robbing bandits is different. Politics,

revolution, forget it.

Excuse me. Goodbye.

Hold on. Bye-bye. Oh, bye. It wasn't

me. I swear I didn't cheat.

Believe me. You got it wrong. It wasn't

me. oh

You should get yourself a buddyguard.

I'll make you a proposition.

Postman's here. Come on out.

Postman's here.

Hello, everyone. All right, just wait

till 10, time enough for everyone.

Now, what have we got here?

All right, hold it, hold it. Take it

easy. This is for Miss Quay.

Miss Quay. This one's Mr.

Chang. There you are. Mr.

Chang. I've waited so long. I wish they

had a post

office. Chen. Chen

Hello?That's your

father, my boy. EhOh, wait a

moment. What can I do?

Ohh Are you

sure there's no mail?Are you sure?No

mail for me.

Mr. Chang.

Uh, anything, anything. Hosu and Mark,

did you bring anything for me?Sure,

something special.

Ah, if you like this, it's delicious.

It's chocolate from Canton. Mm,

yeah. This stuff looks

disgusting. We won't eat it. Come on.

Come on, let's go. You lied to us.

I don't like you.

Brother Ma.

Mr. Hu said to give you this. He's got

some cash in it.

Oh, it's you, chief. Come in.

Your pay, it's from the villagers,

for delivering the mail. Oh.

Needn't pay me yet. It's a

very small sum. You understand

there are outlaws everywhere. We don't

have much left in the way of cash.

Never mind, really. Don't worry. I won't

be leaving so soon this time.

Well, the fact is, we can't afford to

keep you as our carrier anymore.

I think you should look for another job.

This work's too dangerous.

Basically,

There

we go. Oh,

you're back again. That's

good. T. Come on. I've had no

luck. You see that? That's something. I

think I can win this time. I'm going to

double my bets. All right. All right

Come on. Mitch, over here. Thank you.

Someone's been cheating. What's happening?

Look at that.

Excuse me.

Hey, boss.

Show's over. Come on, pay up.

Hey, boss, you really punch hard. You

should pay more. Pay more?Where will I

get the money? You got the wrong person,

you idiot. HuhThere, you punk, pay up!

Wow. Wow

Go on, I'll be on my way. Oh, all right.

Brother Ma?What are you doing here at

this time of night?

My father sold my sister.

I've money.

I want to go to Shanghai. I'll buy her

back.

She's just 15. Please take me there.

Please let me go with you.

It's you.

I didn't expect you to still be here.

It's filthy. You shouldn't stay here.

What do you want?

Remember who you quang?He

wants you to work for him. He'll pay us

each 300 ounces of gold to do the job.

Well, what do you say?You change

your mind quickly. I have my reasons.

Because... Because what?He's paying a

lot. You'll risk your life. Why

not?Count me out. I'll never

succeed. I need your help.

Come on. Think of the money. Get

out of here. I'm gonna sleep.

Hey, consider it. Anyway, even at work.

What do you mean?I'm leaving in a couple

of days.

He's kidding.

Hey, Yaoji, wake up.

What is it?Shall we go and see who you

quang?HuhHuh

Knew I could count on you. Come on.

One, two, three, four...

Hey, you, get out of my way, huh

Hey, you, huhListen to me.

I want to know if a certain young man's

passed this way.

What's he look like?He's wearing a long

blue gown, and he has a gray scarf, about

the same height as my partner. There are

lots of men here. We're about his height.

He's a swindler, likes to cheat at

gambling. Oh, that guy. Well,

why didn't you say so?Yes, I know that

swine. Of course I do.

So, what about it?Hmm

Where is he then?Get your hands off me.

Just take it easy. I'll talk, I'll talk.

I'll talk. Where is he now?He left it

two days ago. Texco.

We still need another man to help us.

This man's important to us. He's an

explosives expert.

Relax, he's gonna kill you. Now get back

to work.

Hey, what you doing?Lazy, hey, get

working.

Hey, lazy fools, get to work.

Hey, big boy. That shell wants to make a

bed with ya. All right.

Hey, what's wrong?You scared?

We're puttin' our money on you.

You're about to win, he's no match for

you. Umm

What's wrong?Afraid of me?

I reckon we should change your nickname

from now on. Instead of Big

Bull, we should call you Coward

Bull. HuhHey!

Follow me!Hey. Come on, Pete. Come

on. Huh

What do you reckon?I'll

take big bowl. Hey, hey, put me on big

bowl. I'll take a wager. I don't think

big bowl. He's scared. He's a coward.

Come on.

Come

on

Hey, hey

Whoa, hey. He did it.

Boo! Hey,

now we know who's the card.

Why you here?Wanna have a chat?Ohh Yeah,

gee. Look at you! HuhHey,

come on.

Monsieur, we can help you on a personal

basis, but it must be kept a secret for

politicalreasons.

But who are these men?Ohh

They're the men. They know nothing. They

only want money. Don't you worry.

Okay.

I must leave you now. Goodbye. Goodbye.

Gentlemen, follow me.

These are the cases holding the goods I

want you to deliver to Jiao Lung. Please

come over here.

Sit down.

Now, you must complete the job in

seven days. Deliver these cases safely to

Jiao Lung at his headquarters here.

Your mission will be accomplished only

when you hand these cases to him

personally. It's vital

that you keep to the schedule.

Get there for Zhao Lung's birthday on the

20th. It's a long journey,

so start as soon as possible.

Another point. Under

no circumstances should any of you open

up the cases in an

emergency, or if you're attacked by

bandits,I want

you to blow them up.

Here's half your salary now.

You get the rest when the job's done.

When do you want the three of us to leave?

Not three of you. There'll be four.

Fujun, come in. Umm

Like you to meet Hu Jun from

Canton. He is... He is

Courier Mar. We have met.

That's very good. Hu Jun is

acquainted with many outlaws in this

region. If you encounter any trouble

with the bandits,

I'm sure he'll be of some help.

How many people know about this mission?

OhhOnly the five of us.

That guy proves too big for his boots.

Hey. It's probably going to spiders.

Come on.

What

the hell's get into that woman?

Brother Ma?

Gina?

What are you doing here?Join you. Told

you before, I can't take you. I won't

cause trouble.

The route I'm taking this time is rough.

We might be attacked. Please, Brother Ma,

I beg you to take me.

There's a train to Shanghai. Get yourself

on it.

Hey, OK.

Why are you taking those mice with you?Ha

ha. They'll come in handy, for the brick

and tree. Ohh

Hey. Wonder what's in the cases. They're

heavy.

Galler, it's a gift for Jia Lun. Must be

special.

What's that?Uh, it might be useful

later on.

There's more to this than meets the eye.

Where's that coming?No.

You should know me better than that. You

saved my life. You can count on me

right to the end.

It's cold tonight. Take this.

Don't think too much. Once they're

delivered, we collect all that cash. Hmm

Brother Ma, who takes first watch?

Hey. You can sleep. I'll take firstwatch.

Brother Ma, Brother Ma, our horse isgone.

Makeball! Where's the horse?Hmm

Damn it. Sorry I fell asleep.

Fell asleep?You mean

you were drunk. And the cases

have disappeared too, you stupid drunken

fool! How am I gonna explain this? He's

gonna kill me! Take it easy, yeah.

We'll work something out. What do you

mean by take it easy?Maybe you don't want

your share of the gold, but I sure do.

What did you say?Well, how

about give me your half?Mr. Fu, you

listen good. Rather throw it in the sea

than give it to you. You're getting on my

nerves. Get this straight. Hated you the

first time I set eyes on you. Gived you

my gold. HmmMiners are all the

same. You're a low-class swine.

Hey! Shut up. Let's find the half.

Someone else! Help me,

please! Vina, stay here. We'll look.

Hey,

wait a minute. Didn't we see this girl

before?

Yeah.

Hey, take the horse.

You all right?Are you okay?

Are you hurt?

Come on.

They're from Tiger Cliff's gang. There's

no time to talk. Let's go.

Come on. Hurry. Come on. Come

onCome onHurry.

boy, where the hell are we?It's so dark.

It's a snake, yeah. You mean there are

snakes here?You little coward, there's

no need to be yellow. A

drink?

You hammered that pretty good. But for

your skill, they'd have got away. Might

have killed us, too. You could count on

me to be alone all the time.

You're great. Here, drink up.

Hudson.

Have some. It'll keep you warm.

Umm I'm from Feng Shui town. My family's

very rich, and we're well known there. If

you're passing that way, you're all

welcome to stay with us. We have to pass

that way. We'll take up your offer. Might

as well escort you on the way. It's

dangerous for you to go along. Brother

Ma! Brother Ma!

Someone's coming this way. Might be the

bandage attorney. Get the hog. Right.

Where have you come from?Dragon Time.

Did you see two men from Tiger Cliff's

gang?No.

Check out, youngster.

Come on,

go.

Where'd you get this from?I don't know. I

just found it. Oh!

Hey! Oh!

Ain't mine!

Are you all right?Quick! Get out of here!

Go get the horse! Come

on! Come on

I'm all right. Just scratch off.

Hey. What are those two women up to?Oh,

search me. I'll never understand girls.

The RG's hurt bad. And we have to look

after the girls too. It's gonna be a

tough walk to La Ma. Stop

worrying. Three days will be there.

Tell me, you going back to Canton when

the job's done?

No, I'm planning to go to Hong Kong.

And you?No deficit plans.

Hey, why not come with me?

Take me for a fool?

We should forget the past.

Come on. Come

onCome on

You stay here. Come on.

Give me your hand.

Ohh Hey!

Forget it. We need the cases.

Did you come from the South?

Yeah.

I used to stay in Canton.

And you came all this way to deliver

these cases?

It's exciting to try my luck everywhere.

I see. Do you think you'll have luck with

this mission?

Come on, let's go.

Hurry up. Once we reach the bottom of the

hill, it'll be easier.

This leaves strange. I can't figure out.

And poo fancies are, too. Mind your own

business.

Your next stop after Feng Shui Talon's

Lama. Do you think you'll be staying

there?I doubt it.

Going back to Canton?

Yeah. But then, before going back,

I'll return to Feng Shui.

Do you have friends in Fronzo town?Nope.

So why go back there again?

Are you going to try your luck there?

Huh

Waited a long time for you. What's

wrong?Remember gambling in Canton?You

cheated, then killed a man.

Taking you in. Bringing you back, dead or

alive. I got my dirty to do, so

come quietly and no one will get hurt.

You'll have to take me.

Got it.

oh

Hey, you. You all right?I'm fine. Why'd

you get lost so mad?Just settling an old

debt. Where's Miss Lee?I

haven't seen her. I wonder where she's

going. Probably gung-ho.

The feng shui. HmmCould be.

We'll go back and check. Come on.

How'd it go?Asked everyone

in town, but no one's heard of her.

It's hard. Maybe she's left.

Never know nowadays. She was kind of

strange. Can't trust women. Let's take a

walk. Come on. Go

ahead, I'll stay.

yeah

That's enough. Right.

Enjoy yourself. That Miss Lee's weird.

If she could walk out

like that, it means she didn't care for

you. Hmm

Hear what I said?

Hey, forget her. You know what's

inside these boxes?

How the hell should I know?

I'm going for a walk.

All right. Place your bets there,

gentlemen. Hey, are you ready now?Place

your bets. Come along now. Place your

bets. Place them. All right.

Come on, place your bets. All

right, gentlemen. There we go. Open up.

Ohh Hey, no, no, no, you're

fine. Hey, excuse me.

Thank you. Thanks. Hey. All right, next

one. Let's go. Hey, enough pushing.

Hands up. It's 18. Are

you ready, gentlemen, for the next round?

Hands up the table. Hurry it up now,

gentlemen. Place your bags. There we

go. Take those cars up, Bert.

Everybody ready?Everybody ready?Come

on up on them up then. Let's see what

you've got there, gentlemen. Hurry it up.

Come on. There

we go. That's the way. Let's see those

cards. Come on, will ya?We win for

you.

Why are you following me?MeI just wanted

to have it. Sure that's all you want?

Captain.

Oh

He's tricked you. Hu Yukwang is working

for Yuan Shihai. Yuan wants to gain

absolute power. He's worked out the

plan to gain support for the warlords. He

hires Yu to take the good to Jiaolong,

who will then support Yuan against Sun

Yat-sen and his revolutionaries.

Brother Ma, it's your duty to your

country to not deliver them. They're

paying me to deliver them to Jiaolong. I

must finish the job.

Take him. Yes.

Ohh You'd be wise to give up.

Are you hurt? Are you all right?

well Come on, hurry up. We're in trouble.

What's going on?Brother

Ma! Brother Ma!

Where are the others? They're waiting for

you up ahead. Come

on.

One more time. Where

are the others hiding?

Thought you could fool me?Become a double

agent?I'll make it easy for you.

If you cooperate, you

see, only I can save you.

All of you, watch your step. It's

slippery.

You better help. Fine.

Careful.

Hey, big bull, be careful.

Hold it.

Hear that?

Come on, Harry.

Come on.

Quickly!

Harry!

Let's talk a cliffs now.

Behind you.

Get out of here! Forget the

faces!

Hey, are you all right?I'm okay.

ohh Come on, let's go!

Leave it, I'll take it. I'm all right.

Yoji, you still awake?

Be in Lamar tomorrow.

Yoji, one of the reasons I took on this

job was because you're my friend.

I hope there's no secrets you're hiding

from me. I'm not

hiding anything.

Then tell me, who murdered the terrorist?

I wasn't there. So how should I know?

Why were you so shocked when you saw his

body?Why so many questions?Don't you

trust me now?In the

beginning, you refused to take the job.

Got me, it changed your mind. Must be a

reason. Sure there is. Monty.

Who doesn't want extra cash?Tell me

what's inside those cases.

Dunno. Darker, I'll open

them.

Hey, Brother Ma, please don't open it.

You can't do that. No one's gonna stop

me. It's It's part of the bargain.

What's the matter?Brother Ma, I

beg you not to open them. Please, you

mustn't. If you do, he'll kill mysisters.

Wu Yu Kuang is a Japanese mercenary

bought to China and hired by Yuan Shihai.

He's a ninja, an expert fighter. I worked

for him once before. This time,

I turned him down, so he kidnapped

my two young sisters.

He forced me to deliver the goods and

make sure you don't cheat him. He said

he'd release my sisters when we

reach Laoma. What's in the cases, then?

Honestly, I don't know. Yun Shi Hai has

an army. Why does he need us?By using

you, he hoped to lure the revolutionaries

into a trap and then destroy them. Looks

like Ms. Li was murdered.

Wu Yukuang is an evil swine. I have no

idea what his next move will be.

So, my friends, you stay

here and I'll deliver the

cases.

But not back with sunset, take the boxes.

Just get out of here as quickly as

possible. Don't waste time. Just get out.

Remember, you're taking me

to Shanghai.

Brother Ma, careful

of who you've gone.

Yeah, women are peasants. They bore

me. Get in the way.

You must be tired. It's a long journey.

You made it in time.

HmmShe's been gone too long. I'll see if

she's OK.

Keep an eye on them. All right.

Brother! Brother! Brother! Brother!

Brother!

Brother, I'm frightened. Have you come to

take us home? You promised to. Come to

take us home. When are we going to go?

Come on. Come on, brother.

Yoji, you're a very clever man,

delivering the cases in two lots. I

think you better stay here with your

sisters while Curry Amar goes back and

gets me the other two cases.

Huh

That's great. Real good.

I never expected anything like this.

Muscle jam. Want to see its power?

Of course. You may execute the

terrorists.

Hmm

That's fantastic.

Marshal Zhao. HuhIf you're interested.

Emperor Yun can send more.

Oh, good. We've delivered a lethal weapon

to her. Marshal Zhao,

if you cooperate, there'll be more

weapons. ohh

Good. Look at that.

Yaojie, you may leave.

Mr. We'll celebrate with a party tonight.

I'm sorry, I must go. I have more work to

do for Emperor Yun.

Good job.

It's been a great day. Great

day. Come on, men, great counts.

Hey, come on, men, celebrate tonight.

Mr. Hu will celebrate with a party

tonight. I'm sorry, I must go. I have

more work to do for Emperor Yun.

Carry your ma. More heroics. I

want revenge. You're very

stupid, you fool.
