MUSIC: 'Edge Of Seventeen' by Stevie Nicks
The white-winged dove...
SONG STOPS, CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
BAND RESUMES SONG
I fly high like a jet stream
At the edge of 17
With my head in a dream
See me on the cover of a magazine
Smash up the scene
Everybody's TV screen
She a glamorous pigeon
Just, just, just, just like...
Sounds like she's singing
BOTH: The white-winged dove
Sounds like she's singing
Sounds like she's singing
Telling me to go home
Since I felt this good on my own
With my hands tied up in your ropes
Is the road I'm taking
Yeah, yeah
I don't belong to anyone
Come on
Can't fight the devil on my tongue
ALL:
ALL: Sounds like she's singing
Sounds like she's singing
ALL:
BOTH: Like a strand in the wind
I begin again
BOTH: Everybody's talking now, baby
ALL:
Sounds like she's singing
CHEERING IN DISTANCE
WILL.I.AM: Are you guys ready? CHEERING
We are back - The Voice 2024.
It's about to go down.
Blaze like a siren...
I've come back to The Voice because I love listening to new talent.
All right! THEY VOCALISE
Will is the reigning champion.
But that was last year. This is this year.
And there's a brand-new coaching line-up.
What has four legs, two heads, two seats, one button?
Here comes the double-headed chair.
It's Tom and Danny from McFly.
They have 15 consecutive top-ten singles,
seven number-one singles in the UK,
and they've sold millions of albums across the world.
WILD CHEERING
This is amazing! We've got two Toms!
LAUGHTER Oh!
This is the ultimate competition.
All the way from the United States of America,
it's LeAnn Rimes.
We tearing it down...
LeAnn Rimes is a multi-Grammy-Award-winning artist.
She has sold over 40 million singles.
How Do I Live was the most successful song of the '90s.
That was magical.
Yes!
New coaches, new competition,
new pitched battles.
It's against the law. SHE VOCALISES
We tearing it down
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
It's a big day today. THEY CHUCKLE
The Voice.
The Voice, baby. The Voice.
We've got this. We've got this, boys. Let's go. Whoo!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Welcome to The Voice 2024.
CHEERING
Make some noise for our brand-new coaches.
LeAnn Rimes! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I was nervous walking out here today. Like...
LAUGHTER You were nervous?
Well, yeah. But now I feel good.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I'm so excited to be here, you guys. Thanks for having me.
Danny and Tom! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Hello, everyone. Good to be in Manchester, innit?
AUDIENCE: Yeah! What do you think of our chair?
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Make some noise for the legend,
the hero - my hero -
Sir Tom Jones. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
And will.i.am!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Ooh-ooh!
PRODUCER: 'Coaches, we are ready with our first audition.'
I'm Ben. I'm Delleile.
I'm Michael. I'm Kaine. And together...
ALL: We're Mic Lowry.
'We're like a family, brothers.'
I'd say Delleile. Yeah, yeah.
He waits before we're getting called on stage,
and then he says, "I need the toilet."
THEY LAUGH
I've been with these brothers of mine in a band for 12 years,
but it's literally been like boys to men!
In the beginning,
we used to record a lot of videos on social media.
A few of them just blew up for us.
Things just took off from there, really.
We gig all the time. There's always ups and downs.
We played Liverpool Pride.
I think you came in out of tune and then I tried to...
Nah, YOU came in out of tune.
THEY LAUGH
When we were in high school together,
we went to this youth organisation called Positive Impact,
based in Liverpool, in Toxteth.
Mad! Oh, my God! Remember this place?
That's where we all started singing together, really.
Barbara!
Barbara founded Positive Impact.
When we were younger and first starting out,
I think she needed to whip us into shape a few times.
D got a few clips around the ear.
We had to suffer the craziness, but it was worth it!
We decided that we wanted to form a band
because the boys can all sing,
they can harmonise like there is no tomorrow,
and they're just good.
What did you used to say? "Sing it like you're singing to a girl."
THEY LAUGH
I'm unbelievably proud.
They just need that little something that can take them over the line,
and I think this really could be that.
TOM F: First one.
Are you guys ready? Yeah, Will!
Let's do it. Are you?
I was ready before I was born.
LAUGHTER
PRODUCER: How are you all feeling?
I have never been this nervous before anything.
Really? Nah, I swear to God.
All right, lads. PRODUCER: 'Thank you. All yours.'
Ah, I need a wee so bad.
WHISPERS: This must be the worst bit - walking out.
If you got a man...
CHEERING
And if I can come over and
ALL:
You're telling me I'm just a friend
ALL: Baby, you...
Yes!
Is that four voices?
Why
This kind of guy?
ALL: Stop playing games with me
Come on!
ALL:
You say I'm
Three!
Four!
WILD CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
They're great!
That I've got
Yo! What's up?
ALL: What's happening?
What's your names?
I'm Ben. I'm Delleile.
I'm Michael. I'm Kaine.
And we're... ALL: Mic LOW-ry!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE LOW-ry!
And where are you guys FROM? LAUGHTER
We're from Liverpool.
No, Liver-POOL. LAUGHTER
That was incredible. One great voice,
and then, all of a sudden, I heard a lot, and I loved it.
APPLAUSE Thank you. Thank you.
Well, I loved it. I mean, you sound fantastic.
The four of you work together,
and it sounds like you're having fun.
It is scary, doing this today, like.
Yeah. This is always scary.
My mouth's so dry speaking on this microphone right now.
You've got a right to be scared
because millions of people watch this show.
It doesn't get any bigger than this.
Delleile went to the toilet, like, three times before we came on, so...
LAUGHTER Come on!
Come on! I'm nervous. Sorry.
LEANN: I love that honesty. I love it.
APPLAUSE
That sounded amazing. It was super exciting.
And there aren't any bands like you out there at the moment.
It's really refreshing.
Appreciate it. Thank you very much.
So, out of the crew, like, who makes beats?
I'm not going to tell YOU I'm a producer, I'll say that much.
LAUGHTER No, it's cool.
I can make some demos, but, like, that's about it.
That's what it's all about. And then you guys all write?
ALL: Yeah. Dang! That's what's UP up!
LAUGHTER All right.
You guys got passports?
LAUGHTER ALL: Yeah.
We're ready. We're ready, baby. We're ready.
TOM F: I think what that does just highlights the fact that
Will doesn't even live in this country.
With us and our team, we live here.
LAUGHTER
It's 24/7 care on our team, guys. If he needs the loo, I'm here!
LAUGHTER If I need the loo, he's here!
LAUGHTER
All right, look, we are the best qualified
to be your coaches.
We know exactly what it's like
to live and breathe being in a band for 21 years.
APPLAUSE And the hard bit -
it's the relationship between band members.
We have been through highs and lows and ups and downs,
and we have so much experience that we can offer you guys
to get you through the rest of this competition.
APPLAUSE
Um, I've been in a group for a while as well.
LAUGHTER
That's where I got a type of perspective
I'd love to share with you,
so I'd love for you to be on my team.
APPLAUSE
I know I might not be the obvious choice,
but don't be basic and don't be obvious.
LAUGHTER
You know? You guys remind me of the good old days in the '90s.
The harmonies were so tight.
And I would love, love, love to work with you.
So, yeah. Thank you.
APPLAUSE
I love what you do.
I would try and get the best out of you that I possibly could.
Even though I'm not part of a group myself,
I know what a group should sound like.
So, it's up to you, though, to figure out
who you'd like to go with to feel more comfortable with,
you know, and to get the best out of you.
APPLAUSE
Let's have a little chat.
AUDIENCE CALLS OUT NAMES
That was amazing to hear, you know,
all the lovely things that you guys had to say about us,
so thank you so much for that. For us, being a group,
it would be good to have somebody
who maybe knows, like, the group dynamic...
..so we would like to choose...
ALL: Will.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Damn it!
Close, but no cigar!
You're on the beats? Yeah, let's do it.
Put it up. All right, guys.
SHE CHEERS
That was awesome!
WILL.I.AM: Yeah! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Well done. Congratulations. Well done, mate.
That's a strong start.
They're really tight, aren't they? BOTH: Yeah.
That group dynamic is so important.
There's a certain thing there that you guys understand that we don't.
Going to be some tough pitching.
Oh, damn it, Will!
LAUGHTER
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
So, what are you guys looking for in this Blind Audition?
When you get someone who can really sing
with somebody who can make you feel something,
like, that's the ultimate artist, in my opinion. Yeah.
You've got to put 100% in. Don't hold anything back.
If they're exciting, then I'll hit the button.
It's a bit harder on our team cos it's not just about what I want,
it's about what we want.
Do you guys agree mostly?
Nope. Well, not all the time.
LAUHGTER
We've been working with each other for over 21 years.
Wow! But you started younger than I did.
Oh, yeah. I started on stage when I was five.
What?! Yeah.
I got my record deal when I was 11.
Get out! Yeah.
I've been doing this for 30 years.
How did you have that type of confidence
at 11 years old, though? You just know.
Like, that's the kind of confidence
I hope everyone walking on this stage has.
Yeah, fearless. You know what I mean?
So, how you feeling, Harvs?
Nervous. Excited. A bit nervous again.
My name's Harvey Powell, I'm 18, and I'm from Doncaster.
You'll be fine. I hope so.
My mum and my nanny are definitely my top two fans.
Harvey is the most loving, caring child you could ask for.
We are really, really close,
and he knows I'm there, no matter what.
Today is the biggest day I've ever had in my life.
It's like, "Boom! You're here. It's happening."
I started singing when I were about 16,
when I started going busking.
When you get a crowd, there's no better feeling.
That's when I realised that singing is what I wanted to do.
My dream is to make a good life out of singing.
This could completely change everything.
My mum and my nanny have never, ever made me feel like
I can't achieve something.
Whenever Harvey sings, it gives me goose bumps.
No matter where he is, as long as he can sing, I know he's happy.
I don't think I've actually ever felt more nervous.
Just the thought of getting that one chair turn,
it'll just make me feel like
I've achieved everything I've dreamed of.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Wow!
Don't feel like home
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
CHEERING
When you feel like flying...
Come on!
Are we going to turn?
Turn!
No!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
AUDIENCE: Aw!
APPLAUSE
Oh, no! Oh, that was so close!
The bleeding...
That breaks my heart a little. Yeah.
Don't have to stay.
Argh!
So close.
TOM J: He's a good singer. His tone was beautiful.
Oh, that's hard. Yeah.
BECCA: You were amazing. Absolutely amazing.
It's so hard. But there was something cool there.
Yeah. I was willing him on.
I just want to go hug them all. Yeah.
I mean, I feel for everybody that comes on this stage.
I was really wanting to,
but it just became a little bit more unsteady as we went along.
Oh, that killed me, too!
Testing. One, two, three. LAUGHS
Special day...
Mo, your wife needs you!
Yes, dear? How much?
£9.99. Cheers.
My name is Joy and I'm from North West London.
I'm 56 years old.
I feel like a dinosaur sometimes. LAUGHS
We have a hair and beauty shop. It's fun. I go around the till.
Don't even know what I'm doing. LAUGHS
But I have an amazing husband.
Hi, Mo. LAUGHS
There you go. How did you do that?
You're not supposed to put me on the till in the first place!
But it's wonderful working with him.
I mean, he knows every product in that shop.
Mo! Mo! Mo!
Oh, my God. He had the patience of a God.
I've got a good one. LAUGHS
EMMA: How are you feeling?
It quite makes me emotional
because her dream is going to become true.
Don't start yet cos you're going to mess up my face.
Singing is my passion. It's my real love.
I mean, I do backing vocal sessions, I arrange vocals.
Auditioning on The Voice
is something I've contemplated for... a few years.
I think now I feel... very ready.
Joy had a gift from God - I think so - for singing.
Her voice can go inside your soul.
I've been singing for many years -
like, over 50 years now - as a backing singer.
Today is the day
when I can really showcase who I am, showcase Joy.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
CHEERING
APPLAUSE
Wow!
CHEERING
Yes!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Yeah!
Why have we not turned?!
What are we doing?! I don't know! I don't know!
What shall we do? Don't know.
Hi, beautiful! What's your name? Joy Farrukh.
Pure joy is what you are.
Whoo! Thank you. Thank you. Oh, wow! That was beautiful.
Thank you for turning. I appreciate that.
I just love the take on that song.
Like, I actually didn't realise what song I was listening to.
That's probably why nobody else turned.
No, I thought it was... LAUGHTER
APPLAUSE
Even if none of you turned,
I'm just happy to stand here right now.
I'll be honest with you. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Thank you, Sir Tom.
Two good-looking guys there, thank you so much.
LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE
Will, I still love you, baby, but it's, you know...
SHE LAUGHS
I'm so happy that I get to play with you.
We're gonna have fun.
You were all in it, like, so much so.
And I love a risk like that.
Just one little thing for me.
Look, you can do every run in the book.
I would have loved to have heard
a little bit more of a differentiation.
You want to have another go? Want to show me something different?
I'd love to hear it. Would you sing it with me?
Oh! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Sure. Girl!
Oh, my! Is this really happening?
I love it. Oh, my God!
You're the queen. Hi!
That's amazing. Oh, my God.
APPLAUSE
Give this lady a microphone.
Come on! Yes!
All of the words
LAUGHTER
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Really?
LAUGHTER
LAUGHTER
APPLAUSE
Oh, life is, yeah
Your world
APPLAUSE
SHE VOCALISES
LEANN VOCALIZES
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
THEY CHAT INDISTINCTLY
I love you so much. I love you, my love. Thank you!
Thank you. Thank you.
No, thank you. Hey!
CHEERING
Yes!
So... what now?
Any more questions? You guys have been quiet.
LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE
Because it's like... Oh, you're going to talk now?
Nope! Nope! I'm trying to!
LAUGHTER
I forgive you guys for not turning. Don't worry about it.
LAUGHTER
After listening to the two of you sing together,
you're with the right coach.
You're trying to get out of something here. No, no, I'm not.
LAUGHTER That's gold right there.
Seriously... It ain't your gold. It's her gold.
LAUGHTER
Bye, everyone!
Love you!
We're going to kick ass.
DANNY: She's amazing. TOM J: Well, there you go.
Mm!
I didn't say one thing! LEANN: She's funny.
I know! I got told off!
I think I have my hands full.
Really (?) LAUGHTER
Pfft!
I have never seen a moment like that.
That was fun. That was fun.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Not only will our Voice winner get a record deal with Universal,
they'll also get all of this.
Yes, this year's Voice winner will fly,
courtesy of Virgin Atlantic Holidays,
to Orlando in the Sunshine State of Florida.
On arrival, our new pop king or queen
will spend seven nights here,
at Universal Orlando Resort's three theme parks.
With their very own Universal Express Unlimited Pass,
they'll be able to skip the regular queues
at participating rides.
SHE SCREAMS
They'll get to hang out with some of its amazing characters...
DINOSAUR ROARS Whoa!
..and experience first-hand
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter...
..including Hagrid's Magical Creatures
Motorbike Adventure...
Whoo!
..and slide their way into
Universal Volcano Bay water theme park...
SHE LAUGHS
..jam like a true legend at the Hard Rock Hotel,
where, for the first time in Voice history,
they'll get to perform to the crowds
on Hard Rock's award-winning Velvet Sessions stage.
Our winner will also get £50,000 cash,
a prize certainly worthy of our Voice champion.
You better believe
WILL.I.AM: Hey, LeAnn Rimes? LEANN: What?
How do you like the UK so far?
I love the UK. It's my favourite.
I've always felt very much at home here.
Do you like more posh-style UK,
or do you like more, like, Cockney UK?
Like, what type of UK vibes?
You know, I can dig pretty much anything,
but I like something with a little bit of grit and edge.
What part of the UK do you like, Danny?
Bolton. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I think that's got the little bit of grit and edge you're looking for.
LAUGHTER That just might be it.
LAUGHTER
APPLAUSE
PRODUCER: 'All right, stand by. Thank you, guys.
'Nice and quiet, everyone. Thank you very much.'
I'm Kyra, I'm 20, and I'm from Manchester.
I'm a student, and I'm studying an access to veterinary medicine.
This is one of our ibis. Suffered a fracture to the leg.
Aw!
I love it, but it's really hard.
I've always been drawn to animals, yeah.
I like animals more than people sometimes,
so that's the route I'm going!
First realised Kyra enjoyed singing
when she was able to sit on the toilet!
LAUGHS And she'd just sing all the time -
all the way to nursery, all the way back.
She was born to sing.
A couple of years ago, my life kind of flipped on its head.
All of a sudden, my health rapidly declined.
I was bedbound for months,
and then I was diagnosed with a chronic illness
called PoTS syndrome.
Her brain and her heart can't communicate properly,
so her body just shuts down,
she can't stand up, so she's now a wheelchair user.
Erm... yeah.
The past couple of years definitely sucked.
What helped me most was music.
Just mad. Can't believe I'm here.
I've always sang, but it's mainly been for, like, fun.
Just bedroom stuff. That's it. CHUCKLES
I'm dead proud of you getting up there
and doing what you love. Thanks.
I hope that something good comes from it.
Yeah.
The condition has definitely affected my singing.
You're always taught that you need to stand up
for, like, good projection and whatever,
so I'm relearning how to sing sat down.
I'd like to show people, even if you've got limitations,
it doesn't have to stop you from doing summat like this.
WHISPERS: You'll be great.
I'm definitely excited for the challenge,
but it is terrifying.
I'm just hoping that my nerves don't get the better of me,
and I sound how I do in my bedroom when I'm practising.
Come on.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
CHEERING
Turn!
KYRA VOCALIZES
Go, go, go, press it! Go, go, go!
Press it! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
THEY CHEER EXCITEDLY
To love, love, yeah
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE CONTINUES
To love
Thank you. Of course.
What's your name, love?
My name's Kyra, erm, I'm 20, and I'm from here in Manchester.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Not only is it an incredibly hard song to sing,
it's one of the most amazing songs ever written.
As soon as you started singing,
all of my hairs were standing up on my arm,
and we say, "The goose bumps don't lie."
I should have pressed instantly,
but I think I just wanted to hear the rest of the song,
to be honest with you.
Well done. Thank you.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
LEANN: I was so, so close to turning around.
The tone of your voice is so cool. Oh, thank you.
Yeah, you've got a very interesting and unique sound. I really dig it.
It was really beautiful.
Thank you. Thanks. Yeah.
That was a lovely rendition of that song.
Thank you. Ooh, sorry.
TOM F: That's all right. I think I'll cry!
Yeah, cry, it's fine. Crazy!
I tried to hold off and listen to what you were going to do
because it's a hard song to sing. Yeah.
And so I wanted to find out
if you were going to carry it that good all the way through,
and you did.
Thank you. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
How long have you been in that chair?
I've been in this chair for about just over a year now,
so it's still pretty new.
Erm, I've got a condition called PoTS syndrome.
Basically, I'm, like, allergic to gravity,
so if I stand up, my heart rate also shoots up,
so I'm, like, an ambulatory wheelchair user,
so I use it mostly when I'm outside my house,
so... yeah.
Well, you're dealing with it and you're...
I mean, you sound great, so... Thank you. I'm trying!
APPLAUSE
I don't know if you know this, but I wrote a book and a musical
that has a wheelchair user as the main character,
and I'm a patron for a charity called Whizz Kidz,
which provides wheelchairs for people under 18.
It's an amazing charity.
There's so much more work to be done to make performing more accessible,
so I think having you on this show
is doing an amazing thing for other people like you -
wheelchair users who want to be on stage performing.
APPLAUSE
Your voice is powerful. Your spirit and drive is powerful.
I'm so happy that you're on the show
cos there's a lot of people out there
that need that inspiration,
that source of determination that you possess.
It's beyond admirable.
I'm so happy you have the choice between
Mr Fletcher and Danny, and Sir Tom Jones.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Yeah, thanks.
To come out on this big stage and sing like you did was amazing.
We knew straightaway. That's the magic of music -
it gives people emotions.
And you made us all feel the emotion.
We would love it if you chose our team.
Thank you. Oh! APPLAUSE
And I would love to have you on my team.
Yeah. Oh, I just... LAUGHTER
What are you contemplating?
I just love them both. Like, Tom is just, like... icon, legend.
And then Danny and Tom are so, like...
Handsome.
LAUGHTER
Yeah. Sorry.
Well, it's up to you, but you make your own decision.
Go with your heart.
AUDIENCE CALLS OUT NAMES
Oh, I don't know. I don't know.
I think I'm going to go with...
AUDIENCE CALLS OUT NAMES
..Danny and Tom. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Go ahead.
TOM F: Oh, man! That's amazing!
So lovely to meet you. Nice to meet you.
That's amazing. Thank you so much.
I promise you, we're going to work so hard for you.
I'm so glad you picked us.
Wow!
We won't let you down. Thank you.
Congratulations.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
DANNY: How did we beat Tom?!
SPEECH DROWNED OUT BY AUDIENCE
I think the thing that swung her over was
the fact that you called yourself cute.
Handsome. Handsome.
Oh, you said handsome? Yeah. I'm not cute.
LAUGHTER
Not a long time
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
You guys have been here forever. How are we doing?
Are we doing all right? Terrible.
LAUGHS: Terrible! Terrible! Thank you. I'll try harder.
You're doing great. It feels great. It feels very natural, I think.
It does. We just, like, slid right in.
Everyone fits in perfectly. I'm so happy. I feel good.
I feel good
AUDIENCE CLAPS TWICE
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I'm Kevon, I'm 32, I'm a plumber,
living in Huddersfield, but I'm from Jamaica.
Plumbing is a lovely job. It's rewarding.
But what gets me through the day is singing.
Singing. I love singing.
Sometimes, the customers...
LAUGHS ..they hear me singing.
Hey! LAUGHS
It just makes you feel good. LAUGHS
How are you feeling? I'm excited.
Excited? It's a surreal moment, believe me.
I have a beautiful wife - Deidre. She is my rock.
My dream for Kevon is that
the coaches hear the magic in his voice.
And if they turn,
they'll get to see the person behind it as well,
and realise that he's a phenomenal guy.
When you need a hand...
Today, for me, is something that I've always dreamed about.
Although I love being a plumber, singing is what I love... the most.
If a coach turned, it would just change my life.
APPLAUSE
AUDIENCE CLAPS ALONG
Wow!
Stamp on dem feet
And I stamp to the beat
Reggae music so sweet
Just a rock non-stop
Just a rock off the back
And dis him convert to dreadlocks
Yes! SHE SCREAMS
EMMA LAUGHS
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Whoo!
Hey!
So, you feel good? LAUGHTER
Yes, I am. What's your name?
My name is Kevon Bennett, from Jamaica.
CHEERING
I'm living in West Yorkshire at the moment.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
What do you do for a living? Oh, I'm a plumber.
You're a plumber? Oh, yes. The singing plumber.
The singing plumber. We all need singing plumbers.
LAUGHTER So, you're like...
To get the pipe right...
LAUGHTER
LAUGHTER
No flushing the toilet tonight.
LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE
Who did you come with today? My wonderful wife down there.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE My beautiful wife.
How did you guys meet?
You know, I had a crush on her when I was 17...
AUDIENCE: Aw! ..and she moved to England,
and I'm like, "Oh, darn it!"
Ten years later,
I went through my church doors and she was there, standing.
AUDIENCE: Aw!
Fast-forward - 2019, we got married, so we've been married ever since.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I love it!
She makes the best Yorkshire pudding.
LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE
That's amazing.
And so did she convince you to come on the show or...?
Yes.
She believes in me more than I believe in myself.
AUDIENCE: Aw! She's a good woman.
Oh, yes, she is.
You have a great voice. You really do.
Very cool. I'm so glad you're with Will.
You're going to do great. Thank you.
Welcome to the show! Thank you very much.
TOM J: Loved it.
DEIDRE: You did it!
LAUGHTER
LEANN: Tonight.
LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE
We've had a real mix so far, haven't we?
Everybody's so unique and different.
This next one will be a big one, baby.
I don't want to miss a single drop. LAUGHTER
How are you feeling today?
I'm feeling OK.
I'm nervous right now!
I'm Danielle, I'm 34 years old, and I'm a singer from London.
I moved to London from France. I just wanted to explore.
Initially, it was for a year, and here I am, 14 years later.
LAUGHS I miss the food.
French food is - sorry - unmatched. CHUCKLES
I have two godchildren. They are six and eight years old.
They like my singing. Yeah.
Who's Auntie Dani's biggest fan?
Me! Me! Me, me, me!
Growing up, I joined my local church choir.
I guess that's when I realised that,
"OK, I guess I can sing."
Deeper than my love for you...
People tend to be a bit surprised when they hear me sing.
I want to show my godchildren that it's OK to go after your dreams.
Even if they may be scary or seem unattainable,
it's always worth going after them.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
APPLAUSE
That's it. Come on, baby.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Wow!
Interesting.
Turn! Come on, guys!
AUDIENCE: Aw! APPLAUSE
Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
But I just can't stop
And I'm not
Cos I know it's bad
Having what we had.
AUDIENCE BOOS I know!
AUDIENCE: Bring her back! Can't do it.
Bring her back! Bring her back! Bring her back! Bring her back!
TOM F: That's pretty cool. DANNY: She'll hear that.
Bring her back! Bring her back! Bring her back! Bring her back!
It's horrible, not turning, though.
Oh, that was hard! That was really hard.
Sometimes, a singer can tick all the boxes,
but just doesn't make you feel it. Mm-hm.
No. You can't fault that performance.
It was great. She sang it great. I don't know.
It just didn't make my hair stand up.
It nearly did. Yeah.
Oh! CHILD: You sang like an angel!
DANIELLE: Did I? Yeah!
We made a really wrong decision, right?
AUDIENCE: Yes!
Missed that one.
No, seriously, we're so sorry that we didn't turn,
so, please, if you're watching this
and Twitter right now is going crazy and they're like...
ENGLISH ACCENT: .."What are you thinking not turning,
"Tom Jones, Tom Fletcher..."
LAUGHTER "..Danny, LeAnn Rimes,
"and will.i.am?"
Please come back on this next season of The Voice 2025. Please.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
But we're ready to erupt...
WILL.I.AM: Hey, Danny. DANNY: Yes, Will?
What does it feel like being in the double chair?
It's amazing. It's comfortable. More legroom.
Got it, got it, got it. I've got my mate sitting next to me.
We can chat and have a laugh and talk about you.
LAUGHTER That's cool.
What's it like sitting on your own? LAUGHTER
Actually, I'm not on my own.
I've been here with Tom for 12 years.
LAUGHTER
Quite right. APPLAUSE
Why don't you guys experience what it's like being on your own...
I would love that. ..and let me and Tom double up?
You want to try out our chair? Yeah! Come on.
Are we going to do it? Yeah? Right, OK.
Can I borrow your shades? Oh, OK, OK, OK.
Oh, this is so good. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Get to sit in Sir Tom's seat.
Are you Will now? I don't know!
How is this working? LAUGHTER
Does this make you Will? LAUGHTER
Yo! LAUGHTER
What are you laughing at, Tom?
It's great, mate. Looks wicked.
LAUGHTER
These are really together, aren't they?
Yeah. When you're moving, I'm moving.
LAUGHTER
PRODUCER: 'Good luck, everyone, with this.
'Um, we are ready for our next audition.'
CHEERING
The way I do things...
I'm Zalika Henry, I'm 35, and I'm from Essex.
I'm a musical theatre performer. I usually perform in the West End.
I was in The Lion King UK tour. I played the character Rafiki.
I always enjoy playing other people and playing characters,
and that was the most fun I've ever had.
Who will you pick if they all turn around?
I like a bit of Tom. Yeah, I know you do!
'I come from a very close family.'
They are rooting for me,
and they just make me feel so special.
Honestly, we're so proud that you're taking this step.
Just go out there and be your best you.
Yeah. Yeah.
I've decided to do The Voice
because it's time for me to step out of my comfort zone,
it's time for me to be myself.
I'm not being someone else. I'm not being a character.
I'm not being someone else's story. I'm being my story.
I've never taken a risk like this.
It's going to be so different,
but I'm so ready to be who I am meant to be.
What's that? They've got candy.
Oh, they're nicking our sweets! LAUGHTER
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
In my kitchen
Oh, my God!
Dip you in honey
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
SHE VOCALISES
Wow!
Cut out the middle
Right now
Dip you in honey
Tom!
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Till the daylight
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Oh, my God!
What the what?!
Oh, my God!
Oh, my God!
TOM F: Hi. What's your name? Hi.
My name's Zalika, I'm 35, and I'm from Essex.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Yeah!
You might have noticed there's been a little bit of a mix-up
with the seating arrangements.
I can see Will's not in his chair.
No, this is will.i.dan. LAUGHTER
I am Tom, just minus the "Sir". Right, OK.
And this is a new combo. I'm dan.i.am.
LAUGHTER And I'm Tommy.
LAUGHTER Aw! Tommy!
APPLAUSE Brilliant!
We all turned for you... No, I know. This is amazing.
..because you have a powerful, powerful, powerful voice.
Thank you. You've got the whole energy in the room.
Yeah. Everyone was up
and singing and clapping.
It was electric. Thank you so much. Thank you.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
How long have you been singing? From around six years old.
Do you sing in church? Yes, I do sing in church. Yeah.
I like the amount of power you have.
And you didn't seem to, like, peak. You just kept going...
Yeah. ..all the way to the very end.
Like, if you would have continued, you'd have flew through the roof.
Yeah. LAUGHTER
That felt really, really lovely.
And the Brits have some soul, which I'm really diggin'.
Amazing. Yeah, that was awesome.
APPLAUSE Thank you so much.
Thank you. Oh, my God! Unbelievable!
Now, this is, uh...
Will, you use AI, yeah?
OK. Because I'm will.i.am... LAUGHTER
Hey, write me a pitch in the style of will.i.am
for a contestant on The Voice.
LAUGHTER LEANN: Oh, my God!
OK, I've got my pitch! OK.
"Yo, yo, yo! What's up, fam?"
LAUGHTER
APPLAUSE
"It's your boy will.i.am!" LAUGHTER
"Now, listen up!
"We are your guide to unlocking your potential!
"So, if you're ready to ride the wave of innovation,
"creativity and pure passion, join Team Hashtag..."
Hashtag? Hashtag!
LAUGHTER
"Join Team Dan...
"Dan and Tom..."
He doesn't even know who he is any more!
"..and let's make it happen together!"
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Thank you.
Well done. Oh, my God.
I kind of cheated, but...
It kind of got me down to a science.
LAUGHTER
In all seriousness, though, it was amazing, incredible,
and us, as coaches, we'll listen, we're here to understand,
we're here to guide you into whatever you want to be.
APPLAUSE Thank you for that.
Thank you. Thanks.
I love your voice. Thank you.
You moved me, the soul that you have.
I do have a type of female voice that I love,
and it is definitely
ones like yours. Wow.
I wanted to turn around because
you deserved it and you sounded beautiful.
I would obviously love to have you on my team.
Thank you so much, LeAnn. Thank you. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I thought you were spectacular.
Thanks. You represented Essex well.
There's a lot of soul in Essex.
There is, yeah. Thanks. So, speaking of soul,
if you were on my team, you could take me to church.
OK! LAUGHTER
Yeah! APPLAUSE
Thank you.
OK. Well, as far as I'm concerned... Yes.
..you have a fantastic voice.
LAUGHTER
And you... LAUGHTER
Getting seasick over there!
I love your projection.
As far as I'm concerned, you're a real singer.
That's what I love to hear - a full voice.
Yeah. And you have that.
Thank you. So, I think,
if you came with my team, we could work great together,
if you want to. I would love to have you.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Oh, decisions!
I'm stuck about who to choose.
AUDIENCE CALLS OUT NAMES
I'm going to go with my gut.
And my gut is...
..Sir Tom Jones. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Thank you.
That was great. Great. Great voice. Thank you so much.
Really. Thank you.
Tremendous. Thank you.
Full-on. Thank you!
I'm over doing this.
I'm like, "Who am I now? This guy gots me down to a freaking T!"
Shut up, mate! My God! It was a terrible impression!
LEANN: That was good.
Zalika!
Oh! ZALIKA LAUGHS
Oh, my God! Oh, my God, Zalika!
You looked so beautiful. Aw, don't! You'll make me cry! Aw!
APPLAUSE
Coaches, guess what time it is. ALL: What time is it?
It's competition time! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
You lovely lot at home can win the biggest ever cash prize
that we've ever given away on The Voice.
Guess how much it is.
£10,000?
£100,000!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Along with it, a holiday to Universal Orlando Resort!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
You and three guests have the chance to win a fabulous holiday
at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.

of Universal Orlando's three theme parks.

Good luck!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
This has been a really incredible start.
Like, what a great first day.
Yeah. Having a brilliant time!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE It's amazing!
How many do we all have on our team now?
I have two. We all have one, I think, don't we?
We've all taken off. Whoo!
PRODUCER: 'We are ready for the next one. Thank you, everyone.'
Come on! CHEERING
I'm Billy Lockett. I'm 32 years old.
I'm a singer-songwriter from Northampton.
I realised I wanted to do music at about eight years old.
My mum bought a piano. I loved it.
And I remember my parents being very confused
that I was able to pick it up so quickly.
I would always just tinker around with things,
and I'd hear my dad screaming from up the stairs,
"Oh, that's nice!"
And then he'd run down really excited, like a puppy.
He just loved everything about me making music.
It was his dream for me to do this.
Sadly, in 2014, my dad passed away. He was an inspiration.
I think that's another reason why I'm a lot more focused
on writing songs - it makes people feel something.
When I was 18, I tweeted KT Tunstall.
I sent her a video of me singing one of my songs
and she replied saying that she really liked the video,
and brought me on her whole UK tour.
At the end of it,
managed to get a record deal, about 22 years old,
and everything started to really fly.
That lasted till I was 26, and then they dropped me!
But, for me, I can't not make music.
It's in my DNA. It's... It's chosen me.
I've been looking for.
I do feel nervous now, though.
This could be a huge, life-changing moment.
That's why we're here.
My mum is amazing. She believes in me like no-one else.
I am already so proud of you.
For the Blind Audition, I'm going to do one of my own songs.
It is a huge risk, but, you know, I want them to feel my struggle.
Hopefully, the coaches like it,
but I'm trying not to think about it too much.
I've always felt there'd be this one big, breaking moment
that changes my life.
Hopefully, this is that moment.
I'm rising above
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Gorgeous.
Let's go.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Yes! Yes!
We got one!
AUDIENCE SHOUTS ENCOURAGEMENT
Yes!
APPLAUSE
AUDIENCE SHOUTS ENCOURAGEMENT Wow.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
That this world could give
The things that I did...
Oh, my God! Look at that!
What is your name? Billy Lockett.
TOM F: The song that you played, was that one of yours?
Yeah, it's one of mine. That was magical.
You moved me so deeply.
I was holding back tears because it was so incredibly powerful.
Thank you so much. Oh, the power of your voice! Yes!
APPLAUSE
You felt to me like you meant it. You were baring your soul.
And that's why I hit my button. I thought it was great.
Thank you, mate. Thank you. APPLAUSE
How long have you been singing? Since I was about 16.
I did my first tour when I was 18,
but, you know, I've been signed and dropped,
so maybe... Just never been the right time.
You should not let that discourage you or hold you back.
Your voice is just too awesome to not have turned.
You've got something really special, bro.
Thank you so much. APPLAUSE
Record companies, they're cool, but sometimes they overthink it.
They're trying to fix you in some type of algorithm.
You hit our heart rhythm and you made us all feel something,
and I want to thank you for that.
I'd love for you to be on my team. Your songs are freakin' awesome.
That's my pitch.
APPLAUSE
The reason that I'm on this show is
I love listening to singers I haven't heard before.
I think you should be headlining shows
so that the world can see you.
I'll do all I can to help you with this wonderful talent that you have.
APPLAUSE
It is a true gift to be able to share your heart with the world,
and I would love to support you in this journey of yours.
And by the way, I'm playing The O2 in London.
If you were to come on my team,
I would really love for you to come sing a song with me.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Damn!
Wow. DANNY: Guess what.
What, Danny?
We're playing The O2 on the 10th of October.
LAUGHTER
And we'd like to sing a song with you.
Ah, whatever! LAUGHTER
Don't copy me! But not only that...
Like, we knew that, a moment like this,
we needed to come up with something special.
Oh, no. Can I get my guitar?
Damn! LAUGHTER
Cheers. Thank you.
DANNY: So, this is called...
Team Tom And Danny, The Musical.
LAUGHTER
SHE LAUGHS
Could help you win or lose
To make a huge mistake...
LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE
AUDIENCE CLAPS ALONG
Wah-wah, wah-wah
On Team Danny and Tom
If you pick Team LeAnn?
If you choose will.i.am?
If you want to be on Team Tom
You are not to blame
That, huh, sex bomb...
LAUGHTE£R
Me, me, me, me, me, me, me
I didn't write you a part, Will.
Cos he knows I'mma kill it
I'm just gonna spell it out
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
What is going on today?
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
I'm just saying.
That was amazing. Oh, hey!
All right. DANNY: I'm booked.
What?
There's more?
LAUGHTER
Be with Tom and me?
I don't doubt it
BOTH: LAUGHTER
Black Eyed Peas
No, we're not sirs or even OBEs
We won't lose tonight
Yes
Yes
Yes
BOTH:
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Yay!
DANNY LAUGHS
That's a hell of a pitch. LAUGHTER
Wow. Thank you so much, everyone.
I can't believe that you've all turned around.
It's a huge honour.
And, uh, I'm going to pick...
..Tom and Danny. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Thanks, mate. Great to meet you, pal.
Yeah, you, too.
That was an amazing song. Well done.
I don't blame you. After all that, what else could you do?
SHE LAUGHS
What?! You did it! You did it!
My baby did it!
That was so fun!
He was great. Yeah, that was magical.
He wrote that from his heart, and every ounce of him is in that.
Yeah, and he had the confidence to do it.
Yeah.
Just so you know, we've not got anything left for our pitches.
LAUGHTER Yeah, we're done now.
I hope not! LAUGHTER
What a freakin' day! What a day!
Whoo! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
See you guys next week.
Yes! AUDIENCE: Yes!
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
